I actually liked the scene where its just Stiles locked in the Locker.. surrounded by other lockers and outside the flimsy door is Bandage head ranting and wanting to be let in. The fact that there is no room in the locker for him to fit shows that once he is in, Stiles is 'out'
Its a very short scene, broken up by Malia
Man the imagery answers so many of the questions I have in each episode, but the even cooler thing is that people see different things than me and we could still both be right.
In regards to Morell being able to kill Stiles. Im wondering if Dark stiles would instantly take over to protect the host? Sorta like a threat response. I doubt she would survive such an encounter.
I actually found the Armored Car Heist thing to be kinda eh. Just didnt feel any attachment to it. (On Another note the guy playing Kincaid I believe has also been in Longmire and Banshee). It led into the new character going from having few martial abilities to kick ass swords person in a few episodes. (Kira). That just went a little too over the top for me.
Finally Oliver. I wasnt sure I was going to like Oliver too much. It would of been a hard role to cast. I actually though Stiles might have an 'imaginary' friend only he could see: Oliver, so I was waiting to see If people reacted to Oliver. They did in a few scenes so I discounted that theory, but it just led me to to wonder if the Nogitsune can corrupt just by exposure. Kudos to the actor playing Oliver. He didnt have a lot to do, but he played it well
I love Stiles and his dad, I think they have awesome chemistry on screen and every scene they're in together ends up being my favorite. So I voted for the pillow scene. But, in my very humble opinion, Dylan O'Brien did a TERRIFIC job on this episode, as he has constantly done throughout the whole series. He's really surprising me. I always liked Stiles and it's pretty clear he is a good actor, but this season he's going on a completely different direction with the character and managing to blow me away. Congrats, Dylan!
I swear that the Stilinskis live to break my heart. When Stiles later said "I can't sleep without my pillow" I almost cried. I really don't care for this new relationship. Not at all. Did they have sex though? I am confused.
Is it because Scott wasnt around though to 'moderate' Stiles that we saw this side of him? Even early on in the episode just after the hanging, we saw the Stiles first instinct was to tell Scott something. The fact he literally couldnt communicate to his best friends meant that Stiles had to adapt, to use Oliver/Malia as his proxy Scott.
I loved the scene with the crazy chick on the non working phone!... didnt anyone else expect her to be mummy man or some other creepy creature? Sure it was a red herring .. but it was an awesome red herring.
No, it's because he fell asleep. Of course Scott has a decisive influence on Stiles, but I believe it was made pretty clear during the episode that if Stiles were to fall asleep, he would be vulnerable. Obviously, if we stretch the cause-effect equation, it was partially because Scott was not there. Maybe if Scott and not Malia had been the one to assist Stiles, he would have handled the situation more effectively and Oliver would have never gotten that shot of whatever drug that was, but that's me conjecturing.
oh, right. You do raidos not checkboxes! :-D I picked the pillow scene....was thinking to myself...I don't even need to read the other nominees...but thought 'maybe I should. I was about the pick the scene when Evil Mummy Stiles forced Stiles to let him in and then I remember.... Dahne does raidos...I really didn't need to read more. :-D
Goes to the pillow scene.
The Nogitsune's negotiation was also really heart breaking.
Yeah. Teen Wolf dosnt get a lot of renown because it airs on MTV but the product it puts out certainly asks more questions than most wider station shows. Much more.
I also loved Stiles seeing things just in the corner of his vision. A common occurance (ive had some experience not sleeping for days) is that you start seeing things out of the corner of your vision or in places you least expect.
Then look at where Stiles is looking over the railing to the lobby and bandage man is there, then Stiles is looking out of the corner at Bandage man being in just range of his vision.
I voted for the pillow scene between Stiles and his father, because it's the most heartbreaking & powerful scene in my opinion. Stiles saving Malia by becoming DarkStiles is my second choice. And then so many scenes are so good!
In the end, I voted for the pillow scene too. It was so heartbreaking, watching Sheriff start to panic and then Stiles hugging him, only to walk away. Ouch, my heart still hurts.
I really hope Stiles does NOT become a werewolf. I want thhe atrophy in Stiles' brain to actually have been the nogitsune and not a degenerate brain condition. Then once they remove the nogitsune, Stiles will be "cured" and life goes on.
It's not "best" if you can choose more than one. Believe me it is as hard for me as it is for you guys. I ended up with teh pillow scene as well because I am a sucker for the parent-teen relationships on this show, one of its best features.
Dylan O'Brien is nailing everything they throw at him. While I don't like all that Stiles is going through right now, I do love that they are giving Dylan a lot to work with this season. He's doing such a great job.
Stiles is the human connection. They need to have some people who are not supernatural on the show to be our stand-in. I lvoe Stiles' humanity, his "normal".
I agree it was sleep more than Scott's absence that made Stiles vulnerable. But really it was his heart. He couldn't let someone die even if the consequences could be devastating for everyone.
I expect crazy phone chick to be back to be honest. She knows something and Stiles is still at the asylum so who knows where that could lead.
I had that scene in until the final cut because it was terrifying and well shot. Then I took it out because the poll was getting too Stiles heavy. I would like to think that if Morell tried to kill Stiles, the nogitsune would tear her in half. I never did like her. In fact for most of 3A, I thought she was the Darach.
I agree completely about the whole heist subplot. It was very weak for a sequence that contained basically all of the other main characters. Too far-fetched for me as is the idea that Beacon Hills police are so incompetent that they didn't see a scroll in their main piece of evidence. It wasn't the most preposterous thing in the episode, that still goes to Kira's instant ninja skills, but it still took me completely out of the episode.
I am very interested in learning more about the nogitsune because that preview made it seem like everyone was possessed. How many nogitsune are they? Can they jump from person to person like in Devil's Trap of Supernatural or Sleepy Hollow? That is the most fascinating thing for me right now and I hope we get time to explore the mytharc of ti all. I'm getting worried since there are only 4 more episodes left.
I have this feeling Dahne that you were probably a big Xander fan :), although Stiles seems far more edgy than Xander ever was. Stiles connects because in a lot of scenes what he is adding to the scene dosnt drive the plot, he just does it. His scene with the Vending machine being one of these. Dosnt even touch the plot, its just there to break up the tension.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Guess the drill scene proved that :)

