    (mal)fortune, Athos back on track, Treville in da house.... For me the

    My favourite episode so far of the series - absolutely loved it!! My hubby also said it was awesome, which coming from him must mean it was excellent.


    There is so much to love about the episode. Ryan Gage was brilliant, as was Luca and Tamla. The acting was superb. Loved the scenes with Milady and Athos.


    Totally going to wear this episode out when I get the series 2 disks!


    Now to rewatch, as so many points I've probably missed! :)

    I think Gage is wonderful. Sulking in his chair whining, ordering about. He gets the prize for best lines.
    "I don't like this game." "You're dressed like a man." "Isn't that woman married?"


    Poor Marguerite is getting ignored completely.


    I have to admit, I found Constance a bit annoying for the first half. Enjoyed her much better the back half.


    So glad to see Treville in the midst of things. And being fondly called Captain by his men.


    I do have one overall complaint. How does a woman and her two children wither and die from starvation while a grown man and his brother survive??? LOL.

    Gage was brilliant, I adored him and Leo Gregory together in this as they played off each other so well! :)


    Bonkers story, didn't really hold up to any kind of scrutiny at all tbh, but it was a great character fest episode I feel.

    Yes, I found it quite predictable overall but still filled with lovely goodies. The brother was obviously going to have a change of hear the moment he appeared on screen. LOL. I didn't care for Marmion really at all.


    Loved seeing Rochefort in action with the boys again.

    The only, teeny teeny, teeny complaint I have over this ep is Louis' tired refrain of 'Musketeers suck, Rocheforte's my best fwend. I really hope things are going to turn soon because if there's one more instance of 'I'm disappointed' from him I'm going to reach into the TV and strangle him myself.

    Found the ending slightly cheesy to be honest, but i guess that's what was wanted.

    Episode was intense from every aspect, depending upon whom you were more interested in. The Constance/Dart is out in the open, so to speak.

    The scenario with Milady was there a mile away once the queen and the baby were removed from Louis. The short interractions with Porthos and Rochefort were good and although Milady and Athos were there is small doses - every dose spoke volumes - loved the almost smirk on his face when she had been told to remove her belongings from her room and she said to him about the lack of thanks etc and him feeling obliged to seat her on her horse! Brill

    Still don't understand the pompous love-in with Rochefort after Treville had obviously been part of the rescue mission - that scenario is getting a bit silly.

    Yeah, there's stuff to come obviously, in the next episode especially as you saw in the promo. I'm glad d'Artagnan reversed his cowardly assessment of her though from 2.01, that needed to be said out loud to her imo.

    One of my favourite episodes so far - naturally - though I think An Ordinary Man just gets in front..

    The plot wasn't original but like last week, it's the performances that make it so enjoyable. Ryan and Luke were especially good, Louis showing his fear over potentially killing his wife and son and d'Artagnan showing his fear and concern for both the King and Constance. WTF is Louis doing, continuing not to recognise a loyal Musketeer who's only trying to help him?

    The scenes involving Anne, Aramis and the imprisoned people next door were also brutal and intense.

    Athos and Milady tolerating each other was interesting, I've really intrigued by how their plotline is going to move forward..

    Thank goodness Constance finally took her hand off of Anne's to go and tell the man she loves how she feels..

    Tom and Maimie are totally rocking their scenes this season, the build up between them is almost unbearable isn't it. You just know something is going to have to give at some point between them, lol

    I suppose that answers our question of whether Anne knew about them and whether she'd talked about it with Constance. I'd presumed she had, but it's nice to know it's not a massive surprise to her.

