Fox chairman Kevin Reilly today announced that the series will include all of the classic Batman villains as well as heroes, including young Bruce Wayne. “The show will track Bruce from a child (around 12-year-old) until he puts on a cape (in the finale),” he said. Also on tap are the Ridler, Catwoman, the Penguin. “We will see how they get to become what they are as Gotham is teetering on the edge,” Reilly said. “It is an operatic soap with a larger than life quality.”

    I'm so excited. Batman has to be my favorite superhero so I can't wait till this premieres.

    Sounds like this may shape up to be a bit more Batman-centric than I thought. It's exciting, because I've always thought a Batman prequel TV series would be awesome. I'm really looking forward to this.

    Yeah, sounds like it. I am skeptical about how good this will be. Batman villains are just that...Batman villains. Not Gordon villains. Not sure how it will all work out. I don't have high hopes for this.

    I watched Smallville and used to love it, but I don't need a copycat. Besides I love Gotham and Batman's world mostly because it's so dark. So I'm skeptical about it. Not really interested now but may be when I'll see a trailer.

    The fact that Bruno Heller is involved does not impress me. He kinda botched the whole Mentalist-Red John storyline.
