Oh yes...such a good year. Hah!

    ReplyDelete
  3. I'm gutted. This season has been improving in my opinion. Although as the silver lining, perhaps this means Kripke and Edlund can come back to Supernatural. Please. I mean I will do anything.

Yay. Finally I'm able to stop watching now.

You feel gutted? Revolution just got attacked by a BEAR.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Too bad, loved David Lyons.

NBC killed Revolution! Hate you NBC!

Saw it coming, but still sad :(.
Hoping netflix or something else picks it up.

It was execpted but I was hoping it wasn't going to be true I love this show it will be true

    ReplyDelete
  12. I will find you. I could use a new rug.

    ReplyDelete
  13. The reign of JJ Abrams seems to be fizzling out. Maybe "The Robot" needs some new blood to reinvent it.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Pablo Troncoso9 May 2014 at 19:08

It's sad that, in a season that was a turn around for the better, fixing almost every single problem with S1 the show finds itself cancelled

  15. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Sad to see it go but I knew this could happen. I just hope David Lyons finds work in another tv show.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Wait, TV Guide says it has been renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Bradley Adams9 May 2014 at 19:09

Person of Interest is doing well.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Didn't Abrams' extent of involvement pretty much begin and end with him deciding he liked the idea and getting it on the air? Kinda like Believe.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Bradley Adams9 May 2014 at 19:10

I trust Matt Mitovich more than TV Guide.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think it had more to do with Kripke and the other writers than it had to do with J.J..

    ReplyDelete
  23. Pablo Troncoso9 May 2014 at 19:12

    Please, let it be true!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Brandonrowe149 May 2014 at 19:12

Not that this isn't expected, but I'm not seeing a confirmation anywhere else, but that tweet. I'm sure it's going to happen, but...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Abrams owns Bad Robot the production company behind Revolution, Believe, Almost Human, etc...

As far as creative input he does have ultimate control, but is for the most part hands off after the pilots. But by proxy of his ownership of The Robot, he is King, and this will reflect on him.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Definitely saw that one coming, not sure whether it's worth catching up with season 2 now.

    ReplyDelete
  27. S2 is very good.

    ReplyDelete
  28. This is the one I was waiting on. Disappointing.

    ReplyDelete
  29. showing as cancelleed there to me

    ReplyDelete
  30. I agree, but see my other reply below. The buck has to stop with someone.

    ReplyDelete
  31. EuphemiaWonderland9 May 2014 at 19:13

The first half of S2 is really good. When Connor shows up stop watching.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Babar have you deleted your account?! It said this was your comment earlier and now it says guest? Hope you haven't deleted. I liked your input into stuff :(

    ReplyDelete
  33. willofinterest9 May 2014 at 19:14

How is that an official statement at all?

    ReplyDelete
  34. I didn't delete my account, just that comment.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yep,he always keeps his hands and presences known. It will definitely reflect on Bad Robot as well.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm at the part where Aaron had a nanite dream episode, how long until it gets bad?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yep, and I guess I need to start catching up on it.

Don't get me wrong though I love Bad robot, and will continue to sample everything it feeds me, but sometimes even a good cook, can serve some slop. Plus I don't like everything in the pantry all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Okay, I am surprised that there aren't more tweets about this on my feed. Joe Adalian, Cynthia Littleton etc have been quiet about this one.

    ReplyDelete
  39. You stopped then,gah!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Have not seen an episode since march break, was saving up till finale.... probably wont bother now. As Jack Baeur would say DAMMIT!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Bradley Adams9 May 2014 at 19:18

To be fair, the writing for Revolution was terrible imo. Not really down to Abrams if that happens.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Maybe I'll give it a go though. I love Bass, always wanted more of him in season 1.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Still surprised you missed this one last year Mr or Mrs. Bear!

    ReplyDelete
  44. CancellationBear9 May 2014 at 19:20

Well I just ate it so they'll have to wait a while.