    Okay, now for a calmer approach (difficult, I'm still bouncing!).
    This had everything. Tension, suspense, what's-happening-feeling, gut-wrenching moments, emotions, heroism, love, hate - you name it, it was there.
    Very well played by all actors, very convincing. Ryan was excellent as the tormented King, yet his attitude at the end once again made me curse him. d'Artagnan radiated love and protection, all for Constance, whom I personally love to bits. What a wonderful woman. Aramis as the cat burglar (Window? Rather that than my neck) - that man really does have seven lives! - being all wonderful in rescuing the baby and his love! Porthos, great in his way of dealing with Rochefort, who's equally at his best in the cellar. Athos, cool and calm as ever, won me over instantly when he came strolling in Treville's quarters holding a caraf of wine. Milady scheming as she always did, and despite Athos' thought, she acted out of pure self interest in the end.
    Yes, even the baddies did it for me. I loved every second of the episode.

    So, what's happening to Milady now that she's got to leave the court? What's going to happen to what's-her-name-chambergirl-Aramis-is-fond-of? She's beginning to see some light in the darkness that surrounds the queen and Aramis! And of course, how will the love between d'A and C continue?
    More more more!

    Aahhhh that was brilliant! Every character had great moments, and it was quite satisfying to see Rochefort kill Marmion I must admit. I'm not that into D'Artagnan and Constance but I loved their scenes this episode and the others looked so chuffed when they kissed haha.

    Ahh I couldn't stop smiling! even when Marguerite was looking all jealous at Aramis and Anne. Those two only had eyes for each other. The scene when they were holding the baby as Marguerite skulked behind had me grinning inanely. Plus Aramis scaling the building was pretty great as well. I am so obsessed with him haha.

    I think with constance and D'artagnan the storyline has to be written in bold pallete to underline the emotional element from a viewers point of view and the stage the relationship is in.

    Everybody so badly wanted the ending they got for this episode - for their characters it makes sense. For the more world weary couple, the sniping and goading is working well - real fun, sassy but more subtle, but that is what you would expect! I hope there is something that is going to give otherwise it has been a wasted journey!

    It was exactly what I hoped it would be and everything that an episode of The Musketeers should be. It had exactly the right balance which meant that everyone got a chance to shine and have their moment. Constagnan, Anamis, Porthos and Rochefort (Porfort? :)) Treville, the King. Brilliant one and all. I confess I felt myself tearing up as Marmion spoke of the devastation of his family. A superb performance from Leo Gregory. Frankly I was pretty much pretending to have something in my eye from the moment D'Artagnan started begging them not to harm Constance. By the end I'd given up any pretence at dignity. As for the final kiss....just perfection...On a less euphoric note, my worry for Constance increases. That remark about spending the rest of her life with D'Artagnan. God, I just hope it's not a short one. Tonight felt so much like a Constagnan fan's happy ending, dream come true, that I can't help thinking there'll be a thorn on this particular rose. I really hope I'm wrong. Either way, tonight was Constagnan bliss and if that's all there is, I'll happily burn up my DVD when it arrives and pretend that the series ended right here! Lol. I just loved their friends watching them with such joy. Looks like we were right about Bonacieux becoming a violent husband. If/when D'Artagnan finds out Athos, Porthos, Aramis and Treville will have to chain him up in a cellar to prevent him ripping Bonacieux to pieces. Indeed, they might want a piece of him themselves. Poor Marguerite. This is a horror story for her. The slowly dawning realisation that it wasn't so much over, as never really was, was painful to watch. Poor form Aramis, poor form. Really interesting developments with Milady and her relationship with Athos. I'm really liking the complexity of her character this series. She has him hooked like a fish and try as he might, he can't break free. Oh, there was just so much to love. Before this turns into a thesis, I'm off for a re-watch.

    One of the best episodes of the series , yes the story might of had a few plot holes but it had a edge and darkness I throughly enjoyed . I was hooked from start to finish , all the actors were on top form and the episode was tightly done. And I knew the d'Artagnan and Constance kiss would make some very happy. I am a Aramis /Anne person myself but it was really good to see them finally realize they belong together .
    Louis needs a slap sometimes where his loyal Musketeers are concened.I have to say but this was most certainly a 10/10 episode for me.

