The Mysteries Of Laura - Adaptation of Spanish Drama gets Cast-Contingent Pilot Order at NBC

NBC has picked up to pilot Warner Bros TV-produced drama The Mysteries Of Laura, from writer Jeff Rake, Greg Berlanti’s Berlanti Productions and Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment. The project, based on the popular Spanish series Los Misterios De Laura, had a production commitment and I hear has a cast-contingent order. It follows the life and relationships of a female homicide detective who can handle murderous criminals — but not her evil twins. WBTV, where Berlanti Productions is based, is producing. Rake wrote the adaptation and will executive produce with Berlanti and Kaplan, while Berlanti Productions’ Melissa Kellner Berman co-execute produces.

  1. LOL- evil twins? Really? I haven't seen the original one, so I don't know if they do it well there, but it sounds a bit ridiculous.

  3. Hahaha, I though she couldn't handle her evil twin sisters, not her kids.

  6. That really need to change the wording. I also thought "evil twins" refered to her sisters, and not daughters.

  7. The spanish show is funny. The kids don't have such a prominent place, though. Laura is more a wifey version of Liutenant Columbo.

  8. The original show is not really about the relationship about Laura and her twins (that's just a part of the show), it's about her being a mix of a traditional housewife (who loves watching gossip TV shows and cooking) and a homicide detective. The very first scene in the series is hilarious: you see Laura showing her deduction skills in what appears to be a crime scene... but it's really a butcher shop and she is trying to demonstrate the cashier that he tried to cheat her with the change the last time she went there buying.
