Thanks to RD for the heads up
The BBC just announced a 10th series of Doctor Who - thought you may have missed it.
News of more episodes beyond this year's latest 12-part run was hidden away on page 32 of the BBC Worldwide Annual Review.
Matters listed as under review in the past year include "investments in The Musketeers S3 and Doctor Who S10".
We've known since February that The Musketeers would be returning for a third series, but this is the first official confirmation of more Doctor Who - to air presumably in 2016.
Series nine of Doctor Who - starring Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman - will launch September 19 on BBC One.

No surprise at all but good to have confirmation anyway.
ReplyDeleteI always tend to think of this show as just going until someone says "oh, time to cancel it", rather than "are we renewing it this year?" if that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that I didn't buy into getting that "complete' Doctor Who Blu Ray set that was selling a couple years ago after I think season/series 7, would have been a big waste since I'm almost certain once this does end for good it'll have another complete set to buy.
ReplyDeleteYep, pretty much this. Plus, Moffat has already confirmed that he will be showrunner for S10 too, so that was confirmation in itself, lol.
ReplyDeleteYAYAYAY!!
ReplyDeleteNot surprised - the real news is will Capaldi reprise the role or will there be another regeneration?
ReplyDelete... and how much longer Jenna will stay given there was rumours she was going to leave since the beginning of last season.
ReplyDeleteI think Capaldi will reprise the role.
ReplyDeleteI hate complete boxsets of shows that get released when the show is still on air.
ReplyDeleteBEG Jenna to return but she won't :'( 99% sure. So I want a male companion or a girl that won't fall in love with the Doctor. Clara has to be the last love of his. Moffat grant my pray or I will die...!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Great news!
ReplyDeleteThat too - new Companions are almost as talked about as new Doctors!
ReplyDeleteI hope so. I like his Doctor and I hope his run is at least as long as Matt's.
