I’m still really noticing a trend with the quality of the episodes being significantly better the less we are stuck at the wedding.
Loved the whole episode…maybe not the best episode this season, but definitely the funniest. Everyone playing with Barney’s mind about Marshall’s training, the Nora cameo…all just really good.
“That’s a big tip! You must have much gold!” *SLAP* XD
And I’ll admit it, I was tearing up at the slap montage. :’(
Absolutely horrible. The cold open with the dramatic music and the slap heading towards Barney was funny and it set me up for a potentially awesome episode. But that was the only laugh of the night. I had no laughs, the whole fake story was boring and unfunny, and did not care for the up close shot of the slap (just didn't do it for me).
Not sure about the Boys 2 Men song, I love "You Just Got Slapped" when it was unexpected and fresh. Maybe its cause I've never heard Boys 2 Men sing so I didn't really care that they showed up to sing this.
All in all, goes right along with the awfulness of this season.
That was one weirdly funny episode! I liked the idea of giving it back to barney, the master of fake stories, with fake stories! Enjoyable one may be remembered as one of the weird episodes that featured in HIMYM's history!
You could say it's a filler episode, but it was good filler. It was so dumb it was funny; I say it was great, but not memorable at all. Could have been better for the sake of the slap, but it's great to see that for one Barney doesn't get the fake story; the last bit with fake Ted and accuracy was pretty dull, but that would be my only complain
I'm just watching because this is the last season and I have already made it this far. The show can put out some stellar eps. No doubt about it. But the past few years, I've been disappointed more often than I have been pleased. Ready for it to be over. I'm hoping they can work some of their magic here in the final stretch. This show has made me cry on multiple occasions. I want them to make cry again. I want to feel that pull to the characters that I used to. They're little more than caricatures at this point.
Slap Bet, Stuff, Slapsgiving, Slapsgiving 2 were the first 4. Then in Disaster Averted Barney makes a deal to receive 3 more slaps in return for being allowed to take the ducky tie off. Marshall immediately slaps him twice. Thus leaving us with 2 more slaps, one of which was tonight - although that doesn't explain why Marshall said "that's 4!"
Overall, I thought it was a good episode. I laughed a lot, and I loved everyone else going along with Marshall's story to freak Barney out. It's fun to see the usual fake-story teller become the victim of one. I loved the slow-mo shot of Barney's face being slapped, and how cool were Boyz II Men?! I did well up a little at the slap montage, it's so nearly all over. :( However, looking back on the other slaps, I have to say this was probably my least favourite slap. Looking forward to the final slap now, I hope it comes completely out of the blue, those are my favourites!
Thought slapsgiving was something about thanksgiving! But to put it that way, they have run out of ideas... This episode is the worst in the entire series!!! :p
But it's not - he's already done 4 original slaps. There was only 1 slap left when he got gifted the 3 extra. Unless it was sort of a way of saying 1 left, since the original number was 5.
I thought it was an interesting episode. It was a random way to do the slap bet saga, but I thought it had its moments. Chinese Ted was I think my favorite part and I hope they do the last slap in the best way possible to make up for this one
That was simply awful. It's sad they ruined the once great storyline of the slaps and even sadder they wasted one of the final episodes for something like this.
I always say people are way too harsh on hating How I Met Your Mother around here and I've been enjoying the final season but this one really didn't do it for me. Jason Segel and Neil Patrick Haris were great but that was it. I also liked the final scene and all the flashbacks but other than that it didn't do it for me I am afraid.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
LOL, that was interesting. Loved Boys 2 Men there at the end. Hee at Marshall lying about meeting all those people.
ReplyDeleteOk THIS WAS JUST BAD...WORST 30mins of my LIFE...AWFULL....can Season9 end already it's just being awful!!

Top 5 funniest HIMYM ever, Wow that was great
ReplyDeleteSlappointment? More like slapappointment, amirite?
ReplyDeleteWeird episode, best part was Boyz II Men I just love them. But, I still gave an awesome cause it was awesomely weird.

How about dislappointing, amirite?

ReplyDeleteWhat a tedious, boring and useless episode, Where's the Mother dammit!
ReplyDeleteI actually voted for awful. It was totally pointless and not the least bit funny. I'm surprised that so many people enjoyed it.

ReplyDeleteI side with you on this one.
ReplyDeleteLet's just pretend it didn't happen.
Great
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely funny episode. :) I laughed way too hard.
ReplyDeleteBTW: What are the episodes of previous slaps? Because I think he slapped him 6 times, not 4, and something isn't adding up to me.

It was finny, but kinda pointless at the same time. And didn't the press release say the final two slaps?
ReplyDeleteExcluding the 3 extra slaps Marshall got, this is the 4th of the original slaps.

ReplyDeleteFirst episode of this season that I've felt really disappointed after watching it.
ReplyDeletebwahahahahaha... And a Boys 2 Men topper. I thought it was awesome.

ReplyDeleteDefinitely one of my favorite episodes of this season, funny, creative and great.
