Easiest question ever. Season 5 by far. I have never ever seen a show to lose ALL of it's quality so fast. It went literally from 100% amazing show to 0% least favorite show i was watching that year.
Thanks God Season 6 improved, eve tho it was not as amazing as 1-4
Season 5, easy. Seasons 1-3 were fun; 4 was a drop, but still had some enjoyable moments. Season 6 has been an improvement, with a great villain and a couple new dynamics that made things feel more fresh than they had been in a while; although not first three seasons good, it was better than the two that came before it. But season 5 bums me out. I no longer watch every week because of that season. The show was never one of my must sees, but it was a really fun watch for a long time for me. Now it's more of a catch up when I get the chance, very non-priority, and season 5 (and also kinda season 4, but 5 really sealed the deal) is why.
Everyone knows s5 was the worst but I'm surprised at people disliking s6. I really enjoyed the focus on the core group, especially after the travelers debacle.
I recently started rewatching the first 4 seasons and it wasn't as good as I remembered. I found most of the characters(Bonnie, Damon, Caroline, Tyler) annoying and unlikable. The enjoyable parts though is that they still did mysterious vampire things, and Stefan was still a character back then lol. I hope they bring it back in s7.
Season 5. It dragged on and on. The villains weren't interesting and it just wasn't fun. The closest to a good thing that came from season 5 was Luke.
1-2 were really fun. 3 dipped a bit but was still fun. 4 was mostly boring but it had some memorable moments. 6 improved on things by focusing on the core group and dynamics. It didn't reach the same level as the earlier seasons but it was vastly better then 4 and 5.
Everything went downhill after season 4. So season 5 and 6 were bad, but voted 5.
I think the point where the show really lost itself for me, was when Elena and Jeremy killed Kol, the show had guts killing Jeremy, and I liked the rest of season 4, then when Jeremy got resurrected, it undid all of Elena's journey. Resurrecting characters got so old in season 5 and 6, but thats the least of the show's problems.
This show is just so not original, I never see the reason why Julie Plec is so against introducing completely new supernatural threats. All she does is recyle witches, vampires and werewolfs over and over. Cant she just bring in something not related or similar to them. Thats why this show's storytelling is not reaching new heights.
Again this still wont help the characters, but at least it will add something new and exciting. I dont want to come back to season 7 with a boring Mamma Salvatore as the villain and her vampire-witch hybrids. boo.
Season 5 by far. I mean everything fall apart after Tessa was killed off. Really poor and forced storytelling with sloppy character development and uninteresting Villains.
For me the seasons are ranked S02-S01-S3A-S06-S3B-S04-S05 Thank G, season 6 was so good and was more character driven and focused more on the other characters than usual. Chris Woods was a spot on great casting and gave so much to the show. I hope they cast someone really good to play the Heretics.
Towards the end of Season 4. Didn't really like Seasons 1-2 either. Became a regular viewer at the start of Season 6 (my favorite season; loved it!!!).
I did not care for the show until Elena found out about Vampires, and loved it until Julie neutered Damon and just had him following Elena like a lost puppy. I am so glad Elena is gone and maybe get the bad Damon back.
Season 5 only because we lost Katherine but her storyline was amazing that season... Season 6 has probably been the worst overall... My favorite will always be season 4... The finale that season was perfection IMO
Season 5......maaaan Travelers sucked. And Katherine's arc sucked. And Silas' arc sucked. The Silas himself was awesome tho. And Enzo was awesome. And Denzo was awesome. And Alaric's resurrection.......everything else pretty much sucked)
For me it´s Season 1, the first couple of episodes are really slow and without much going on. The rest of the seasons are more established and tell great season long arcs IMO.
Season 5 as it was so horrible that I stopped watching then. So I haven't seen season 6 "for real", but from what I've read and seen it didn't seem much better. For me season 1 and 2 were epic, season 3 was still great, season 4 was meh and season 5 was a huuuge letdown. Also, when I read that Nina will leave I was thinking of returning, but Kai who I was interested in died and Steroline disgusts me so I guess it's still a no.
This question was a no-brainer. Season 5 absolutely sucked except for a few bits here and there. The Travelers was the worst idea ever for a "villain". A group of people can't be a successful villain. As for Marcos - he was so wrong in so many ways. I don't have to name the ways; if you watched the Season you know. I liked Season 6 overall so I'm surprised it came in at #2. I adored Kai - best villain since Klaus - and despite the manipulation throughout the season because of Nina's departure, the finale left me with a lot of hopeful anticipation for Season 7.
S5, as it was the season that led me to give up on the show entirely. I was already on the fence on giving the show up for awhile with the overfocus on the triangle/shipper elements for some time, but the weak traveler plot and for me uninteresting new characters, Enzo et al sealed the deal. I've heard that S6 was better, but at this point, I have no desire to go back, and welcome the extra time in my schedule.
Caroline? It wasn't poorly done or awful though. You haven't even seen six yet you're crapping on it. You can't even give an actual informed opinion on Stefan or anything he does or experiences in six if you haven't. Rumours and recaps aren't a substitute for actual viewing.
How can it be not poorly done if there was no chemistry or romantic feelings during past 5 seasons and she's the dumbest fictional character in the world? I don't have to watch this mess to know it's awful.
I am not a Stefan/Caroline shipper. but even I saw that once the storyline really began in s6, probably just before their first kiss, they brought out some chemistry between them that we've never seen before. I'm not sure why but they have something, their flirting was actually believable, and what I was happy about was that it was always friendship first.
Season 6 was much better. It focused less on crazy supernatural storylines that were used only for shock value, and more on character and relationship development (what tvd is Strongest for). Even the storylines were developed better and made at least some sence.
I was ok with kat, until she took over elenas body. To me that was nothing more than a way to complicate delena and give us a shock-that wasn't actually all that shocking.
Or any actual knowledge of what happens. Either watch the season, then bitch, or admit you can't do anything other than speculate and that your opinion on six and what they do with Stefan has no real foundation as you haven't seen it. Because saying something sucks means jackall if you haven't seen it.
I didn't have to spare a second to think on it - Season 5. It was the season that brought my interest in the show from 100 to 0 in the span of half a season. I stopped watching around 5x10.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Season 6 - I gave up after 6x18 and stopped watching. It used to be my favourite show and now I don't care about it anymore.
ReplyDeleteEasy. Season 5. I actually thought about dropping the show. Season 6 improved big way (its probably my favorite since seasons 2 & 1).
ReplyDeleteDidn't like seasons 3 & 4 either. But none of them were as bad as season 5. Can't understand the hate for season 6.
Easily season five.