i think we can say yeah that did at this point.

They sure as hell did, yeah.

I hadn't looked at the locker scene quite that way. Wow. I will be thinking about it as I rewatch the episode.
ReplyDeleteMy initial thought about Oliver was that he was going to turn out to *be* the Nogitsune.
Yeah. Teen Wolf dosnt get a lot of renown because it airs on MTV but the product it puts out certainly asks more questions than most wider station shows. Much more.

Scott interprets the scroll to mean that he has to make Stiles a werewolf to save him

ReplyDeleteCan't choose! Loved the episode!
ReplyDeleteThe scene with Derek and Chris in prison.
ReplyDeleteI lol'ed at the nick name you gave the nogitsune. Mummy Mouth. Made me smile ;) Loved the Stiles and Malia scences.
ReplyDeleteThanks. it was the first thing I thought of when I saw it. Follwed shortly by, "And what big teeth you have."
ReplyDeleteInteresting theory. I thought it was banshees since it will focus on Lydia.
ReplyDeleteI love that we are getting scenes with these two now.
ReplyDeleteThis was the hardest episode for me yet. So many good choices it was hard enough narrowing to 3, much less 1.
ReplyDeleteIn the end, I voted for the pillow scene too. It was so heartbreaking, watching Sheriff start to panic and then Stiles hugging him, only to walk away. Ouch, my heart still hurts.

ReplyDeleteI certainly think they did. If not it was a weird place to cut.
ReplyDeleteDylan O'Brien is nailing everything they throw at him. While I don't like all that Stiles is going through right now, I do love that they are giving Dylan a lot to work with this season. He's doing such a great job.
ReplyDeleteWhere's the fun in that? Lol

Yeah but there should be some consequence to this storyline
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to widdle you down. sigh. You keep throwing logic at me.
ReplyDeleteI haven't surrendered yet. :-D
It could be Banshees too. Could be both, knowing Teen Wolf. Looks like some new hunters will be causing trouble too.
ReplyDeleteI have this feeling Dahne that you were probably a big Xander fan :), although Stiles seems far more edgy than Xander ever was.
