ReplyDeleteIve watched two of these videos now, the time warp one where they use any excuse to randomly put Mercedes voice over the top of the main chorus and the director one where he talks about how great Amber is. Really? It looks like she got shoe horned in and because she's a good singer they have tried to over compensate and have her in unneeded places, like Time Warp. Let Kurt, Quinn and Tina (? for the last two) do their thing!
ReplyDeleteI also think the director has missed the point of RHS in that some of its songs, Time Warp and Sweet Transvestite, are now so iconic, that you can't tinker and change them without alienating those who are going to enjoy what will most likely be a marmite episode (like the show was). Its why despite her being able to do anything vocally, Amber or Mercedes, unfortunately isn't right for the part she is playing. I mean thinking along to the back end of the play, (which I doubt they'll be touching) it would start making less sense than it already does. Its a shame though I would have wanted to hear Glee'S version of Wise Up Janet Weiss...
