I thought the skeletor others popping out of the ground and fighting Bran's crew looked pretty badass. I usually don't like their scenes either so it was a breath of fresh air to finally like one. It was pretty creepy that one sick kid always knew he was going to die helping Bran to the tree too. I'm glad the child of the forest girl set his body on fire so he doesn't get stuck getting turned into a zombie/other thing.
A lot of great ones at the end, but I'll stick with Brienne and The Hound. Especially if you throw in Arya staring at him afterwards and then just walking away after taking the money.
i just wish that he would have said the line he says in the books about his father. anyone who has read the books knows it was hilarious, and its a typical tyrion line.
Only thing I would've liked to have geared is Tysha. But anyway, I loved the escape and Peter Dinklage the sold the desperate, heartbroken, almost crazy feelings Tyrion has been feeling. Now he's on the run and cersei is going to be MAD! Two arch enemies down one more to go.
I am going to choose the epilogue. While everything that happened beforehand shouldn't have happened, it was nice to see Arya getting some good luck for a change. From what I recall it was pretty much according to the books. The wall was her first choice, for that I am pleased.
I would've voted for Tyrior, or the North, and Jon meeting with Mance. No Tysha, Tormund, Val and Dalla, so no deal.
Stannis's arrival was pretty good though. Something bothered me however. I can't quite quite describe it. Fine, I confess. I am a book purist when it comes to the North. Anything else I don't care, but when it happens to the exciting stuff that take place in the North, it does piss me off.
oh, flashback! Mellisandre meeting eyes with Jon, was pretty neat. Kinda reminds me of '' I pray for a glimpse of azor ahai, and R'hllor shows me only Snow''... I'll go with this one as well.
Wow. Tyrion's time was little but powerful. I loved his moment with Jaime and his encounters with Shae and Tywin were absolutely fabulous. I'm still laughing thinking about him coming across his father on the chamber pot! I also enjoyed the fight between Brienne and the Hound.
I meant it should be its own option. Especially since the scene has been building every season since the second season finale through Arya's character development of becoming more mature and independent and realizing "hey this world we live in is a shitty, cruel unforgiving world where you have to be strong to survive." It just seems incredibly insulting to Arya's character and that plot point to be considered an other, due to the gravity of the scene of Arya leaving Westeros to begin her new life in Essos for her character, as she's finally taking complete control of her life. That is what I meant.
I was torn between the killing of Tywin and Shae and the fight between Brienne and the Hound. Both were highly dramatic and satisfying scenes. Actually, the whole episode was great. And the scene with Bran and the struggle to get to the tree and that whole set of images was quite remarkable too.
That guy on the horse, riding by and taking out the wildling going after Stannis and Davos. That straight up effing killed me. I LOL'd so hard, I had to pause the damn episode.
Technically, it wasn't a line he said. It was a thought. I wasn't surprised it didn't make it in, unless he actually said it to someone, it couldn't have made it into the series. The only person he saw after the fact was Varys and Tyrion was wrecked after the whole Shae deal. He was in level 10 brood mode.
I had hoped for a little more of Lord Varys, but I enjoyed the little bit that we got. Ofcourse Tyrions scenes were as brilliant as ever. I loved that he killed Tywin, but will miss their interaction.
I might be the only one, but I really enjoyed Jon and Mances conversation. I love Mances character and I felt like it Jon was the same Jon as in the books.
Brienne, the Hound, Arya, Pot.....need I say more....awesome combo! Brienne and the Hounds fight were better than most of the other fights in the series, because I didn´t want neither one to die, I am very glad that Brienne got out of it unhurt.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Tyrion killing Tywin and Shae FTW
ReplyDeleteLove any scene with The Hound and Arya.

ReplyDeleteObviously Tyrion or The Hound should win... but not a single option with Bran?! ...and the episode name is based off that scene, lol.
ReplyDeleteSo many good scenes, my picks: Brienne and the Hound fighting, Dany with her dragons (so sad) and Tyrion and Jaime saying goodbye.
ReplyDeleteTyrion releases his pent-up anger
ReplyDeleteAll the Tyrion stuff!
ReplyDeletei just wish that he would have said the line he says in the books about his father. anyone who has read the books knows it was hilarious, and its a typical tyrion line.
ReplyDeleteI was so, so close to having Valar Morghulis as the last scene on the poll! So happy you've added it here!
ReplyDeleteAnother scene that made my loooong list and just missed the short list - so thank you for making sure that it is here!
ReplyDeleteSee above - it made the long list, but I try to leave something for you all to add too! And here you have! Thanks!
ReplyDeletePlease share - unless it's a terrible spoiler!

ReplyDeleteTywin in, did not **** gold
ReplyDeleteLord Tywin Lannister did not, in the end, shit gold.
ReplyDelete1. Tyrion killing Shae (take that b**ch) and Tywin.
ReplyDelete2. Arya refusing to kill the Hound. Taking his money and leaving.
3. Bran's crew fighting the skeletons at the tree.
4. The entrance Stannis and his cavalry made.
5. Brienne and the Hound's fight.
6. Daenerys chaining the dragons.
Tyrion killing Shae and Tywin.
ReplyDeleteskeletons vs Bran and team fight
Arya and Brienne's chat.
ReplyDeleteA game-changer for a lot of characters, to be sure.

ReplyDeleteValar Morghuilis should be here.
ReplyDeleteHadda be Brienne and the Hound! Awesome scene!
ReplyDeleteNow it is. It's called "other". . . .
ReplyDeleteNot what I meant.
ReplyDeleteFeel free to elucidate what you did mean....
ReplyDeleteI meant it should be its own option. ReplyDeleteIncredibly insulting? Seriously? It's a subjective opinion poll.
ReplyDeleteOf course, but still it's the ending scene for season 4, and a plot-wise it's still important for Arya's character.
ReplyDeleteI am a book purist, so some of the changes bothered me... however Tyrion and Tywin? Awesome.
ReplyDeleteI was torn between the killing of Tywin and Shae and the fight between Brienne and the Hound. Both were highly dramatic and satisfying scenes. Actually, the whole episode was great. And the scene with Bran and the struggle to get to the tree and that whole set of images was quite remarkable too.
ReplyDeleteOh! Thanks! Yep. That would have been perfect....
ReplyDeleteWe are asked to limit the number of scenes that we include. That scene was on the long list - so I thank you for adding it here.
ReplyDeleteMakes sense.
ReplyDeleteThat guy on the horse, riding by and taking out the wildling going after Stannis and Davos. That straight up effing killed me. I LOL'd so hard, I had to pause the damn episode.

Has to be the Skeleton Zombies. That was some straight up Golden Axe shizz. Loved it!
