Welsh actor Matt Ryan (Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior) is finalizing a deal to play the lead in NBC’s drama pilot Constantine, from Warner Bros TV. Based on the characters in DC Comics’ John Constantine stories, the project centers on John Constantine (Ryan), an enigmatic and irreverent con man-turned-reluctant supernatural detective who is thrust into the role of defending us against dark forces from beyond. John Constantine is described as a working-lass Londoner with rakish good looks, scruffy blond hair, deadpan humor, and signature trench coat, who has been studying the dark arts since he was a teenager. When the daughter of a late friend is targeted by demons, Constantine steps in to save her.

AWESOME about time we got some news on the show and the roles
ReplyDeleteI reaaaalllllllllyyyyyyyy hope this show gets picked up. I've seen a few people online say theres too many sci-fi and fantasy shows on, but I say no to that, as there have been times when 6 to 7 out of 10 dramas on broadcast were cop, law or doctor procedurals. Anyway to get off that tangent I love these comics and even enjoy the movie when I pretend it's its own thing. If NBC and the production company whoever they are is willing to give this show a really good budget then I say go for it.
ReplyDeleteThey went British! That is a good start
ReplyDeleteAt first sight I don't like. But he is british and that's good. I can't wait to see his characterization.
ReplyDeleteIt's been years since I saw the movie, but I hope this is good.
ReplyDeleteUGH! Why is this on NBC though!!! It's almost destined to failed. D:
ReplyDeleteHe's British, but not blond, LOL, not that I care, but I know some fans do. I really hope they pick this show up for a shorter run (10-13 episodes) and have it on Fridays in the fall. I would love a Fall: Grimm & Constantine, Winter/Spring: Grimm & Hannibal combo on Fridays.
ReplyDeleteEasy enough to colour his hair a dirty blonde colour.
ReplyDeleteCould be worse - could be on Fox!
ReplyDeleteYeah and some actresses color their hair for TV roles, but I haven't seen many actors who do it, they normally just forgo the traditional hair color of the character.
ReplyDeleteFox is faring better ratings wise this season.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how he plays the bisexual angle.
ReplyDeleteFirst I was like a Football Player??? But searched and saw, yea I remember watching him in couple episode not bad of a choice.
ReplyDeleteYes.. but Fox are worse at cancelling great shows!
