Damn flawless, emotional and brilliant Season Finale!! Killer Frost Tease!! That Barry and Nora reunion broke my heart :( That ending! I never expected that, wow and the CGI has exceptional, that whole ending sequence is out of this world. My god, such beauty for TV! “You look just like my father.” “Who are you?” Gulps.. “I’m the Flash.” "It's me mom, your Barry."
The speech with Barry and his father was without a doubt one of the most moving speeches I have heard on the show. Scratch that, this whole episode is a emotional rollercoaster, really tugging at the heart. "I am in awe of the remarkable man that you're becoming.” "One day you will become a father yourself and then you will know how much I truly love you.
Lol at Cisco’s lines tonight. “Let me ask Doctor Evil.”and "Ronnie, I love you, but this is a time machine, not a book case from Ikea.”Heartbreaking words from Cisco to Wells / Eobard.
Tom Cavanagh, being in a box / chamber for about half the episode has been absolutely awesome, “Do your friends and family believe in you as much as I do?”
:( “You will never lose me.”- Joe and Barry having that heartfelt moment, so much emotions!
What a beautiful wedding for Ronnie and Caitlin :) Loved the song choice and Caitlin’s words to Ronnie, really honest.
Rip Hunter shoutout!! That EPICLY AWESOME Flash vs Reverse Flash showdown!!
That was an absolutely amazing season finale with a really unexpected twist. Eddie turned out to be the most relevant person in the entire scenario. A person doesn't have to have superpowers to be a hero. Now we are left with one massive cliffhanger. After the wormhole crisis is resolved, can the next order of business for season 2 be to prove Henry's innocent and get him out of jail.
Amazing finale. the barry and nora scene was amazing and really heartfelt. i hope that victor garber and robbie amell can stick around because they fit very well within the team. barry running in the speed force and him running up the black hole were the coolest things in the episode.
I loved every single thing about it until the last 10 secs. WTF Flash. It was fun, heartbreaking and kick ass. SN- I'm really going to miss Tom Cavanagh.
So out of nowhere Barry is ok with playing with destrying the whole city and killing everyone for personal gain? He goes back and does nothing? So Eddie has to kill himself to fix what Barry did?
You people call that "amazing"? Barry was completely out of character for the whole episode...
Well technically if Eddie unborned Thawne Wells will exist and Eddie himself might return via time paradox where without Thawne there's no reason Eddie would die, but he would also never work with the Flash and thus be average.
WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK ?! That end OMG ! Barry and Eddie are both inside the black hole !!! :o Otherwise in two sentences : awesome, flawless finale. And the best scene was Barry with his mom of course *sniffles suddenly*
Maybe this is a stupid question but why didn't Barry save his mother? He went to all that trouble and was right there with her but let her die in his arms. I don't get it. And also he could have saved Eddie. Why didn't he? Love these shows and it was a really tightly written finale but those stuck out for me
Even more technically this will either rewrite the entire timeline of this show and restore Eddie to it, Wells and even Thawne therefore or create another Earth with those things.
As far as comparisons go with Arrow maybe we should be comparing like with like so S1 of both shows. They have another two seasons to mess with The Flash, who knows what that will be like.
That confused me. If Eddie dies, Eobard is never born to become Reverse Flash right? Who taught Barry and why didn't it completely decimate the time lines?
If Barry saved his mother, time would have change and he might had never know Joe and Iris, so he made a choice. For Eddie I think it was too late everybody was surprised and shocked by his move you know. Still now with Wells erased and the black hole, wonder if time will change....
If he had at least saved his mother then maybe it would have made some sense but I don't get why he went through all of that to not save her??? Is that just me??
The scenes with Barry and his father in the present along with Barry and his mother in the past were perfection. Any scene Grant has with John is pure gold. What I love the most is the love Barry has for his parents in no way diminishes his love for Joe. I really want to know why the future Flash stopped Barry from saving his mother though. Does the Future Flash know that it's for the best if Barry doesn't alter the past or is there more to the story?
Oh massively. Basically this entire season will either be caught in a infinite loop or will be non-existent. In short f*ck the writers have a lot of work to do because they might have erased a season or created a Earth where this never happened.
Arrow had a PERFECT S2, But Season 3 was a hot mess, with lots of ups and downs. Arrow S3 finale made me sleep on my couch lol..I think Season 2 of The Flash will be even more amazing!
Yeah, I don't really get it either. Unless he changed his mind when he got there and thought maybe if he got back in time without messing with the past he wouldn't have messed anything up in the future? But didn't he have to wait until his mother was already stabbed to even be able to attempt to save her? So he gambled on screwing Central City/the world just on an off chance?
I was distracted during the ep, so maybe I missed something. But it seems utterly pointless to me.
No, he didn't save her because future him told him not to... My point is how pointless the episode was overall and how lame it was story-wise:
a) Barry would have never put the people in CC, the people he swore to save, in mortal danger for personal gain.
b) Everyone telling doing that was ok.
c) Eddie killed himself because Barry decided to do what he did and once there he didn't. "I will put my city in mortal danger for no reason, typical day, right?". He fixed what he did.
Disagree season 3 was flaws but good. And I loved this finale but logically they basically might have straight up erased everything and f*cked themselves.
I haven't watched the episode, but I read some comments anyway. I hope the real Harrison Wells had a secret twin, or that Thawne will return somehow because I adore Tom Cavanagh, and I think it would be a shame to see him leaving for good.
I feel I'm in the minority because I see a lot of posts slamming S3. I didn't love it but I loved enough about it that it still makes my favorite list.
When Barr was traveling through time what were all of the things he passed ? I saw Killer Frost, Atom, White Canary , & Captain Cold, a statue of I think The Flash, and talking with his dad in prison as a younger man. Did everyone catch Kendra Saunders aka Hawkgirl in the finale moments ?
I had my fears but thought they wouldnt repeat the Arrow season 1 on the Flash. But then they also gave all the beats from Arrow season one to the triangle.
It's always best not to change the past. Saving his mother can set off the Flashpoint Paradox storyline, which has consequences as any alteration to the current timeline does.
*bangs head on her table* I don't know anything anymore lol. We'll have to wait for the Season 4 premiere to get our answers. I hope that Rick and Tom are not gone for good ! :(
Well, its not a surprise..this is time travel..we all know when someone mess with time travel, everything will be possible upside down. I think it makes the show even more exciting and surprising in a way! Cant wait for whats next!
Obviously Eddie / Eoboard are not the only Thawnes. But Without Eddie there is no Eoboard. Eoboard is the reason Season 1 happens. If Eoboard never goes back in time. Because he does not exist. Barrys mother never dies
Sort of. They didn't repeat the will they/won't they much Iris was firmly with Eddie and didn't cheat on him or anything like that. So much better than Laurel and Oliver and Tommy. And Eddie (the Flash's Tommy) might not even die thanks to time travel paradox shit.
probably not really a fair comparison for either shows, based mostly on how they are trying to write for both. Seems like opposite ends of a spectrum really.
And if they screwed with their timeline does that mean they are going to say that the Arrow timeline is intact because they operate in their own little bubble???
