Talking at the Cape Comic-Con, John Wesley Shipp referred to the Arrow/Flash Spin-Off as "Legends" and said that it will have 13 episodes. This may only be a working title and could change when the show is officially ordered to series by The CW. Listen to him talk about it below.
I like both , name and number of episodes
ReplyDeleteTNT already has a show called Legends, so why would they go with this title for the spin-off. They likely won't stick with it.
ReplyDeleteNice title, but TNT already has a show called the same name, so that's out the window. 13 episodes will be definitely be better than 23 though.
ReplyDeleteConsidering it's a mid-season replacement,it was given that the episode order would be 13/16.
ReplyDeleteI like the title!
Legends? Aside from Sara... And let's put Rip in there too... What other legends? Palmer's a legend? He's kinda new to be a legend... Just saying...
ReplyDeleteI don't like the title...The episode order? YESSS!!! Less episodes = less filler = less draging stories and pointless love stories.
Legends??? You can't be serious?? Yeah that should change. And 13?? YESS!! I was hoping for that. If i have to tune in for w/e reason, i don't want to see a lot more than i should.
ReplyDeleteI assume they will have a mission, probably introduced by Rip and focus on that for this season. Probably a fight against time as well.
ReplyDeleteI was guessing that The Falsh crew has more off a team vibe than Arrow, then again Arrow cast has been together more time and of course The Falsh from the beginning feels more like ans ensamble show than Arrow.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of the Title. A bit over the top.
ReplyDeleteI can't resist watching it coz of Caity and i can't watch it at the same time coz of Brandon-Very tough situation for me!
ReplyDeleteThey'll definitely change it.
ReplyDeleteIt's a must see. We can't fight it, we are WEAK! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI don't know what it is about Brandon's portrayal of Ray but it is really annoying. I just can't, he doesn't feel real into this whole storytelling. Not even in The Flash.
Maybe they tone it a bit down. At this point not even my love for Caity is really pulling me towards the show as I don't know how she'll be brought back, it's really itching me.
I really hope so. It is really hard to find a fitting title that will work and satisfy everyone but this is just not working.
ReplyDeleteSince this will be a midseason show, the 13 episode order is not exactly surprising. As for the title, I'm assuming Legends is a working title since the awful TNT show is still in production and it's a very bland title for a show like this.
ReplyDeleteI heave seen some people saying that it might have a shorter (than 13) episode order, so at least this is some kind of confirmation.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least Legends is better than The Atom..
ReplyDeleteI think the spin-off will air on Thursdays at 8PM starting from January or February.
Interesting. But isnt Legend already taken?
ReplyDeleteThat was a great Q&A. I enjoy John so much. I've always loved him. He's a cool guy. He's adorable.
ReplyDeleteAll-Star Squadron is better
ReplyDeleteshould totally be promoted to regular on the Flash
ReplyDeleteI completely disagree his acting is perfect he just gives that great quirky vibe and it's great
ReplyDelete"I don't know what it is about Brandon's portrayal of Ray but it is really annoying."
ReplyDeleteDo you mean the character is really annoying? If so, I'm right there with you. Although, Ray was surprisingly tolerable this week.
Legends mmmmm. Better than the atom lol.
ReplyDeleteI would loveee that. His scenes with Barry and Joe get me right there. I want to hug him every time. He has such great chemistry with them.
ReplyDeleteI feel the exact same way. Will probably just fast forward brandons part lol.
ReplyDeleteDC has a Legends crossover comic but I don't think the show has anything to do with that. It included Firestorm, BC, Darkseid, Justice League and a slew of others. Too many others that are spoken for right now.
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legends_(comics)
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legends_of_the_Superheroes
Rip Hunter is a time traveler. Maybe he has a mission for all of them and tells them, where he comes from, they're all legends. That's why he came back to recruit them. Then he realizes that they aren't exactly legends YET. Then we have a chance to see them become Legends.
ReplyDeleteCould make for a really great story.
I feel the same way,i'll cringe if they bring Sara back from dead after all this time & if they bring her back in a completely new avatar, then it will be weird too coz we all had watched as someone else in the same universe. It's a very tricky situation, can't wait to see how they pull this off convincingly!
