Updated - 7/1/15 - There is lots of confusion over Rule #2 so I wanted to clarify. I will not pull your vote if you nominate characters from the same show (although that may be how it is next year.) Instead what I was trying to iterate was that because there can be only 1 character to represent each show, by nominating more than one you are in effect cancelling out both nominations. It's kind of like having 2 characters going against each other in a head-to-head poll and voting for both. It doesn't help either character get into the contest and puts them in direct contention with each other. I hope that's a bit clearer. Questions? Either put them in the comments below or e-mail me at dahne@spoilertv.com
Since the Episode Competition will come to a close this week, it is time to nominate your favorites for the Character Cup. If you haven't participated in the Cup before on SpoilerTV, it's basically a fun contest to pass the hiatus. There's nothing serious about it. People nominate their favorite characters (male and female, current and/or ended) and the top 64 characters go head-to-head to choose a favorite. Let me stress that this contest has NOTHING to do with the "best" character, which is subjective, or the best acted character, also subjective, or most influential character, you guessed it - still subjective. It is simply a way to show your favorite characters some love and pass the time until the fall season starts. So think back on all those great TV shows you've watched in the past or are watching now. Who are your favorites?
While the Character Cup works the same way as other SpoilerTV summer contests, there are some differences. The biggest is that each show can be represented by only 1 character. This allows more shows to be represented and more people to participate. If a show has a number of characters who are close in nominations, then I will hold a nominating poll so that the fandom can choose their champion. Another change is that unlike the Favorite Show Contest, once a character wins this competition they are retired. That means that LOST's Jack Shephard and Supernatural's Dean Winchester and Castiel cannot run again. This keeps people from grousing that the same people win all the time. For me though, the best difference is the TV Talk Topic. Each day there is a new TV topic to discuss so even if you don't have anyone to vote for that day, you can still be part of the conversation. If you have any great TV Talk topics, please add them to the nomination form. Last year we had great discussions about TV spin-offs, villains, heroes, TV pet peeves, recurring characters, kids on TV, and lots more.
Nomination Rules:
1. Only 1 Submission per person. If you submit multiple times ALL your submissions will be removed.
2. You can nominate up to 2 males and 2 females but they must be on the same nomination form. Nominating more than 1 character from the same show will result in cancelling out your votes. Only 1 character per show can get into the contest so try to nominate from a variety of shows.
3. Only nominations with both the character AND the TV show will be included. Also please use the character's full name if you can. Remember that while I watch a lot of shows, I don't watch everything. I had no idea last year that Daenerys Targaryen and Khaleesi were the same person.
4. Please do NOT nominate Jack Shephard (LOST), Dean Winchester (Supernatural), or Castiel (Supernatural). These characters are already past winners and therefore cannot run again. Any nominations for them will not be counted.
5. While this is only the nominating stage, it's a great idea to talk up your character in the comments section. Last year we had several characters that people wished they had nominated but forgot about. This is especially true for shows that are not currently airing.
6. Nominations end Saturday at noon CST. Nominating polls will begin on Sunday or Monday.
7. Questions? Ask in the comments below.
note: me entering Niklaus Mikaelson under "female" is fully intentional ;)
ReplyDeleteCool, another one. I had forgotten that past characters were also eligible for this one. Damn, I want to make nominations but it is always so hard. I didn't for the episode competition but I think I should try to make them strategically here, voting for characters who wouldn't otherwise make it. I have to give it some thought.
ReplyDeleteAnd we start. I had such a great time with this contest last year, thanks in part to all the fantastic discussions we had. I can't wait to talk TV with you again this year.
ReplyDeleteJust a reminder that this is just a fun little contest. Keep it light, Keep it fun. Talk enthusiasticly about what you love about TV. Speaking of, what do you want to talk about this year?
It feels so odd to nominate a character and Dean not be among them.
ReplyDeleteI went with my next in line favorites:
Boyd Crowder
Stiles Stilinski
Octavia Blake
Peggy Carter
I have no idea what this means but duly noted.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to get a Suits character in, but which one!!
ReplyDeleteThe best thing people can do at this stage is talk up the people they nominated. Good characters often get left out because people think more of their current favorites. I would love to see Walter from Fringe in the contest this year.
ReplyDeletemaking fun of the character behaving like a 3 year old girl ^^
ReplyDeleteYou do know this makes me want to make a list. I love this. I'll be up all night working on it. After I watch Teen Wolf/Scream/Zoo that is.
ReplyDeleteSome random suggestions:
ReplyDelete- How to decide when to binge watch and when to watch weekly
- Pairings of shows that go well together when watching (what I mean is that there are some shows I always try to watch together since I think they "fit" well with one another)
- Short Orders vs. Long Orders
- How to avoid the trap of big declines in second seasons for shows with short orders (aka: how to keep the interest alive during the hiatus)
- What defines an underrated and overrated show
Maybe I'll think of some more when I submit the form!
I am fairly certain that Stiles is going to be one of my nominees too. I spent the weekend watching YouTube clips of season 3B and was totally rocked again. Man do I love that season.
ReplyDeleteYou read my mind!!!! I was about to post a message saying "Ok, Suits fans, let's decide whether we get Donna or Harvey in" ahahah
ReplyDeleteDigital Spin-offs!
ReplyDeleteLike doing an Arrow Birds of Prey spin-off for theCW Seed. 6 episodes, each 10 minutes long, filmed in one go (like crackle's Chosen) in a week and more material for the fanbase.
I could see this being done for recurring characters on popular shows. Like Nyssa Al Guhl/Huntress/Sara saving hostages out of a building, young John Winchester hunting monsters, Deathlok doing badass stuff and things like that.
Like "Play it Again, Dick"
These are good ideas. I really want to read peoples opinions on what makes a show underrated/overrated.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I was hoping people would do...and why I finished the list this weekend so I wouldn't have to think so hard today. I have to save all my anxiety for Scott and Stiles tonight. Oh and Team Parent of course.
ReplyDeleteAfter your YT vids, I think I had a Dark Stiles marathon. I couldn't stop. Dylan O'Brien was just so good.
ReplyDeleteYes. But I want to understand what the feeling is too. For instance, two characters that are musts for me are Peggy Carter and Barry Allen. But I think both of those will make it regardless of what I do so I think my nominations are better used helping other people out
ReplyDeleteGet enough votes in for them and they will both be in a nominating poll where the fandom can choose which one they want to represent them.
