What a night, guys. When the lights are out the wolves come out to play. We have so much to talk about, so let’s get this started.
51 were responding to a call that led to a blackout, all thanks to a drunk guy who drove his car into a utility pole. Fortunately for him, he’ll survive but he’s going to deal with a ton of guilt and probably jail time. One man can do so much damage to a whole city. With the electricity out, Chief Boden welcomes the public to stay at 51 till the power is back again.
So the uncle of the girl who’s in a coma came to 51 to seek vengeance. He attacked the drunk guy’s brother and got thrown out of the firehouse by Severide. It takes time to plot the perfect revenge. Someone should ask him watch the show Revenge. He made a death threat towards Severide who just shrugged it off like he’s used to getting them or something. Since this might have to warrant some attention from the police department, it gives Sophia Bush a reason to visit Chicago Fire. Man, I hope she gets to crossover often. However, I think it’s not a good enough reason for her to show up. I mean, doesn’t detectives only appear when there’s a dead body or something? Can't uniformed cops take care of this? I realized that Chicago PD's detectives often appear over the slightest things. Don’t they have murders to solve? Maybe I watch too much procedural dramas.
Throughout the episode they found out that there’s another man lurking around 51 looking for Severide. They did some patrolling around the firehouse and Casey’s the one to find him. Casey got shoved against the wall and hit his head. Maybe this time it’ll knock some of his memories back into his head? No?
Last week I was wondering if this whole memory loss problem is neurological or psychological. Then we have Casey bleeding from his ears. Dear Casey, I hope you realize that it’s probably time to tell Dawson and get it checked out. You might be hurt but you’re not stupid.
Amidst the blackout drama, we’ve got quite a handful of medical situations, which I love. Grey’s Anatomy is taking forever to return from its hiatus! Dawson’s helping out at the firehouse and also on calls, which does not bode well with Rafferty. In the end they managed to not strangle each other and help save an old lady's life. Dawson returns to being the paramedic rockstar she’s meant to be. Seriously, quit the fire academy because you and I both know where your heart belongs to. 10 bucks says she’ll be back.
Also, I realized something that I’ve never noticed before. I actually like Dawson and Mills together. I’m all for Dawson and Casey, but seeing those two together talking and helping people out made me realize that they’re not that bad as a couple. I actually liked Mills more when he's with Dawson.
Clarke got himself into quite a predicament when he was over at the shop across the street to get some more food. Because he’s a war hero, he managed to save the shop owner and beat up some guys at the same time. Like we’d expect anything less from him.
Since Shay is the new partner of Molly’s, she’s the deciding vote when Hermann, Otis and Dawson each have their different views about what they should do with the bar. When Shay said that she also got an idea, I knew it would be something gay. Lesbian night seems like a great idea to them. It was pretty funny.
Speaking of funny, the whole Otis/Katie and Chief Boden/Donna making out scenes and being caught was hilarious. It’s nice to see Chief Boden loosening up a little.
And when we thought everybody’s safe again, Katie gets kidnapped by the same guy who threatened Severide. Will this continue in the next episode, or in Chicago PD? This reminds me, for those who are watching Chicago PD, I’m still contemplating if I should watch it. Is it necessary since it’s somehow related to Chicago Fire? Is it worth it?
So did you guys enjoy the episode? I certainly did. Since I don’t see a promo anywhere, is it safe to say there won’t be a new episode next week? Let me know what you guys think about this episode!
I love Chicago PD, more than I love Chicaco Fire. Its a bit darker than CF and the fact that Sophia is back on screen definitely helped with that lol
ReplyDeleteAnd they're gonna crossover a lot from what I read so definitely think its worth watching.
Severide is gonna be in Chicago PD tonight & now I get why :')
It's not necessary to watch Chicago PD because of Fire, but I think it's definitely worth it!! They still have these little cross overs, and the characters are fun. It's a little more hardcore than Chicago Fire. But Sophia Bush!!! OF course you should watch it :D :D Honestly, I saw a BTS picture of Sophia Bush filming PD, and then I saw it was a planned spin off for Chicago FIre, so I started watching that.
ReplyDeleteAnd yup no new episodes for a month because of the Olympics :( Thanks for the review!!
I tried to watch Chicago PD a couple of times but ending up turning it off both times because it's too violent for me and I didn't find any of the stories interesting. So I'm feeling rather resentful that I'm expected to watch CPD as well in order to find out the resolution to the stories started on Chicago Fire..
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to clear something up, since it was brought up in your review. Detectives don't just deal with murders/dead bodies - they are generally responsible for things that are outside the parameters of regular patrol. It's possible that this could have been handled by uniformed officers, but I remember Det. Lindsay saying specifically that she had heard from one of her informants, so this would have been for her to bring the information to them.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am rather enjoying Chicago PD.I like all the little crossovers, and feel like its a very different show from Chicago Fire.
Yes, I've seen some of the promos for Chicago PD and it looks quite interesting and intense, just what I like. Maybe I'll watch it since you guys think it's worth it :)
ReplyDeleteThey plan all these crossovers, it's hard not for me to watch both shows! I like how everybody's saying Sophia Bush is also another reason to watch it, hahaha. And seriously, a month??? I guess other shows will be on hold too, right?
ReplyDeleteI guess it's their way of pulling viewers over to PD! It's a good strategy. I think I'll check it out and see for myself if it's worth watching. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAfter I posted my review I remembered Detective Lindsay saying she received some information from her informants so I guess it's better for her to follow it up. I appreciate it and thanks for your clarification!
ReplyDeleteNo problem!
ReplyDeleteYup haha! I never watched One Tree Hill, but she's super cute. I just like her.
ReplyDeleteI've read that Chicago PD will take air 1x05 on the 5th of Feb and then come back on the 26th. Fire comes back on the 25th.
The Katie kidnapping is going to drive me nuts. Really hope she'll be okay. I really like what she brings to the show. Especially when it comes to Severide and Otis.