Wells & his wifey should still be alive. But that means Barry wont become The Flash until what 2020 ? Like in the original timeline. Since Eoboard never changes it now
I liked it but didn't love it. I think they've had to cater for too many characters and it showed. I hope they tone down Merlyn until the mid season finale and with Roy gone Thea can fit in and Laurel can operate independently. Rays also gone so that's another character less to write for. I don't think the writing was as tight as the previous two seasons and I hope we get a better baddie in Damian Darhk next season and we can erase all the bad points of S3.
Its not ... but still my heart breaks for Eddie. He was one of my favorites. But with Rick Cosnett not being at the upfronts i should have known something was up.
As much as some people hated Arrow's third Season's identity crisis story, the finale solved it and gave it a good ending. It made sense. Arrow's Season 1 and 2's finale also made sense.
Flash's finale was pointless, had all characters acting like if they were high on acid and Barry was doing stuff Barry would have never done. It didn't make sense at all.
OMG LOVE THE FLASH Episode tonight it made me cry when Barry goes back to try to save his mom again and the end too. It keeps me on the edge of my seat always like Arrow does. I can't believe til we have to wait til Fall for both Seasons and shows to start. Ugh!!!!!
It was VERY slow till the moment Barry started running. It had several emotional scenes. Barry and Henry. Barry and Joe and Barry calling Joe dad. Iris and Barry. The Snowstorm wedding. But the one that nearly killed me was Barry and his mother. I think that scene scared me for life for real. I can't handle the scenes when parents die. She even called him my beautiful boy just like Moira used to call Oliver.e
Great visual effects. Also we got a glimpse of Killer Frost. I think I saw a statue of RF. And that was Hawkgirl right?
Cisco is a metahuman. How much of a dbag was Eobard when not sorry about killing you I'm sure I had good reasons.
Good bye Eddie I will miss you dearly. Too bad they had to make you a carbon copy of Tommy. I don't want to sound insensitive but I'm so relieved Ronnie and Henry are fine.
If Eddie killed himself and Eobard never existed then none of these things should happen!!!! Eobard never killed Nora. Henry never went to jail. Barry never went to live with Joe and Iris. Eobard never made Barry the Flash. They never found out about him and Eddie never killed himself. Cisco, Caitlin and Ronnie never met because Eobard never built the PA. Harrison Wells is still alive.
the Flash finale didn't make sense to me at all. I still haven't gotten a good reason why he didn't save his mother? Because he would have lost everything that he has now but he knew that already was a possibility. I'm confused
This finale for me was all about heart. -Barry and Joe called each other dad and son. My heart melted -Cisco is the single best supporting character on network TV right now. His confrontation with Eobard hurt my heart. -Grant Gustin had me tearing up the ENTIRE freaking episode. His final moments with his mom, broke my heart. -Anytime I have a lot of Joe and Cisco,it warms my heart. I love every thing about them.
The way that the post mortem reads, it doesn't seem like Eddie is coming back any time soon. Maybe in a season or two you'll get an alt-universe Eddie.
Kendra Saunders aka Hawkgirl was seen on the street looking up at the worm hole above the city in the finale moments. Who was the guy seen seconds after Captain Cold and Kendra ?
Some people(like my sister, for example) only watch Arrow, so if she watches 4x01 and sees Season 3 was erased because of what happened on Flash she won't understand anything.
There can be a cameo here and there, but major plot points are independant.
So I'm not sure if I missed something in the few episodes I didn't see or if it's because I don't read the comics but can anyone explain how Barry is still alive for Thawne to hate him so much 136+ years in the future? I thought at first maybe it was a different version of the flash he hated so much or something but he said it was Barry specifically.
Well the thing about playing with time is you don't have to worry about when someone was born. But seriously, no. They never directly explained the exact way they met or why they were enemies.
Jesus christ, that was intense!!! And they weren't kidding, this was hands down the most emotional finale of the year. Definitely teared up a lot throughout.
- Barry and Nora!! My poor emotional heart. So cool seeing Future Barry turn towards Barry and tell him to not go in and try to save Nora. And seeing him having to watch/listen to the exact moment where Eobard puts the knife through her hit me right in the feels. That whole bit was definitely the highlight of the finale. Grant Gustin continues to knock it out of the park week in and week out. Give him an Emmy already!! Dude is amazing. He takes off his mask and says "It's Barry. Your Barry" Why don't you just rip my heart out already?! So gut wrenching but also beautiful.
- First look at Killer Frost and Hawkgirl!!! And Jay Garrick and Rip Hunter references! Too much awesomeness to handle. All of that just made me even more freaking excited for The Flash season 2 and Legends of Tomorrow even more than I already was. Also Cisco was affected by the particle acceleration after all! The ability to see the vibrations of parallel dimensions. Here we come Vibe!
- RIP Eddie. How the fuck did I not see that coming?! He made the ultimate sacrifice knowing that he will die a hero. Dammit this is Tommy Merlyn all over again. Stop doing this to me show!! Poor Iris.
- I was so worried for the other half of FIRESTORM, Ronnie so much throughout. Really thought we would lose him tonight since Robbie hasn't signed on to LoT yet. Thank god he isn't dead!! And aww at the wedding between him and Caitlin.
- Joe freaking West. The damn heart of the show. Bravo tonight sir! Aww at him telling Barry that if he went through with the plan, then he would never be in Joe's life. Also hearing Barry call Joe dad was everything.
- Tom Cavanagh has been incredible as Eobard Thawne/Harrison Wells throughout this season. I read that Tom WILL be back in season 2 so that's interesting!! Another timeline perhaps? Looks like it. And that cliffhanger with Barry going towards the wormhole to shut it down was awesome. Beautiful special effects.
Overall, this show has produced some of the most insane episodes I have ever seen on television and I can't wait to see what Andrew and Greg have in store for season 2!! Now begins the hiatus of hell.
That finale was filled with a lot of great emotional scenes. Wow.
I don't think it will happen, but Eddie sucked into the wormhole could still be alive and sent to some other timeline... or TV series? It could be fun if he played Vandal Savage... Then again I would prefer I more seasoned actor for the big bad on LoT I think.
Awesome finale, but it highlighted everything I hate about time travel . Bad happens... Hit the reset button. It just kills any sense of drama with me and lowers my overall level of excitement as well.
So instead of having what could be an awesome finale I have to wait for the Season 2 premiere to see how it turns out. The outcome could severely impact how I feel about the Season finale!
It's mostly something Barry does while he lives that affects Eobard. So he goes back on time. It's not that he does something directly to him at first...
Loved it. I was thoroughly happy with this season and the ending was not only great but opened so much for the writers. Eddie's death was a wonderful character death. He went from being a dead weight slash obligatory third point of a love triangle to hero. He was the character who made the biggest sacrifice to defeat fate.
Really? More OOC than Barry being ok with maybe destroying Central City just for personal gain, when he doesn't even know he will succeed on saving his mother?
Yeah... Arrow never pulled something like that, even if S3 wasn't the best...