ReplyDeletelove all suggestions but especially the one of short orders vs. long ones. That's been a question I've cracked my head over a few times already. On the one hand: more content = more viewers but on the other less forced content gives the spotlight to major content.
ReplyDeleteFor me it would be Harvey or Louis. Rick Hoffman is pure comedy/dramedy gold but Harvey is so badass.
ReplyDeleteI really need a show where Jere Burns (Duffy from Justified and Rick Hoffman have a face off)
I was trying to avoid using two of my nominations on them though. Soo many people to nominate, it is so hard!
ReplyDeleteI'm leaning towards Harvey but there are more male characters I want to nominate as well! This is way more difficult than I remember it being last year :P
ReplyDeleteDahne I'm very excited for this Character cup! I have nominated Nolan Ross, Emily Thorne/Amanda Clarke and Victoria Grayson from Revenge and Barry Allen from the Flash! Interested to see what will happen!
ReplyDeleteI won't nominate Louis, he is my least favorite part of the show - too much a caricature for my personal taste, although yes, he is funny. I am up for Harvey though. Either Harvey or Donna are good with me
ReplyDeleteNow that's my kind of procrastination. I meant to add something about how I feel weird not having Dean on the list too, but I'm actually glad. Not only does it mean a new winner, but I also don't have to change my Disqus and Twitter avatars to the SpoilerTV Cup this year. People didn't recognize me online.
ReplyDeleteYes I am leaning Harvey as well, especially after him having had such an awesome premiere episode. But yes, there are also other males I want in, though some I feel are almost impossible like Phil Dunphy or Danny Castellano as much as I would like them to make it.
ReplyDeleteI forgot you did that. I change mine so much, I don't recognize myself.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely don't want to nominate more than one person from a show. That's true. Since only one character can get in, you in effect cancel out your own nominations when you do so. Plus it's not as much fun because we don't get as good of a variety.
ReplyDeleteI really hope that Nolan Ross does well in this completion. Nolan was always a comedic character who could lighten up the show when things were extremely Revenge-y. One of my favorite quotes by him was "ding dong the bitch is dead" which he said when Victoria died! Such a great line! Together Nolan Ross and Emily Thorne made up the devious team Nemily- my favorite ship of all time! Overall Nolan Ross is a great character!
ReplyDeletePeggy Carter was pure awesome this season. I am so glad her show got renewed.
ReplyDeleteIt's actually my strategy to NOT nominate the most popular characters, although sometimes that backfires too. I really want to vote for Fiona Glenanne from Burn Notice and Parker from Leverage but I don't think they will get in. I'll probably do it anyway just because those 2 females rock!
ReplyDeleteThe rules say only one character per show can be nominated. I'm not sure if you can re-do a submission or not.
ReplyDeleteI like the one character per show rule; but since we can only have 2 guys and 2 gals (not 4 of any gender), it would have been nice to have been allowed to vote for a guy and gal from the same show.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking that for Bellamy Blake, I'm debating on if I should rely on the rest of the fans to nominate him or not :/
ReplyDeleteBaby the one character from Supernatural that is both constantly consistent and awesome!
ReplyDeleteDidn't someone do a YT video to all Baby? I need to look for that but I'm sure I've watched it. It was like a love story to Baby.
ReplyDeleteAh, sorry you wasted your nomination then.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this, cheers Dahne!
ReplyDeleteI've nominated Athos (The Musketeers), The Doctor (Doctor Who), Demelza (Poldark) & Siobhan (Banshee). I also added a few topics suggestions too.
I'm actually hoping that the windfall from the episode contest will carry her into this one too. I have a policy not to nominate charcters with so few episodes but I do want to vote for her.
ReplyDeleteThere have been several. I think my favorite was Back in Black, but I can't find it.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvS0lZIgQhA
I could hug you Freda. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteRobert Fruin and I were discussing TV Talk Topics on Twitter and he made a great point about not remembering what we covered last year. I had to look them up myself. Since I don't want to re-do old topics when we've got so many new topics, here's a shorthand list of last year's:
ReplyDelete1. Top 4 characters (of a specific genre and time period) / Old vs. new TV
2. How has TV changed you?
3. Character arcs - best, worst, none, overplayed, future, spoilers interested in
4. Kids/teens in TV
5. Spin-offs
6. how watch TV - binge or weekly, live or DVR, social media effect
7. characters/genres not enough on TV and those too much on TV
8. pet peeves
9. fantasy Kickstarter
10. recurring characters
11. new characters
12. dropped shows - what makes you drop a show
13. heroes
14. villains
15. summer vs. fall TV
I would love if Demelza gets into the contest. She was a surprise and a delight. If I nominate The Musketeers, I'm going for Porthos though. Athos was a close second and I would have picked him last year probably. I loved the arc of Porthos meeting his father this season.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am trying to follow a similar one this year.
ReplyDeletePeggy is too awesome to follow our conventional rules. I will probably leave her out but hoping for real that she makes it following what happened in the episode competition, if she doesn't I will be furious with myself.
ReplyDeleteMy nominations are:
ReplyDeleteTyrion Lannister - Game of Thrones
Harold Finch - Person of Interest
Claire Fraser - Outlander
Juliet Burke - LOST
Why did i ever throw out my list from last year! Lol,now i'll be working on this for the next day or so. The one person i know i'll be submitting is Walter (John Nobel) in Fringe!
ReplyDeleteI'll be back!
not really, I didn't know who to nominate for the last spot so I just thought "screw it, let's just insert something funny"
ReplyDeleteJames Wesley - Daredevil
ReplyDeleteOliver Queen - Arrow
Root - Person of Interest
Laurel Lance - Arrow
I wish I saw this before I submitted! I added two topics that are similar to two of these. Anyway, thanks for this. It's handy.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, definitely Tyrion Lannister and Harold!
ReplyDeleteOk just very quickly and for sure having some horrible, horrible omissions that would forever leave he shamed, these are some of the people I would like to have in the competition (no particular order)
ReplyDelete- Juliet Burke (Lost) => one of my favorite character of all time
- Leo Fitz (Agents of Shield) => is the fandom going to vote for May again or do I have a shot here with this?
