Going Clear Becomes One of the Top Docus in HBO History

GAME OF THRONES®’ highly anticipated fifth season premiere conquered 18.1 million viewers to-date (Linear Plays + Live+7 DVR + HBO On Demand/HBO GO + HBO NOW). That’s approximately 1.2 million viewers more when compared to last year’s first episode after a similar period of time (16.9 million). GAME OF THRONES ultimately averaged a gross audience of 19.1 million viewers per episode for season 4, becoming the most watched season of an HBO series on record.

The premiere episode of SILICON VALLEY® season 2 tallied 5.7 million viewers to-date, above last year’s debut episode after a similar period of time (up 300,000 viewers). The high-tech comedy averaged a gross audience of 5.8 million viewers per episode last year, making it HBO’s most watched half-hour since ENTOURAGE ended.

VEEP® continued to legislate laughs for the season 4 debut episode with 4 million viewers to-date, in line with season 3 first episode. Season 3 went on to average a gross audience of 4.5 million viewers per episode, making it the series’ most watched season.

Episodes of LAST WEEK TONIGHT WITH JOHN OLIVER season 2 are currently averaging a gross audience of 4.1 million viewers, slightly ahead of last season’s average.

GOING CLEAR: SCIENTOLOGY AND THE PRISON OF BELIEF has a gross audience of 6.8 million viewers to date, making it one of the most watched documentaries in the company’s history, second only to the music/doc hybrid BEYONCE: LIFE IS BUT A DREAM (8.9 million viewers in 2013).