I thought for the most part Eddie was a great character. That said, if anybody had to go, I would want it to be him if Tom could be back. It would be great to have Eddie back some other time. ;)
No kidding LOL That goes to show how the world works. Both Laurel in Season 2 and Felicity in Season 3 had valid reasons to cry and being on a bad emotional place. Yet, people called them whiny...
Barry cried like A LOT! With valid reasons? Sure! But i don't see anyone calling him whiny...
I honestly don't get why people loved it. Yes, it has some great performances... But the story didn't make any sense. They forced Barry into doing something he would never had done and that resulted on Eddie's death. Everybody was ok with that. He goes back and just because future him gives him a sign to stop, he does...
It didn't make any sense. People complain about Arrow's third Season, but this finale makes Season 3 of Arrow worthy of every award for wrting.
Of course he did took the risk. It's his mom. It's the defining moment of his life - the worst trauma he's ever been through, the thing that put his father in jail, defined the rest of his life from his love life to his career path, and lost him his mom. He's been obsessed for fifteen years. And it would save the two people he loved most. Of course he tried. And even if he didn't succeed, he got to see her again.
THAT WAS A HELL OF A CLIFFHANGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO, NO, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DON'T WANT CAITLIN TO TURN EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know that doesn't makes any sense, right? He says he protects the city but it's ok with destroying it? Yes, his mother is dead, does that means it's ok to maybe kill everyone just to see her again? Eddie is dead because the choice he made, u know. And i'm sorry but the Barry they shown us all Season wouldn't do that. Saving two one people at the cost of thousands isn't what a hero do and it's not what Barry would do.
Whoa whoa whoa! My parents did not sign a permission slip for that feels trip! That was incredible! So much better than any of Arrow's finales (especially this last one) in my opinion! Cannot wait for October!
Sure he would. He's spent the whole season talking about saving his dad, what happened to his mom, and how that affected his whole life. This was his obsession for a long time before he became the Flash. Being a hero doesn't make him infallible or incapable of being selfish. It doesn't make him above making terrible mistakes - I mean I love Oliver Queen, but his mistakes helped make Deathstroke, and Deathstroke nearly got Starling bombed out of existence. Presumably something Barry chose to do made Wells/Thawne in the first place, although that's harder to tell, W/T is all psychopath-y and never gave a clear answer on that one. Barry has wanted this for most of his life. He doesn't want to go back to make himself more famous or win the lottery. He wants to go back and save his mother's life. Get back his family. These aren't just two people. These are the most important people in the world to him.
I'm not saying he made a good decision. I am saying that this is the one thing he wanted from the first time we met him on Arrow a year and a half ago, and it's been reinforced as the thing he wants most ever since. Yes, he went for it. And when it went wrong, he ran into a black hole to fix it. Being a hero doesn't make him perfect, and it's not like he knew that Eddie would die, or that the wormhole would turn itself back on. I think this will probably affect him going forward, like losing Tommy changed who Oliver was. But I think it's completely understandable.
Agree to disagree. I don't buy it. No matter how much he wanted her mother back, for me it makes no sense for him to do what he has done. He risked thousands of lifes, innocent lifes. ANd trying to fix what he has done doesn't excuse him. He stopped and tought "okay, if i do this i might kill everyone. Am i still going forward?". Even worst is that he had a past experience playing with time. As seen on the Season 1.5 comics, Oliver didn't reach Laurel on time because he stopped to help a woman who was being hurt. I ended up the episode thinking Barry was a bad guy. He can make mistakes, but THIS IS HUGE. We are talking about killing thousands with him just turning on the Particle Accelerator and creating the wormhole. What he did was beyond selfish...
I don«,t know about bad storytelling. He literally trusted himself not to save her when future Barry looked at him and signed « Bro, don't!». There's definitely something more there that is going to be brought back eventually since future Barry obviously knew the consequences of him saving his mom. I think Barry also trusted his speed and that Wells wouldn't set this up if he didn,t know Barry could run the distance. I would have had aa problem with the episode if Barry wasn't conflicted about setting back the past but he was, very! I thought it was a solid finale!
Besides the obvious forced cameos by Captain Cold and Hawkgirl, the season finale was tremendous. I'm one to speculate, though, that even though Eddie erased Eobard's existence, that doesn't truly take away Eobard's actions in the past. Eobard still existed on a certain platform regardless. But who knows, the writers may surprise us all....or during that singularity, Eddie takes the realms of being the Reverse-Flash.
But seriously...Cold just walks around in that parka unnoticed? Lol.
I don't have a problem with what happen on the house. I got it. Future Barry looked at him and made a sign to trust him and don't change anything. I do have a problem with him turning on the particle acelerator knowing the wormhole could potentially kill everybody based on nothing sure. He took a risk, and the colateral damage would be the death of everyone at Central City.
Arrow's finale was happier in a somber season while The Flash's finale felt far more depressing and somber in a happier season up until the final moments....there's a final shot of The Flash before the finale ends that just makes every fanboy happy as it's the typical "hero fighting 'til the end" type of scenario.
Holy Flash! I liked the feel of the episode despite it being the season finale but I wish it just had like 5 more minutes of the episode. But nope! We are getting Smallville style season finale where we get that big crazy moment right end and it won't be fixed till Ep 1 next season. When all the changes happen.
Either way there was a lot to love out of the episode to not be so made at it. Loved all the reference. Vibe & Killer Frost!!! When! How! This is like Sweet and Sour, but so good. Legend of Tomorrow! I personally liked Eobard mentioning Rip Hunter for building the first Time Travel Machine.
Speaking of the end, Glad Barry didn't save his mother the changes would of been too much, and if they were just gonna revert them soon after there would not have been a point. If it was gonna be permanent then it would of been awesome. But nope, so yea good not saving her, but at least he gave his mom peace at the end. And Good sacrifice Eddie, but I wonder if him dying and erasing the ReverseFlash may have caused the time rupture.
Anyway Being used to Cliffhanger ends I think I can wait it off, plus just knowing its coming back is more then enough. vs other shit not coming back with cliffhangers...
Yes it was a good episode but it left me with more questions than answers. They could have at least told us exactly why Eobard hates Barry but no instead they don't and then they kill off Eddie which in turn "kills" Eobard, but then I guess doesn't cause the E.P.'s are saying he will be back for season 2! So you see why I have more questions like why and how and the who of the situation.
I thought it was quite good, but didn't necessarily love it. Time travel always annoys me so I'm still not sure how I feel about the finale and will not be until next season I guess..
That said, I never for a second thought Barry would NOT go back and attempt to save his mom and dad. Since the pilot he has wanted to change the past. Once he learned he actually could time travel it was the first thing he thought of. I think it was totally in character despite the fact he risked destroying the city etc...
Now I do agree with you that it was a fairly selfish act and hardly heroic. I chalk it up to him still finding his footing as a hero and being so emotionally messed up by Wells being the cause of all the pain in his life. In that mindset I think he figured that if Wells could go back in time and alter the course of Barry's life, why couldn't he go back and stop Wells to course correct...