- Skye (Agents of Shield), though I prefer Fitz being the one that makes it
- Phil Dunphy (Modern Family)
- Olivia Pope (Scandal)
- Emily Thorne (Revenge)
- John Reese (Person of Interest)
- Danny Castellano (The Mindy Project)
- Jake Peralta (B99)
- Barry Allen (The Flash)
- Rick Grimes (The Walking Dead)
- Carol Peletier (The Walking Dead)
- Beth (The Walking Dead)
- Andrea (The Walking Dead)
- Harvey Specter (Suits)
- Donna Paulson (Suits)
- Sansa Stark (Game of Thrones) => I feel this one is pointless to try though... The odds of beating Arya or Tyrion are slim to none
- Jaime Lannister (Game of Thrones)
- Cersei Lannister (Game of Thrones)
- Peggy Carter (Marvel's Agent Carter)
- Connor Walsh (How to Get Away with Murder)
- Will Graham (Hannibal)
- Walter O'Brien (Scorpion)
- Nick Miller (New Girl)
- Bellamy Blake (The 100)
- William Masters (Masters of Sex)
- Jessica Huang (Fresh Off the Boat)
- Carol Pilbasian (The Last Man on Earth)
- Kimmy Schmidt (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt)
- Troy (Community)
- Regina Miller (Once Upon a Time)
- Diane Lockhart (The Good Wife)
- Temperance Brennan (Bones)
- Oliver Queen (Arrow)
- Sarah Lance (Arrow)
- Abby Griffin (The 100)
- Bash (Reign)
- Alison Hendrix (Orphan Black)
- Sebastian Monroe (Revolution)
- Penny Hartz (Happy Endings)
- Alexandra Udinov (Nikita)
- Alternative Olivia Dunham (Fringe)
- Peter Bishop (Fringe)
- Addison Montgmorey (Grey's Anatomy | Private Practice)
- Alex Karev (Grey's Anatomy)
- Amelia Shephard (Grey's Anatomy | Private Practice)
- Dexter Morgan (Dexter)
- Debra Morgan (Dexter)
- Alexander Mahone (Prison Break)
- Seth Cohen (The OC)
- Summer Roberts (The OC)
- Sawyer (Lost)
- Kate Austen (Lost)
- Desmond Hume (Lost)
- Allison Cameron (House M.D.)
- Thirtheen (House M.D.)
- Peter Petrelli (Heroes)
- Tracy Strauss (Heroes)
- Laura Roslin (Battlestar Galactica)
- Lee Adama (Battlestar Galactica)
- Karl Agathon (Battlestar Galactica)
- Brian Shafe (Aquarius)
I completely blanked on thinking of characters from older shows-Niles Crane is definitely on my "favorite characters" list, too. I love him. I also could've considered Lydia Deetz from the "Beetlejuice" cartoon (I adored her when I was a kid :D), Helga Pataki from "Hey Arnold", or Daria, if I were going to go with animated characters :).
ReplyDeleteAs it is, though, for male characters, I went with Spencer Reid and Abed Nadir, and for female ones, I went with Norma Bates and Annalise Keating. I'd really wanted to put "Sleepy Hollow" characters in here, too, but I love Ichabod, Abbie, and Jenny equally, so having to choose only one of them would be rather tough :p. But they're definitely part of my "characters I love" list in general.
I will for sure submit one for Juliet Burke. She is one of my favorite characters ever, from all times.
ReplyDeleteI adored Demelza, as I can only pick one person from the show it had to be her out of Ross, her and Verity, though all three could easily have been on the list for me. I've been thinking hard all week about who to go for from the Musketeers and it was a hard choice between Athos and Porthos if I'm honest. It was Tom's delivery of Athos' dry one liners and the story with Milday that just pipped it in the end for me though.
ReplyDeleteThe whole limiting one person from each show thing is tricky. I wanted Sansa Stark and John Reese in but I don't think any of them has the power to beat the other characters from their shows that are more popular
ReplyDeleteRoot and Finch from Person of Interest!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestions! We did the binge watch one last year, but I love the idea of pairing shows to watch. We are already scheduled to do one on the sophomore slump and keeping interest and ratings up is part of it. I'm particularly interested in that one after the Sleepy Hollow debacle. Short versus long seasons is perfect since there are a lot of opinions on that one and great examples of both. My only concern about under/overrated shows is that it could turn nasty pretty quickly, but people did such a great job of being civil and discussing contrary opinions last season that I'd love to see us try it. The terms are so overused these days and everyone has a completely different way of judging that. It would make for some great in-depth discussion. Thanks again for the ideas! I'm adding them to our list.
ReplyDeleteStefan Salvatore and John Reese for men.
ReplyDeleteSameen Shaw and Lexa for women.
I thought I'd change from always putting Emerson/Acker for POI.
You can only put one according to the rules.
ReplyDeleteI loved her on LOST. She's my favorite female character from the show and my fourth favorite overall behind Ben, Sawyer and Desmond.
ReplyDeleteNo problem, happy to help. And I agree that the under/over could get problematic. I really don't want that to happen. But Andy is always so quick to jump in when it it happening anyway, I think it could be kept in hand. I hope so at least!
ReplyDeleteYou can only put one person from one show.
ReplyDeleteThis was incredibly hard since there are so many great characters on TV.
ReplyDeleteAs of right now I went:
Female Characters:
-Clarke Griffin - The 100
-Emily Thorne - Revenge
By far my two favorites ladies on TV... well, Emily is gone since her quest for revenge is over (and so her show), so I had to honor her. Besides, I truly love Emily Thorne.
Clarke Griffin has evolved into one of the most interesting and complex characters on The 100, so I knew I had to go with her.
Honorable mentions: Raven Reyes (The 100), Octavia Blake (The 100), Regina Mills (Once Upon a Time), Peggy Carter (Agent Carter), Sue Heck (The Middle), Jessica Huang (Fresh off the Boat), Daenerys Targeryan (Game of Thrones), Donna (Halt and Catch Fire), Caitlin Snow (The Flash), Amy Farah Fowler (The Big Bang Theory), Kimmy Schmidt (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) among many others.
Male Characters:
-Tyrion Lanister - Game of Thrones.
-Matt Murdock - Darevil.
I struggled with leaving Bellamy Blake out, however I trust he will get enough votes. Tyrion and Matt are two of my favorites characters on TV, smart, conflicted and overall just awesome.
Honorable mentions: Nolan Ross, Bellamy Blake, Marcus Kane, Jarvis, Brick Heck, Barry Allan, Cisco Ramon,
Damnit. Then my nomination will go to Root.
ReplyDeleteTo me:
ReplyDelete1. Jack | Juliet
2. Jack | Juliet
3. Sawyer
4. Kate
5. Desmond
Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne/Professor Zoom- He was a great villain for the flash. He was very intelligent and was always 1 step ahead of team flash. Who knew that people would start rooting for the bad guy.
