  4. It will be interesting to see how Brienne's arc plays out this year since from the previews it appears to be quite different than the books.

  5. Oh good! Was looking forward to the titles and the synopsis come out.

  6. They did say it was going to be different. Not a purest so Im curious myself.

  7. I'm glad, but I will miss the lion and his brilliant portrayal in a lot of ways

  8. I was dreading the same thing when I read these titles.

  9. I can never find confirmation whether Gwendoline Christie is a regular even after 3 seasons so I wonder if they are going to build up to a cliffhanger with LS and we won't see Brienne until the end of S5 or S6 or something ridiculous because really she should be a regular by now and its the only reason I can think of that she might not be one. I may be reading too much into it! I wish GRRM would finish the next book already.

  10. HA! XD
Yeah I want the new book like you and everybody else!

If you have an iPad you can get the GRRM's: A World of Ice and Fire app and it will contain a sample chapter from the upcoming book. Obviously not like reading the full book, but new material is new material!

Can read about it here if you have not already.

  11. Okay just a question guy : Will this season just be the second half of A Storm of Swords or will we get a bit of AFFC and ADWD?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Oh yeah I read about that, I keep hoping for a 2014 release but I know its going to be 2015 which is just too far!

  13. They are doing the Purple Wedding in the second episode. Wow, thought it would be the 4th or 5th. Okay!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Wow, did not expect the 'Purple Wedding' to come so early in the season, but I certainly don't mind. It'll be nice not having to wait 8 or 9 episodes for it! I personally can't wait. Long time coming!

  15. Emily, I believe episode 9 is going to be the Battle of Castle Black vs the Wildings.

  16. If I understand correctly, this season will be the rest of Storm of Swords, and some of both Feast for Crows and Dance with Dragons (maybe 1/5 or 1/4 of each?). Season 5 will be more of both Feast for Crows and Dance With Dragons, and Season 6 will be the rest of Feast for Crows and Dance With Dragons.

  17. Thank you. That's gonna be long. I gotta finish both these books.

  18. "The Lion and the Rose", Game of Thrones goes meta! Me likey.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Also, correct me if I'm wrong (and 'spoilers' from the books alert), but wouldn't episodes 1 and 4 basically be about the same things? (the titles, of course)

    ReplyDelete
  20. They do have similar themes going by the books' timing, but I think they will play out somewhat differently on TV since Jaime has already arrived in KL..

Plus I suspect that there will be double meanings to each title..
Perhaps it could refer to 2 swords as in Jaime sparring with another swordsman or they could compare and contrast Jon with Jaime since both are arriving back to places very different people than when they left.

In addition to the obvious oath and Oathkeeper, I can think of a number of oaths possible around Episode 4 as well.

  21. Yeah, but since Game of Thrones episode titles tend to be very specific to items/places/titles instead of supporting double meanings and metaphors, one might think that (again, spoilers) Two Swords reffers to the actual two swords gifted to Jaime and Jeff and Oathkeeper to the name given to Jaime's so, basically the same things.

  22. This season will be great! 'The Lion and the Rose' sounds like a good title episode for a wedding....

    ReplyDelete
  23. And episode 10 will probably be Stannis saving the day...

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'm pretty sure episode 1 will be about Oberon Martell & The Mountain (not the duel, just the introduction) and reminding people why they are important.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yeah, I was surprised at that. I thought the wedding would be somewhere in the middle of the season.

  26. You know **** is gonna hit the fan when GRRM is writing an episode.

No, that will definitely come at the end of the episode, just like Tywin saving Blackwater.

  28. (spoilers)

I still remember that scene where Jaime speaks to Brienne and gives her the sword (on a side note, I was really mad they melted down Ice) and then he sits down to update his page in The White Book (or whatever it was called, I can't recall) and how insignificant a lot of his achievements seemed boiled down to bullet points like that. It was really well written and I can't wait to see it on the show.

  29. "Stannis! Stannis! STANNIS!" :D

    ReplyDelete
  30. Why did you expect it to come so late? Most of the story left over from book 3 happens *after* the Purple Wedding.

    ReplyDelete
  31. That White Book scene was great in the book!

Melting Ice down meant more in the books to me since the ancestral swords were much more important and noted than on the TV series, but it will still be sad indeed!

  32. Either that or they move that forward to Episode 4.09 and have the Lord Commander election be the big scene at the Wall for the finale.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yeah, one of the first attempts to create peace between Robb and King's Landing, one of the demands he makes is the return of Ice.

This is a little schadenfreude of me, but I hope Oathkeeper and Widow's Wail acquire no history or glory of their own. (I haven't read books 4 and 5, so I don't know if anything comes up)
