TVLine has learned that the actor (and real-life cousin of Arrow star Stephen Amell) has been cast in the recurring role of Ronnie Raymond, the fiance of S.T.A.R. Labs scientist Caitlin Snow (played by Danielle Panabaker).
Oh, and Ronnie is also one-half of the DC Comics character Firestorm – creating a tremendous bit of irony, considering Caitlin’s own (possible) destiny. In his Flash incarnation, S.T.A.R. Labs maintenance worker Ronnie plays an integral part in the particle accelerator accident that transforms Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) into the titular speedster.
“[DC Comics Chief Creative Officer] Geoff Johns, Andrew Kreisberg and myself designed the pilot and series to include Ronnie (aka Firestorm) — and to actually have someone with Robbie’s talent playing the role is beyond exciting,” EP Greg Berlanti said in a statement. “We can’t wait for viewers and fans of the character to check it out.”

So looks like her fiance didn't die after all.
ReplyDeleteBe nice to see Robbie again :)
ReplyDeleteinteresting news... sounds like DC is really ramping up the supes here... I wonder who they might cast to be the other half of Firestorm as if I recall, he is the result of a fusion of two individuals or something like that....
ReplyDeleteAwesome News!!!
ReplyDeleteWas pretty sure they would cast Robbie on Arrow but the spin-off is even better!
ReplyDeleteBombshell! Nice call! Even though I wanted Robbie to play he Red Ranger in the Reboot movie.
ReplyDeleteThis makes me looking more forward to the Flash , but didn't the fance appear in he Pilot. Guess they will reshoot that 1 scene.
No, he didn't.
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic! And Firestorm being Caitlin's fiance? Considering Killer Frost is a main Firestorm villain? Count me in as totally digging this!!
ReplyDeleteWell the press release merely states that she "lost" her fiancé.
ReplyDeleteShe says differently in the pilot.
ReplyDeleteMy mistake, thought Caitlin shared a scene with her Fiancee.
ReplyDeleteGood for him but he doesn't have stephen's acting genes IMO.Still excited for the flash's premiere. Now just cast luke mitchell in a meaty role and all my wish will come true.
ReplyDeleteVery true indeed!
ReplyDeleteHuh...could they be working towards the Justice League of America. They're entirely separate from the main Justice League and were formed by Amanda Waller.
ReplyDeleteFounding members of the New 52 version include Green Arrow, Katana (introduced in season 3), and Vibe (Ramon is introduced in The Flash). A different person (a girl) using the name of 'The Atom' also joined them soon after. Firestorm also played an important role but never joined them officially. Adding in Barry they have enough people for a crossover team up episode.
Didn't Caitlin said in the pilot episode that her fiance died in the explosion?
ReplyDeleteThis scene happened when she was talking to Berry, when they were testing his speed.
If I'm not mistaken, she also needs him to survive (his heat? Energy? Something like that) which makes it even more interesting.
ReplyDeleteWell, this should be interesting, considering Caitlin's possible destiny and how she might need his powers to survive. I thought he was dead- isn't that what Caitlin said? Is she mistaken? I haven't seen Robbie in anything, so I'm not sure if he's a decent actor or not.
ReplyDeleteThats great, good role for him. Hopefully he stays on the show for more episodes.
ReplyDeleteI don't care if he's dead or alive as long as this means more Caitlin Snow.
ReplyDeleteYes, she did. It looks like she only thinks he's dead.
ReplyDeleteNot Every Has Seen The Pilot.
ReplyDeleteI never saw TTP (only promos) so I can't judge his acting. But I love this character in the comics so it's a nice addition.
ReplyDeleteIf you know something about the character then you can guess why Caitlin thinks Robbie is dead. They probably never found his body.
I wonder if the other part of Firestorm is going to be Jason Rusch or Martin Stein. I would prefer Martin Stein because the dynamic would be more interesting with someone older.
Ah, the CW keeping it in the family per usual. 10 bucks says someone else from TTP ends up in a CW show or pilot.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving it. Been going crazy with this news all day. I swear we're getting spoiled and i love every minute of it.
ReplyDeleteWe could see flashback scenes of Ronnie alive and well pre-particle accelerator explosion and then he may show up in present day as Firestorm. To the viewer and to Caitlin, I think it would be safe to say that Ronnie indeed "died" at least until Firestorm shows up.
ReplyDeleteFunny little tidbit. The first Killer Frost, Crystal Frost, had a thing for Martin Stein who was one-half of the first Firestorm. Cailtin Snow's fiancé being Ronnie Raymond is pretty cool because there is still that Killer Frost/Firestorm connection going on(and I presume Firestorm will be one singular person in this adaptation).
ReplyDeleteI knew we would eventually see him on another CW show, they like to keep their actors 'in the family'. Love that it's on the Flash, I could see him fit in perfectly. Also, Stephen and Robbie Amell sharing the screen would also be pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteactually she said her fiance died. it might be a simple plot twist for her character to find out he is still alive, its an often used plot point.
ReplyDeletesounds like a really cool superhero and love that robbie is on the flash, was hoping he'd be batman on arrow but it's cool that he's on the spin-off, god i miss the tomorrow people, at least stephen and cara ended up together
ReplyDeleteso i guess no barry and catlin ship dang it lol
ReplyDeleteExcellent news! Now I just need Luke Mitchell back on my TV every week and I'm set!
ReplyDeleteawful news
ReplyDeleteSee? I told you about the magic of July ;)
ReplyDeleteCW never stops shoving bad down our thoats.
ReplyDeleteRobbie Amell, Britt Robertson, Matt Davis, the entire 90210 cast.
Robbie posted this photo on his facebook page, it's so cute how close they are.