Eddie only killed himself because Eobard came from the future to the past and got stuck, already built the PA and crated the Flash. After that Eddie killed himself, so that's why Barry is still the Flash and the PA is still there. And because of that crated it Temporal & maybe more of a Grandfather paradox.
Eddie would never have killed himself if Eobard never came in the past and never met him. If he did then the Flash would not be.
Yeah I don't get it. I forget which episode it was of Flash but when the team finally confronted Wells maybe 18 or 19 was a much better episode to me than tonight's. It just left me indifferent. And I have really enjoyed the show. I know that everyone found the Barry and his Mom scene very emotional but I thought that the scenes with Joe and Barry were much better. Each to their own I guess
In theory he was willing to go back and risk everything to save his mom and keep his dad out of jail, but once he got there the reality of the situation set in. He couldn't do it.
He is The Flash, he can keep to the time limit and come back in 1 minute and 52 seconds, and he did. The risk was there but only if he didn't come back in time based on the Show's logic which he did. The destruction most likely happened not because of his delay but because Eddie killed himself.
Well, the paradox of writing Eobard out of time due to Eddie's death is essentially about to destroy the universe, or at least rewrite it without Eobard, and Barry is trying to stop it so what happens next will probably be a mix of some things being rewritten before Barry manages to stop it and some things staying as they are - so they can pretty much do what they want next season
So Barry acted rashly like RF did and ruined what was a happy ending. Barry made peace with his mom, other supporting characters were happy, and RF was somewhat sorry for the things he had done. Barry came back and potentially destroyed it all. He's he big bad for season 2.
Legends of Tomorrow should cast Colin Donnell as the time traveling companion and best friend of Rip Hunter as well as the great great great great grandson of Thea Queen-Merlyn Harper. ( give Colin a more futuristic look and wardrobe ) What do you guy think
theres alot left open. wish it was more of a definite season finale. but loved it. great writing, how they made us sorta love eddie in those short minutes and then take him away like that. i wonder where that worm hole is going to thou..
well smallville did this with Clark where he has to stop something big.....I guess the same approach here. I guess there a reason why arrow do not have a cliffhanger.....perhaps next season...
So I just read that Tom Cavanagh will still be a series regular. I'm guessing since Eddie erased Eobard, he never killed the real Dr Wells to take his identity.
Wells said Eddie isn't remembered in history and he won't be. So he actually proved Wells right;) Nobody will know Eddie killed himself except like 5 people.
These scene tonight all fit the storyline perfectly and felt organic. Arrows pandering to Olicity fans made her scenes feel shoehorned in. We saw the relationship between all these characters develope over the season. When did Oliver and Felicity's develope? Oliver was dating Sara and didn't even know Felicity liked him. Then Sara does and all of a sudden Oliver and Felicity are like totally in love out of nowhere. They got forced into the show even though they had been on one fricken date.
That's ridiculous. Pretty much all reviewers bashed the hell out of Arrow's horrible season finale and praised this one. The only people who would even try to say this season of Arrow was better than the Flash are Olicity shippers.
Arrow season 3 was junk. Yeah it was about identity. The only problem is they made Oliver's whole identity dependent on Felicity. Even though he was with Sara forever and didn't even like Felicity, then they went on one date and all of a sudden we are supposed to believe they're madly in love. It was a total joke.
This whole season Barry has been trying to find a way to free his dad for his mothers murder. So if you don't think he would've gone back in time to save his mother, then you haven't been paying attention to this season of the Flash. It's been Barry's driving force for the whole season.
That was a great finale... So many tears - Eddie (even though I didn't like him w Iris he really deserved better man, and I heard he's not coming back S2) :''(, Nora + Barry, and the goodbye scene, The Killer Frost tease, and the Legend of Tomorrow tease YESSSS!!! (I really can't wait for this show).. Anyways fuck that ending tho.
I don't think they erased anything. Just created an alternate timeline. So this current timeline continues on as usual, but a totally new timeline was created where Thawne never killed Nora.
But if they're going that route, then they have to change everything about this timeline. Nora should still be alive. Barry never meets Cisco and Caitlin etc.
SUBSTANTIALLY better than the Arrow finale. I rated Arrow a 5/10 The Flash is a solid 8.5/10 maybe even a 9.
That said, we'll see in season 3 if The Flash can keep this up. I also had Arrow rated highly for the S1 & 2 finales.
The Eddie suicide twist I DID NOT see coming. I remember when Arrow had clever twists like that. and I wonder how far into the future Barry was looking at when he saw the Killer Frost tease.
Precisely. Barry never gets struck by lightning either. I feel The Flash is capable at least of getting themselves out of this conundrum. If this was Arrow putting themselves in this hole, I think they would just dig themselves into a deeper hole.
So to get this straight: Barry decides to not save his mom and not alter the future/present. Ok then.
But then Eddie kills himself and erases Eobard from existence. Doesn't that follow that Nora never died because Eobard could've never travelled back in time to kill Barry in the first place?
And since Eobard never travelled back in time and Cavanagh returning in season 2, the real Harrison Wells also never was killed so why is Daddy still in prison and Nora dead? Does not make much sense. Although I do like temporal paradoxes this might not have been thought through all the way to the end.
But I liked the teases of Legends with the mentioning of Rip Hunter and Hawk Girl looking up in the end on the street...
The emotional moments between Barry/Iris, Barry/Joe, Barry/Henry and Barry/Nora were beautifully executed. Eobard's plan even made sense. I liked the build up towards Barry running inside Particle Accelerator. Poor Eddie. The show failed you and made you Tommy. Still don't understand why there was a wedding in this finale. Cisco a meta human. YAY The glimpse of Killer Frost, Legends of Tomorrow and Flash museum. Jay Garrick's hat
Now comes the confusing part. So Eddie killed himself and erased Eobard from existence. Doesn't that mean the time fabric is again ruptured? Nora is not dead, original Wells is not dead and Barry might not become Flash until 2020. So what are they going to do? Re write the whole finale? When will the show pick up next season? Six months from now like Arrow or right after we left off?
All in all it was a great finale but it should have been a 2 hour event with a conclusion. I don't like where they left off.
well then you need to talk with Stephen Amell. Since he just stated at the London con that Oliver loved Felicity since 2x06. Guess you need to rewatch season 2 then.
So do we all think that Kelly Rogers didn't pull a hamstring, instead was pucking the shit out of her cause she was pregnant with the little Thawne who'd give the Eobard descendent at one point.
So now my overall impressions. I like that Iris choose Eddie and that he stepped up at the end. I hated that it looked so much alike Tommy's demise. Killer Frost looked trashy. I love Danielle and she is a beautiful girl but she looked awful in that shot. Loved the Rip Hunter name drop. The emotional scenes were more than beautiful and perfectly executed. I am used to so much closure on Arrow finales that this is really O.O How they intend to start S02 is a mystery.
It's quite confusing. They will surely establish a rule or something connected to that but reveal it next season. One solution would've been if Eobard was gone and never born the whole universe would've fallen apart in that moment and an Alternate timeline should've been born.
