lol at Crowley, Cas and Dean walking badass down a road ^^ can't wait, I seriously hope they get Sam back soon and don't spend too much time on the drama and rather get behind hunting Metatron fairly quickly.
Thats torturous to watch with Sam!. I hope he gets healed afterwards, more likely from Cas maybe?. Dean looks like he's hanging on a thread but he lookin' tough like ever before. I assume those street photos are before Gadreel was captured and that Blonde guy. That guy looks very much on the evil side... And the excitement of Crowley! :)
Right? I'm tired of Sam always having something seriously wrong with him -- addiction, soulless, hallucifer, trial sickness.. *sigh* I'm beginning to think we'll never see clever, sassy, badass Sam again.
I think they're trying to make it seem like he's lost absolutely everything he's ever known. I haven't read the most recent spoilers, I guess that's what they're going for?
being a plot device doesnt require one to be smart, funny, sassy, badass you just have to have something wrong with you or do something wrong in the case of this show.
I know, that's why I'm confused by the spoilers that I read before winter hellatus. They seemed to imply that Dean was more alone and more desperate than ever. It doesn't seem like that to me.
if there was no consequences after 150-200 years in hell people would've complain that it's way too easy, too ''magical fix'', same if there was no consequences/price to pay for closing the gates of Hell.
It's not like Dean really have a big story this year too. He made the choice about the angel in the premiere, but except keeping the secrets he didn't have much for the rest of the season either.
Sure of course there will be consequences. I'm just tired of Sam always being the one -- as if someone had to be -- to be put into another situation where he would end up paying the consequences. Why choose to make Sam the one who did the trials? Why not have Sam take care of Dean like he did a number of times in S1-3? I just feel like we're stuck in a rut here and rehashing the same tropes over and over. I wish that the narrative would surprise me.
I'm a fan of Dean getting hurt (I love every fics with hurt!Dean), so I can't say I'm against the idea. But why choose Sam for the Trials? I guess the writers just can't win whatever they do, one way or another. I remember the first part of season 8, there was a lot of Sam fans complaining that Sam had nothing to do except the Amelia boring flashbacks, while Dean had the purgatory repercution, the Purgatory flashback, he had the friends, he had Benny...etc, except conforting and taking a little care of Dean here and there in very small doses. Those fans were making threath that if Dean would do the trials they would quit. I remember all the anger when they first showed the trailer of 8x14, looking like Dean was gonna do them
And the second Sam got them, others fans took over, that it was ''all about Sam'' now. The second we have something for one group or another, the rest will complain their life out.
After 9 years, we can't avoid seeing stuff coming back or characters getting hurt. Either the boys live everything and beat everything without a scratch or they'll get hurt here and there many time.
It isn't about stuff coming back, if it never leaves. I don't have a problem with either of them getting hurt "here and there," but Sam has had something major wrong with him for large chunks of time since S4 -- addiction, soulless, flimsy wall in his head, hallicufer, trail sickness, possession. I'm not averse to a little hurt/comfort, but I'd like to see a little more of Sam in fighting form and being an equal member of the family business. This isn't about favoring Sam over Dean. I'd like to see them working together as a team, instead of Sam hurt and Dean being little more than a caretaker. I think there is more to their characters and relationship than this stagnant pattern and dynamic.
And there's a difference between "getting hurt" and being the writers' punching bag. While the writers focus for lengthy periods on these incapacitating issues that Sam has, whenever Dean has problems like when he returned from Hell, or his substance abuse, or PTSD after purgatory, it gets dropped. Maybe some fans are satisfied with that patter, but I'd like to see the writers be a little more creative and diligent in tying up loose ends.
I'm sure somebody pulled a mystical angel tranquilizer out of their arse. Whenever they need a quickfix for some situation they don't want to work their way out of, they invent some new nonesense that usually flies in the face of some established canon.
Maybe for five minutes. Then they'll just give everything back and not let any of it really develop for him. Dean does get shortchanged almost as much as Sam with the writers not fully realizing many of his character storylines. The complete drop of the alcoholism and PTSD post-Hell storylines were criminal. They've needed to address the drinking aspect of Dean's character for years, esp. since it's noticeably increased the past three seasons. And the PTSD? No one goes through what Dean did and comes out as adjusted as he has. Wasted potential. I think that's what really pisses me off about the writing staff on this show - they set up the ball and forget to bother trying to spike it.
They seemed to decrease the drinking quite a bit last season.
The problem is that this show doesn't suit an AA storyline. That story never should have been started in the first place.
I think this isn't about Dean being alone as much as it's about Dean making terrible choices and having to deal with the fallout of those. I'm not surprised he's back with Sam so quickly, but I hope they won't just have them make up because they only have each other, and all that jazz. I hope Dean will continue to splinter.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeletecan't wait, I seriously hope they get Sam back soon and don't spend too much time on the drama and rather get behind hunting Metatron fairly quickly.
Also: more Cas please.
Poor Sammy, lucky Cass' back in town to heal some future brain damages
ReplyDeleteI guess Gadreel will steal the impala. I bet Dean will be none too happy about that.
ReplyDeleteIs that last photo some crossover with American Horror Story gone horribly wrong?
ReplyDeleteWeird seeing Cas without a tie.
Looks like Cas has to stop Dean from stopping Crowley's procedure on Sam? Not sure what that's about.
Is that a Hobbit in the last picture or is Jared really that tall??
ReplyDeleteThats torturous to watch with Sam!. I hope he gets healed afterwards, more likely from Cas maybe?. Dean looks like he's hanging on a thread but he lookin' tough like ever before. ReplyDeleteAnd the excitement of Crowley! :)
we already know that Sam gets a quick fix in episode 10
ReplyDeleteyes because the angel wearing your brother taking your can should be what you're pissed about about?!
ReplyDeleteI hope Jared enjoyed his time off
ReplyDeleteOh Gosh, I'm so tired of seeing Sam in pain all the time. Please, please make it stop :'(
ReplyDeleteRight? I'm tired of Sam always having something seriously wrong with him -- addiction, soulless, hallucifer, trial sickness.. *sigh* I'm beginning to think we'll never see clever, sassy, badass Sam again.
ReplyDeleteLooks good.
ReplyDeleteI think they're trying to make it seem like he's lost absolutely everything he's ever known. I haven't read the most recent spoilers, I guess that's what they're going for?
ReplyDeleteWell, Gadreel would steal Dean's car not his can. And what is wrong with me saying that Dean would be upset about his car? Nothing.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to talk about Sam, go ahead. But do it with someone else. I'm not interested. I'll continue to post about Dean.

ReplyDeleteat least it gives Jared something to do
ReplyDeletehe has Sam back by the end of the episode, he has Cas by his side for the whole episode, he has the bunker
ReplyDeleteRight. What was I thinking. Oh yeah, that there used to be two lead characters on the show. Sam who?
ReplyDeleteI know, that's why I'm confused by the spoilers that I read before winter hellatus. They seemed to imply that Dean was more alone and more desperate than ever. It doesn't seem like that to me.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious how they find Gradeel so quickly, able to snatch him up, and get him back to the bunker. I don't exactly think he'd go nicely.

these Pic scare me but I have a little faith that Sam will be ok in the end but who am I kidding. God this is going to be a bad one right?
