    because it appears that a very vocal majority of the fandom still considers her a valid threat to their ship and thus would love to see her gone from the show entirely so the fandom gets to have a sense of victory despite already having won the "war". It's a testiment to the times we live in, fictional relationships and the obstacles that run between are often greeted with vile insults towards the obstacle and blatant hypocrisy into the other direction. While in earlier days a romantically focused fanbase looked for fullfillment in romantic novels this base now seeks and finds the same investment in scripted television. Be it "The Kardashians" or "The Vampire Diaries". Especially since the invention of social media platforms that offer a "direct" line to the production companies and creative minds behind a show this behaviour of directly feeling the need to influence a show by verbally attacking/abusing or merely ridiculing of "the obstacle" has become a every-day way of dealing with problems we feel a sense of distance from, this distance being a computer screen.
    Sociology wise it's fairly interesting to see the mob-esque behaviour of a batch of people masked through the internet ganging up on one character and the actor/actress behind it, if given validation by the rest of the fandom it appears to be socially accepted to jump both fictional characters without a basic line of criticism or a real life person.

    I think this scene is before Malcolm delivers the news of Oliver's death. She seems confident and not grieving. Laurel must have realized Oliver's absence for the past 3 days and came to see what's up.

    Now we need Thea promo too.

    It's not just that scene. I usually don't connect with her. Her face and her eyes don't express the emotions she is supposed to be feeling. When she is angry or determined or stubborn I can see it but you know emotions like concern or sympathy or showing vulnerability in general that's when she loses me. I can't feel her grief because it's so clouded by anger. I understand her anger, she has every right to be but I've seen her angry a lot before now I need to see the sadness underneath that anger so I can feel her pain.

    I think she's at the foundry because of Oliver's absence and she wants to make sense of it so she goes to the foundry. I don't really see anything wrong with that. Hopefully once the shock disappears, Laurel will have more facial expressions because I'm tired of her 'shocked' face :p

    I keep asking myself if Colton wouldn't have been better off staying on Teen Wolf. I like Roy but I'll admit that his performance is without a doubt the weakest on Arrow. And while Arrow itself might not be graced with a "fantastic" cast (I do think that Barrowman/Blackthorne/Holland are great while Cassidy/Ramsey/Rickards fall in the okay category with Amell and Haynes taking the lower side of the spectrum) but Teen Wolf as a show has a REALLY bad cast altogether. Pretty faces without much talent. He wouldn't stand out as the worst and could probably do some decent lines there. While on Arrow...the talking is righteously given to others

    I've always had a strong liver and usually lose at Kings Cup (whenever you pick the wrong card you have to spill your drink into one giant pint and the loser gets to drink the ENTIRE mix) but I don't think I'd survive that. But on the pro-side. I've met some shippers that actually are cool (something I'm not used to from my TVD days) and my tolerance level has been raised significantly

    just look at imdb, I might not be a fan of shipping but still see the importance of romantic arcs in literature (and Arrow however it's a bit too much for my taste on that show). On imdb however there's virtually no tolerance for any romantic aspect....at all

    I left it for that reason, I like some of the guys like cdull but every imdb page falls into an extreme. The board for TO is a complete Klayley-shipper infested place that actually asks questions like "Why can't Klaus sleep with his sister if Elijah gets to bang Hayley" (wich in the context of the show makes absolutely no sense).


    It attracts certainly some extremists.


    I generally love to discuss my favourite shows for relaxation but ever since starting to interact with fandoms I've learned one valuable lesson: if you're looking for solid material for your psychology classes you'll have a field day with TV fandoms

    I feel ya there, I love Laurel, I try not to hate anyone on any show to be honest though there are the fair few...I'm tired of the ship war because I agree on both accounts (Laurel because comics, Felicity because chemistry, at this point I want Oliver alone with his kid by the end of the series) but I was angry about the Sara/Oliver arc. I felt for Laurel and it made me instantly dislike Sara, like yes she's a badass and an awesome fighter but I just thought the relationship was rushed. She was angry and couldn't grieve because they both 'died' on the ship but now they're alive and still screwing each other, she had every right to be angry.

