ReplyDeleteI rather give my money personally to that charity not some egomantic star who thinks a frigging twit by them is worth 10,000 dollars that is plan stupid plus who is to say it is the star and not their assistant doing the twit.

those top two are so high because they have said on twitter that they are willing to add extra stuff to the highest bidder. But still the amount of money for a anything involved with twitter is ridiculous. I highly doubt most of the celebrities even run there own accounts.

ReplyDeleteThat's not what you should be worried about in this instance anyway. The problem with these Haiti charities is getting the food, goods, supplies, etc. to the people who need them. A lot of these things are sitting in warehouses down there with no one being able to get them to where they need to go. In the case of the perishable goods, some have went bad just sitting in storage.
I wouldn't pay a cent. Until I know for sure that the celebrity doesn't get a percentage of what I am donating and that the charity gets the full donation, then I am not going to pay anything. After all, these days it's all about making money...
ReplyDeleteIt is cool that it's for charity, but as already said above, it's also completely moronic. I am a fan of David Boreanaz, but do I want a tweet from him? Not even a little. Do I want a tweet from any actor I like? Nope. I already think most actors are full of themselves if they get to the point where they charge a fan money for an autograph, a chat, etc.
ReplyDeleteBecause when you get money involved the gesture becomes absolutely meaningless. To the actor you become no different than all the other people who are also going to pay for their time. The charity aspect of this is good, but what people are paying for doesn't make a single bit of logical sense.

That's what a Twitter "package" is. Z. Levi's is currently at 14 grand.
hahaha actually the top ones are actually PACKAGES ie. zach levi will actually find the winner and give that person a package of something awesome notice all of them say package...the ones that nobody bids on are the tweet ones

I've read about celebrities auctioning themselves off as dinner companions with winning bids that go for about twice the 11k the price is up to now. So for half that price all you get is a damn tweet!? You're better off giving your money to PBS. At least they give you a tote bag.