ReplyDeleteYes.His scenes with Barry always brings tears to my eyes!
ReplyDeleteThat quirky vibe U're mentioning is out of place and not fitting the show at all. But that is just me, people have different perceptions.
ReplyDeleteI feel like he's trying to hard to be this nerdy cute techy billionaire lover boy
ReplyDeleteYes I mean he is annoying and from my pov doesn't fits the world at all. They need to tone him down and doesn't push him that much.
ReplyDeleteI mean it's Comic Book World but it is a long long stretch. But I trust the writers as they pulled of a great story with Eobard Wells.
ReplyDeleteThe writing is a bit unfitting as well, but that constant smiling and bit bratty attitude is really bugging me.
ReplyDeleteThat quirky vibe U're mentioning is out of place and not fitting the show at all.-THIS!
ReplyDeleteHis sunny predisposition is odd in Arrow!
I'm with you on that. I never found Oliver's moody self obsession endearing at all. Ray Palmer's optimism (even after losing his fiancée) is a breath of fresh air on this show. Felicity used to fill this role, as well, but since they made the Olicity mess canon, she's become as gloomy and dull as the rest of the cast. :(
ReplyDeleteI feel like he's lobbying for a toothpaste commercial!
ReplyDeleteI mean seriously, why are giggling all the time man?
Surprisingly it was a bit over the top in The Flash as well. I think they are trying it to much with him.
ReplyDeleteInteresting...I feel like that will change before it airs. It's not... special enough, if that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteWith how greedy The CW and Warner Brothers are with these shows, trying to squeeze out every last drop they can, the episode order doesn't surprise me.
ReplyDeleteI'm not concerned about the episode order for this show though. I'm more concerned about what CBS might do with Supergirl.
Like when he brought the whole restaurant for the dinner-Such a cliche!
ReplyDeleteA bland procedural,what else?
ReplyDeleteUh, the way you put it it's great. I'll stay with that tought. It's better for my health! ;)
ReplyDeleteOff topic: it annoys me to no end that I can't select anything from the menu at the top of the page. As soon as I scroll down to select something it disappears (i'm using Chrome, if it's of any relevance). Please fix this.
ReplyDeleteIt's like he is on some pills (probably over done w/ the Viagra) really to much. Even when he was in the hospital, really off. Maybe it's not him, it's us who are desperate for desperate characters.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
ReplyDeleteArrow was great before he came along,it'll go back to it's epic quality once he goes to the Spin-off,i'm hopeful!
ReplyDeleteThey need to tone the Ray character down a bunch of notches, and in the words of my mother - make him learn how to shut up.
ReplyDeleteI'm using Chrome and works fine... :S
ReplyDeleteFirst of all his shirt is adorable. Also he's very respectful to the fans and funny, and I love how much he admires Grant, hope he survives the finale and maybe have a bigger role next season.
ReplyDeleteThe title is a little pretentious imo but whatever I don't really care and I think it's just a working title any but he wasn't supposed to blurt it out like that lol but only 13 episodes? Plz tell me Ray won't delight us with his presence in the first half of Arrow season 4!
He really doesn't appreciate the normal life. It even made the characters feel inappropriate.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY HOPE SO! ! !
ReplyDeleteSeason 4 will be a beautiful restart.
Email your problem to support@spoilertv.com, please.
ReplyDeleteI still think it's a show to keep Routh signed and "hot" until they work on his pilot.
ReplyDeleteI really hope he won't be in S04, with maybe the exception of a crossover event to introduce the new show.
ReplyDeleteJohn is so amazing, but I really don't know if the show would work if he was constantly there. This sweet moments with Barry, every once in a while work realy well.
It may be bland (that's up to the writing staff) but it won't be any more procedural than The Flash is. I'm more concerned with, if the show becomes popular enough, CBS will order two or three extra episodes like they do with their other shows and create too much boring filler. I don't need a watered down DC show. When that happens, you get pointless episodes full of bee puns.
