POLL : Which of these features would like most at SpoilerTV
2 Oct 2010
SpoilerTV ArticleWe're always looking at ways to improve the site and the features we can provide for you all here. Please take a moment to vote in this poll about which feature you would most like to see added next.
If you have any other ideas about how we can improve the site, we'd love to hear your suggestions in the comments below.

I too would like the customizable rss stuff, its easier and more convenient and faster to manage the mass of posts from google reader. I'm sure its possible. I remember one site where you can generate a feed from the categories you selected.
ReplyDeletewow, glad you implemented it.
ReplyDeleteI see it in the post themselves but I don't know why it doesn't show up in the homepage...
thanks from all of us, it's a nice way for great posts not to get lost between so many recent news...
EDIT: well now that I notice, there's a lot of widgets that don't appear in the homepage but do appear on the posts...probably just something to do with my computer
I love the Chrome extension. The absolutely only problem with it is that it doesn't have Modern Family on the show list. But other than that, it's perfect :).
ReplyDeletegag reel of shows?
ReplyDeleteWhy is this poll being done? Will you only do one of the things listed in the poll? If so, I'd personally prefer a SpoilerTV iPhone app, since at the moment it's hard for me to navigate the site with my iPhone.
ReplyDeleteI think show-specific twitter accounts would also be helpful, though. I liked just going to twitter.com/darkufo to get all of my Lost news. It would be nice to have similar twitter accounts for each of the shows I follow, like Fringe and the Event.
Thanks for the feedback
ReplyDeleteI would love an app for my Droid, but I would also be happy with a customizable home page...
ReplyDeleteThanks Logan, great feedback.
ReplyDeleteYep, the Customizable Homepage is something we're planning on for a
while. It's a bit of work but have contacted some devs who think it's
possible and not too costly. It will allow you to list just the shows
that you want as well as providing hopefully a summary of the info.
As for the RSS Feeds, that's just really possible due to the nature of
the RSS Feeds. You'll be much better off using the Chrome Extension
and selecting which shows etc you want to be alerted on. We hope to do
a Firefox version later this year or early next year.
As for the other section, I'll see what we can do. Something like a
Twitter Widget? like this?

I guess what I want is like a customizable homepage...but I never visit the homepage, I just use the RSS bookmarks in firefox...so I think it would be awesome to select the shows I want for the RSS to show, but still showing some news related to new shows or some other general news.
ReplyDeleteAlso it would be great if you had a small space in the site for the best news in other sites (like you do in DarkUFO with those twitter updates) like Movies and some of the best or more commented forum posts to encourage people to visit those places.
Disqus should work on the native site on an iphone, although it's a little slow.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried this on your iphone?

Iphone app would be awesome personally :P
ReplyDeleteEspecially if Disqus works on it :)
Thanks, I'll add it to our internal list. Unfortunately I don't own a
ReplyDeleteBlackberry so I might be quite hard to try and develop for. If there
is enough interest I'll see what we can do.
How about a BlackBerry app?
ReplyDeleteThanks, this was more about usability features as opposed to content
ReplyDeleteat the moment.
Thanks Logan, I'll see what we can do quickly in the short term. I'll
ReplyDeletesee if we can get a popular posts widget on the site next week.
Try using this link on your iphone.

The idea of the poll was to give us some idea of which features are
ReplyDeletepopular and we should prioritize.
In an ideal world I'd like to do all the items,. But I'm just 1 person
and although I'm a ex-developer some of these things are harder and
more expensive to do that others :)
yeah, something like that twitter widget is what I was referring to...but listing ALL the updates there would be counter-productive as there are a lot of updates and they'd just fade away quickly, you'd have to find a way to put the most popular posts in there or something...
ReplyDeleteiPhone App !
ReplyDeleteNo, that's done by design to help the homepage load as fast as possible