The other way is no matter that the Eobard we saw entered or created a different universe the moment he killed Nora and that he was erased out of this world cause with Eddie's death there wasn't an Eobard in this timeline.
Nobody will really remember Eobard either. Since he's ceased to exist. And Eddie on the other hand will be known as the guy who made that happen. So amongst every Speedster, hero or anybody whose dealt with Thawne from the future he will be. Plus Eddie just wanted to do something great, and he did. Still proved him wrong.
Amell is just trying to justify this crapfest of a season and finale. He's getting asked tons of questions about it because everybody except the hardcore shippers saw this season for what it was.
I've watched every episode and I don't need anything spelled out for me. Olicity wasn't a thing until the fan girls were vocal about it and the writers catered to it. It came out of nowhere.
Justify it all you want, but a vast majority agree with me, hence the season and finale have been getting killed everywhere.
Also, why do you think Kreisberg is going back to writing for Arrow? They don't change up writers if they think everything is going great. They pulling him from the hugely successful and praised Flash to try and fix the disaster that Arrow became.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Damn flawless, emotional and brilliant Season Finale!! Killer Frost Tease!! That Barry and Nora reunion broke my heart :( That ending! I never expected that, wow and the CGI has exceptional, that whole ending sequence is out of this world. My god, such beauty for TV!
ReplyDelete“You look just like my father.” “Who are you?” Gulps.. “I’m the Flash.” "It's me mom, your Barry."
The speech with Barry and his father was without a doubt one of the most moving speeches I have heard on the show. Scratch that, this whole episode is a emotional rollercoaster, really tugging at the heart.
"I am in awe of the remarkable man that you're becoming.”
"One day you will become a father yourself and then you will know how much I truly love you.

HOLYYYYYYYYYYY SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, but dick ending writers dick ending.
ReplyDeletehow is it compare to Arrow finale?
ReplyDeleteThat was an absolutely amazing season finale with a really unexpected twist.
ReplyDeleteAmazing finale.
ReplyDeletethe barry and nora scene was amazing and really heartfelt.
i hope that victor garber and robbie amell can stick around because they fit very well within the team.
barry running in the speed force and him running up the black hole were the coolest things in the episode.
It is a lot less definite. And very different structurally. And sadder a lot sadder.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I love Arrow but this finale was FAAAR better !
ReplyDeleteSeriously puppy Eddie :(
ReplyDeleteI loved every single thing about it until the last 10 secs. WTF Flash.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun, heartbreaking and kick ass.
SN- I'm really going to miss Tom Cavanagh.
Oh this one was awesome, but still loved Arrow's.
ReplyDeleteTen times better ... and ... Arrow's finale was EPIC !!!
ReplyDeleteReally? That thing was pointless...
ReplyDeleteSo out of nowhere Barry is ok with playing with destrying the whole city and killing everyone for personal gain? He goes back and does nothing? So Eddie has to kill himself to fix what Barry did?
You people call that "amazing"? Barry was completely out of character for the whole episode...
I was crying all hour til the end....now I just want the new season!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell technically if Eddie unborned Thawne Wells will exist and Eddie himself might return via time paradox where without Thawne there's no reason Eddie would die, but he would also never work with the Flash and thus be average.
ReplyDeleteArrow may have been bad, but Flash's is pointless and has Barry totally out of character... But has nice CGI.
ReplyDeleteOuch. It technically was though all of this would be erased with time paradoxes.
ReplyDeleteWHAT THE ACTUAL HECK ?! That end OMG ! Barry and Eddie are both inside the black hole !!! :o
ReplyDeleteOtherwise in two sentences : awesome, flawless finale. And the best scene was Barry with his mom of course *sniffles suddenly*
O m g I give it a 100/100 even though it didn't pick up till the second half hour it was brilliant I can only imagine what's happening in season 2
ReplyDeletewell it unfair to compare season 1 finale and season 3 finale... so sacfice vs fash enough is a better comparison
ReplyDeleteCliffhanger
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome. But technically all of it should not happen or it will lead to a timeline very similar to the original unaltered one.
ReplyDeleteSo Barrys dad is likely now in prison for life & Barrys mom is still dead. Not much accomplished on that front now
ReplyDeleteThat is actually a lot better comparison, story wise.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this is a stupid question but why didn't Barry save his mother? He went to all that trouble and was right there with her but let her die in his arms. I don't get it. And also he could have saved Eddie. Why didn't he? Love these shows and it was a really tightly written finale but those stuck out for me
ReplyDeleteBut the interesting thing is. Will the timeline still change ? If Eoboard is never born. He never goes back in time
ReplyDeleteBarry was ok with destroying Central City and killing everyone to JUST MAYBE have a chance to save his mother.
ReplyDeleteIt made no sense... It doesn't matter if it is gonna be rewriten, what we just saw was BAD STORYTELLING.
It doesn't compare tbh The Flash finale was on a whole another level than that finale of arrow
ReplyDeleteHoly mother of dragons!! This is how you do a Season Finale! Take the lesson, Arrow! lol
ReplyDeleteI still think 1x15, 1x20 and 1x21 were more epic, but i really liked this finale too!
And omg, Eddie!! He sacrificed himself!!
I think Ronnie will stay in The Flash, yay!!
I really cant wait for S2!
Best super hero show on TV right now!
Even more technically this will either rewrite the entire timeline of this show and restore Eddie to it, Wells and even Thawne therefore or create another Earth with those things.
ReplyDeleteIf Eoboard is never born thanks to Eddie. He never goes back in time. I think Eddie might have screwed things up
ReplyDeleteAs far as comparisons go with Arrow maybe we should be comparing like with like so S1 of both shows. They have another two seasons to mess with The Flash, who knows what that will be like.
ReplyDeleteThat confused me. If Eddie dies, Eobard is never born to become Reverse Flash right? Who taught Barry and why didn't it completely decimate the time lines?
ReplyDeleteI think Arrow's fine fir that lesson. I loved this finale, but based on time travel theory alone none of this should happen, or will be erased.
ReplyDeleteIf Barry saved his mother, time would have change and he might had never know Joe and Iris, so he made a choice. For Eddie I think it was too late everybody was surprised and shocked by his move you know. Still now with Wells erased and the black hole, wonder if time will change....
ReplyDeleteIt should create a whole new timeline and render most of this season as non-existent.
ReplyDeleteIf he had at least saved his mother then maybe it would have made some sense but I don't get why he went through all of that to not save her??? Is that just me??
ReplyDeleteit made me cry and then fanboy by the epic cliffhanger!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I can't believe he even decided to make the trip in the first place.
ReplyDeleteThe scenes with Barry and his father in the present along with Barry and his mother in the past were perfection.
ReplyDeleteOh massively. Basically this entire season will either be caught in a infinite loop or will be non-existent. In short f*ck the writers have a lot of work to do because they might have erased a season or created a Earth where this never happened.
ReplyDeleteArrow had a PERFECT S2, But Season 3 was a hot mess, with lots of ups and downs. Arrow S3 finale made me sleep on my couch lol..I think Season 2 of The Flash will be even more amazing!
