OMG - "Chasing Ghosts" was really an AWESOME episode. A nail-biter and you had to cry with Catherine when she found and played her mother's tape. Excellent episode.
It was absolutely amazing, season three has not disappointed me yet, I've got to give KK kudos, the girl knocked it out of the park, I loved Vincent taking down the supercharged human in broad daylight, really cool, I loved it when he told his douche cousin off, and his blood brother right there with him, yeah what he said, Tess being there for Catherine awesome and Heather did her thing too, but most of all I found myself tearing up right there with Catherine when she watched the tape, once more I enjoyed the episode from beginning till the end, it just went by to fast!!!!!
Very emotional ivan. I'm glad you told me to have the tissues ready. That scene between Heather and Catherine, both were crying and Catherine finding the tape that her mom made and cried when she was watching it, I was a bucket of tears. What a great roller coaster ride this episode was - EXCELLENT in every way. Now we have to worry about the cliff hanger and this hooded superhuman who is now after them. I see what you meant when you said something happens at the end. This guy is scary and from the short promo of next week's epi "Both Sides Now", it looks like this guy is over powering Vincent. OMG - it's going to be another AWESOME episode. I'm back on track but I had gotten disappointed because it looked as though we were just getting teased, but this episode made up for it. Loved the scene in the church with Vincent and Catherine - very tender moment with a hint of that VinCat love before those smoke bombs burst through the windows and they had to split. Wow - I was blown away by this episode.
Yes, too fast it was. What if the show-runners would make the episode and hour and a half, so they can have all 30 minutes of ads, and we can enjoy a whole hour of pure BATB bliss???
Yeah - that was a real surprise. It made me think that the people or person behind these experiments might have been working with Catherine's mother. I wonder if Reynolds knows even more than what he said. He seemed genuinely sorry for the way things turned out for him. It was clever the way the writer brought in the fact that the Serum is from the Proto-Beast.
Yeah me too, i even went as far as to say maybe Vanessa is the one behind it all LOL, i don't think Reynolds lied about what he knew, it was definitely clever.
I think that Vanessa's notes fell into someone's hands that had access to her when she was working on the "Super Soldier Project", like Reynolds said. I don't think Reynolds lied either. This is proving to be quite a mystery. You know, you may have something there about Vanessa - is she really dead? Although in S1 Catherine did say that she saw her body. The people connected with Muirfield and now these Big Bads, could have made it look like she was dead, but maybe she isn't. Was it in S1 or S2 that Catherine found out that her grave had been moved. In the tape Vanessa said that the people she was working with couldn't be trusted. This leads me to believe that Reynolds must know who the people were that worked with Vanessa on that "Super Soldier Project". Maybe that's how the Big Bad know about Vincent and are after him. Now I see why Catherine is so obsessed to find them - she's very worried about Vincent.
Yeah - and that's why Reynolds must know who they are, or if he doesn't know, he has to suspect who these people might be. Maybe they might kill Reynolds before he talks too much to Catherine and Vincent. I'm going to watch it over again. Sometimes things come out and hit you when you see it over again. You definitely may be on to something about Catherine's mother. It was nice of Reynolds to tell Catherine about the box that contained some of her mom's things and the tape. He kept it all those years too. This is getting very interesting. Vanessa knew a lot about what was going on with the experiments and I think Catherine is going to have quite a job getting to the bottom of it all.
-In S1-Ep7-8, we saw Catherine looking into Vanessa's notes, boxes of them, in order to help JT make the serum to help Vincent control his beast. But you may be right, and someone might had access to Vanessa's notes when she was still in Afghanistan -It was in S1-Ep. 20 "Anniversary" that Catherine found out abut her mother's grave, and later she found her real grave in some isolated country house -I still don't understand how that little box ended up in Reynolds' possession -Is it possible that the Big Bad is one of that group that Sam was after, S2, Ep. 16 "About Last Night"?
Not even a hint yet on the new big bad. Problem with dragging on a season long mystery is that once we find out who it is, it has to be epic! So now I'm scared, whats going to happen to the gang once they find out who it is? Will it be Someone they know?
