Doctor Who - Christmas Special - More Details Revealed

More details about the forthcoming Doctor Who special, A Christmas Carol, have been revealed by the shows executive producer Piers Wenger. The title of the episode was revealed last week - although only reported by some outlets this week. The episode is named after the Charles Dickens story of the same name but executive producer Piers Wenger has revealed that the special will not feature a character called Scrooge.

"There’s no one called Scrooge in it and it’s not set on Earth, but there are familiar archetypes from that story within it that will please fans of Dickens’s original." - Piers Wenger

The Christmas special will guest-star Katherine Jenkins and Michael Gambon. So far all the previous Christmas Specials have been set entirely on Earth or at the very least partially set on Earth. The 2007 special, Voyage of the Damned, was mostly set onboard a replica Titanic above the Earth but did feature scenes set on Earth itself - the special guest-starred the Australian singer Kylie Minogue.

This year's Children in Need telethon, on Friday, will once again feature a special preview for A Christmas Carol as well as other Doctor Who related features.
