AWESOME!! Maggie Q is badass!! The scenes is the elevator is freaking creepy. I can't wait for next week, very intrigued by the lead characters. That scene were Beth Davis beats that guy for videotaping his roommate was cool, it's like her old Nikita self is back :)
Tv.com made me think this would be the most horrible pilot of the season. I'm glad I did the smart thing and ignored them. If I had listened to them, I never would have watched 2 Broke Girls, which they also despise.
It definitely have me a HUGE Dexter vibe. As in, Jack (Dylan McDermott) was very reminiscent of Dexter (Michael C. Hall) in his manner of figuring things out. Not necessarily figuring out the exact perpetrator, but how the perpetrator committed the crime and an abundance of information on the victim (like the clear shower curtain of the first victim as well as the position of the bed).
With that being said, I'm not comparing the two at all, more so just saying that you can definitely see the comparison.
The acting was top notch, especially Dylan McDermott (whom I'm a huge fan of from AHS and Hostages of which he was the best part of).
Loved the storyline and the writing.
Really, really glad to see the music at the end of the episode which is hugely reminiscent of Kevin Williamson's other show (The Following). He always nails the music perfectly. Creep was just a fantastic song choice at the end of the episode.
Hmm. It's quite a contrast. Every critic is saying that this show is the worst and should be avoided. I was curious to see what the viewers thought about it and looks like they liked it.
Pretty awesome pilot! Once again, the critics are completely wrong.
Beth and Jack are really interesting characters and I can't wait to learn more about them in the coming weeks. Especially about Beth's past about her herself being a victim of stalking.
The creep factor was definitely there throughout the pilot. Seriously, that first scene is going to give me nightmares tonight.
Also, the excellent acting and the intriguing storyline was there. I'm impressed.
Overall, this show has major potential and I can see it becoming even better later on in the season. Crossing my fingers it has great ratings tomorrow!
I voted "good". It's definitely not bad and the ending with both leads having some emotional problems of their own was the thing that makes me intrigued. It seems like it's only going to get better. Will stick with it. :)
I have found I enjoy lots of shows critics talk crap on, but then again I don't mind shows being over the top and unrealistic, something that some people treat as some kind of sin, lol.
I haven't seen this but based on these comments I'm going to watch it tonight.
me kelly hearing other people tell me they can make big @ma0unt on net so I decided to l00k int0 it. Well, it was @ll true @nd has t0tally changed my life-------------- http://➽.ws/WORLD
Question....................WHAT THE #3LL WERE THE CRITICS TALKING ABOUT (No Spoilers)? I was thrilled to see Maggie Q (she who will always be Nikita for me) and Dylan McDermott (AHS' Bloody Face) on screen again. This pilot was one part "When a Stranger Calls Back" (phenomenal TV Movie with a shocking twist) and one part Dean Koontz novel.................ever read "INTENSITY"? With the Bridge finale tonight "Stalker" has got me still looking forward to Wednesday nights! 4 TO MUCH ATTENTION IN THE WORSE KIND OF WAY, this is why I am Nobody
very good start to the show.... a little rough around the edges as this was show set up and character introduction and Beth came off a bit too stiff and Jack too cocky, but of course they will both loosen up and smooth out and were already beginning to by the end of the ep.... the cotw was pretty good and I guess Beth confronting the college stalker was setting up a little arc, but I hope that this doesn't turn out to be her mythology arc for the season as even though the guy was very creepy, I'd like Beth to be facing off with a genius stalker if she were to be dealing with one... in any event, I think she will unleash her inner Nikita on him and he will be in a world of hurt... Jack's creeping on the lady and his son needs to be addressed sooner than later, as I'd hate for his character to stay in this mode for a long time. really enjoyed it and will keep sampling, but it's looking like this show will make my regular watching schedule
If critics hate a show it normally means it's good lol. What makes them so frigging qualified to tell us what's good....anyway great show pilot & will definatley watch next week:)
I thought this was a really solid and very interesting show! I can't wait to see where they go with it and what other kinds of stalking they cover! Well done, Kevin Williamson! :D
Very good start to the series. Really enjoyed it. Don't know why the critics didn't like it. Great characters and the stories were interesting. I'm definitely going to continue to watch this show. Can't wait till next week.
Don't understand why every critics hate this one. This was much better than Scorpion. The leads are great actors and the scenes are really scary. The college boy stalker was so creepy. I am looking forward to next episode.
So the stalker team has one stalker and one who is going to be stalked in it? Another one that the "police' has a dysfunctional family. Doesn't a policeman have a family that works? Every police show so far has a problem family - I'm so over it! I would, for once, love to see a family that works and doesn't need to be a "problem" of divorce, separation, death or dysfunction. My parents have been married 57 years and while their kids have divorces in their lives we still all get along very well. No one has been murdered, stalked, killed or drowned and we actually like spending time together. Obviously in the scheme of things on TV we are in the minority. In fact we are obviously the only family that does actually like each other without an argument. What does that say for the rest of the world?
Great pilot will be watching this I like both leads from all thier shows before. So that's a plus.
But yea the creepyness was good in this one. Oh should I sad high or bad. But in a good way.
Jack and Beth were both great I don't mind overkill skilled people so for me there great. I'm sure once Jack really starts changing his situation with his baby mama will be better but then again who knows. Right now im worries about the creepy rich stalker who stalks those who hurt him apparently.
I'm glnna go in expecting the worse for the characters that way I don't feel bad later on if something bad does happen to em.
I LOVED it, I need more shows like this :) I love the horror/thriller aspect that's in most of Kevin Williamson's work. The acting was brilliant as well.
I was going to skip it because I heard its creepy and has a Dexter vibe which I don't find appealing. I love Maggie Q so I thought I should give it a shot, only tuned in for a few minutes and saw Daren Kagasoff who is amazing at emotional scenes. Decided to record it and watch it later and hopefully its not too creepy for me because Maggie Q just makes everything better.
The opening scene was very overdone to me.. Stalking is such a creepy and tension filled issue that they do not need to overdo the drama with silly masks or multiple hidden crawl spaces etc...
Hopefully the dynamic between Davis and Larsen moves past the current too-cute-by-half dialog. Despite actually liking both lead actors I find myself rolling my eyes more than laughing....
The show has an interesting premise, but did not live up to its potential to me. There is so much psychological material to work with, but they flew through the case barely touching on anything. Plus the show seems to concentrate on the stalkers and not the victims very much. The victims of stalking are far more interesting to me. They need help they can rarely get from the police or anyone for that matter.
Overall it just felt like another heavy-handed case of the week to me. I may not be watching many more episodes....
This show is gonna give me nightmares. I'm not a big fan of the Jack Larsen character, some things really bug me about that guy. But I LOVE Maggie Q, so probably gonna keep watching
really liked it. love Maggie Q playing such a different character. and i believe her as the head of the unit. (too frequently they hire actresses way too young for the job) Happily wrong about the bad guy. :-). please please please don't make Jack a salker himself.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
AWESOME!! Maggie Q is badass!!
ReplyDeleteThe scenes is the elevator is freaking creepy. I can't wait for next week, very intrigued by the lead characters. That scene were Beth Davis beats that guy for videotaping his roommate was cool, it's like her old Nikita self is back :)
I liked the pilot.. there is potential for many interesting storylines and characters. I will tune in again next week..
ReplyDeleteI am beyond thrilled to have Maggie back on my screen. I really enjoyed the pilot and can't wait for more eps!
ReplyDeleteIt was really good, IMO the critics were overreacting.
ReplyDeleteThe opening scene was very scary. I liked all the little plot twists. I think the show has some real potential.
ReplyDeleteand now he going to stalker Beth.........and I wonder what going with Jack Larsen character
ReplyDeleteTv.com made me think this would be the most horrible pilot of the season. I'm glad I did the smart thing and ignored them. If I had listened to them, I never would have watched 2 Broke Girls, which they also despise.
ReplyDeleteLoved it!; but will have to DVR next week, bc. AHS takes priority, I'm sure dylan mcdermont understands :)
ReplyDeleteI know beth Davis/Jack Larsen are two main leads.......but we should get some storyline for the other two detective...we know nothing about them
ReplyDeleteI thought it was nothing short of fantastic..