ReplyDeleteRoy Harper- Total badass and he went out the perfect and most clever way. He was the perfect sidekick and I hope to see him again next season.
Michonne: Complete badass with her sword. I love how she went against Rich this season in saying that the group should got to he ASZ. I hope to see more if her next season
Skye/Daisy- She has had great character development. With Mays training and her new powers, she's become a total badass Shield agent. I loved how she was strong enough mentally and physically to almost take her mother in the finlae before her father showed up to stop the mother s madness.
I don't think you can nominate two characters from the same show. Your vote will be canceled if you did so. I'm sure you can edit your vote, right?
ReplyDeleteYou can't nominate two characters from the same show. Vote will be canceled......
ReplyDeleteHmm, we talked about spin-offs last year but we never looked at digital, webisode type TV. I like that angle.
ReplyDeleteRick Grimes (Walking Dead) and Matt Murdock (Daredevil).
ReplyDeleteElizabeth Jennings(The Americans) and Sameen Shaw (POI)
Lucious Lyon
ReplyDeleteSheldon Cooper
Samantha Groves
Annalise Keating
Hmm, one of my three suggestions is similiar - why are superheroes 'in' at present? But the other two are fairly different - Favourite Brit shows, and favourite series finale ever?
ReplyDeleteone character per show so you can't choose both Oliver and Laurel
ReplyDeleteYou might want to put Root in parenthesis; I don't think that Dahne watches POI. She might not know that they are the same person.
ReplyDeleteAwesome to see a nomination for Roy Harper, he's my favourite in the show - though I'm not fully caught up yet, and although I know he leaves, I'm not quite sure how yet :(
ReplyDeleteErm..... that's what he did I think. None of the characters he mentioned are from one show,
ReplyDeleteOh, really?
ReplyDeleteI didn't even read that part.
John Reese and Sameen Shaw are both from POI.
ReplyDeleteShaw and Reese are from the same show.
ReplyDeleteNathan - OTH
ReplyDeleteEphram - Everwood
Donna - Suits
Katherine - TVD
I spent a lot of time thinking about all the characters I love, past and present this weekend. (Consider it my prime form of procrastination this time.) Actually I think it was you last year that reminded me of Niles. I went back through the comments from last season to help me compose the list. Abed and Keating are on my list as well. I would have gone for Reid except Garcia has the edge for me from Criminal Minds.
ReplyDeleteWell it said "full name". I aactually thought that Root was not enough. I submitted my vote anyway so it's too late.
ReplyDeleteFemale
ReplyDelete1. Oliver Queen (Arrow)
2. Phil Coulson (AOS)
Honorable Mention
Leron Jetho Gibbis (NCIS)
Rupert Giles (BTVS)
Sherlock Holmes (elementary)
John Diggle (Arrow)
Seely Booth (Bones)
Hotch (CM)
Spencer Reid (CM)
Dr. Rodney McKay (Stargate Atlantis)
Female Male
1. Buffy Summers (BTVS)
2. Veronica Mars (Veronica Mars)
Honorable Mention
Melinda May (AOS)
Skye/Daisy Johnson (AOS)
NIkita (NIkita)
So I messed up my thing already. Totally didn't read the part where I had to only vote for one person for one show.
ReplyDeleteI'm dumb, lol.
Sorry. I was unclear. People can nominate people from the same show if they want but it in effect makes their nominations null and void because only one person from that show can get in. That would be like voting for both things in a two-option poll. It changes nothing and wastes your vote. Personally I think it's more fun the more people nominated as well. Still I expect to have several people nominate 4 people from the same show like always.
ReplyDeleteOkay totally had a glitch for a second xD
ReplyDeleteGood way to pass the time, as far as I'm concerned :D. Now I'm sitting here thinking about all the characters I love-even on the shows I picked for this competition there's still other characters that'd be worthy of a spot (like Garcia, for instance. I love her about as much as I do Reid :)). I appreciate and fully agree with your decision to keep it to one character per show, but man, does that make it tough for those of us who love multiple characters in a series :p.
ReplyDeleteAw, neat! Happy to help remind you, then, if that's the case. Now you have me wanting to go back and look at that discussion, too.
Damn! I forgot we could nominate characters from ended shows!
ReplyDeleteHow am I supposed to choose just 2? You have made this insanely more difficult! Especially now that I'm catching up with Buffy and Angel!
Thanks for clearing that up.
ReplyDeleteReading is fundamental!
ReplyDeleteI am really excited for this as well. It's my favorite thing I do on SpoilerTV with Pitch Your Show as second. They are both so great at opening up discussion and allowing fans to be pasisonate about their shows. Just a reminder though that only 1 person per show can get in so if you would like to re-nominate to cover a bigger variety of shows, let me know and I'll take your first one out.
ReplyDeleteIt is tricky! I have to really think about this before i vote. Every time i think i have it someone else pops up. Ugh,it is hard, lol, but fun!
ReplyDeleteI'll go back and try to reword it, but only after Teen Wolf is over. I am constantly looking at the computer clock to make sure I don't miss it while enjoying the TV conversation here already.
ReplyDeleteTalking up your character like this is a great way to start.
ReplyDeleteThese nominations just opened and they're already a hit. I love this place.
ReplyDeleteKinda hard to do when you're doing four things at once.
ReplyDeleteHe could have been my favorite character on the show if it wasn't because I love Emily beyond reason.
ReplyDeleteI often get accused of being evil by limiting the character to one per show but in the end it means that more characters and more shows and most importantly, more fandoms get to play along. For me that's win-win, even if it makes things more difficult at the beginning. For the record, people also get frustrated when I only allow them to choose one option in the Best Scene polls, but that provides for the best conversation.
ReplyDeleteNothing like a little friendly competition to liven things up, huh :D?
ReplyDeleteI love doing this in part because it's a great way to pass the months while waiting for our shows to return. Tomorrow's the first of July already, it feels like the summer is moving pretty briskly.
Ha! I love it. If I have to agonize over my choices, I am happy you guys in in pain over it too. :-P Buffy and Angel have a lot of characters that could do well in this contest. I hope one of them makes it in.
ReplyDeleteI'm eyeing the clock too. I'm recording Zoo so I can watch TW live.