  47. CancellationBear9 May 2014 at 19:21

I was too busy hunting other shows down like Nikita and Warehouse 13. Only managed to wound them though. Got them down to a shortened final season.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Drats, but I knew it was distinct possibility. At least Hannibal softens the blow for me.
I'll really miss it, but maybe in the next couple of years Abrams/Bad Robot will introduce something else I will really love that will be more successful.

    ReplyDelete
  49. CancellationBear9 May 2014 at 19:22

    Aww hell no!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Pablo Troncoso9 May 2014 at 19:22

I hope this is real. And if it is, I hope it means the show will be renewed and not actually cancelled, or at least moved to somewhere else

    ReplyDelete
  51. Oh! Thanks Babar!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Ah!!! A morsel possibly stolen from your mouth. How does that make you feel? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  53. Bradley Adams9 May 2014 at 19:23

Couldn't you have eaten something other than Nikita last year?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Looks like I don't have to mount you on my wall yet little cub.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Pablo Troncoso9 May 2014 at 19:23

It seems they are pulling Revolution out of your stomach, no decision yet as it seems :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. CancellationBear9 May 2014 at 19:23

They probably won't like what they find.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Just like HIMYD yesterday...

    ReplyDelete
  58. I agree. I tried my damndest to watch Revolution, I wanted to like it, but I never could get past some of the the things that just felt unrealistic about it. I know it was technically a fantasy adventure show, but some of the suspension of disbelief it took to follow the plotlines was laughable to me.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Pablo Troncoso9 May 2014 at 19:24

At least there is hope... I guess

    ReplyDelete
  60. CancellationBear9 May 2014 at 19:24

Enraged! Take this away from me and I'm heading straight for Community!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Billy Burke must have gotten the wrong message too for he is thanking the fans..

    ReplyDelete
  62. Pablo Troncoso9 May 2014 at 19:25

You stay away from Community, you bastard! Go hunt The Crazy Ones instead!

    ReplyDelete
  63. But it will definitely be mangled. ;) :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. EuphemiaWonderland9 May 2014 at 19:25

He is great in S2. David Lyons really gets to shine in the first half of S2.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Now we don't know lol.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Revolution had a good thing going, but it got stuck again in the middle of the season and really didn't come to head till now with two eps to go.

Personally just talking to other fans and from reading interviews I think Krikpe wanted it be one thing and Bad Robot another and it felt like it's been fighting itself between the rough below-the-belt [mis]adventure story and the metaphysical family saga....

    ReplyDelete
  67. EuphemiaWonderland9 May 2014 at 19:26

That part was still decent. The last two episodes have been horrible except for one Neville/Charlie scene.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Community has the Cancellation Bear repellant handy. It's a spell and the wordings are #SixSeasonsAndaMovie ;) :)

    ReplyDelete
  69. I could have moved past the terrible acting and sub-par stunts in the pilot if the writing was even average, but you're right, it was just terrible.

Abrams has his own faults, but this one is on Kripke.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I want to know about Parenthood damnit!

    ReplyDelete
  71. So I think NBC leaked the possibility of cancellation first so as to see how the internet reacts to it. Looks like they are dangling this morsel right in front of the Bear's mouth.

    ReplyDelete
  72. CancellationBear9 May 2014 at 19:28

And a little digested. That could probably mean a half season renewal.

    ReplyDelete
  73. All hopes haven't been dashed, now they are saying NBC and WBTV haven't made up their minds yet...

    ReplyDelete
  74. Another thing: Matt Mittowich deleeted his earlier tweet.

    ReplyDelete
  75. CancellationBear9 May 2014 at 19:28

Yes they are! And it's infuriating!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Bradley Adams9 May 2014 at 19:28

If it wasn't for him, season 2 would have been the worst thing to ever exist.

