Funny comedies like A to Z and Manhattan Love Story cancelled, but total trash like Black-ish is getting great ratings. Sometimes i really wonder why are americans watching bad shows and let go of amazing ones :(
Well technically he can still visit the website, he just can't say anything. Don't ask me why, they didn't give an explanation either time, nor are they required to.
Holly crack! Can't say I'm surprised but the ratings were quite awful. I watched a couple of Bad Judge eps and they really weren't engaging. I hope Kate Walsh ´goes back to drama shows. They suit her better.
I think you took it way too seriously. More people seemed to find it amusing than annoying, and a lot of them liked to play along. I don't see how it was in any way harmful.
Maybe the site was just getting alot of complaints about him from the more casual visitors thinking he was trolling, not realizing he was just having a bit of fun.
I'm bummed about A to Z being cancelled. Can these networks give the new shows a little more time to drawn in an keep a bigger audience before giving it the ax?
I watched the first two episodes of A to Z, the two leads were incredibly charming together, a romantic comedy without that much comedy (the female friend was the only character that supplied the laughs at least for me). 5 episodes aired and the 18-49 ratings were 1.2, 1.0, 1.0, 0.9, and last nights 0.7 and according to most experts 0.7 means a show is going to get cancelled if its on ABC, NBC or Fox.
Damn. The ONLY new comedy I'm watching gets cancelled. And now I'll never know what happens after 8 months 3 weeks, 5 days and 1 hour. At least they are airing the remaining episodes.
I'm very surprised Selfie has hung on this long with the ratings being what they are. I've kept up with it but it is an extremely uneven show that has just as many cringe-inducing moments as genuine laughs.
I hated the promos, but decided to give the full pilot a chance... My mistake. Just as bad as I expected. More eye-rolls and cringes than even small smirks of humor... I agree.
I got the idea of what they were trying to do, but I have absolutely no idea why they wanted to do it!! xD
I am sad to say that I don't see that happening for her on TV at least. NBC grabbed her for A to Z because she the the "next big thing" after HIMYM, but now there won't be any buzz surrounding her when pilot season arrives.
and 2 more treats for the C-Bear's Halloween bag o' tricks... didn't watch Bad Judge but caught the AZ pilot and it wasn't my cup of tea, but saw how it could appeal to some but I guess it wasn't enough
Well the people that like it can always go play along over at TVBTN. I think it's good to have a place like this where that kind of behaviour doesn't fit. Don't get me wrong, I've joked with the cancellation bear over at TVBTN, but I like to have this place here where there isn't that mocking activity.
I'm not surprised about Bad Judge (it was kind of doomed but I was still going to enjoy it while it was on), but I really did enjoy A to Z. It had a kind of charm to it.
i think that its good that we can voice our opinions without being mocked or being accused of making excuses in this site. after all people come on these ratings sites to see how their show is doing not to be mocked or put down by other posters. i really think that the admins in the TVBTN really need to start monitoring their comments.
Thanks! There is too much negativity on the Internet and it's too easy to say you're just being funny and having fun - when what you are doing is having fun at someone else's expense. So much better when we're all having fun.
I know. But will they air all of the remaining episodes til the end of the year seeing that the last Thursday is 26th (first day of Christmas). Or wil they air a double series finale on Dec 19?
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
No :( I hope Crisitin Milioti gets another job, she was awesome!
ReplyDeleteDamn it, those were two shows I watched, now with MLS cancelled as well I'm down three shows to watch. :(
ReplyDeleteNot surprised. Ratings were poor. And I didn't find either pilot very funny.
ReplyDeleteSad that it didn't work out for Cristin Milioti.
ReplyDeleteI was watching bad judge out of pure boredom, i guess apart me kind of liked it..
ReplyDeleteNot surprising. I'm disappointed about A to Z just because I like the leads so much, but hopefully they'll both find something else awesome to be in.
ReplyDeleteFunny comedies like A to Z and Manhattan Love Story cancelled, but total trash like Black-ish is getting great ratings. Sometimes i really wonder why are americans watching bad shows and let go of amazing ones :(
ReplyDeleteTheCancellationBear would have something to say, but Spoilertv decided to ban him. Again.
ReplyDeleteHe got banned? Seriously?
ReplyDeleteTwice. The first time was with his account CancellationBear, the second time was with TheCancellationBear.