ReplyDeleteHindsight in nominating is one of my big early frustrations too. Plus I always seem to have 2 characters I want to make it to round 4 or beyond that meet in the first round. Between these two, contests can get "tearing your hair out" stressful.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you. I think that's the best, most fair way to do things. I also respect your decision to take some particularly popular characters who have won out of the running this year, too. Nice to give other people a chance.
ReplyDeleteHa, yeah, that can be tough sometimes, for sure. Says something about the quality of an episode if you have a hard time picking just one favorite scene from it, though, so there's that :).
I was thinking that today. It just started getting really hot here (103) but it's almost July! It's flying by. I was thinking I had months and long months of that hot weather. Nope. Just two. It'll be Fall and fall TV before we know it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for suggesting it on Twitter. I appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteI love those last two ideas already. I have my answers ready.
ReplyDeleteWhoever makes it has my full support since there is no main character on Buffy or Angel I dislike. Well, Dawn is the exception, I don't care much for her :P: But aside from that so many great choices! Giles, Willow, Anya, Cordelia, Wesley... these are 2 shows that just have incredible characters! Guess that's how they became so succesful in the first place.
ReplyDeleteAthos and Milady were a high point of both seasons for me. I hope she returns because I can't see the show without her. I thought Ross from Poldark too but I seem to have more of an abundance of male characters than female.
ReplyDeleteI feel for anyone who's suffering that kind of heat. We've been unusually lucky here in recent years-the last couple summers have been relatively cool. On average we're hitting the low to mid '80s most days here. Hoping that trend will continue-we usually don't start getting that kind of heat here until July/August, so guess we'll see if the weather continues to be kind to us or not :p.
ReplyDeleteI love fall. It's my second favorite season (winter being the first). So I always look forward to its return in and of itself. The fact that many of my favorite shows return then is just a really nice bonus :).
Best finales is on this year's list but I might expand on it. I love the idea of talking about international shows as well. Maybe include things about international viewing to expand it. Thanks for the suggestions.
ReplyDeleteI voted chandlar-friends , angel- buffy/angel, regina- OUAT & spencer hastings- pll
ReplyDeleteOoh, favorite British shows could be fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for nominating. Last year Chandler was my biggest surprise. He went all the way until round 4, which is a fantastic feat for a show that's been off the air so long. He is extremely popular on SpoilerTV.
ReplyDeleteI've reached out to a couple of Poldark sites, so I'm hoping there's fans active on them atm who will nominate too.
ReplyDeleteOk I finally managed to choose. Here's who I nominated:
ReplyDeleteWolfgang - Sense8
Mickey Milkovich - Shameless (US)
Vanessa Ives - Penny Dreadful
Donna Paulsen - Suits
I was going to nominate Scott McCall since he's still my all-time favourite character but Stiles will likely make it through instead and I didn't want to waste a vote, plus Scott already has a big following anyway so if he was to get through he wouldn't need my help.
I decided to nominate Donna instead of Harvey from Suits because there were less female characters I wanted to nominate. I'm still hoping both Harvey (Suits) and Bellamy (The 100) make it in though.
Thanks for doing this Dahne, I'm really looking forward to it :) The TV talk topics especially. There's probably lots of possible talk topics I just couldn't think of any while filling in the form :/
Since Dahne did one too, here's my nomination pile (in a random order):
Males:
Scott McCall (Teen Wolf), Nicholas Rush (Stargate Universe), Will Gorski & Lito Rodriguez (Sense8), Bellamy Blake & Finn Collins (The 100), Harvey Specter & Mike Ross (Suits), Jack O' Neill (Stargate SG-1), James Cole (12 Monkeys), Shawn Farrell (The 4400), John Kennex & Dorian (Almost Human), Lee Adama, William Adama & Karl Agathon (BSG), Leonardo Da Vinci (Da Vinci's Demons), Alex Karev (Grey's Anatomy), Wes Gibbons & Connor Walsh (HTGAWM), David Nolan & Neal Cassidy (OUAT), Sir Malcolm & Ethan Chandler (Penny Dreadful), Walter O' Brien (Scorpion), Stefan Salvatore (TVD), Grant Ward (AOS), Mike Delfino & Andrew Van De Kamp (Desperate Housewives), Eric Murphy (Entourage), Tom Chandler (The Last Ship), The Doctor (Star Trek: Voyager).
Females:
Clarke Griffin, Raven Reyes & Octavia Blake (The 100), Peggy Carter (Agent Carter), Laura Roslin & Six (BSG), Piper, Paige & Phoebe Halliwell (Charmed), Kiera Cameron (Continuum), Lynette Scavo, Gabrielle Solis, Edie Britt & Bree Van De Kamp (Desperate Housewives), Rachel Green, Monica Gellar & Phoebe Buffay (Friends), Annalise Keating (HTGAWM), Rachel Scott (The Last Ship), Regins Mills (OUAT), Spencer Hastings (PLL), Riley & Sun (Sense8), Kathryn Janeway & Seven of Nine (Star Trek: Voyager), Jessica Pearson (Suits).
Ha! I love it. We already have over 60 nominations and more TV Talk Topics than we technically need. I love the enthusiasm and fun already.
ReplyDeleteI was unclear. You can vote for more than one person per show but it is in essence like voting for both people in a 2-person poll. It cancels your vote out because only 1 person can be in the contest. If you decide you would like to re-nominate knowing this, please let me know and I will take out your original nomination.
ReplyDeleteTime for Teen Wolf. I'll be back to answer any questions in an hour. Thanks to everyone who has nominated or discussed already.
ReplyDeleteI can't choose between my favourite characters from ended TV shows, that would be the true definition of mission impossible. I decided to choose from shows currently on air.
ReplyDeleteMale #1: Oliver Queen - Arrow
Male #2: Derek Shepard - Grey's Anatomy (R.I.P Derek :( I will always love you)
Female #1: Iris West - The Flash
Female #2: Amy Farrah Fowler - The Big Bang Theory (I'm really surprised by this nomination, but I couldn't get her out of my mind.)
I wasn't a fan of Kate at all. I hated the back and forth romance with Sawyer and Jack.
ReplyDeleteYou and 80% of the online fandom lol. I suffered a lot in the boards back then being a fan of hers. On the other hand, I never could stand John Locke and that got enough hate thrown at me for a lifetime of unpopular opinions lol
ReplyDeleteThis was so hard! I went with:
ReplyDeleteAntonio Dawson (Chicago PD)
Tim Riggins (Friday Night Lights)
Leslie Shay (Chicago Fire)
Cristina Yang (Grey's Anatomy)
I really wanted to vote for Peter Mills, but Shay already had my vote for Chicago Fire.