ReplyDeleteThere is a rumor about it being moved to CW like Ringer. I don't believe it though.
ReplyDeleteWhat pilot?
ReplyDeleteHighly unlikely, although it might be a better idea!
ReplyDeleteI love Joe-Barry moments,he's so good!
ReplyDeleteIf it's like iZombie/Grimm, I might like its procedural aspect.
ReplyDeleteI still think they could try to launch a stand-alone, 23 episodes show, for fall 2016. As far as we know, this Team-Up Show is a one time thing for mid-season...
ReplyDeleteWith Arrow/Flash doing pretty well and TVD maybe ending after S7... Maybe this 13 episode show for mid-season is a place holder until they work on a possible pilot for a stand alone Atom show.
I don't say it's impossible if handled right, but there could be to much of it when you got Joe-Barry and Barry-Henry moments.
ReplyDeleteKind of, i have my doubts as if this team up limited series is a one time thing while they create the concept for a new stand alone show for fall 2016... Isn't out of the realm of possibilities, especially considering how Flash is doing, how much Arrow improved rating wise and that TVD might end next season...
ReplyDeleteSo this is a theory then? I assumed when you mentioned a pilot that there were publicized plans of some sort.
ReplyDeleteThey actually said it was gonna be a full procedural of Kara solving cases... One of the things i'm on the fence, tbh. I'll have to wait and see...
ReplyDeleteI think they made a mistake by giving him a dead fiancee. She was murdered in front of him by the mirakuru soldiers wasn't she? That's a seriously traumatic thing to witness. Having Ray being optimistic is spite of that would have been a great character strength if we ever got to really see his love and grief for her. We got one story about her death and that her death lead him to want to become a hero, but they threw all that out by changing it to about protecting Felicity and falling in love with her. I don't know if I can buy someone moving past that and dating around 7 months after witnessing something like that.
ReplyDeleteI'd be surprised if DC would allow that over the long term.
ReplyDeleteI think that would be too much. Either go with Vertigo one than another superhero.
ReplyDeleteGlad I could help :)
ReplyDeleteOh, no! It's just me talking... Don't be afraid! A few weeks ago there was a rumor of a pilot named "The Atom". Maybe it wasn't the Team Up Show(Legends), maybe it was it's separate thing to be lanched in fall 2016.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, it is CBS after all. I'm prepared to see "CSI: Metropolis". If you see Nina Tassler talking about the show, you would be scared too xD
ReplyDeleteI don't doubt that, but this is Warner we're talking about. They aren't known for making good choices, tbh. They will saturate the network with superheroes shows out of greed xD
ReplyDeleteAgreed. If they make Henry free, it would be a great dynamic between him and Joe, because they will try to be Barry's "father". It would create some great drama with awesome moments.
ReplyDeleteYAy!! I am so glad the new show is a limited episode series. My wish came true. Now if the team up is to stop a particular catastrophe and the whole series is based on that I will be delighted.
ReplyDeleteLove John Wesley Shipp. He is adorable. But I am not sure if he was supposed to spoil this.
yeh, but I think t might be more how they wrote him in the arrow. But if that crossover is an indication I'm out. Plus, I already dislike heat wave and captain cold.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of Cold but Heat wave is to much for me. Really to much.
ReplyDeleteI hope they dial down Ray in the spinoff, I really hope they do.
it a glitch I have it sometimes.
ReplyDeleteBeg to differ - love Grimm's "hot mess" as you put it. Great show.
ReplyDeleteDude all Viagra does is give you a boner. It doesn't affect mood. And he's way too young to need it.
ReplyDeleteAh, "The Atom" / "Legends" , different working titles, but it's for the same show
ReplyDeleteGiving this a 13-episode order is the best thing that could happen as this whole idea just feels like an event kind of deal.
ReplyDeleteAnd 'Legends' is fine, but I would've loved it if it were 'Society'.
I kinda like the name. Thirteen episodes is a good amount. I hope it's like agent carter where it has a small number of episode but the same budget that 22 episode show would have. The effects would be badass
ReplyDeleteGreat theory
ReplyDeleteA show with a great potential, only if could see past these ridiculous baby plotlines! As you said,to each his/her own.I'm dropped it after the finale.