ReplyDeleteSo they canceled TheCancellationBear? Oh, the irony.
ReplyDeleteWell technically he can still visit the website, he just can't say anything. Don't ask me why, they didn't give an explanation either time, nor are they required to.
ReplyDeleteHolly crack! Can't say I'm surprised but the ratings were quite awful. I watched a couple of Bad Judge eps and they really weren't engaging. I hope Kate Walsh ´goes back to drama shows. They suit her better.
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame I quite liked that whole role playing thing he had going on.
ReplyDeleteSo did I. I gave him the idea. I had no idea that Spoilertv would find it less amusing than others and ban him.
ReplyDeleteFirs of all we don't allow people to have multiple accounts.
ReplyDeleteSecondly an account mocking shows when they are cancelled are against the philosophy of this site.
We don't want people mocking fans of shows when they are cancelled, no matter if it's in jest.
They can still replace with Community.
ReplyDeleteOh wait
Both at once wow
ReplyDeleteI think you took it way too seriously. More people seemed to find it amusing than annoying, and a lot of them liked to play along. I don't see how it was in any way harmful.
ReplyDeleteWell said.
ReplyDeleteCalled these two, but hat's no big accomplish since both were TERRIBLE!
ReplyDeleteOh Selfie... are you next?
Maybe the site was just getting alot of complaints about him from the more casual visitors thinking he was trolling, not realizing he was just having a bit of fun.
ReplyDeleteWell done. No need for accounts like that here. That's why I left tv by the numbers
ReplyDeleteWell you don't get the emails and complaints that I do.
ReplyDeleteThis was not a surprise decision....both shows were one notes, nothing really happening in either.
ReplyDeleteI could live with that
ReplyDeleteI'm bummed about A to Z being cancelled. Can these networks give the new shows a little more time to drawn in an keep a bigger audience before giving it the ax?
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to see it as mostly negative when the people who liked it have no reason to send you an email in the first place.
ReplyDeleteCongrats. It was a poor attempt at best at "humor". The site is better off without people creating sock-puppet accounts.
ReplyDeleteNice going. He/she didn't know when to draw the line at times.
ReplyDeleteI watched the first two episodes of A to Z, the two leads were incredibly charming together, a romantic comedy without that much comedy (the female friend was the only character that supplied the laughs at least for me). 5 episodes aired and the 18-49 ratings were 1.2, 1.0, 1.0, 0.9, and last nights 0.7 and according to most experts 0.7 means a show is going to get cancelled if its on ABC, NBC or Fox.
ReplyDeleteI looked forward to the Bear's comments so I will miss the humor!
ReplyDeleteThat said, I understand the reasoning for banning him too.
Damn. The ONLY new comedy I'm watching gets cancelled. And now I'll never know what happens after 8 months 3 weeks, 5 days and 1 hour. At least they are airing the remaining episodes.
ReplyDeleteI'm very surprised Selfie has hung on this long with the ratings being what they are. I've kept up with it but it is an extremely uneven show that has just as many cringe-inducing moments as genuine laughs.
ReplyDeleteMe too. But I do think this is a case of the vocal minority being just vocal enough to get him banned.
ReplyDeleteYeah thank goodness they aren't pulling the shows immediately like what happened with MLS.
ReplyDeleteI really like Bad Judge see this is why I don't get invest in NBC shows they always cancel before they found their audience
ReplyDeleteA to Z was pretty good, but then again comedy is subjective.
ReplyDeleteI hated the promos, but decided to give the full pilot a chance... My mistake. Just as bad as I expected. More eye-rolls and cringes than even small smirks of humor... I agree.
ReplyDeleteI got the idea of what they were trying to do, but I have absolutely no idea why they wanted to do it!! xD
I didn't find it funny, but I do completely agree about humor being subjective!
ReplyDeleteI generally do not even giggle at most of the comedies people are passionate about on here, and sometimes love the ones they hate! XD
I am sad to say that I don't see that happening for her on TV at least. NBC grabbed her for A to Z because she the the "next big thing" after HIMYM, but now there won't be any buzz surrounding her when pilot season arrives.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the showrunners will make the planned outcome public. Hopefully something better than the crap of the HIMYM finale!
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame, if I was a producer or casting agent I would take her, she was amazing as was Ben Feldman in A to Z. I really liked her :(
ReplyDeleteMaybe so...