Oh, thanks for clarifying. I was sitting here worrying because I thought I messed up my nomination!
ReplyDeleteOh I love Alex Karev. But my vote went with Cristina Yang who will always be my favorite Grey's Anatomy character.
ReplyDeleteYes I would love to denominate if that's possible!
ReplyDeleteVanessa Ives - Penny Dreadful
ReplyDeleteCosima Niehaus - Orphan Black
Tyrion Lannister - Game Of Thrones
Raymond 'Red' Reddington - The Blacklist
This was tough but I voted for:
ReplyDeleteDerek Shepherd - Greys Anatomy
Not only because he died, which is definitely a reason (still mourning), but because over eleven seasons he has won over my heart. Dempsey was wonderful on the show. His character was so well-rounded, in terms of being dreamy yet flawed.
Chandler Bing - Friends
My favorite character ever.
Robin Scherbatsky - How I Met Your Mother
Loved her character mainly because I could easily relate to her.
Jane Villanueva - Jane the Virgin
Simply because Gina Rodriguez kicks ass on this show.
Honorable mentions:
Male characters: Tyrion Lannister (GOT), Nathan Scott (OTH), Will McAvoy/Charlie Skinner (The Newsroom), Danny Castellano (Mindy Project), Jack Bauer (24), Philip Jennings (Americans), Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock), Damon Salvatore (TVD)
Female characters: Cristina Yang/Meredith Grey/Callie Torres (Greys Anatomy), Haley James (OTH), Donna Paulson (Suits), Mindy Lahiri (Mindy Project), Norma Bates (Bates Motel), Kate Austen (Lost), Elizabeth Jennings (Americans)
I wasn't a huge fan of him either to be honest, lol. Luckily, I wasn't really posting on forums back then or otherwise I would have got a lot of hate as well.
ReplyDeleteI probably would have voted for Walter Bishop but I wanted to submit different ones than having the same as last year. I loved Fringe and he was easily my favorite character and he's a really good contender for my favorite character ever. John Noble was born to play the role.
ReplyDeleteI HATE nominating for the Character Cup; there are simply TOO MANY characters that I want to nominate. : (
ReplyDeleteThat said, here are my nominations:
Male Character #1 - Athos - The Musketeers
Male Character #2 - Cullen Bohannon - Hell on Wheels
Female Character #1 - Claire Fraser - Outlander
Female Character #2 - Demelza Carne Poldark - Poldark
Females only:
ReplyDelete1.Perky psycho Root ( Sam Groves), POI, cause she's hot and she's good with a gun, two qualities I greatly admire:) But seriously, she is smart, badass, she can be funny and full-on scary when in her psycho mode and Amy Acker is doing a great job with her..
2. Clark, The 100, another strong female character on a good show
Oh Christina! I actually forgot about her. I know, that's shocking. I really miss her on Grey's. It hasn't been the same since she left. Well, I certainly haven't enjoyed it as much.
ReplyDeleteSayid Jarrah - Lost (The most compelling Lost character for me; Not as extreme as Locke or Jack)
ReplyDeleteRumplestiltskin - Once Upon a Time (An interesting, multi-layered character in a show increasingly populated by boring, predictable character arcs)
Emily Thorne - Revenge (All-Around Awesome character, one of the best I've ever seen in television)
Jemma Simmons - Agents of SHIELD (Made a few bad decisions this season, but still a genuine, loyal character)
Honorable Mentions: Hugo Reyes/Hurley (Lost), Desmond Hume (Lost), Nolan Ross (Revenge), Victoria Grayson (Revenge), Leo Fitz (Agents of SHIELD), Belle (Once Upon a Time), August (Once Upon a Time), Brooke Davis (One Tree Hill), Carol Peletier (The Walking Dead), Tyreese (The Walking Dead), Michonne (The Walking Dead), Chloe Sullivan (Smallville), Raven Reyes (The 100), Fox Mulder (The X Files), Dana Scully (The X Files), Stannis Baratheon (Game of Thrones)
Woohoo! One of my favorite competitions of the year :-)
ReplyDeleteNominations are:
Stiles Stilinski - Teen Wolf
**Scott and Stiles are my favorite currently airing bromance. While I adore Scott, Stiles will always be my favorite (smart and snarky - what's not to love?). PS. for those who were turned off by the less than stellar S4 of TW - I promise you, the S5 premier is better than all of S4 combined! Can't wait for tonight's episode!
Matt Murdock - Daredevil
**Any show that I'd rather watch than sleep is a damn good show - I've never read the comics but I loved how he wasn't a badass right away. I love my Avengers but I connected to this character much more because I got to see how he came to be Daredevil.
Clarke Griffin - The 100
I watched a couple S1 episodes last weekend and this character is completely unrecognizable as the Clarke in the S2 finale and the Clarke of the S1 premier. This kind of character development (and not just Clarke but many others as well) in only 26 episodes is the reason this show is must watch TV for me.
Olivia Dunham - Fringe
Found Fringe thru the Episode Competition a week or so ago - and I'm almost done with S2 already! I love that Olivia can be vulnerable and save herself at the same time.
This was very hard! I thought about my four current TV favorites & chose to go with one all-time fav:
ReplyDeleteClarke Griffin (The 100), Helena (Orphan Black), Rick Grimes (TWD), Ben Linus (LOST).
I don't think Clarke or Helena will get enough votes for their respective shows, but I find both their characters most special and complex so I couldn't vote any other way!
**Honorable Mentions**:
Cookie Lyon (Empire... would be my #4 current favorite), Octavia Blake (The 100), Carol Peletier (TWD), Cristina Yang (Grey's Anatomy), Juliet Burke (LOST)
Walter Bishop (Fringe), Coach Taylor (Friday Night Lights), Bellamy Blake (The 100), Saul Berenson (Homeland), Ron Swanson (Parks and Recreation)
YESSSSSSS! I love this competition :) My nominations are:
ReplyDeleteBenjamin Linus - Lost
Gregory House - House
Vanessa Ives - Penny Dreadful
Clarke Griffin - The 100
I'm giving new shows a chance this year, so new characters as well.
ReplyDelete- MATT MURDOCK (Daredevil): Probably my favorite show this year, and Murdock is one of the main reasons for that.