    That was an awesome episode ! more than the others.
    Love all the characters, their romance too.
    I also really like all the scenes (especially the fight).


    The unbelievable pair -Pothos and Rocheford - I thought I didn't like it but they do a good job together (for now).


    Milathos (Love it even a little too much) ! but Constance and d'Artagnan at the end was sweet, also when they protect each other. For the triangle between Aramis & Marguerite & Anne is something now I'm gonna follow more than before.


    (For god's sake) The king's still a child even with all the events (I thought he's gonna take more responsability but clearly not) .
    Rocheford, playing the good samaritan, at the end he is the hero not The Musketeers -WTF- (the king's gonna mad !!!) .


    But I'm gonna watch this episode again till the next comes out.

    Yes, when she said 'I want to spend the rest of my life with you' the first thing that came into my head was 'but how long will that be?' Agggh! I'm going to just stick my fingers in my ears and pretend this is the happy ending, no matter what comes next. If it stopped right here with that kiss and a whole future ahead of them, I'd be a happy camper. :)

    Yeah, Louis's love for Rochefort is getting a bit OTT now, I hope the writers haven't gone too far with this because there's a danger that some viewers will never be able to un-see his poor treatment of the Musketeers.

    Yeah, it was definitely a fan service episode in that regard I think. The characters moved on in the way you expected them to generally - although there is still some fallout to come next week for a few of them that might not be quite as expected. I am surprised at how much I am liking Milady this year really. I didn't dislike her in S1, I enjoyed her performance wise but didn't feel any sympathy for her at all. I much prefer her out from under the Cardinal's control.

    Funny your mum should pick up on that cause i would agree with her. I have never been able to quite put a finger on it, but there is a lack of chemistry between them - and i do think it is her. Like Pirates of the carribean - absolutely no chemistry between Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly weird - i think your mum is right!

    Ok, breathing is just about back to normal, so my thoughts:

    Sandi's description of "steampunk mayhem" was so perfect for this episode! The whole set was amazing and the cameras as usual were really well placed and well used. Loved the music too.

    Louis...oh Louis, you utter muppet. What can I say? Lying on the floor at Marmion's feet??? Have some dignity, man! He's such a spineless little weasel. How many times does the world have to slap him in the face and FORCE him to look at the consequences of his cowardly, childish behaviour before he actually SEES it? Surely nobody can be that determinedly blind, and it's surprising that in A Good Man he DID have some soul searching and seemed to be grasping exactly what his problem was. He just has this weird myopic way of conveniently forgetting every lesson he learns as soon as he's back in charge.

    Aramis and Anne are going to be in big trouble. Marguerite was absolutely a woman scorned by the end, and I'm not sure if her next move will be out of spite, hurt, or being weak and manipulated by Rochefort. Maybe all three, but we just don't know enough of her character to be able to guess, or, frankly, care. She's insipid and naive, with no likeable qualities that I can discern. And if she'd get rid of those awfully unattractive gigantic bell-sleeves, that would be nice too. :)

    Treville - my poor Treville. He's lost that hurt, let-down look he had when Louis first started spitting at him, and is now just resigned to being eternally wrong. There's definitely a difference in his demeanour around the King. He's respectful as always, but something's been lost. :(

    Porthos - I just love him. Always steady and sensible. And almost choking the life out of Rochefort with that chain is definitely an achievement he should put on his CV>

    Athos and Milady - there's a reckoning coming. With Athos offering to help her next week, it'll make it far easier for Catherine to find her than if she'd still been at the Palace...

    And finally , my darling Constagnan. Just beautiful. :) Although after that ending I am now desperately worried for Constance. I've said before that I can't see them getting a happy ending, so this could well be the calm before a devastating and bloody storm. I hope to God not, but it always seems to be the way these things go.

