“We start off the third season…it was always the idea of the producers that..you know how in James Bond movies they start off with a big action sequence that isn’t directly tied into the plot of that particular movie? It’s just to establish that we are watching an action film, and it’s James Bond and he does James Bond stuff,” said Amell. “We start off the third season with a gigantic action set piece. You’ve seen pieces of it in the preview for Season 3, and it is myself, Diggle, Roy, and his whole costume. And then of course Felicity at the helm. And it’s just all of us kicking ass. And it’s good.”
Then, Amell added, “And I will tell you that, I’ve got one for you, in the premiere of Arrow, me, dressed in a suit as Oliver Queen beats up the Arrow. What? It will make sense when you see it.”

ReplyDeleteSounds good!!!! So many teases so many stories, I need for it to happen soon.
ReplyDeleteoohhh... So Oliver under the new Vertigo influence will hallucinate fighting Arrow. Cool... Is this his reason for breaking up with Felicity. He finds both versions of him to be a killing machine?
ReplyDeleteNo. the Count is dead. no more vertigo. It's gonna be a his dream that he is more than the Arrow. He can be himself and have a normal life. Too bad it won't be for long
ReplyDeletethey cast a new Count Vertigo played by Peter Stromae.
ReplyDeletereally. I must have missed that news. my bad
ReplyDeleteit was one of the first casting news. And he is seen in the promo.
ReplyDeletelol. you know what, I must have mistaken him for Oliver's Russian pal. lol. oops
ReplyDeleteI know too much spoilers and casting news *hangs head in shame*
ReplyDeleteYou are certainly not alone, haha. Some of us spend way more time on this site than can be considered healthy for people who are supposed to have a life.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting my submissions. :)
ReplyDeleteI never used to be like that over show. And i am really excited for the DVD since we get that deleted scene between Sara & Felicity.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I hate that they deleted that scene. :/ We could use more friendships between women on this show, and the precious few Sara/Felicity moments we did get last season were nice.
ReplyDeleteyeah apparently they also cut a Laurel/Thea scene. For me they were too high on the DC easter eggs to actually focus on the characters. And the female friendships were often left aside. But we did get Isabel hating Felicity for no reason. While it was fun to watch Felicity hiting Isabel in her Ravagers costume with a van. The reasoning behind Isabels hate was bullshit.
ReplyDeleteFrom your mouth to Guggenheim and co.'s ear... ODA and I have repeatedly agreed that there were too many DC characters, teams/organizations and easter eggs in the second half of S2 to focus properly on the main characters. Supporting players got the attention while characters like Diggle or Thea had no storyline. I hope they do a better job next years.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the female characters' relationships with each other, I just hope that by no longer hooking Oliver up with so many women, they also put an end to the jealousy and romantic competition crap. (I agree that Isabel wanting Felicity dead was completely stupid - why would she give a rat's ass if Oliver is into Felicity anyway, considering she never felt anything for him and only slept with the guy to get him to lower his guard around her? There was no need for her to even say that line, beyond the comedic purpose of having Felicity hit her with the van just as she's talking about how she's gonna kill her.) Which is why, even though I don't ship Olicity, I'd like them to have a stable relationship insofar as it puts an end to the love triangles, melodrama and resultant damage to the female characters.
Thanks for sending them in :)
ReplyDeleteExactly.
ReplyDeleteFor this and for the High Speed Chase promo released by The CW, I'm 100% sure this "New Vertigo" is somehow like Batman's Scarecrow.
ReplyDeleteThey just couldn't/wouldn't use him so they re-invented Vertigo.
In one of Stephen's SDCC interviews (on YouTube), he said something like, 'Oliver literally sees a version of himself that scares the shit out of him' in the premiere. That sounds like it could be a reference to the scene where Oliver beats up the Arrow.
ReplyDeleteI also hope that this doesn't affect Oliver's relationship with Felicity but it does seem like a very in-character thing for him to do. I'm not entirely convinced that there is a breakup, though. They have been good at teasing Oliver & Felicity in the premiere and hinting that their date doesn't go well, but we don't really know anything about the two of them in subsequent episodes. (Kind of like how they teased Seeing Red as a big Roy episode without hinting at anything Moira-related.) They have teased that Felicity is the only woman in Oliver's life this season and Ray is a love interest for Felicity but that haven't told us much about Felicity's relationship with either man past the premiere. They have been good at distracting us with photos of kisses and apartments and babies, though!
Could be misdirect as you say but they didn't they say Oliver/Felicity relationship will go on hold after a raw discussion in episode 1? I will have to check the spoilers again. I think SA said the ep 206 dialogue "I cannot be with someone I care abt" will still be in effect or something like that. I have seen so many interviews and cons since SDCC I am confused now.
ReplyDeleteHahaha i loved this panel!! Just watched it 2 hrs ago. And THAT what he said was a real head scratcher, i'm totally thinking about that.
ReplyDeleteOliver fighting the Arrow is like the Clark v. Superman scene in Superman 3.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they break up. They go out on a date and Felicity gets hurt making Oliver realize that he can't have a normal public life as Oliver meaning he can't go to restaurants with Felicity or any one he loves.