Season 5
ReplyDeleteI stopped watching in the beginning of season 6,I tried getting back in to the show, but i can't.
Season 5 by far. It almost made me give up the show.

ReplyDeleteS3 onwards. Klaus and his disgusting creators pet status with JP ruined it and I'll never forgive the way the show treated Ty who didn't deserve it.
ReplyDeleteSeasons 4 & 5, I've only seen a few episodes in each of those.
ReplyDeleteSeason 6 is by far my favourite.

ReplyDeleteseason 6 was garbage from start to finish
ReplyDelete5 is excused because it had a great first half, the second half was not much different from s6.

ReplyDeleteSeason 5 without any doubt!

ReplyDeleteSeason 5 was awful. Just awful.
ReplyDeleteBy far Season 5 though my issues with it started on the late half of S3, but Season 5 really was when it got out of control.

ReplyDeleteseason 3 and all the rest ... i used to adore this show in S1 & 2 but it changed :(
ReplyDeleteMy last season was fifth and that's my vote.
ReplyDeleteBUT if I saw with my own eyes what they did to Stefan in next one, I would totally vote for it.
5 it sucked ass.
ReplyDeleteKatherine's arc was basically the only thing I liked in five. Well that and Silas' portrayal.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Damon's just going to revert to being an asshole again.
ReplyDeleteThey do nothing bad to Stefan in six.
ReplyDeleteBeing paired with Miss Brows isn't nothing.
ReplyDeleteWell those 2-3 eps when she was Elena was good, but they killed her and Nadia, for God knows what reasons and that pissed me off so much.
ReplyDeleteThis question was a no-brainer. Season 5 absolutely sucked except for a few bits here and there. The Travelers was the worst idea ever for a "villain". S5 the stupid triangle BS killed the show only Katehrine made it bearabe and then they killed her.

ReplyDeleteSix is overall a good improvement. Well besides Delena and Matt, Tyler and Enzo.
ReplyDeleteI think just weird karmic reasons, and apparently because Dobrev was exhausted with playing several characters at once.
ReplyDelete52% for season 5? Ah, shouldn't it be 300%? Season 5 was a mess, season 6 did everything in its power to make up for the disaster that was season 5...
ReplyDeleteSeason 3 will always be my fave, a bit surprised it even got 6%...
ReplyDeleteHow can it be not poorly done if there was no chemistry or romantic feelings during past 5 seasons and she's the dumbest fictional character in the world? I don't have to watch this mess to know it's awful.

ReplyDeleteRight because that's the standard of an informed opinion.
