Amber's transformation was so SCARY. They didn't even show us if she lives through it.
Alittle Elena/Clay payoff. Can't wait till the finale, though.
My big problem with this show is no wolf fights, no claws. They don't need guns and the big showdown should have been a claws and wolf fight. But at least Nick got to stand up for it, though.
This was my fave episode so far. I thought it was really well done, and the characters (good and bad) had moments to shine. The plot is thickening in intense ways, and they finally gave us some sort of movement with Clay/Elena, which has been long overdue in the tv land version. Nick is getting better by the week, and Jeremy was pretty 'dominate male' in this one. Quite loving it all.
With the exception of her boring Toronto life. Can't wait for that to go away.
All the Toronto scenes were a buzzkill. It's not that I don't like Logan and Rachel, but their scenes didn't hold up to everything else that was going on. And Philip just looks so lame all the time.
I get what they're trying to do, I really do, but I think that they're failing at it. Every time we get a scene with Philip and his sister/family member/whatever they just start to lose me. It's hard to care about Elena's photography show (that she isn't even excited about, by the way) when they are in a literal war for their lives. My personal preference is for Elena to be with Clay, so though I absolutely love the actor/character of Philip, I wish they'd find another way to keep him around that doesn't involve a romance with our female werewolf. :) As for Logan, he's less dead to me after tonight. LOL I have really, REALLY been hating on him for awhile now, but they managed to showcase his concerns a little better this time. Having said that, they need to give him a point soon, because it doesn't even feel like he's a member of the pack. His toiling alone in Toronto is extremely boring. JMO. Oh, and back to Philip again, I love that he's at least suspicious finally. Wow, that was a crazy overshare of opinion, lol.....I strayed from the original point of the thread. Sorry about that. Ha!
Valid point, and cheers to the Toronto stuff disappearing. However, since the show has strayed so far away from the book at this point, maybe there could be one human to know their secret and be an ally of sorts. Personally, I'm rooting for the sheriff for that one. LOL Hope to see more of her and Jeremy. :)
Good episode. I like that every character had a significant role in this episode. I loved the scenes with Nick and Jeremy and how Jeremy has taken over that fatherly role, and I really appreciated the glimpse we got into Antonio's past. I'm clearly in the minority, but I'm very glad that they're keeping the Toronto scenes, just because it makes the story more complex and creates more plot potential. I would be bored if they only focussed on the Pack-mutt wars or the Elena/Clayton angst. Maybe I would feel differently if I read the book, but as it stands, I'm somewhat indifferent to the Elena/Clay drama. Its obvious that they have good chemistry, but the fact that we already know that they are endgame, makes their whole story somewhat less exiting for me. I think I'm usually more invested in couples, when we get to watch their relationship unfold from the beginning (one flashback episode doesn't count), but Elena already had a long history with Clay in the Pilot I also like that we get the perspective of others on the outside like Phillip. I also really like the Logan storyline. and can fully empathize with him. Unlike the others, Logan grew up with his mother and probably never developed the same kind of strong family ties with the pack, especially when compared to Clay and Nick. Elena grew up in Foster homes so the pack was her only family. Most people hate Logan for staying away from the pack, but I could fully understand why his wife's pregnancy would make him want to stay away. And now that he knows the baby's sex, he's going to be forced to make a choice between loyalty to the pack or loyalty to Rachel.
Elena, quit being such a bitch to Clay! The poor guy can't take much more of this.
Great episode, probably my favorite after 2 and 5.. loved the action we got, so excited we finally got the fireplace scene! Gah! For the 30 seconds of Elena/Clay quickly shattered when Elena decided (A G A I N) to go back to Toronto it was a good 30 seconds.
And.... again the 'I'm going back to Toronto' ending, As I mentioned earlier it really pisses me off and gets me bored. Escpe ially after the awaited fireplace scene. Poor Clay, he has such a lonely feel to him, nobody understands him, and he's sooo faithfully and damn deeply in love :/
Besides this, it was a very good ep. But I still don't get why would wolves with scary claws fight with guns and other weaponry...
The preaching happened before his girlfriend became pregnant, which no doubt changed his perspective. I think Rachel also mentioned having a miscarriage the last time she was pregnant, due to stress, and he probably felt that she was in no state to be left alone. She's his significant other, so I wouldn't be surprised if she's more important to him than the pack (and she should be!). Also, I think that having a son definitely changes his perspective on how he views the pack...he probably sees them as a threat and wants to protect Rachel. From the flashback, we learn that Antonio also tried to separate himself from the pack when he had Nick.
pretty good ep overall, with some decent action but some parts: the Logan and Phillip parts feel like they're dragging on for me (but figure that forward movement will come soon). I do feel that the ep left out some key details - like why is the former pack enforcer no longer in the pack and why is this "pack" so darn small, they sure could use more members...
I agree much^ I feel like this is the one time they need to stray from the books, because if this is what the books is about as it goes on its like what is the point of them being werewolves when most of the times they are humans.
some notes this episode: werewolves who fight in human form... why meet in an abandanded factory when you can meet in an vast forest... and handle business in your natural form. A little surprised Clay let LeBlanc go. (don't nobody comment he had a gun...) Please stop turning in to a wolf? why? Change and bite his ass off. And they barely even fight in wolf form, and they are already interesting in the idea of changing back mid change.
Elena... how can you sleep with Clay one moment and the next morning be all Toronto life again, and dis the idea of Clay coming with you for obvious reasons. If you were gonna be like that don't even do that.
About Logan I like him but I feel like he is a smart man, he should know the choice. One is he has to tell his gf of what will happen, and I don't know if its against the pack law or not to tell about the secret but no matter what when the kids turns 20 boom change is happening.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

I thought it was a fun hour.

ReplyDeleteI agree, but I don't know what they can really do with Philip. I doubt he's strong enough to be turned. I just can't see him as a werewolf.
ReplyDeleteIf we get a season two, I hope all this Toronto stuff is wrapped up by then.

ReplyDeleteI hope they give Jeremy someone to love. He badly needs it.
ReplyDeleteI need a promo for next weeks episode like now!!!!!
ReplyDeletethank god i'm rewatching the veronica mars series because the wait would be unbearable

But I like the new bossier Jeremy, too!

ReplyDeleteeveryone is all short sighted.
Just for the record, the book isn't like this at all. There is a ton of wolf action in the book.
ReplyDeleteread the book there wasn't that much and it was still bland and not well written.
ReplyDeleteOkay then. We'll just have to disagree on that. LOL