    However I was amused at the entirely unashamed and voyeuristic way the entire Musketeer regiment were just standing there watching them kissing in the middle of the field. Even Treville was getting a bit excited by the end! :P

    People see different things, the same way they want different things, in and from relationships is the best I can come with. They are a popular couple, so there must be something there for their fans to be so behind the ship. Not everyone will feel the same way, but then the world would be kinda boring of we did :)

    Totally. I mean, for a start, where and how did skint ole Marmion get the dosh for this rambling old fort, let alone transform that room into the gorgeous setting it became? Bonkers! But the performances where something else indeed, as where Andy Hay and Paul Englishby's input behind the camera too. The music when we saw that the people in the room had indeed been killed, just before Aramis rescued the queen was just heartbreakingly beautiful!!

    Louis XIV was about 5 when his father died (in 1643 ish) which means if this prog. started in 1630 (opening episode series 1) this child cannot be Louis. Hence the reason why they don't call him by his name.

    Yup, perfectly refuting that 'coward' comment. They both showed so much courage, but it was really Constance, the woman rather than the big tough soldiers, who shamed Marmion about what he was doing. The fact that both Constance and d'Artagnan were willing to die to save the other was a real testament to their love. Their courage also showed up just how pitiful Louis is. They didn't beg for their own lives, they fought for others' while facing the gun, while Louis collapsed and bawled.

    They are changing so much of history that it's hard to know what they are intending to do at present really. Galileo didn't describe the movement of the planets in detail until 1632, and even then he wasn't believed by anyone and put under arrest for the rest of his life. Making this story complete nonsense for a start, lol.

    True, but for Adrian's version and his obvious intention for d'Artagnan to become that 'great' man in S3, I'd hope there will be some progress with this Louis before the end. It would be a bit odd to have them still estranged at the very end of the show's run.

    I guessed there was a reason he was at the back of the line walking up the hill! I was honestly thinking it would end with Aramis and Anne somehow. Well, it did, but I wasn't expecting the main focus of the scene to be Constagnan.

    Yeah, how sad and exhausted did he look just before she came down the hill to him? I thought for one awful moment it would end with her getting in the carriage and another of their longing looks as she faded away into the distance. That would have been promptly followed by my slinging a bag of Walkers Sensations Thai Sweet Chilli Crisps at the TV along with the remnants of half a box of kleenex. :)

    Absolutely loved when Anne saw Constance walking up the hill safe and sound, as well as Anne's look on her face when d'Artagnan and Constance were kissing. Loving the friendship that Anne and Constance have! They're both definitely going to have each other's backs in the upcoming episodes for sure. :)

    The other thing that was odd and maybe I missed this but the other folk grabbing bits and pieces and the bird masked dudes, I assume were also former residents of the unfortunate village. They all decided to follow a vengeful, homicidal astronomer (was there much call for that in small French peasant villages in the 17th Century?) and involve themselves in an elaborate plot predicated on the possibility of a solar eclipse and a curious King...say what???

    Loved the episode. The episode was intense but I'm so happy they were still able to insert some humor here and there. Athos and his dry one liners. Aramis all beaten up and lounging in the doorway asking about the eclipse. Porthos was great too. And of course all 3 couples had their moments and I loved the ending. I fear Marguerite will be going off the deep end soon...and Rochefort will be helping her get there.

    Especially when it wasn't so logical in this episode to view it that way. I can see the king logically lashing out at the Musketeers, but Rochefort spent most of the time in the basement tied to Porthos, so it's a massive twist to make him the hero of the hour.

    Yes. In the book and real life, d'Artagnan was actually closer to, and captain under, Louis XIV. And, if the hazy historical documents are to be believed, it was actually Cardinal Mazarin he was close to. For all that matters in context of a very fictional tv show - ha :)

    I doubt d'Artagnan will fulfill this destiny in S3. I think Adrian's comments have been a little overblown in this respect. I think what could happen is that we'll see d'Aragnan being put in more situations where he has to make difficult leadership-based choices, but I don't think he's becoming the captain, or the oft repeated "greatest of them all" just yet. Especially if they plan to play it like the books - where the commission is offered to Athos Porthos and Aramis who all turn it down so d'Artagnan can take it.