    ReplyDelete
  77. It's stuck in limbo, like Stephen's dad from Tomorrow People. ;) :)

    ReplyDelete
  78. OMG please let it be true that we can have another season of Revolution!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. And now he's pretending that he was joking: https://twitter.com/MattMitovich/status/464834042639044609

    *shakes head*

  80. Pablo Troncoso9 May 2014 at 19:30

I hope we get another season, but we must be ready as Revolution could still be cancelled later

    ReplyDelete
  81. Pablo Troncoso9 May 2014 at 19:30

If he was actually joking, it was a bad joke. If he wasn't, he should be more careful from here onwards

  82. This one by Kate Arthur is still up

    https://twitter.com/KateAurthur/status/464826645660971008

  83. I find it odd that they haven't made a decision either way. They know that the upfronts are next week right?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Shhhhhhh
maybe if we dont say it outloud it wont happen

    ReplyDelete
  85. Pablo Troncoso9 May 2014 at 19:31

Unless they pull a Hannibal on Revolution, but I doubt it

    ReplyDelete
  86. I wonder if NBC has made up their mind but wanted to contact key creative team and cast members first before making it official?
If so I can respect that.

Not the norm in TVland though so I kinda doubt it.....

    ReplyDelete
  87. CancellationBear9 May 2014 at 19:33

    Yeah because that usually works.

    ReplyDelete
  88. cancellation bear you are just so funny:) i have read your other comments here and on other post and it wouldnt surprise me if you happend to be a real bear :P sure you dont want to be a stand up comedian instead of eating tv shows ;)

    ReplyDelete
  89. NBC has cancelled Community :(

    ReplyDelete
  90. My heart just stopped beating when I read the news!! (not because I was surprised, but because it finally felt so real) - And then I somehow got it beating again, and went back here to find some comfort in other fans. And then I read it might not be true!! :O Here's to hoping again! :)

    ReplyDelete
  91. Well ,shit. It's gone. Community is canned. @CancellationBear Are you happy now? Enough of this massacre.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Was Hannibal a late renewal last year? I didn't know that thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  93. you already canceled some of my favorite shows, dont try to go after revolution. Im beggin you

    ReplyDelete
  94. Pablo Troncoso9 May 2014 at 19:36

    Where did you get that?!

    ReplyDelete
  95. Science Advisor9 May 2014 at 19:36

It was cancelled when NBC enforced a second hiatus that close to the season finale. If that was to give it better ratings, NBC would have made the hiatus long enough to push it past competition, and filled the space with spackle.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Now it's gone

    ReplyDelete
  97. They sure played a bit of ping pong with the hearts of the people who watched the show.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Nooooooooooooooooooooooo
i think im going to cry

    ReplyDelete
  99. SO WHAT IS IT RENEWED OR NOT?

    ReplyDelete
  100. officialLY CANCELLED

    ReplyDelete
  101. Svetlana Apaeva9 May 2014 at 19:40

NBC was not good enough for Revolution!!!

    ReplyDelete
  102. NBC Sucks. I will never watch another NBC show again. :(

    ReplyDelete
  103. Never watched it. Didn't look that good

    ReplyDelete
  104. Except for the Blacklist

    ReplyDelete
  105. Yes to Westworld!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  106. Bradley Adams9 May 2014 at 19:42

Finally they cancel it. All this 'have they haven't they' crap reminds me of Friends.

    ReplyDelete
  107. From your lips to God's ear!!! If only the world ever worked that well!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Science Advisor9 May 2014 at 19:43

Sander's was probably flipping a coin 100 times and tallying the result. Seems to be how they decide Bubble shows at NBC.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Bradley Adams9 May 2014 at 19:44

After the 17 week midseason hiatus last year, I'm surprised it lasted this long.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Maybe he'll get something else. Of course, if NBC hadn't just screwed them around to make sure the ratings kept plunging and actually cancelled it earlier, he could have gotten on something for next fall...grrrrrrrrr. Definitely the one person I'll be looking for in future projects!

