James Cameron’s ‘True Lies’ lands at ABC
17 Sept 2010
Pilot ShowsJames Cameron's TV adaptation of his 1994 hit "True Lies" has landed at ABC.
The network has made a script deal with penalty for the project. Lightstorm Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV are producing with Rene Echevarria as writer/showrunner and co-exec producer.
Having Cameron on a network's lineup would be a boon for any broadcaster, though the plot of "True Lies" (about a superspy whose wife discovers his real job), is territory that been touched on in recent years in projects such as "My Own Worst Enemy" and the upcoming "Undercovers."
If greenlighted, the project will mark the "Avatar" director's second foray into TV after his Fox drama "Dark Angel" back in 2000.

Ah, Dark Angel. Also known as the show where Max (Jessica Alba) sucked but the world met Dean Junior....aka Alec. I still say that if they had made Jensen Ackles the lead the show would have gone more seasons. Alec was the best character in season 2 what with all the constant whining Max and Logan did. Funny how the actors of two of my current favorite characters (Dean from SPN and Tony from NCIS) both came from this little show that couldn't.
ReplyDeleteFirst season of Dark Angel was great, second not so much. They screwed up with those 'monsters'.
ReplyDeleteBut I agree Alec was a ++ for the series.