ReplyDeleteThe timeline is going to change anyway. If Eobard is never born with Eddie dead. Eobard never goes back in time
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I don't write this show. My head is spinning trying to keep up with these alternate realities and the cause and effect of each one.
ReplyDeletesaw it coming. This is why it crushed me whenever hearing people bash poor Eddie because of the Iris relationship -,-
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't really get it either.
ReplyDeleteI was distracted during the ep, so maybe I missed something. But it seems utterly pointless to me.
I'm not sure that Eddie is dead...
ReplyDeleteNo, he didn't save her because future him told him not to... My point is how pointless the episode was overall and how lame it was story-wise:
ReplyDeletea) Barry would have never put the people in CC, the people he swore to save, in mortal danger for personal gain.
b) Everyone telling doing that was ok.
c) Eddie killed himself because Barry decided to do what he did and once there he didn't. "I will put my city in mortal danger for no reason, typical day, right?". He fixed what he did.
The episode made no sense!
Disagree season 3 was flaws but good. And I loved this finale but logically they basically might have straight up erased everything and f*cked themselves.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched the episode, but I read some comments anyway.
ReplyDeleteI hope the real Harrison Wells had a secret twin, or that Thawne will return somehow because I adore Tom Cavanagh, and I think it would be a shame to see him leaving for good.
Eoboard would not have disappeared otherwise
ReplyDeleteI feel I'm in the minority because I see a lot of posts slamming S3. I didn't love it but I loved enough about it that it still makes my favorite list.
ReplyDeleteWhen Barr was traveling through time what were all of the things he passed ?
ReplyDeleteI saw Killer Frost, Atom, White Canary , & Captain Cold, a statue of I think The Flash, and talking with his dad in prison as a younger man.
Did everyone catch Kendra Saunders aka Hawkgirl in the finale moments ?
But if Eobard never goes back in time by being born Eddie never dies which means Thawne still exists. This is a problem.
ReplyDeleteI had my fears but thought they wouldnt repeat the Arrow season 1 on the Flash. But then they also gave all the beats from Arrow season one to the triangle.
ReplyDeleteIt's always best not to change the past. Saving his mother can set off the Flashpoint Paradox storyline, which has consequences as any alteration to the current timeline does.
ReplyDeleteFair enough and maybe I'm being not picky it just seemed strange to have gone to all that knowing that there would be consequences and not save her!!!
ReplyDelete*bangs head on her table* I don't know anything anymore lol. We'll have to wait for the Season 4 premiere to get our answers. I hope that Rick and Tom are not gone for good ! :(
ReplyDeleteexactly, however the triangle (luckily) wasn't overexposed.
ReplyDeleteWell, its not a surprise..this is time travel..we all know when someone mess with time travel, everything will be possible upside down. I think it makes the show even more exciting and surprising in a way! Cant wait for whats next!
ReplyDeleteObviously Eddie / Eoboard are not the only Thawnes. But Without Eddie there is no Eoboard. Eoboard is the reason Season 1 happens. If Eoboard never goes back in time. Because he does not exist. Barrys mother never dies
ReplyDeleteSort of. They didn't repeat the will they/won't they much Iris was firmly with Eddie and didn't cheat on him or anything like that. So much better than Laurel and Oliver and Tommy. And Eddie (the Flash's Tommy) might not even die thanks to time travel paradox shit.
ReplyDeleteprobably not really a fair comparison for either shows, based mostly on how they are trying to write for both. Seems like opposite ends of a spectrum really.
ReplyDeleteWell at least they didnt have Eddie watch Barry/Iris hooking up. Fuck but Eddie deserved better.
ReplyDeleteAnd if they screwed with their timeline does that mean they are going to say that the Arrow timeline is intact because they operate in their own little bubble???
ReplyDeleteWells & his wifey should still be alive. But that means Barry wont become The Flash until what 2020 ? Like in the original timeline. Since Eoboard never changes it now
ReplyDeleteArrow's fine none of this could impact it. Thank God that would be too severe.
ReplyDeleteBarry didn't do it because The Flash who saved him as a boy shuck his head to warn Barry not to go though with it.
ReplyDeleteThis episode of FLash made Arrow's 3rd Season Oscar worthy...
ReplyDeleteYep I catched Kendra but not Killer Frost lol. I will have to rewatch the eppie.
ReplyDeleteIt's also my only real problem with time travel. It's really f*cking complex especially with multiverse and alternate timelines.
ReplyDeleteWhy did Eddie have to kill himself anyway? Couldn't he just decide not to have children? Same effect, less angst and bloodshed. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteYou mean Emmy?
ReplyDeleteI respectfully disagree. I do think that the S3 of Arrow wasn't the best : lots of writing and OOC dialogues issues.
ReplyDeleteI liked it but didn't love it.
ReplyDeleteHe went out as a hero. That's not bad.
ReplyDeleteA great and Honorable Destiny Awaits You.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, where is Koky ? :P I hope she is okay and didn't faint or something like that after watching the finale ! ;D
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't even compare them way too dissimilar.
ReplyDeleteI have a truly terrifying thought. What if Iris has just conceived Eddie's child? That would bring Eobard Thawne back into play.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha yeah with Emily crying while getting her award since that's what she's been doing this whole season.
ReplyDeleteIts not ... but still my heart breaks for Eddie. He was one of my favorites. But with Rick Cosnett not being at the upfronts i should have known something was up.
ReplyDeleteI thought I saw Hawkgirl too but apparently that is Killer Frost according to Twitter.
ReplyDeleteIt's simple.
ReplyDeleteAs much as some people hated Arrow's third Season's identity crisis story, the finale solved it and gave it a good ending. It made sense. Arrow's Season 1 and 2's finale also made sense.
Flash's finale was pointless, had all characters acting like if they were high on acid and Barry was doing stuff Barry would have never done. It didn't make sense at all.
& besides Eddie changed the timeline FOR BARRY
ReplyDeleteIn retrospect, there were so many hints that The Flash was pulling a Tommy Merlyn with Eddie and I missed all the clues.
ReplyDeleteOn second thought that was awesome, but a let down a bit.
ReplyDeleteNot really her fault, it's mostly the writers's fault. To me, they have underestimated and misused her character this season.
ReplyDeleteDitto. At least he proved Eobard wrong. That or he he'll cause the timeline to be rewritten and he could live.
ReplyDeleteOMG LOVE THE FLASH Episode tonight it made me cry when Barry goes back to try to save his mom again and the end too. It keeps me on the edge of my seat always like Arrow does. I can't believe til we have to wait til Fall for both Seasons and shows to start. Ugh!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was VERY slow till the moment Barry started running. It had several emotional scenes. Barry and Henry. Barry and Joe and Barry calling Joe dad. Iris and Barry. The Snowstorm wedding.
ReplyDeleteBut the one that nearly killed me was Barry and his mother.
ReplyDeleteNot to be a pain but is there a reason why it doesn't affect Arrow?? They're just one city over and that was a damn big 'cloud'....lol
ReplyDeleteThis finale for me was all about heart.