    ReplyDelete
  111. Abrams is really just a figure head for all of these shows. He needs to hire good people and let them do what they do best - and not stick his fingers in the pie - too many cooks in Revolution to my mind.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Really! I'm so freaking bummed now..

    ReplyDelete
  113. CancellationBear9 May 2014 at 19:49

    That repellent sucks.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Science Advisor9 May 2014 at 19:49

I predicted it would be pulled by mid-season second season after they invalidated the end of season one in the first episode of season two. The total genre change, degradation of pace, and cramming in even more plot holes, made season two fail. Too bad for the fans that Kripke is not going to give it a proper ending (based on the trailer for next week) even though he knew what was coming. At least he was a nice guy to the cast though, with all the demo reel material they shot over the last few episodes, most should find it pretty easy getting attached to a new show.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Damn. But kinda saw it coming! :/
    I'll miss the Miles-Monroe banter!

    ReplyDelete
  116. Not surprising but still a downer. The second season was a marked improvement over its first.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Pablo Troncoso9 May 2014 at 19:55

    MONSTER!

    ReplyDelete
  118. They should have pitched to a different network, like ABC or even the CW

    ReplyDelete
  119. NOOOO !!!

    ReplyDelete
  120. I honestly haven't watched it yet. :(

    ReplyDelete
  121. João Paulo9 May 2014 at 20:01

Well NBC sucks always. I hope the show get at least a good series finale.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Toobad. The show was so great this year :(

    ReplyDelete
  123. They do have some really good shows even if they make bad decitions sometimes. Hannibal is brilliant.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Science Advisor9 May 2014 at 20:03

In terms of directing and acting, yes. In every other respect, no. Plot, pacing, plot holes, and a genre change from action to mystery/thriller without any mystery or thrills. Meandering is not a genre. At least we did get to see that most of the cast could act, unlike the first season. Looking forward to seeing most of them in new shows.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Damn! It has been way better than the first season...

    ReplyDelete
  126. Science Advisor9 May 2014 at 20:05

Based on the pilot for the finale, it is not. Probably with a lot of magic from the nanites, and sudden, schizophrenic character alterations to fit the desired outcome. Still hoping against hope that Aron will figure out that fridge magnets kill nanites.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Damn it every other show of mine got renewed and Revolution was the last one i was waiting for news off.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Katarzyna Skop9 May 2014 at 20:18

Sad to hear this, love the show.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Ok , too bad, but can we get Ben Edlund back to SPN now please?

    ReplyDelete
  130. Science Advisor9 May 2014 at 20:22

Poach Lyons while you are at it. I could easily build a SPN spinoff around him alone.

    ReplyDelete
  131. There's nothing wrong with a bit of optimism ;)

    ReplyDelete
  132. Victoria Llanos9 May 2014 at 20:44

    NO! NO! DAMN YOU NBC!
The logical part of me knows that it was coming, it wasn't really a good show, but I liked it...

    ReplyDelete
  133. Aryam Manzueta Avila9 May 2014 at 20:45

Now all my bubble shows have been canceled. I need a drink... or 10 maybe

    ReplyDelete
  134. I would have taken a 13 episode season to wrap things up properly.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Jamie Coudeville9 May 2014 at 20:47

damn, there goes another one of my shows.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Right there with ya!!

    ReplyDelete
  137. Virginia Fontana9 May 2014 at 20:53

Meh. This is the worst cancellation for me this year. So disappointed! :(

    ReplyDelete
  138. Noooooooooooo - but it was expected, still hope dies last.

    ReplyDelete
  140. You know the only problem about being right is that now I have nothing to make fun of next year!

    ReplyDelete
  141. This one hurts the most :(

    ReplyDelete
  142. Well, it was pretty boring to be honest, so I can't say that I'm surprised. It was a good watch, and I am gonna miss Tracy.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Sorry to the fans.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Edlund has been missed. I don't see him coming back but I hope he does.