    It must be strange to act such a scene where you're basically just making out in front of the entire cast, who are also script-boun to stand and watch! Normally scenes like this are more intimate, probably with just the crew and cameras, etc, but they're basically standing there for going on five minutes while everyone gets an eyeful. I don't doubt at all Luke and Tamla were making a giggle of it. What else can you do?!!

    He is still a little naive, and I wonder (a little worriedly) what Adrian's intentions will be for him in this respect in order to move him closer to being what the producers perceive is closer to that person he's supposed to become?


    We're already seeing a heroic soldier. We're already seeing someone who is a good fighter. Who is compassionate and brave, and all those things. So what will series 3 do to move him towards that destiny that's not already being done?


    Pure speculation here, but I fear it would be taking d'Artagnan to a slightly darker place, or separating him from the influence of the three so that he has to stand on his own a little more. Really, it's kind of wide open, but could mean a lot of different things.

    My inner cynic talking now. My one thought about the ending is that it felt a little ominous to have so much joy in episode six. The way everyone seemed to get caught up in this idealized moment felt like foreshadowing.


    How much more painful for Athos and all of them will it be if Milady betrays them again now? (I'm caught up in this one - really don't want her to.) If some form of Constance's fears come to fruition? Aramis and the queen in that moment seemingly believing in the possibility of love over duty? (At least that look between them while watching d'Artagnan and Constance kiss seemed to show they were really caught up in the moment of 'we love each other, who cares about anything else' which is trouble, I say. Trouble.) Will it make them less cautious when they're already on the ledge?


    I just have a bad feeling about all of this.

    I think leadership. He's not had the opportunity to show that so much yet, with Treville and the others around, and being of course the youngest and most inexperienced of the group. We may start to see him taking charge of events more, and he'll almost certainly face darker choices. The test for him is not to just confront them - he's confronted some pretty horrific stuff already and seems to be still intact, emotionally - but to learn to deal with the consequences of those impossible choices, as Aramis and Trevile had to do with Seville, for example. I think he's pretty good at working through things that trouble him, but we'll really see it as the stakes get higher and higher (as they surely will in the third and probably last series) and I think that's more what Adrian's getting at with the 'destiny' vision than just being heroic. Athos is already a big part of that and will be crucial in guiding him towards it.

    Yes, that could be it, but they'd have to be careful to play it - I won't say realistically, because this show isn't so much about that but - believably.


    As I said above, a lot of this journey is already being done. More leadership chances would be logical, but it's not going to work for him to suddenly start giving orders to the other three (which would not fly on so many levels).


    Personally, I'd like to see him experience larger battles/war. I'd like to see new and different scenarios with him making more difficult choices and sacrifices. Continuing maturity. More guidance by Athos. Maybe more time one-on-one with Treville. Those types of things would ring true to me as the next logical steps in the character's journey.

It's too good a plot device to pass up, and finally give them a clue what's been going at the Palace. We may be seeing the start of all the big reveals shuffling into place for the finale.

    Porthos needing 5 men to contain him while Rochefort only got one was hilarious to me for some reason...
    Rochefort who by the way continues to coast on having to dumb down other characters and gloss over situations in order to make him look good. He is a very unworthy antagonist really, if the only way to elevate him is to downplay everything else.

    I'll say it again: I miss the Cardinal and Peter Capaldi so much!


    Ryan keeps on doing an incredible job in his portrayal of the King, but OH! MY! GOD! is Louie becoming truly insufferable!


    The frame story was an interesting set up to showcase that even more. He does feel no consequences. Having to contrast him with Marmion who was willing and resigned to sleep in the bed he lay, and even Robert who took his own stand... then to see Louie incapable of growing and learning from even these circumstances makes him even less likable.