ReplyDelete-Barry and Joe called each other dad and son. My heart melted
-Cisco is the single best supporting character on network TV right now.
ReplyDeleteSo apparently it was confirmed by Andy Kreisberg that Rick is departing from the show but Tom will be back ! Bye Eddie :(
ReplyDeleteBarry will clearly fix that. Timeline wise nothing will change.
ReplyDeleteYep it was Hawkgirl :) https://twitter.com/AJKreisberg/status/600828804127305728
ReplyDeleteWell bravo me lol
ReplyDeleteWell, a vasectomy would have been an alternative for Eddie.
ReplyDeleteAwesome finale! But doesn't this affect Arrow's timeline too? Since its going to affect everything in their universe.
ReplyDeleteSeason 2 Teaser
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8aRbzzDE4o
Nope, Guggenheim said it won't. Both shows are independant of one another on that matter.
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't make sense though. They are both connected.
ReplyDeleteKendra Saunders aka Hawkgirl was seen on the street looking up at the worm hole above the city in the finale moments.
ReplyDeleteWho was the guy seen seconds after Captain Cold and Kendra ?
Aww man my mind is too blown for this!! I need to come back tomorrow for a proper comment!! I just need to get these words out while I can..GAH!!!
ReplyDeleteFUTURE FLASH TALKS TO BARRY, KILLER FROST, JAY GARRICK'S HELMET, FLASH STATUE, LOT!!!!!
AHHHH!!!!! AH-MAZING FINALE! Now to go watch it again!!!
Some people(like my sister, for example) only watch Arrow, so if she watches 4x01 and sees Season 3 was erased because of what happened on Flash she won't understand anything.
ReplyDeleteThere can be a cameo here and there, but major plot points are independant.
There should be a ban on Felicity and Laurel turning on the waterworks ever again unless someone dies.
ReplyDeleteemm Barry cried a ton also.
ReplyDeleteThat's kind of silly since they are both in the same universe and not exactly a million miles away from each other
ReplyDeleteSo I'm not sure if I missed something in the few episodes I didn't see or if it's because I don't read the comics but can anyone explain how Barry is still alive for Thawne to hate him so much 136+ years in the future? I thought at first maybe it was a different version of the flash he hated so much or something but he said it was Barry specifically.
ReplyDeleteEven Marvel's universe is like that... Cap America is looking for Bucky, but Thor will never ask Heimdall to use a second to find him?
ReplyDeleteLook at the crossovers(1x08 and 3x08). They are two independant episodes and in no way one follows the other.
Actually Wells does still build the PA with his wife. Just not until about 2020 or so
ReplyDeleteWell the thing about playing with time is you don't have to worry about when someone was born. But seriously, no. They never directly explained the exact way they met or why they were enemies.
ReplyDeleteJesus christ, that was intense!!! And they weren't kidding, this was hands down the most emotional finale of the year. Definitely teared up a lot throughout.
ReplyDelete- Barry and Nora!!
Wow.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it will happen, but Eddie sucked into the wormhole could still be alive and sent to some other timeline... or TV series?
ReplyDeleteLoved it. I was thoroughly happy with this season and the ending was not only great but opened so much for the writers. Eddie's death was a wonderful character death. He went from being a dead weight slash obligatory third point of a love triangle to hero. He was the character who made the biggest sacrifice to defeat fate.
ReplyDeleteReally? More OOC than Barry being ok with maybe destroying Central City just for personal gain, when he doesn't even know he will succeed on saving his mother?
ReplyDeleteYeah... Arrow never pulled something like that, even if S3 wasn't the best...
I thought for the most part Eddie was a great character. That said, if anybody had to go, I would want it to be him if Tom could be back. It would be great to have Eddie back some other time. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat does Rickard has to do here? Go troll somewhere else... chu, chu!
ReplyDeleteYeah, you got the point xD
ReplyDeleteThey mentioned Stein's assistant. Now I'm pretty sure he'll be the other half of Firestorm in season 2.
ReplyDeleteNo kidding LOL That goes to show how the world works. Both Laurel in Season 2 and Felicity in Season 3 had valid reasons to cry and being on a bad emotional place. Yet, people called them whiny...
ReplyDeleteBarry cried like A LOT! With valid reasons? Sure! But i don't see anyone calling him whiny...
I kind of stay ...that's it ...
ReplyDeleteas did Tommy, the two of them should join the "dead best friend with evil older relatives" club
ReplyDeletehttp://i.imgur.com/aPXPiBv.png
ReplyDeleteBarry gets imprisoned? Alternate timeline?
For the award of the best shipper and pandering in social media resulting in mess of a season brought to you be Guggenhiem.
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't get why people loved it. Yes, it has some great performances... But the story didn't make any sense. They forced Barry into doing something he would never had done and that resulted on Eddie's death. Everybody was ok with that. He goes back and just because future him gives him a sign to stop, he does...
ReplyDeleteIt didn't make any sense. People complain about Arrow's third Season, but this finale makes Season 3 of Arrow worthy of every award for wrting.
No he is just a sensitive guy!
ReplyDeleteOf course he did took the risk.
ReplyDeleteThat was awesome, that's how you do a finale!!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think Eddie was his best friend (that's Iris or Cisco) but agreed.
ReplyDeleteBecause none of the characters were impacted and that would be hell narratively.
ReplyDeleteTHAT WAS A HELL OF A CLIFFHANGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO, NO, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DON'T WANT CAITLIN TO TURN EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe world is though, doesn't that count?
ReplyDeleteBarry will seal it. Besides that not really outside of Central City.
ReplyDeletelol you're right
ReplyDeleteAWESOME! Can't wait 5months for this to return :((
ReplyDeleteYou know that doesn't makes any sense, right? He says he protects the city but it's ok with destroying it? Yes, his mother is dead, does that means it's ok to maybe kill everyone just to see her again? Eddie is dead because the choice he made, u know.
ReplyDeleteAnd i'm sorry but the Barry they shown us all Season wouldn't do that. Saving two one people at the cost of thousands isn't what a hero do and it's not what Barry would do.
ding Ding DING !!!
ReplyDeleteWhoa whoa whoa! My parents did not sign a permission slip for that feels trip! That was incredible! So much better than any of Arrow's finales (especially this last one) in my opinion! Cannot wait for October!
ReplyDeleteand in a "poor one out for the homies" sort of way. So im guessing joe or Henry will get murdered next season.
ReplyDeleteding Ding DING !!!!
ReplyDeleteThis show can be entertaining, but man, I don't even know where to start with all the problems with this episode. What massively lazy writing.
ReplyDeleteSure he would.
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying he made a good decision.
So, is Eddie adopted? He could disappear and RF would still be around. Or is Eddie popping out of the wormhole in some other time?
ReplyDeleteWell that was unexpected.
ReplyDeleteAgree to disagree. I don't buy it. No matter how much he wanted her mother back, for me it makes no sense for him to do what he has done. He risked thousands of lifes, innocent lifes. ANd trying to fix what he has done doesn't excuse him.
ReplyDeleteHe stopped and tought "okay, if i do this i might kill everyone.