    ReplyDelete
  145. David Fischer9 May 2014 at 21:22

Edlund back to Supernatural for season 10? He has been missed this season.

    ReplyDelete
  146. This really sucks, I really liked this show, there's been way too many cancellations today. With the way Revolution is going so far, it seems like they might not end the show properly. I just hope it doesn't end in a cliffhanger. I'm going to miss Miles and Monroe and the whole gang, one of the coolest casts on TV!

    ReplyDelete
  147. =(
i really wanted a third season...

    ReplyDelete
  148. They didn't it was going to get cancelled so I think it might end on a cliffhanger.................. :(

    ReplyDelete
  149. This sucks. NBC sucks. They are making a mistake in cancelling such a wonderfun show.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Ikr, this really sucks :( today was just horrible, way to many cancellations.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Bradley Adams9 May 2014 at 21:56

They can't possibly use that excuse. Ratings have been poor for weeks. I've expected the cancellation for about 2-3 months.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Abrams lately has been playing more of a producer, but recant interviews with those he has worked with do site his executive position and he does often give suggestions. In Revolution's case, for instance, Kripke came to Abrams with his pitch, but Abrams sites in an interview before the first season with EW that he thought is sounded too much like "The Stand" so suggested the blackout and nano-tech aspects. This season Kripke also said that the nanites story was "the Bad Robot glaze of the season"...Michael Pitts was previously an assassinate to Abrams during Star Trek (2009), he since has become a story editor and is a consultant and co-writer on some of Revolutions more recant episodes.

I definitely see signatures of both Kripke/Supernatural (dialogue especially with older male characters, references to SNR + themes) and Abrams (Alias, Lost, Fringe + major references to those works Ie: "Home" in parallel "The Truth Takes Time", "Kashmir in parallel "The Passage Pt 2", Lost rifs, several Bad Robot actors make juxtaposed role appearance, Nanites = Smoke Monster + Observers + Fringe "firefly" concept + "Green Mana",, ect), but I think in some ways they were fighting each other in terms of being that metaphysical family saga verses a war torn near satiric misadventure story.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Yeah but who knew.. When I saw that Hannibal had been renewed, I almost thought Revolution would be renewed as well.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Revolution is the only one that I cared about on NBC.
The rest of the shows I watch have been renewed or are waiting to be renewed ( I hope! )

    ReplyDelete
  155. NBC should just give up on any future production. They fail almost every time.

    ReplyDelete
  156. I completely agree, though I do like Parks and Rec and About a Boy, which are safe thankfully, but man, Revolution was so unlike anything on TV, it was one of my new favorite shows.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Well it's not like Revolution was the only thing to go, but poor Believe and Almost Human (which IMO is more Fox's fault). I think that for whatever reason Kripke and Bad Robot were at odds, because so many fans felt pulled between the two different story lines and I think Supernatural fans in particular really hated the nanite story line, which according to Kripke, was the Bad Robot part of it.

    ReplyDelete
  158. I would agree except that I think it's clear that Abrams wants the company to stand for particular things. It's not like Abrams went to Kripke either, it was the other way.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Revolution once was one of my favorites shows but then I don't know, I got bored but I just kept watching and I don't regret it at all, now it's become really intense compared to the first half of season 2!

    ReplyDelete
  160. I felt that battle when I tried watching Season 1.
I hated the writing, the pacing, the family focus (all Kripke), but I liked the conspiracy, mystery and dystopian/ utopian elements (Bad Robot).

I knew from the first handful of episodes that I disliked the pacing and writing and it would likely not change to favor a more slow burning, heavy mythology type of show I like.

Honestly, That was my initial worry with the show as I recall, the Kripke involvement. Sure, it could have been cancelled even if JJ was writer/ producer/ director and Kripke was not involved, but I did not see the two styles working into one cohesive series.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Oh yeah, that's true

    ReplyDelete
  162. If NBC cancels all its shows, it could at least keep Revolution. Or maybe, do a season with 13 episodes to conclude the show.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Samantha Petrelli10 May 2014 at 02:16

oh damn... just when the show got really good.