ReplyDeleteThat's a part of why they become bland procedurals, too many fillers episodes that do not have any meaning in the main story. The Flash might be a provedural but they managed to move the story at a nice pace.
ReplyDeleteSo basically like Gotham, a crime procedural set in the DCU?
ReplyDeleteGod...
I actually think that they'll shoot the spin-off during fall (they usually film at the same time as regular shows do) and Ray turns up again in the back half of season 4
ReplyDeleteOut of all the heros named in the line up, in the DC lore Ray/the Atom, Professor Stein/firestorm and Hawkgirl are the big legends, Rip Hunter is mid level hero, and Sara was written for Arrow. the potential is big for story lines if done right, IMO to many people base their view of The Atom to much off the Arrow storyline and him as a rival to Olicity,
ReplyDeletei like the name but TNT already has a show named "Legends" and hopefully the show will a full-season pickup
ReplyDeleteIt's a joke. And I didn't mean the pills are affecting his mode, I meant he is smiling cause of the constant boner. ^^
ReplyDeleteI liked Ray Palmer in The Flash so I will definitely check this out similar to how I liked Barry in Arrow and kept watching The Flash after I dropped Arrow. The Cisco and Ray bromance was fabulous.
ReplyDeleteEpisode 3x19 of Arrow was the best Ray Palmer episode. It was even better than the Flash one. You can check it out just to see the Ray Palmer bits. Its worth it.
ReplyDeleteBut we are talking about the Arrow universe. It's a tv show. This Ray Palmer has nothing to do with The Atom from the comics; he's more like a Iron Man rip-off or something more close to Blue Beetle if you like(with the exo-suit and that's it).
ReplyDeleteFrom the Arrow perspective, we're talking about a guy who JUST started in the business. Will Ray become a legend? Sure! But right now he's not. Hawkgirl isn't even in the picture. Prof. Stein? Same as Ray.
Sara as The Canary is the most "legend" anyone can get on the show, tbh.
"ATOMIC Kitten" is officially the name of the spin-off show.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you're the one,who still turn me on, you can make me whole again! lol :D
According to Variety, the title is "Legends of Tomorrow". See the last paragraph of this article: variety(dot)com/2015/tv/global/premium-drama-takes-center-stage-in-international-marketplace-1201475430/
ReplyDeleteI hope not.
ReplyDeleteI love the familial bonds on Arrow too, even though they are not shown frequently like on the Flash. That's why I love TA and Oliver and Thea's relationship so much.
ReplyDeleteThey are so good.
ReplyDeleteThat Joe-Barry scene where Joe said: " I need my Barry" was such breaking me down.
But that Henry-Barry scene from the ms finale in the jail cell with Barry completely breaking apart was one of best scenes I saw this entire season.
Stop I'm going to cry again. Both scenes were BEAUTIFUL. Also when Henry indirectly told Barry the he knows Barry's the Flash and told him that he's proud of him.
ReplyDeleteAlso a great scene. Hope for more of that but not to often to keep them special. ^^
ReplyDeleteIt all falls under DC guidelines for their heroes, regardless of what "universe" its in, Ray Palmer is Ray Palmer. DC are not going to let a show retcon a hero.
ReplyDeleteI prefer Oliver and Barry's friendship myself.
ReplyDeleteIt was so great. Plus I loved Oliver's comment about Felicity and Ray being related and Felicity's murderous glare.
ReplyDeleteIt's only 13 episodes. And apparently there's a good chance it'll run doing Flash and Arrow's hiatus.
ReplyDeleteSurprised they didn't go Brave and the Bold.
ReplyDeleteMore likely he'll appear on the Flash.
ReplyDeleteI disagree from Rip Hunter's point of view these guys are legends. He probably will guest at some point.
ReplyDeleteThat's impossible their father-son moments are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI don't feel like they have a friendship at all. More like they have a common destiny and know each other's secret identities so Oliver tolerates Barry and his positive energy. Much in teh way that Oliver seems to tolerate most people.
