The Messengers - Navid Negahban and Lauren Bowles join cast

Homeland alum Navid Negahban and True Blood's Lauren Bowles have booked recurring roles on the midseason series from writer/co-EP Eoghan O'Donnell (Teen Wolf), The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Bowles, who has played Holly on the HBO vampire drama for the past four years, will portray Sen. Cindy Richards, a hard-working, passionate politician driven by a painful personal past. When she crosses paths with the so-called Messengers, she's not only in the midst of a reelection campaign, but also on the verge of making choices that may have a long-lasting impact far beyond the Beltway.

Negahban, who played terrorist Abu Nazir on the Showtime drama, is set to play a Middle Eastern prime minister whose responsibility of keeping peace in his volatile country weighs heavily on him, and may force him to make some very unpopular decisions.

  6. Me too. But it may be a blessing in disguise ratings wise as I think there is a chance it could get Arrow or Flash lead-in by only airing at midseason, which would be better for the show than W18-34 heavy The Originals.

  7. If The CW promotes The Messengers as much as they promoted The 100 I am perfectly okay with it.