So this episode was awesome, like last week. It had it all, the sweet moments, the shocker moments, at least a glimpse of romance (though not enough for me yet!), and the writers finally remembered that the fab 4 knew eachother once. Finally they are remembering what makes this show so powerful-the characters, their past and what draws them together today. The scene where vin tells jt and Tess that they are family, this should have been longer and more epic because to me, that was the true meaning of the episode and the whole series actually, that no matter who they have lost, they aren't Alone.
It was one of the most Beauty-ish episode we have had in a while , directed by a woman who prioritized sentimentality over humour and action. And finally we saw glimpse of S1 Catherine . Alleluja.Overall another solid episode in a solid season but in the spirit of jokey nitpicking, here's few moments that puzzled me :
- Cat's continuous moaning over her wedding plans is getting boring. - A stripper show in daylight in a family-friendly public place was really gross. - Vanessa's videotape was an emotional catalyst for Catherine . What else ? After 3 seasons I was expecting something more intriguing than I-love-you-be-happy . - Cat calling Bob "my dad" was eye-rolling . Poor Thomas . He really fell into obscurity quickly in the writing room. Anyway I love Ted W. - The bridal shower caused some serious melodrama in the Chandler family , yet it felt a bit absurd : I mean , she could easily forgive the criminal she was sleeping with who tried to cut Vincent into small pieces and make him an organ donor , yet she couldn't forgive her mom ? Anyway KK , and Nicole , delivered a fantastic performance - How Bob knew about a tape made the night Vanessa was killed ? At that time she was already married to Thomas Chandler
It was nice to see Vanessa again. She had such a great background story. Yet they went for the Gabe and Tori and a bunch of other characters I couldn't care less. Biggest missed opportunity.
As for other thing i would like to share extremely impossible theory with all of you. This theory will probably be completely wrong and not even close the truth, but still i would like to share it.
The theory is that this guy that is Vincent's cousin in this episode is behind the experiments. Probably to help his son or maybe to even become a superhuman himself.
Which side is Reynolds on if it comes down to that? There's a lot of story the writers could tell with just centering on Reynolds at some point. Could be a S5 story. We'll have to see.
That would be heaven. Let's hope they read our posts as well as what the fans write on Twitter. I'm all for a half hour of ads and a full hour of BATB.
Yep - I remember the "Anniversary" episode very well in S-1. Now I remember the cracked headstone and the fact that G was in the picture trying to get close to Catherine so he could get a serum to control the beast in him. They went to the Vanessa's grave and then Catherine found out the grave had been moved. Vincent said he didn't see a body in the first grave, but there was a body in the second grave. Still - how would he or anyone else know who's body it was - it didn't have to be Vanessa. She could still be alive and held captive somewhere to work on these superhuman experiments. I'm beginning to think the BIG BAD is all part of the group Sam was after and Muirfield was part of it. Since Muirfield is now gone, they have risen again but this time even more lethal than Muirfield. Catherine is very worried about Vincent because it looks like they still want him captured. It may be that Vincent turned out to be the best of what turned out of Vanessa's work on the "Super Soldier" serum. JMO - but this is one hell of a story line.
Ditto. I could not have said it any better. I am so excited and on pins and needles. The new beast really looks powerful. Since Vincent cannot beast out while in public, how is he going to save Catherine. How is he going to control himself. I am loving all of Season 3.
Yes. Remember when Agent Thomas and his partner got Vincent out of jail and took him to the lab. They took a sample of his blood and sniped a piece of his hair. The young guy said they were the good guys. And, where is the bracelet that was on Vincent's arm that knocked him out. Episode 21 Season 2.
Good thought. He was too calm when he said he did not know that Vin/Cat were engaged. Did you check out his jail cell. I still think he still has a lot of power behind. And on a spoiler alert, Vincent was going to meet his old nemesis, Who else could it be? How did it get the items? He would have to gotten her belongings from the one who shot Vanessa. On second thought, he would not want anything to happen to Cat. Who else could it be?
I agree. He is the only beast that has humanity and still maintains his beast status. I could see how they would still want him to study how he is so different from the others.
When the BATB first premiered, they did regular police work together. Would it be possible for the show to succeed with Cat doing her regular cop job, Vincent and JT at the hospital, and Tess remain captain. They could write stories still with unusual deaths or crimes. I still have not figured out if the hospital hired JT. He has not been to his professor job. I think would still watch.