- MAJOR LILYWHITE (iZombie): Mostly because I was impressed (and glad) that he wasn't simply the pretty boy and the love interest. He had a real purpose during season 1, plus he was a total badass in the season finale.
- LIV MOORE (iZombie): She has a lot of Veronica Mars in her, and for that, she gets my nomination.
- PEGGY CARTER (Agent Carter): I'll be honest, I didn't understand what all the fuzz was about, she didn't make much of an impression for me in the first Captain America. But after watching this show, I can see why everyone is so crazy about her.
Oh my, I'm an idiot too! And I did read the rules! I nominated for 2 iZombie characters, one male, one female...so I'm out, right?
ReplyDeleteOkay, could you take out my original nomination then?
ReplyDeleteI nominated Harvey Specter and Wade Kinsella / Zoe Hart and Clarke Griffin
ReplyDeleteShe's my favorite character from the series. I've really missed her this year.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think I forgot to put my name on my submission. Oops. Dahne, can you check and see? I just want to make sure my nominations went through.
ReplyDeleteMike Heck, Sue Heck, Burt Harrison, and Linda Belcher
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure Bellamy will represent The 100. It depends on how the fandom reacts to Clarke's choice. My guess is she will be the one to represent The 100.
ReplyDeleteShe is the one character in all of TV who has never let me down. Loyal, quick in a crisis, and able to withstand more angst than any character should ever be required to. You might say that it's her superpower. There is no one like Baby.
ReplyDeleteHow can anyone not fall in love with this character? They say Dean and Pie are Supernatural's OTP. I know it's Dean and Baby. I'll fight anyone who doesn't agree immediately.
ReplyDeleteGiles is one of my favorite TV parental figures of all time. He's often overlooked but I would love to have the chance to vote for him.
ReplyDeleteI actually did not vote for Walter last season and I bitterly regretted it so it's probably going to be Walter and Stiles on the male side for me. Two great characters that have basically nothing in common.
ReplyDeleteThey looked great together after all of these years. I am cautiously excited about the reboot.
ReplyDeleteI took out your old nomination so feel free to renominate. The box at the bottom is for our TV Talk Topics. Once the contest starts in earnest, we will have a discussion topic of the day. That way people who don't have any character to vote for can still play along. It's a great way for people to share their love of TV and also find new great shows to watch.
ReplyDeleteGreat! Poldark could end up being the Outlander and Dominion of last year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your great suggestions. I have a feeling Tyrion will be very popular this year, even more than last year.
ReplyDeleteI only watched the first 2 seasons of LOST but Locke was by far my least favorite character. It stunned me when I first came to SpoilerTV and saw all the Locke love.
ReplyDeleteHa! I cheated. For part of my list, I went back to the comments I made during the last competition. So glad you are nominating Walter. There will be at least 2 of us.
ReplyDeleteThis is impossible. I love it!
ReplyDeleteDean and Jack are two of my all-time favorites, so their exclusion forced me to think extra hard. Tried to stick with current shows and recent seasons; otherwise I would never get past LOST and Seinfeld. Not content with my picks, but so be it. There's always next year.
Picks:
Athos (The Musketeers)
Sherlock Holmes (Elementary)
Ellie Miller (Broadchurch)
Jody Mills (Supernatural)
Honorable mentions:
Sam Winchester (Supernatural)
James Hathaway (Lewis)
John Watson (Sherlock)
Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock)
Porthos (The Musketeers)
The Doctor (Doctor Who)
Leroy Jethro Gibbs (NCIS)
Lady Mary Crawley (Downton Abbey)
Intentionally did not nominate any freshman show characters, as I want to see more of their arcs. But the ones I considered were:
Matt Murdock (Daredevil)
Sidney Chambers (Grantchester)
You can choose both characters but in essence you will be cancelling out your own nomination because only one character can advance. I recommend spreading the love and getting the most out of your nominations.
ReplyDeleteYou can keep these nominations. The only thing is that by nominating 2 from the same show, you are cancelling out your own vote. It's like voting for both people in a 2-person poll. You're sharing the love but it doesn't advance the character. It's up to you. If you would like me to take out this nomination so you can re-nominate just let me know.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, awesome list. I would say May or Coulson has the better chance of getting into the contest than Fitz but Skye could definitely get there too. Sansa Stark would be a very long shot. If nominations are anything like last time, it won't even be close. I think Tyrion had more nominations than 11 other GoT characters put together. Only Arya came close. I'm guessing Keating takes H2GAwM as well.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to see someone who prefers Alt-Liv too. I thought that character rocked on Fringe. If it weren't for the deep bond I feel for the Walter and Peter relationship, she would be my favorite. Or Nina.
I have a feeling both will be very popular in this contest.
ReplyDeleteI have taken out the original nomination so feel free to nominate again. Thanks for participating.
ReplyDeleteI think I have to submit my submission again as I never press submit form button......
ReplyDeleteYou can, but it would be like cancelling out your nomination since only one can be in the contest.
ReplyDeletePicks:
ReplyDeleteConnar Walsh, HTGAWM
Barry Allen, the Flash
Emily Thorne, Revenge
Annalise Keating, HTGAWM
TV Topic: Revenge season 4: Hit or fail? I would like to really Talk about that with more people
You should be able to edit your nomination. However it is usually easiest to just let me know that you want your original nomination tossed and I can do that for you. You can nominate 2 characters from the same show but that is in essence cancelling out your own nominations because those characters would be running against each other.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea Shaw's name was Sameen. Interesting. I would love to see Lexa or Octavia take the nomination for The 100. So many kick butt women on that show.
ReplyDeleteI actually think the nomination part is the hardest thing about this contest. The actual voting, while it can get difficult if you're unlucky, is still much easier than narrowing things down to 4 characters. I think Clarke will be well-represented and it would not surprise me to see Emily make the contest either. I'd say Tyrion is a shoe-in if things are anything like last year. My way dark horse favorite for a nod is Jessica from FotB.
ReplyDeleteI was shocked that they killed Wells off so soon on The Flash. I too thought he was a fantastic villain - smart, patient, capable. That's my favorite kind. Very cool that you nominated Roy too. He was one of my favorite things about Arrow.
ReplyDeleteGood to see The Americans getting some love here. I will be interested in seeing how many nominations MM gets. I am guessing he sails into the contest with all the Daredevil love but he's one that could be overlooked given the binge-watch formula of the show.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that Root was Samantha Groves so I'm glad you said something. I would have counted her as a totally different character.