    I can't say Constance really owns me with her judge-y high moral ground all the time. I think generally her stance is too exposition-y and over the top, and she herself comes off looking more like a perfect little Mary-Sue, than strong female character. In other words I think they're failing to portray her as they intend to, and I can find her grating, annoying, repetitive and redundant most of the time. That she is surrounded by actual strong female characters (Milady for sure is, but Anne also IMO has a quiet strength which can go unnoticed) I think underlines that problem.

    As for her love story... don't get me wrong, I think she and D'Artangan can be cute together (mostly because I love D'Artangan) but I'm not terribly invested in their romance (the issues I have with her character kinda factor in that). So the episode being heavy on their storyline was "meh".


    Anne/Aramis and Athos/Milady (who totally need to get it on just for the sake of blowing off some steam at this point), on the other hand I care very much about. So that we got some good moments for them amidst all that chaos balanced that out.


    Yay for Treville acting and being treated like Cpt even if he no longer is the captain.


    I do wonder how Margeruite will react to being blown off like that. I gots a feeling she's starting to catch on too... not good...

    Wonderful Episode , fully packed of Action , all the ships... OMG Annamis!!!! Constagnan (though honestly I don´t ship them and I don´t think they have any chemistry whatsoever), Portamis Athos and Milady (Tom looking really sexy )The Stunts (Santi is my hero ...I want to marry him or kidnap him at least since he is already married), Milady rocks. Treville rocks... Best episode so far. I somehow have the feelings that series to is going in crescendo with every new episode, so I am excited of what will come next.
    Athos gets the best lines all the time..."That was either a wounded bull, or Porthos" Great line.
    And where to begin with the guest stars... every episode we see a collection of amazing actors. And the parts they are given are really great.
    Also, I feel for Marguerite, she has been the most ignored throughout the episode, by Aramis...even when she was hanging from his neck he only had Eyes for Anne . By the Queen ..."your Joy is understandable...I share it" and when she saw Constance was safe. Sure she realised there that she has been used by him (Ouch... I wouldn´t whant to be Aramis in the next episodes, a rejected woman is worse than ebola ...lethal)
    And let´s don´t forget the King. Spoiled coward Louis. "Why everyone hates me?? Really Louis ?? You need to ask??? Because you are an Ass%$&$. That´s why.
    Amazing chapter. I´ll broke my laptop (lucky I´ll be getting a new one soon) after a whole weekend of watching this episode over and over again. I love the last scene when Aramis gave Anne a very intense look when watching Constance and D´ Artagnan l Bet he was thinking "that could be us"... And the look Anne gave him back... OMG OMG OMG!!

    I must admit, considering that Constance is effectively cheating on her husband from this point on, I'm surprised that their romantic reunion wasn't done in a more private way and allowed to be a little more intimate than it was.. It was still a lovely moment and seeing d'Aragnan happy after all that drama was great but as Sandi has said, it did have a 'fan service' feel about it. Hopefully episode 7 re-introduces the more serious aspect of them being back together, which it looks like it will.

    Was Constance's line about 'for the rest of my life' foreshadowing? I'm not sure.

    D'Artagnan showing leadership skills or having to go off on missions on his own ( developing away from the other three ) would be a great direction for his character to go in. At some point, he needs to start standing out, otherwise he won't be perceived as the future legendry Musketeer.

    If Adrian fears that the possibility of a series 4 is unlikely because of poor viewing figures on BBC 1 and the way that BBC America and BBC Worldwide may have had to help 'bail out' the third series, he might fast-forward a touch some of the long-term storylines.

    I am now convinced, more than ever that Milady is not the possible death (if in fact there is one). The short, but emotionally charged scenes with Athos are too good to pass up and her character is too big to loose.

    I didnt want to enjoy the sudden change in Athos (which is a big switch in a short space of time - especially as his words to Catherine last week didnt speak highly of Milady) but oh boy how it works! The way he grabbed her to get her to stay away from the fight and her reply, taking his pistol, incidentally the one she used to save him, were well worth the other 59 mins and the slight smirk on his face during their last exchange of words...yep.

