Update: 15:50 Thanks to George for the following.

The storyline for Squierrels is false. Futon critic must have put a CBS's pilot story instead! Here is the right one:

The CW project, titled Squirrels, centers on Nicole who, following a whirlwind affair over graduation weekend with the hottest guy in her med school class, makes a radical decision to give up a plum surgical residency in Chicago in order to be near him, and takes the only remaining spot at UCLA -- psychiatry, a field which she has no belief in, officially making her a "Squirrel," the inside term for psych residents - they're known to be a little nuts.

Most are still just in the script phase probably only 2 to 4 of these will make it to series.

CONFESSIONS OF A BACKUP DANCER is being redeveloped after being rejected last year (it didnt even get a pilot order), its a drama about a woman who scores a gig as a backup dancer for a major pop star.

ACTING OUT: drama about the counselors and staff of a down-on-its-luck summer camp whose new owner is a young curmudgeon

CHLOE:
drama about a young female con artist who dies and returns to earth as a "divine covert operator"

DANNI LOWINSKI (possibly midseason this season) :
drama about a scrappy hairdresser who has worked her way through law school and finally graduates only to be brushed off by law firms that aren't interested in her type [so] she sets up her own practice in a shopping mall kiosk

FRAME, THE:
reality competition series in which teams of two are isolated in small rooms, with their life broadcast on TV and the net as they compete against each other

HAWKSHAW: drama about a mysterious man in his 20s who doesn't know his real identity - but believes that he's either a descendent of sherlock holmes or is actually the literary sleuth

RUSH:
drama about undercover cops working the new york nightclub scene

SECRET CIRCLE: drama about a california teen who moves to her mom's hometown of new salem and discovers that she is a witch

TRIGGER:
cop drama about four twenty-something cops/adrenaline junkies who get fast-tracked into the elite "street crimes unit" when its previous members are all busted for corruption

  1. Even though Supernatural and Smallville are my favourite shows on The CW, I have to disagree. They're not the highest rated shows on it, they're probably around the middle and without them the CW still has things going for it (even if they're things you don't like).

  2. 3....2...1......GAY!!!!!!!!!

Why does the CW even exist!!
As soon as Smallville and Supernatural end, the network is gonna sing it's swan song

  3. Trigger and Rush seem really offbrand for the CW tho more CBS

  5. There is only one that I know I will watch(Secret Circle), might watch 2 others (hawkshawk and Chloe). Just not much to choose from in my opinion..:-(

  6. Originality and quality don't seem to be the key words at the CW. None of the pitches raised the slightest interest in me.

  7. Out of all of them, Secret Circle and Hawkshaw probably sound the most interesting (although the latter may be more to do with the fact I've just finished the BBC series Sherlock and loved it) and the cop dramas could be interesting, although A) I'm getting a bit sick of cop dramas and B) A cop drama on the CW seems... weird.

  8. The only "wow" show for me is Hawkshaw. But then, I love Sherlock Holmes :)

  9. As long as we get to keep watching SPN(first, foremost and above everything else)VD and maybe Nikita(I like it so far),I don't mind the rest...
I've heard that the "Secret Circle" book is good(haven't read it),although I would prefer to see "Dark Visions" becoming a show...And "Trigger" could be interesting as well..

  11. The only one I would watch is SQUIRRELS but they NEED to get a new name for that.

  16. Since the Vampire diaries is a success for the CW. The secret circle has a good chance. They only have to get the casting right and put the show behind TVD. Both shows would be based on books by the same auther and I bet a lot of their audience would overlap, so it has a nice inbuild audience and should not bomb like The Beautiful Life. I wonder if the Secret Life get's picked up where they would put Nikita?

  17. kind of odd they would have a show with the title and presumably lead character of a major character on your longest running show that was ending.

Although maybe Alison Mack will get the lead role for it. ha

  18. Thanks for the clarification. Now I can't decide which synopsis has me more disinterested. :)

  19. At first glance, almost all of these shows seem like duds for The CW. The Secret Circle seems like a good bet to make it though. I bet they'll plug it in Smallville's spot or put it on after The Vampire Diaries and put Nikita in Smallville's spot.

    Some other thoughts:

    Acting Out - Sounds horrible.
    Rush & Trigger - Zzzzzz
    Chloe - WTF?
Hackshaw - Seriously? "Hackshaw?" The name alone is terrible.
Danni Lowinski - Sounds like a working class Legally Blonde. That can't be good.

  20. If Rush concentrates mostly on the nightclub scene then it fits right into the CW. Think of it as a ripped from the Lohan/paparazzi files quasi-cop show. Repulsive even as I think of it.

  21. I'm seeing fairy godmother dressed in black break-in clothes, helping unfortunate teens become hot enough to get their Prince Charming, aka Yenta Angel. Homecoming and Prom will be the sweeps episodes. Justin Bieber guest stars.

  22. My guess is that VD leads Secret Circle on Thursday. Nikita leads Supernatural on Friday. They have similar demographics.

  23. the secret circle looks interesting...

  24. The Secret Circle sounds the most interesting. I think it would do great behind the vampire diaries. Chloe also sounds pretty good. I'm suprised the CW has two cop shows listed, I feel like it won't fit on the network. T