My thoughts exactly about Vanessa's box and Reynolds The stripper was actually the cousin's idea, one with which Vincent was not happy at all. I love JR's take on this cousin, and the real family being the family of the heart
I agree. I guess with only a 13 episode season they don't want to waste time with a lot of day to day boring stuff. But sometimes, the day to day stories are so important, so make time, it's what makes the characters seem real.
Now that we know it's beast stuff (which was a surprise considering the affects are different that Vincent's) it must be one of 3 people controlling. Cats mother crew, Reynold (most likely), or the group from the party in 2x16.
Wow, that was an emotional episode. Great that they finally dealt with the family issues. The episodes are growing in intensity. Don't know where the time goes when watching this. Too short Loving it
I'm with you - we'll definitely need S5 and maybe more to learn the whole story. There's a lot to tell in this story. I'm sure you're right about Reynolds and Vanessa keeping in contact over the years. Catherine was his daughter and it sounded like he had kept an eye on her from a distance over the years. I wonder what her Dad, Thomas, wanted to tell her the day he was struck down and I suspect it might have been Reynolds who killed him so Catherine wouldn't find out about him.
I hope Reynolds would have some compassion for his daughter and also Vincent, just knowing how much they love each other. I hope he does everything he can to help them. I really have the feeling that Reynolds a lot more than he's saying at the moment. He seems to give them a little bit of news at a time - this time it was for Catherine to look in the box that had her mom's things which Reynolds kept since she was shot. What else does he have that may shed light on the people behind these experiments and the experiments her mom was conducting. There's a lot more to Reynolds and the other thing that is still up in the air is, who was responsible for running down Daddy Chandler. Was Reynolds behind it - it sure looked that way since Reynolds picture was on Chandler's IPad. - remember that episode?
There's no question about it - "Both Sides Now" is going to be another emotional roller coaster ride. I'm on pins and needles too wondering how Vincent is going to be able to save Catherine and bring down this superhuman who seems to be more powerful than Vincent. How is Vincent going to change into his beast side is going to be a problem. Quite a dilemma for VinCat. I'm really worried for Vincent and Catherine in this one. That hooded superhuman did say "Come with me or your bride will die" (or something to that effect). This makes me think that the hooded superhuman has orders to bring Vincent in alive to the people behind these experiments. What laboratory are they in and where? I don't think Catherine is going to let them take Vincent away again - either she's going to go ballistic and kill this guy or Vincent has to do something to save Catherine and himself. OMG - I can't wait for Ivan and Barbara to give out a few hints when they see the episode on Sunday.
Yes - the only one that has humanity and Vanessa's most successful experiment in creating a "Super Soldier". I think they definitely want to see what makes Vincent tick and how he can manage his beast side. Vincent always did good even when he beasted out when that colonel was going to shoot Vanessa - remember that ? Vincent fought with that officer and that's when the officer cut his face, but Vincent saved Vanessa. He never just killed for the sake of killing. Vincent was very very different than G - G was insane and a killer as well.
Yes - very good deduction. Don't forget that crew were big shots - one was a judge, and the rest are all high ranking people. They could be the people behind all this, and it's very possible Cat's mother's crew, but for some reason, Reynolds seem to show up above all of them. He's too calm and what is he reading with all those books in his cell? He seems to be working very hard studying and making notes. There's a lot more to Reynolds that we need to find out.
"Chasing Ghosts" was another AWESOME episode. I love this roller coaster ride for season 3. Every episode has me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails. Excellent episode.
Yes, Reynolds picture was on Daddy Chandler's IPad. Remember when he got hit by that speeding car when he was on his way to meet Catherine? forgot which episode it was in S2, but it was close to the end of S2. Reynolds was also the one that shot G's girlfriend when she was on her way to make those pills G was taking. Daddy Chandler's IPad got damaged when he got hit by the car and Catherine took it when they called the ambulance to take her "father" to the hospital. She had the police lab technician try to fix it and he did. It had Reynolds picture on it. It looked like Daddy Chandler was on his way to talk to Catherine about Reynolds. Catherine didn't know a thing about Reynolds being her bio father yet. Chandler never got to tell her because he died in the hospital or did Reynolds make sure he didn't survive? Still a lot of questions about all that which we don't know about yet either.
