EVERYTHING about this episode was AMAZING!! Carol is one of the best characters of this show and this is what a real episode looks like. Wonderful. I want more episodes that have this quality.
When Tyreese told Carole he forgave her. That was so big. He understood why she did it. Whereas, Rick just went crazy on her and threw her out. I think Tyreese is a better person than Rick at this point.
I don't think he forgave her because he understood why she did it. He was horrified by what happened; she stabbed them in their sleep and then set them on fire. I think he just let it go because they had a really long day and he didn't feel like more killing was the right response.
This whole episode was my favorite scene. Carol has evolved into an astonishingly strong character -- probably my favorite in the cast -- and Melissa McBride's has turned in brilliant performances throughout. I hope the writers are taking notes, because "The Grove" should set the bar for all future TWD installments. Amazing, Emmy-worthy work all around.
so hard to pick out any particular scene when the entire ep was outstanding, all of the Tyreese/Carol scenes were so intense and any Lizzie scene was hard to look away from..... so good
The "Lizzie tells Carol and Tyreese that it's ok, she didn't hurt the brain." scene was a shock, but Carol telling Lizzie to look at the flowers really got to me. And the whole episode was great!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
The "look at the flowers" scene was definitely the best. It reminded me of Lennie Small and George Milton.

ReplyDeleteThe Of Mice and Men scene, of course.

ReplyDeleteThat was my take on it also. There aren't that many people around and Carol is a valuable resource.

ReplyDeleteIt was a great episode overall, but I went w/Carol telling Lizzie to look at the flowers. That was a pretty powerful scene!