    If others now fear for the safety of Constance, maybe in the ensuing drama with Catherine, Milady and Athos, possibly she gets caught in the crossfire.

    A lot depends on the direction of series 3 - war, politics, maybe.

    After such a frightening event when they all though they were going to die, it doesn't surprise me that Constance went to him in front of everyone. It was a 'life's too short' realisation and people do tend to throw caution to the wind after finding they're safe and have a second chance at life.

    I'm sure 'The' romantic reunion will be a lot more private. :)

    I still think if anything does happen to Constance it will be Rochefort related. She's between him and the Queen, and knows about the letters to Spain. He'll see her as a threat, and having seen her blatant reunion with d'Artagnan, he'll work out the way Milady did last year that he can go through her to attack the Musketeers.

    I have to agree with you about the portrayal of Constance. Now I love Constance and Tamla's acting! However, she annoyed me most of the episode. I think the issue is that they want to portray her as a good soul with a infallible moral compass. This worked when she was in the privacy of her own home, but when she is in court with everyone being devious and selfish and cunning, I do think it comes off a bit grating at times. I also agree with you that the writers aren't intending this. The only other time I really felt this way about her this series was the episode with the sick dauphin.
    I prefer series 1 Constance for many reasons including this one. I'm hoping that her new path with d'Artagnan removes her from the court somewhat so she can get back to being earthy and in her own element. If she remains in court, I would love to see her more conflicted instead of so quickly spouting out all the good decisions everyone should be making. Her situation with her husband may help with that!
    Overall, I adore her and think Tamla is wonderful.

    In some ways, I think Constance being tied to Anne hasn't done her character any favours because it's taken her away from being the feisty character that she was in S1. Constance can never really be herself in the presence of the Queen or at court, she can only be herself - truly - with d'Artagnan and the other Musketeers.
    Dare I say it but I think Constance has become more girly in the presence of Anne and whilst I don't have any problems with that kind of character in general - we're all different and that's a good thing - it's not how Constance came across in S1 and therefore it's jarring.

    A lot of armies back then had their families tagging along behind them as camp followers. If they go to war in S3, wouldn't that be a perfect way to get her out of the palace and near the action. :)

    I believe the show's historian said that it was rare for Musketeers to have wives because their job was almost 24/7, so it would be interesting to have Constance truely learn what it's like to be the wife / lover of a Musketeer - with Bonacieux out the way - though her job might give her more security than she'd otherwise have.

    Marmion was played absolutely fantastically.

    Loved getting to know another side of the King. Gage is absolutely brilliant in his role.
    I miss him and Capaldi so badly.


    I missed the bromance after the last episode (my favourite of the season), but Rochefort-Porthos's pair was odd and funny at least.


    Aramis, thanks a lot for the Fall. I don't miss Sherlock at all. Nope at all, really (spoiler: DAMN HIATUS).

    I apologise in advance for what i am going to say especially to all those who love the actress that plays Constance but...... i don't think her acting is very convincing. It is at best amateur at times and somewhat immature. Maybe that is why i cannot convincingly invest in the relationship and find it lacking some oooomph!

    I did apologise before i started and i will apologise again. But as with everything else, it is only a personal opinion. (sorry)

    I agree completely on Milady. I do not think she is going to die but at the same time I do not think her and Athos are going to be getting back together at least not until the series is over if ever. They are gold just as they were last night.

    Constance and D'Art are also such a popular couple, not sure they would kill her off. I think in the end or at least hope that who ever bites the dust it will be nobody too important.

    It is good to be able to acknowledge that i am not the only one who thinks that neither Aramis/Anne or D'Artagnan and Constance have any chemistry really. I guess it makes little difference to the storyline but maybe it is only highlighted because Burke/McCoy have all the chemistry. i guess that is what acting is all about - everytime they are together, from her arrival at the garrison, through the horse mounting (oops), to the little sections at the chateau, they are sexy. No other word for it.