9.25/10 frome me.

ReplyDeleteAwesome Maggie Q is badass I really enjoy the pilot and it's good that they pair it with Criminal Minds

ReplyDeleteThis is why I always say trust your own judgement and not someone else's.
ReplyDeleteYup, I saw many Nikita moments in Beth...which is what everyone wants LOL
ReplyDeleteyup that reviewer needs a Xanax stat it was actually good
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan. Definitely buying what they're selling :)

ReplyDeleteWow...the critics really overreacted on this one. Glad I watched on my own.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was great. My cousin and I watched it together(he's a huge fan of Maggie and Nikita as well) and we thought it was very good.
ReplyDeleteIt was creepy yes but no way was it scary. I also love the dynamic between Beth and Jack.
I can't wait to see more on their back story. Hope the ratings are great tomorrow.
We were so excited for this show that we endured the last 15 minutes of Criminal Minds even though we had no idea what was going on lol.

ReplyDeleteReally liked it and soon after Criminal Minds, perfect combination
ReplyDeleteLoved it !!
ReplyDeleteMaggie Q can do NO wrong.
So what was the better pilot so far this season "Stalker " or "How to Get Away with Murder"?
If critics hate a show it normally means it's good lol. What makes them so frigging qualified to tell us what's good....anyway great show pilot & will definatley watch next week:)

ReplyDeletedidn't like it at all. Agree with the critics on this one.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the pilot and I hope Beth kicks that little prick's ass again.
ReplyDeleteThey do that quite often.
ReplyDeleteGood. I thought it would be much better. But this is only the first episode. I hope it's "awesome" after four episode test.
ReplyDeleteDon't understand why every critics hate this one. This was much better than Scorpion. The leads are great actors and the scenes are really scary. The college boy stalker was so creepy. I am looking forward to next episode.