ReplyDeleteYeah but to often can be to much.
ReplyDeleteNot with those guys.
ReplyDeleteI take it you didn't watch Brave and the Bold? They're friends. They disagree (they basically have a Batman Superman style friendship) but they're quite strong friends. Barry even gave Oliver advice as to how inspire people after he opened up about losing himself. They even laughed and joked with a Rocky III Apollo Rocku style ending fight. Those two are definite friends. Oliver doesn't just tolerate him (he doesn't even do that with most people). But that's Oliver and Ray Palmer to a tee.
ReplyDeleteWell if it lasts longer than four hours...
ReplyDeleteWell yeah seeing your friend dead with three Arrows in her chest will do that. Combined with you finding out your other friend's sister killing her. Then said friend (who you have feelings for) dying doesn't help matters. Then when he comes back from the dead he worked with your friends killer, and in your eyes pretty much compromises every moral he's ever had for a bad reason. Then even better he goes to Nanda Parbat to save that asshole, where an immortal killer offers him a job. He refuses leading to him being framed for murder and now being hunted by the police and your other friend (Roy) takes the blame for said murders and goes to jail. Oh and your boyfriend is nearly killed protecting you and your friend's sister is dead or near dead because of the asshole who offered him a job. So the whole Felicity isn't comic relief enough this season sounds ridiculous to me when you examine the events that have transpired. As is blaming Olicity for said lack of humour, as it not being there would have changed little of Felicity's reactions.
ReplyDeleteLoT is better than just Legends. I think I expected a short. maybe one word title.
ReplyDeleteSweet the whole premise is based on time travel
ReplyDeleteThey may not be hero's now but they are in the distant future
Pretty cool.
I quite like the Legends of Tomorrow title I have to say.
ReplyDeleteNot feeling it.
ReplyDeleteSurprisingly I don't feel the rush to BARF. Congrats to CW if it's true.
ReplyDeleteIt fits the possible theme of the season like the "Tomorrow" , associates Rip. Well done.
Better than just "Legends" but still sounds pretty hoky. Hope it gets renamed before it airs (like we all know it will). Sometimes simpler is better -- "Arrow" and "The Flash" work just fine for me.
ReplyDeleteMuch better! LoT :)
ReplyDelete"Legends of Tomorrow" .... now this works .... I like !!!!
ReplyDeleteThe reason LoT is getting only '13' episodes is because it's a mid-season replacement that won't likely premiere until Feb 2016 ( 10 months from now ) and if it's renewed it'll likely go up to 22 episodes and premiere again in Oct 2016 as par of he CW main seasons shows.
I wonder if Ray aka the Atom will stick around Arrow for the first half of season four before he departs for the spin-off.
This one is much better than Legends!
ReplyDeleteIt made more sense as a title to the Arrow episode because it represented Arrow and The Flash.
ReplyDeleteLegends of Tomorrow. I really like it. So what are they screening. Teaser?
ReplyDeleteOh, i know. I wasn't talking about that. If Rip Hunter cames from the future and says "you're all legends" then i will be ok with the name of the show, since is referencing their future.
ReplyDeleteBut right now, it's their origin stories. They can't be legends if these are their originfs. I was talking purely about the context and story frame the show is.
After 3 years Oliver still isn't Green Arrow but the heroes of the spin-off are already legends after 6 months? Roy became Arsenal in 2 months... wich is ok, since he has to become Red Arrow at some point. Well, Laurel was given the Black Canary name, but it was ok since it was Sara's "canary" with the "black" as mourning for her death.
watch The Flash Season 1 Episode 19 : Who Is Harrison Wells? >> po.st/arS17u
ReplyDeleteLmao what? All of Felicity's reactions this year have just been about Oliver. Oliver dying, Oliver becoming the big bad guy, Oliver not loving her, etc. I mean, Roy leaves, Thea dies and is brought back to life, and all she can find to tell Laurel is WAH WAH OLIVER. Olicity has turned Felicity into a very unlikable, self-centered character.
ReplyDelete