ReplyDeleteI guess to me what it comes down to is it's not my site so I can't complain very much! XD
I make the choice to come here for the things I do appreciate.. the things I don't I just ignore for the most part.
and 2 more treats for the C-Bear's Halloween bag o' tricks... didn't watch Bad Judge but caught the AZ pilot and it wasn't my cup of tea, but saw how it could appeal to some but I guess it wasn't enough
ReplyDeleteIf only more people had that mindset, there would be less people complaining on the internet.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least they are showing the remaining episodes. I'm sort-of gonna miss Bad Judge.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately most people seem to love to complain about every little thing they don't like.
ReplyDeleteIf only! XD
ReplyDeleteI like complaints that are constructive I guess, but the vitriol and sheer hate in some anonymous online comments makes my head spin!
NOT this site so much, just speaking generally.....
Well the people that like it can always go play along over at TVBTN. I think it's good to have a place like this where that kind of behaviour doesn't fit. ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised about Bad Judge (it was kind of doomed but I was still going to enjoy it while it was on), but I really did enjoy A to Z. It had a kind of charm to it.
ReplyDeleteSpoilertv's bear and TVBTN's bear aren't the same person, in case there's some confusion about that.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised, but I thought Bad Judge would have lasted a little longer.
ReplyDeleteI loved A to Z, I wonder if they're going to air the episodes already filmed.
ReplyDeleteDid you read the very first line in the post ? :))
ReplyDeleteYes, both A to Z and Bad Judge will air their initial 13 episodes before being pulled.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I just read the headline. I was too quick to post. Thanks for pointing it out.
ReplyDeleteNo problem :)
ReplyDeleteGood. I've been coming here for over 7 years and I found him to be a condescending ass.
ReplyDeleteDamn I really liked the whole concept and set up of A to Z too
ReplyDeleteI liked both shows sad to see them go.
ReplyDeletei think that its good that we can voice our opinions without being mocked or being accused of making excuses in this site. after all people come on these ratings sites to see how their show is doing not to be mocked or put down by other posters. i really think that the admins in the TVBTN really need to start monitoring their comments.
ReplyDeleteAww, I was feeling like checking out A to Z, now it'll be A to M :(. They'll air 13 episodes, right?
ReplyDeleteYes
ReplyDeleteDamn it. I like both of these. Anybody know how many episodes are left for each?
ReplyDeleteThanks! There is too much negativity on the Internet and it's too easy to say you're just being funny and having fun - when what you are doing is having fun at someone else's expense. So much better when we're all having fun.
ReplyDeleteShame about A-Z it wasn't amazing or anything but had potential.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more with Aydrian. There was not a "behaviour" or mocking or being disrespectful to fans. It was just fun.
ReplyDeleteWe shouldn't give in everytime a butthurt person complains about something.
Not if they actually want decent ratings, but this NBC we're talking about so Parks and Community will likely replace.
ReplyDeleteWill they air the remaining 8 episodes til the end this year?
ReplyDeleteAll the episodes will air.
ReplyDeleteIf A to Z's parent studio, Warner Brothers, goes on the aggressive, maybe they could pull a Sony TV and have it moved elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteHowever, the odds of that happening is slim to none so we can only hope for the best.
I know. But will they air all of the remaining episodes til the end of the year seeing that the last Thursday is 26th (first day of Christmas). Or wil they air a double series finale on Dec 19?
ReplyDeleteAre these airdates correct? http://www.thefutoncritic.com/devwatch/a-to-z/listings/
ReplyDeleteThe official schedule is here http://stvplus.com/show/466/A-to-Z#episodes
ReplyDeleteIf NBC announce any changes then we will update.
I Know, Cristin Milioti And Ben Feldman's Chemistry Was Amazing.
ReplyDeleteGuessed them both from the start!
ReplyDeletetotally agreed.
ReplyDeleteThere was nothing going on in either show. There is only sooo much navel gazing one can do, and show to other people.
The Bailiff character was hilarious. He is quite the comic. Spike Lee has done a few online movies of him.
ReplyDeleteSo it's only been the 3 comedies so far?
ReplyDeleteStupid people, they don´t know what´s good!!!
ReplyDeleteNever has a show been renewed or cancelled based on quality. Always based on the money it makes.
ReplyDeleteBad Judge was forgettable, but I really liked A to Z. I love both Cristin and Ben.
ReplyDelete