It was S1, Ep. 22, the last one, which saw Reynolds coming "all that way" [where from, nobody knows] to finish his mission of killing all beasts, including Tyler, the Coward's girlfriend [did she actually die???] He kidnapped Vincent, kept him for 3 months [where???], erased his memory and re-programmed him as a super soldier. Reynolds definitely knows a lot more than what he is admitting so far
Yes, that's it - it was S1, Ep.22, and it was a cliffhanger. Reynolds threw a net down and caught Vincent in it. Catherine couldn't save him as the helicopter flew away to somewhere we never found out where.Tyler said "it's you" - and Reynolds shot her. Yes, he certainly knows a lot more than he's saying. He might have headed up Muirfield, but they never revealed it - yet anyway. Thanks for telling me it was S1, ep.22.
CATHERINE killing him, huh didn't think of that, i kind of like it. The superbeast wouldn't be as powerful as Vincent if Vincent hadn't been reprogrammed, remember the good old days when Vincent could treat a bullet would like a mosquito bite>
He did turn killer in S2, but those people he killed were other killer beasts. The she-beast's dad was a racketeer mobster and killer and the head of Muirfield (if he was the head of Muirfield) was a killer too so those two were justified kills along with the killer beasts that Vincent killed. None were just ordinary humans.
Reynolds certainly knew about the Proto-Beast Serum because he told Vincent he could track them because they were connected by blood. Reynolds seems to know an awful lot, but it only comes out in bits here and there.
........ and he was doing all that on orders from Daddy Reynolds, who programmed him, wiped out his memory, controlled his every move and five steps ahead of everybody
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI know right, I'm sure you agree that was such an emotional roller coaster ride, I'm in complete agreement with you on all counts:-)!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah - that was a real surprise. It made me think that the people or person behind these experiments might have been working with Catherine's mother. ReplyDeleteYeah - and that's why Reynolds must know who they are, or if he doesn't know, he has to suspect who these people might be. ReplyDeletebest episode this season - and can't wait for next week!

As much as he is untrustworthy i think he'd be on Vincat's side.
ReplyDeleteYeah his cell was very VIP like, not fully but he had books and stuff.
ReplyDeleteYeah i think as much as it cost Vincent a lot, he's the success Vanessa was wanting create right?
ReplyDeleteI'm with you - we'll definitely need S5 and maybe more to learn the whole story. There's a lot to tell in this story. Catherine didn't know a thing about Reynolds being her bio father yet. Chandler never got to tell her because he died in the hospital or did Reynolds make sure he didn't survive? Still a lot of questions about all that which we don't know about yet either.
ReplyDeleteIt was S1, Ep.
ReplyDeleteYes, that's it - it was S1, Ep.22, and it was a cliffhanger.
ReplyDeleteVincent turned all killer is Season 2 remember, the head of Muirfield, the She-Beast's dad, etc.
ReplyDeleteCATHERINE killing him, huh didn't think of that, i kind of like it. The superbeast wouldn't be as powerful as Vincent if Vincent hadn't been reprogrammed, remember the good old days when Vincent could treat a bullet would like a mosquito bite>
ReplyDeleteHe did turn killer in S2, but those people he killed were other killer beasts. The she-beast's dad was a racketeer mobster and killer and the head of Muirfield (if he was the head of Muirfield) was a killer too so those two were justified kills along with the killer beasts that Vincent killed. None were just ordinary humans.
ReplyDeleteReynolds certainly knew about the Proto-Beast Serum because he told Vincent he could track them because they were connected by blood. Reynolds seems to know an awful lot, but it only comes out in bits here and there.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what these rating numbers mean exactly but looks like "Chasing Ghosts" has the best rating for season 3. Best numbers in awhile.
ReplyDelete........ and he was doing all that on orders from Daddy Reynolds, who programmed him, wiped out his memory, controlled his every move and five steps ahead of everybody
ReplyDeleteYou mean heal himself? That was great, may be he will regain this ability, somehow??
ReplyDeleteHe still killed without remorse.
ReplyDeleteI would hope so but no i don't think he will ever have his accelerated healing back.
ReplyDeleteLoved it this is season is awesome
ReplyDeleteCat is being so annoying (I'm halfway through) and she is getting on my nerves. So much complaining and avoiding her family.