    ReplyDelete
  164. juni valentine10 May 2014 at 02:25

this is what I thought as well XD

    ReplyDelete
  165. Pity.... on the plus side, can Eric go back to SPN and clean up that mess now please?

    ReplyDelete
  166. I haven't watched it at all since the beginning of S2, I really lost interest after Charlie's brother died and she was being an uber "female dog", I couldn't stand her character anymore and wouldn't watch it. I feel bad for the peeps that liked the show though. :(

    ReplyDelete
  167. That'd be nice. Or maybe they can go to the spin off and help it out because I thought the backdoor pilot looked god awful.

  168. Yay, now I don't have to catch up to it from S01E03 onward. I liked the show a lot, but as I went on I was able to see where it was going to go, and after The brother died, I knew this would not last long, and there you have it. It didn't
sorry for the people who were watching it, I feel you.

I'm pretty sure I read the creator said there were going to be a couple of clifhangers. At least I hope they do something with the nanos in the finale

They did it in like 10 minutes on episode 15, so it's not impossible.

  176. That blows I thought revolution was a great show even though it got turned around into a sci-fi, it was still pretty Interesting, and the story was good. You cant say it wasn't.

  177. Aww, no Nate then. Hopefully his character on TVD will get brought back before the other side crashes for good. Just knowing that he's out there somewhere alive is good for me, even if he rarely guest stars on TVD or TO.

First, it was a SciFi from day one - as per Kripke treatment, script, and PR statements. Secondly, yes we can say the story was not good. It was fine in season one where there was an actual plot, but in season two it was almost procedural in the meandering mess that stumbled from episode to episode with only the thinnest threads to tie them together. The majority of season two was supposed to be the war against the patriots, yet with only one episode left we have had *one* minor skirmish!

The Miles and Monroe from season one could have taken them on buy themselves as insurgent style tactics and done far more damage. You also obviously missed the fact that Charlie's army suddenly disappeared last episode. This season was a total mess and Kripke proved that the success of Supernatural was mostly due to his production team on that show.

They said that back before Kripke was slapped with a second hiatus. If he has any sense, he was re-shooting/editing the last episode. If not, he is going to burn a lot of fans.

  180. Just when I started to really enjoy this...so I guess there willl be a big cliffhanger and no answers? Though, I actually don't care 'bout answers, especially not the sci-fi subplot, the characterdevelopment though...of season 2 that is...but while writing this...I start to realize, I'm pretty relieved it's canned, well...tme to find new shows I guess!

It is pure BS though. Sixteen years without maintenance means there are no functioning power grids on the planet. Besides, as soon as the nanites started becoming artificially intelligent, they stopped eating all the power - as they were too busy developing the most complex code ever. So the power should be working, there is just no way anyone is going to notice it.

The brother did not die until about episode 9. You would have choked when you saw Rachel and Charlie basically shrug their shoulder and start working with Monroe at the start of this season. Then again, you would have been distracted with about 50 plot holes (over the entire season so far).

No. The show is doing just fine without him. It was his co-creator and the rest of the production team that were doing most of the good work on SPN. Kripke can set up basic plots, but has no ability to develop them without a heck of a lot of help.

If it were so wonderful the ratings and reviews would not be so horrible. If the show is costing more than it makes, it has to be cancelled.

If the finale is unsatisfying I'll just watch episode 15 again and stop it before the nanos get the code. And then, may Revolution RIP. Will be missed.

We all did the second NBC hit Kripke with a second hiatus. It is almost guaranteed that it came with a wrap order. If Kripke ignored that, and burns the fans, he should plan on take a few years off as they will remember.

Agreed! He is missed. Hope Kripke stays away from it though.