ReplyDeleteI made a note that Samantha Groves is Root so that's fixed. Nice to see Annalise Keating getting nominated. I think that was the best acted character of the season. So powerful.
ReplyDeleteAwww, my beloved Ephram getting some nomination love. I adore it! He is still one of my favorite older brother characters ever to grace TV. He sucked me in right from the start with how protective he was of Delia. I still miss Everwood.
ReplyDeleteI should be interesting to see which Arrow character previals, Oliver or Felicity. Last year Felicity won, no questions asked but it may be closer this year. I love how people are remembering Giles in this contest. He's still one of my favorite male characters of all time. The way he thought of Buffy, and by extension the entire gang, as a daughter touched my heart every time. I would love to see Veronica Mars back in this contest as well. She was a smart, courageous female teen at a time when teens needed good TV role models.
ReplyDeleteNo problem. Let me know if you want me to invalidate your first nomination to create a new one.
ReplyDeleteI love the variety in your nominations. I agree that if anyone from Teen Wolf gets in, it is likely Stiles. Still the show is not near as popular here as it once was so here's hoping the stellar premiere gets people excited about the show again. I too had more male than female characters so that did change my nominations a little.
ReplyDeleteIf you come up with any TV Talk topics, etiher put them in these comments or e-mail me. We already have over 20, which is more than we need. I love that. I will be combining some and adding to others, but I think we've got a great variety - something for everyone.
Thanks so much for adding your Honorable Mentions. I love looking at what people did not nomiante even more than what they did because there are always great characters in them. Your list made me miss The 4400. I loved the Shawn character. I keep intendingon trying out DaVinci's Demons, especially since he made the Character Cup last year and I had never hear dof him before. I would love if Chandler from The Last Ship or Octavia from The 100 got in too,
It will be interesting to see if Derek Shepard gets a boost in this contest. Last time it was Sandra Oh's character that got the most nominations. It might be very close this time. It's good to see TBBT on here too. For such a massive show, it doesn't get to represent itself very often in these contests.
ReplyDeleteI not sure if I submitted my nomination as I might not have press the submitted form. I not sure if I should resubmitted the form.
ReplyDeleteI believe that vernonica Mars was nomianted before as well as Buffy but never make it fair......they might have a chance if the competition was done a few years but 10 years later a lot has change
I love that you included Friday Night Lights in here. I really want a character from a cancelled show to take the top prize or a female. It's time. Christina Yang did decently in the contest last year.
ReplyDeleteIf you used arrowshieldfan as your name, then no I did not give it. If you used a different one, then let me know and I will check for you. Buffy actually went really far in the first Character Cup we did and I think did decently in the second too. I don't remember how well VM did.
ReplyDeleteBarry Allen, Wes Gibbins, Annalise Keating and Caroline Forbes.
ReplyDeleteReally tough one.
Orphan Black is always an interesting one for this contest. It's the opposite of the Doctor Who question. It should be interesting to see which clone makes it in. I still need to catch up on the last half of The Blackilst but I heard it's really good.
ReplyDeleteNice to see Jane nominated. I will always appreciate that show for putting The CW on the major awards map. Chandler seems to be many people's favorite character. Last year I thought he'd go out in the first round but he soared in the contest. It was my biggest surprise. I won't underestimate him this year when I fill out my brackets.
ReplyDeleteIt does become challenging because we're basically talking about every character that has ever been on screen since TV began. Glad to see you narrowed it down. I'd love to see Demelza be the big surprise nominee this year. That character is awesome.
ReplyDeleteNo males for you? I have a feeling Root is going to be very popular in this contest and Clarke should go far too.
ReplyDeleteWhen I left LOST Sayid was my second favorite character after Charlie. It's great to see someone out of the normal 5 be nominated here. Simmons was my second favorite on SHIELD as well, after May. It's nice to see someone regonizing Chloe too.
ReplyDeleteI voted:
ReplyDeleteConner Walsh - HTGAWM
Nathan Scott - One Tree Hill (? I think, it was a couple hours ago and I was chopping and changing this nom like no tomorrow).
Elizabeth McCord - Madam Secretary
Erin Lindsay - Chicago PD
So glad you are liking Fringe. I hoped the Walter-Peter relationship would hook you. They really did a good job on making the characters multifaceted. Going back to early The 100 has been a shock to me as well. For lack of a better word, they seemed so innocent at first but that changed very quickly. Stiles is now my favorite character to be eligible for the contest. I am so thrilled that the premiere was aewesome and it feels like we are getting back to the thrills-a-minute ride Jeff Davis was known for.
ReplyDeleteI actually expect Clarke to represent The 100. I think she is the most dynamic character on the show this season and while she made some quesitonable choices, she's still the dynamic character of them all. I'm really interested to see how Empire as a whole does in this contest. It will foreshadow how it does in the Series Contest next time.
ReplyDeleteLove the mix of new and old characters here. It should be interesting to see how Vanessa does this time around. She got quite a few nominations last time.
ReplyDeleteYou're not an idiot. I was unclear. If you decide you want to re-nominate, just let me know and I'll take out your first one.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything you said about Major. He surprised me as a character, which was one of the things I liked best about this great show. Agent Carter was a force to be reckoned with. Loved her.
Thanks for nominating. I think Clarke is going to do well here.
ReplyDeleteThe Hecks I know. Where are Burt and Linda from?
ReplyDeleteNominating is definitely the hardest stage. I too decided not to consider any freshman shows, if only to make my choice a little easier. It's good to see Sherlock getting some love here. I am worried about him for the next season. Jody is one of my all-time favorite recurring characters on SPN too.
ReplyDeleteIf you nominated as arrowshieldfan, then yes you will have to nominate again because I never got it. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteOur TV Talk Topics are far more general than that. We never concentrate on only one show because we are trying to generate the widest possible conversation so more people can participate. However people bring up examples of different shows all the time.
ReplyDeleteHa! I keep changing my mind too. I'm sure that when I do send it in I will immediately think of something different I wanted to nominate. It should be interesting to see if Conner or Annalise pull out the victory for H2GAwM.
ReplyDeleteVery tough, indeed. The good news is that the actual voting is often much, much easier.
ReplyDeleteOn MAN, this is even harder than nominating episodes! Especially given that it can be from any show, not just airing in the past year!
ReplyDeleteMy nominations are:
ReplyDeleteConnor Walsh (HTGAWM)
Michael Scofield (Prison Break)
Lily Aldrin (HIMYM)
Leslie Knope (Parks & Rec)