ReplyDeleteon a quality level the season 1 Arrow finale still beats this
ReplyDeletebecause nobody died on arrow this season?
ReplyDeleteBesides the obvious forced cameos by Captain Cold and Hawkgirl, the season finale was tremendous.
ReplyDeleteBut seriously...Cold just walks around in that parka unnoticed? Lol.
I don't have a problem with what happen on the house. I got it. Future Barry looked at him and made a sign to trust him and don't change anything.
ReplyDeleteI do have a problem with him turning on the particle acelerator knowing the wormhole could potentially kill everybody based on nothing sure.
ReplyDeleteI just watched that again the other day to remind myself how good Arrow could be....fingers crossed for S4.
ReplyDeleteThat was Barry in jail.
ReplyDeleteHoly Flash! I liked the feel of the episode despite it being the season finale but I wish it just had like 5 more minutes of the episode.
ReplyDeleteBut nope!
Great episode, great acting and Barry and Joe, wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYes it was a good episode but it left me with more questions than answers.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was quite good, but didn't necessarily love it. Time travel always annoys me so I'm still not sure how I feel about the finale and will not be until next season I guess..
ReplyDeleteThat said, I never for a second thought Barry would NOT go back and attempt to save his mom and dad.
ReplyDeleteAnd because of that crated it Temporal & maybe more of a Grandfather paradox.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I saw it too..
ReplyDeleteIn theory he was willing to go back and risk everything to save his mom and keep his dad out of jail, but once he got there the reality of the situation set in. He couldn't do it.
Seriously!
ReplyDeleteIf Captain Cold went on a cruise I swear he would be wearing a short sleeved parka and shorts...
He is The Flash, he can keep to the time limit and come back in 1 minute and 52 seconds, and he did. The risk was there but only if he didn't come back in time based on the Show's logic which he did. The destruction most likely happened not because of his delay but because Eddie killed himself.
ReplyDeleteWell, the paradox of writing Eobard out of time due to Eddie's death is essentially about to destroy the universe, or at least rewrite it without Eobard, and Barry is trying to stop it so what happens next will probably be a mix of some things being rewritten before Barry manages to stop it and some things staying as they are - so they can pretty much do what they want next season
ReplyDeleteSo Barry acted rashly like RF did and ruined what was a happy ending. Barry made peace with his mom, other supporting characters were happy, and RF was somewhat sorry for the things he had done. Barry came back and potentially destroyed it all. He's he big bad for season 2.
ReplyDeleteI think they may have shown why Eobard hates Barry-- Eobard, like Cisco, may remember that Barry kills him and destroys his world.
ReplyDeleteHe sleeps with that thing on too.
ReplyDeleteOff opic
ReplyDeleteLegends of Tomorrow should cast Colin Donnell as the time traveling companion and best friend of Rip Hunter as well as the great great great great grandson of Thea Queen-Merlyn Harper.
( give Colin a more futuristic look and wardrobe )
What do you guy think
theres alot left open. wish it was more of a definite season finale. but loved it. great writing, how they made us sorta love eddie in those short minutes and then take him away like that. i wonder where that worm hole is going to thou..
ReplyDeleteDid anyone catch that glimpse of Caitlin as Killer Frost? It was during Barry's time travel run!
ReplyDeletewell smallville did this with Clark where he has to stop something big.....I guess the same approach here. I guess there a reason why arrow do not have a cliffhanger.....perhaps next season...
ReplyDeleteIf you going to make a statement that is contradictory to pretty much ever other persons review/opinion of the episode, you might want to elaborate.
ReplyDeleteYou won't have to. It will be back in September, so you only have to wait 3;)
ReplyDeleteSo I just read that Tom Cavanagh will still be a series regular. I'm guessing since Eddie erased Eobard, he never killed the real Dr Wells to take his identity.
ReplyDeleteReally? I thought CW always starts their season in October.
ReplyDeleteWells said Eddie isn't remembered in history and he won't be. So he actually proved Wells right;) Nobody will know Eddie killed himself except like 5 people.
ReplyDeleteThese scene tonight all fit the storyline perfectly and felt organic.
ReplyDeleteThat's ridiculous. Pretty much all reviewers bashed the hell out of Arrow's horrible season finale and praised this one. The only people who would even try to say this season of Arrow was better than the Flash are Olicity shippers.
ReplyDeleteArrow season 3 was junk. Yeah it was about identity. The only problem is they made Oliver's whole identity dependent on Felicity. Even though he was with Sara forever and didn't even like Felicity, then they went on one date and all of a sudden we are supposed to believe they're madly in love. It was a total joke.
ReplyDeleteThis whole season Barry has been trying to find a way to free his dad for his mothers murder. So if you don't think he would've gone back in time to save his mother, then you haven't been paying attention to this season of the Flash. It's been Barry's driving force for the whole season.
Damn. I think you're right. Now I'm upset;)
ReplyDeleteThat was a great finale...
ReplyDeleteCaptain Singh.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they erased anything. Just created an alternate timeline. So this current timeline continues on as usual, but a totally new timeline was created where Thawne never killed Nora.
ReplyDeleteAwesome episode, but that death wow i never saw that one coming at all.
ReplyDeleteExactly! I hate fan pandering.
ReplyDeleteBut if they're going that route, then they have to change everything about this timeline. Nora should still be alive. Barry never meets Cisco and Caitlin etc.
ReplyDeleteElaborate?
ReplyDeleteSUBSTANTIALLY better than the Arrow finale.
ReplyDeleteI rated Arrow a 5/10
The Flash is a solid 8.5/10 maybe even a 9.
ReplyDeleteI feel The Flash is capable at least of getting themselves out of this conundrum. If this was Arrow putting themselves in this hole, I think they would just dig themselves into a deeper hole.
You are not in minority. I was frustrated with season 3 at points. But I like it very much.
ReplyDeleteSo to get this straight: Barry decides to not save his mom and not alter the future/present. Ok then.
ReplyDeleteBut then Eddie kills himself and erases Eobard from existence.
Okay. That was very good and very confusing.
ReplyDeleteThe emotional moments between Barry/Iris, Barry/Joe, Barry/Henry and Barry/Nora were beautifully executed.
Eobard's plan even made sense. I liked the build up towards Barry running inside Particle Accelerator.
Poor Eddie. The show failed you and made you Tommy.
Still don't understand why there was a wedding in this finale.
Cisco a meta human. YAY
The glimpse of Killer Frost, Legends of Tomorrow and Flash museum.
ReplyDeleteSo do we all think that Kelly Rogers didn't pull a hamstring, instead was pucking the shit out of her cause she was pregnant with the little Thawne who'd give the Eobard descendent at one point.
ReplyDeleteSo now my overall impressions.
ReplyDeleteOne solution would've been if Eobard was gone and never born the whole universe would've fallen apart in that moment and an Alternate timeline should've been born.
ReplyDeleteAmell is just trying to justify this crapfest of a season and finale. He's getting asked tons of questions about it because everybody except the hardcore shippers saw this season for what it was.
ReplyDeleteI've watched every episode and I don't need anything spelled out for me.