    Yep, i liked Lemire's run A LOT! But the environment just changed after Kreisberg took over(as if we haven't suffer enough with his Cupid story, back in the day), it has an Arrow vibe written all over it. They smoked Oliver's previous companions(Naomi and Fyff) to make room to Felicity.
    The comic is just a rehash of Arrow... It's like a bad fanfiction, tbh. And the illustrations suck too.

    Water under the bridge, really. I remember chewing you out on one of your comments but sometimes people say things they regret during the heat of the moment.
    I was mainly taking the words from IMDB users who generally use said colorful adjectives when describing shippers. It's almost sad. Because they obsess over Olicity almost as much as the Oliciters.

    Dude, forget about comicbook canon. Instead of the show taking from comics it's the comics that are taking from the show. I read them and they're now a bad rehash of Arrow.
    That whole story was a piece of crap and was even worst is they wrote Laurel as "the bad guy" and next episode she was giving Oliver relationship advices. She could not talk to him anymore and i would have supported her.
    I don't like how her character is written, but we don't bash her... There's always gonna be some idiots, but we can't just not let them write idiotic things.

    I easily jump on Olicity simply because they're big and there, however I'd jump on Lauriver shippers as well....if there were any (badum-tss) if they went overboard on twitter/facebook like some Oliciters do at times.

    From all the ship bases I've encountered Olicity is certainly one of the biggest, obviously that brings a batch of crazies with it. However I've never seen so extremely different shippers in one fandom. You have those that reason, those that really just watch and enjoy. the people that are really into it and won't reason aaaaand then you have those that send death threats. It's both amazing and a tad disturbing to see a romantic couple unite so many people.


    imdb users appear to generally be very comic book focused. Also they are a vocal minority, an absolute minority in every sense. Nolanites despise them for liking Arrow wich is "a cheap knock-off" and shippers dislike them for wanting to fullfill the "Laurel/Oliver destiny" (wich is off the table IMO, I don't see Felicity/Oliver as endgame either but Laurel/Oliver is dead)

    Well he did, he introduced Felicity as his techie, gave Oliver the stubble/short hair and turned the narrative into a fairly Arrow-esque way.

    I haven't read enough to say that it sucks but the statement that he made it Arrow: the Comic is a fairly sober one

    The problem I had with her season 1 performance was actually that she played her character a tad too old. She appeared more experienced than Tommy/Oliver and thus destroyed the "childhood friends" facade on my part.


    But against popular belief I enjoyed her acting in season 2 a lot more. I fault the writers for aprubtly ending the drug storyline but IMO KC delivered Laurels downfall perfectly.


    Now the writers are making a 180° with the character since they see that the fandom responds negatively to break Laurel down completely before building her up (so they jumpstart the Black Canary arc) and so far KC is solid.


    If I was given her material I would probably go insane with all her characteristics changing from episode to episode. I'm not sure wich writer I have to fault but it appears like there're at least 3 writers that have 3 different VERY set ideas of how she has to be. And these 3 never seem to communicate

    The only way I don't see Felicity/Oliver being endgame is if Felicity or Oliver dies by the series finale (*insert Michael Scott's oh god please no! gif*). But that's a conversation for another day :) I'd actually LOVE to chat with you about this though. I like talking to objective people!


    I think it's incredible how a couple can bring so many people together. I mean, to have that couple inspire people to make fan-art/fanfics/metas etc. It's just really mindblowing and a wonderful phenomenon. But then there are the people who go overboard (and honestly I feel these people are usually teens who haven't completely developed emotionally/mentally).


    Then again, it makes sense. In society you always have a group of crazies who tend to be violent. Why should it be different in a subset of the population? I hope that makes sense? IDK
