  4. For me, it's a toss up between Joss, Mellie, Annalise, Carrie and Allison.

Labelling characters like MIndy and Laurel "flawed": in the same sentence as Regina Mills is like referring to both a ripple and a tsunami as a waves.

  5. April Kepner (GA)

  6. Emily Thorne, Annalise Keating, Allison, Norma Bates, Piper Chapman, Mellie Grant, Laurel Lance.
Um, can we choose more than 3? :P

  7. Regina Mills (OUAT), Annalise Keating (HTGAWM) and Norma Bates (Bates Motel)

  8. In my opinion Sarah or Helena would have been much better choices. No one is as flawed as they are.

  9. I guess you could say so.

  10. Norma Bates and Root bit those are the only shows I watch from this poll

  11. Regina, Liars, Mellie, Annaliese, Emily, Joss

  12. There are some characters on this list that I absolutely love (say for ex. Root). So, I am not including them in my selections.

Norma Bates - tragic character guaranteed to have a tragic end down the road. And Vera Farmiga has elevated her character to new heights by portraying Norma's grief, possessiveness, instinct to protect her sons against all odds in an amazing manner.

Piper Chapman - Everyone shits on her, sometimes justifiably - the inmates, the people outside the prison and the fans. But S2 showed an amazing development in her character. So, I still root for her.

Laurel Lance - Everyone's favorite punching bag, used very badly by writers over the past 2 seasons, the fans would love to see her die or disappear - all these make her the underdog against overwhelming odds - so I root for her and her struggles.

  13. She doesn't mind breaking a few moral boundaries here and there, but yeah, she's one of the good guys now.

  14. Emily Thorne, Regina Mills and Carrie Matheson; I thought about Laurel too, but I had to choose Carrie over her

  15. Regina/Ouat

  21. None. The only show I watch in this poll, is with the one girl I will neverrrr root for. So sad, I actually was interested in this poll by the topic.

  22. From this list, I voted for Joss from Mistresses, Allison from Orphan Black, and Root from Person of Interest. There are several others that I root for as well.

  23. Emily Thorne, of course. And then... Regina and Annalise.

    Linden - The Killing

    Alicia - The Good Wife
    Elizabeth - The Americans

  31. Regina, for sure... Since the first moment i saw her i wanted her to be friends with Emma and Snow. Why? I don't have the most single idea... But i rooted for her.

Also, i guess i root for Laurel... I sure rooted for her on Season 1. Now i just one that the writers write something good for her, tbh. I love Dinah, i think Katie Cassidy deserves a better story than this.

  32. Regina
Daphne. But her last name is Vasquez not Sorrento.
    The PLLs
    Annalise
    Emily

  33. Regina Mills, love her to death, by far the best character on the show, she has had the best character development and she hasn´t lost her touch.
I also really like Emily Thorne, love when she goes all badass.

  34. I've always really liked Laurel, despite the poor writing and half-baked storylines they've given her since Season 1. Sure, she's bitter and volatile, but she's had a pretty tumultuous life lately. I hope the Black Canary plot works out better than I think it might.

  35. My top three are the top 3 in the poll! Emily, Regina and Root!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Root, Emily Mellie. If I had another vote, Regina.

  37. Everyone's favorite punching bag, used very badly by writers over the past 2 seasons, the fans would love to see her die or disappear - all these make her the underdog against overwhelming odds - so I root for her and her struggles.
All of this can just as easily describe Katrina Crane from "Sleepy Hollow"! She'd be on my list, too. It seems the more hated a female character is, the more I feel the urge to want to defend them/like them.
I would also wholeheartedly agree with Norma Bates. That woman's in for a world of hurt, and we all know how it'll end for her storywise, but you can't help but hope for good things for her anyway. And I agree with you on her fierce protection of her son. Their relationship, twisted as it is, is fascinating to me.

  38. Root, Regina and its a toss up between Carrie Matheson and Annalise.

  39. Regina from OUAT and Norma from Bates Motel. Absolutely LOVE them :-)

  40. Well the always sassy (reformed-psycho-killer?) Root o fPerson of Interest, the always delightful & weird Allison of Orphan Black & my No.1 choice Regina aka Evil Queen.

  41. Regina, Root and Alison.

    ReplyDelete
  42. root, regina, piper, emily, carrie and laurel
not on here: alison dilaurentis (although she maybe classed as the PLL's)

    ReplyDelete
  43. none. I only know Regina, Laurel, Carrie and Root and I dislike all of them. generally I think a lot of female characters are portrayed as horrible persons (or maybe I just watch the wrong shows). Like Amy from TBBT or Molly from Mike&Molly. They even managed to turn Covert Affair's Annie in a stupid and annoying character. My favorite female TV characters right now Castle's Kate Beckett and Arrow's Felicty.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Emily, Root and the Pretty Little Liars :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Literally every character is flawed. If they're not, they're badly written.

    ReplyDelete
  46. So you're saying that a poll about "flawed" characters is the same as a poll about any character?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Well, sure, they'd need to be MORE flawed for this poll, but a huge number of people on the list aren't near that level AT ALL.

    ReplyDelete
  48. That was my problem with the poll. Even if we're all flawed, half of those people don't qualify to actually be on a poll about "flawed" characters...which is why I made the original comment (with the ripple/tsunami analogy)
