Dianne Wiest, the sweat mom in the original "Lost Boys" was the "Judge"! If your not watching "The BlackList" you're really missing out. 2 weeks until the next episode..........................NOOOOOOOOOO! 4 THE TOP SPOT ON THE BLACKLIST, I am Nobody!!!
Maybe not an "Awesome" episode because of the lack of emotional investment due to the person in danger (Cooper) not being someone most people care about, but still a "Great" episode I think.
Tom is finally revealed to be a spy.
Nothing new to many of us who expected him to be playing against Lizzie and Red since the first episode, but the confirmation is nice!
Jolene is working for the same people Tom works for. That was an interesting little twist, but not really shocking I guess. We knew Jolene was working against Red due to Red's concern, so it is not a big step to her working for Red's adversary... or even being his adversary. I think she may be a bit young for the latter however.
Always nice to see Lance Riddick, but in a cowboy hat? Even Red could not contain himself from mocking that fashion choice! XD
Personally, I had no issue with Cooper beating the suspect. I do not think it makes him any worse of a leader or question his authority any more than I did before.
Spader was awesome as ever!
I guess for me this episode was a table setter. It moved the story forward on a few levels and set up a lot of what will happen in the final 7 episodes of the season.
Oh damn i knew that at the end Tom was gonna be the bad guy but at the same time i didnt want to believe Red, now lets see how things are going to go and why "they" want to kill Lizz. The storyline on this episode worked so well together in one hand we had a guilty person that was innocent and "the judge" go to his/her help and on teh otehr we had a person who appears innocent but it was a not. It was really good.
I could be way wrong, but part of me thinks that Jolene/Lucy brooks isn't necessarily bad. Maybe she is actually working to protect Lizzie or even tom is her target. Red had the option to stop her, and he chose not to do so, and he said he would like to see her plan to the end, so I think if he actually was worried about her being after himself or Lizzie, he would have done something. But it will be interesting to see who she is actually working for.
Good point. If Tom is fighting Jolene in the preview for next week as some people think, then it really does seem like Tom and Jolene have different goals.
I guess it's possible she could be working a third path, not truly against Red and not truly with Tom (or his people), but that seems somewhat unlikely to me.
My thought process was that if Jolene knows Tom and his mission she probably works for the same people. Add in the fact that she has been hiding from Red, even going so far as to fake her own death, and I think she is working against Red.
I thought Red let Jolene do her thing because no matter what her endgame is, it may help him achieve his goal of getting Liz away from Tom.
Thanks for reminding me about her faking her death! Totally forgot about that part. Unless I'm forgetting something, she might have faked her death for reasons other than red? Or maybe she faked her death to escape him or get him off her trail. But I do have to agree about red and letting Jolene get to her end game. I can't put a guess as far as if she is good or bad quite yet, or if she is working with or against red. But another thing that stands out to me was when red was wanting answers to where she has been, and it was showing us the flashbacks of the places red was, I'm wondering if he was following her or if she was following him. Maybe she has answers that red needs.
I took Jolene being in the same places as RED to mean she was following him or spying on him for Red's adversary, but it certainly could be for more selfish reasons if she is working alone.
My one goal for the season is that we find out the identity of Red's adversary. I know some want to know Liz's relationship to Red, but I do not find that nearly as interesting personally.
I think finding out who is responsible for the actions that made Red go underground in 1990 is more intriguing. As is finding out who is a powerful enough adversary to actually scare Red. To make Red's primary goal to locate this mysterious adversary. That is very interesting to me.
i was only just able to watch the episode and all i can say is...just, um...omg i don't even know!!!
i will admit i was a teensy bit disappointed because when i realized Cooper was the target, i was hoping that Red would step in, no strings attached...just a "Well, you ARE part of the team as well so here yah go!" but it is of course Raymond Reddington, so there will be a favor to be had a little down the line. the argument could be made that the war will effect everyone so Cooper is also helping himself, i just thought it would be nice to see Red step in for someone OTHER than Lizzie(preferably Aram, because next to Red he's my favorite...mostly because he's just so freakin' adorable)
Now about Tom. Lets face it, almost all of us knew that he was NOT a teacher, and the whole marriage was a sham to get close to Lizzie, although there are many possible reasons why
HOWEVER...
guys, after watching that scene a few times, i actually think however he came to be given this assignment, he actually has grown to care for Keene. The way she said "Wrong Answer" he tenses for a moment. i could be said he was unsure if she was a test but IMHO he could be, and seemed to be thinking of a way to dissuade her. When we see them fighting in the preview, which i'm like 99 percent sure it's her, i have a gut feeling she threatens Keene in some way, and he's actually trying to defend her. i can't be sure obviously because this is The Blacklist and we never know what we think we know, but i think we'll find for the two years he was undercover, he genuinely fell for her.
off topic a little, is anyone else hoping Ressler finds out and follows through, kicking his @$$ like he said he would????
I also hope Ressler finds out and kicks Tom's ass. I think it might be that Jolene is not bad after all, Tom is not defending Liz, in the promo you can see him atacking the Cowboy.
To be fair, if you found someone you didn't know going through your house or vehicle or something, you may be tempted to throw a punch or two yourself...or at least i would lol
I know this is a far fetched plot, but what if, Liz turns out to be a criminal and tom is the good one? I know it's out there, but from the blacklist names and their capabilities that we have seen, it seems like if she knew the right people, she could easily have no record and become a FBI agent. That would be a twist no one saw coming. Now it will be interesting to find out who Tom is working for, who Jolene is and why tom is after Liz and why Jolene is following red(or if red is following her) and what she wants.
We all knew that Tom had a hidden agenda and now it finally revealed.....Red is doing his part to protect Liz but he should give her more information about Tom. next week will be interesting as we learn more about who Tom really is? I don't think he foreign agent but working some unknown party. Hopefully Red tells Cooper about Tom and Lucy Brooks/Jolie at some point. I think Cooper know that Red may have paid a part in Fowler disappearance but he won't be able to prove it.......So much going on
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Holy **** ! That preview!
ReplyDeleteMore Spader means better show. All the scenes without are the boring procedural stuff you see on everything else.
ReplyDeleteI hope the show can keep up this pace! I really enjoy the characters and can't wait to see where they go with this story line.
ReplyDeleteThis is probably the second or third best episode of the series. James Spader is just so, so, so good.
ReplyDeletewow what an ep.... Spader rules, and Lance Reddick in a cowboy hat, nuff said, and an awesome cotw
ReplyDeleteYou know Lance Reddick was "PaPa Legba" in American Horror Story: Coven, right? 4 EVER, Nobody!!!

Nice acting moment by Ryan Eggold to turn Hyde like that.
ReplyDeleteThis episode went by too fast!
