Well, that was both delightfully sweet and delightfully meta. The writers are clearly having fun pitting the conventional wisdom of network programming (Find the perfect time and make a big event out of it!. Save it for sweeps! Save it for fall premiere week!) versus the overwhelming fan mentality (Just get married already, you crazy kids!). That's a rich comedic vein to tap into - at least as long as they don't overextend the joke.
Listen to Martha, people. She knows what's up and always has :)
Loved this whole scene. I agree with Martha. Go to city hall and just do it and then have a big wedding later. (Friends of mine got married at city hall last Feb. then had a big wedding in August). Martha rocks.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I love this. So much!
ReplyDeletebest sneak peak ever!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I love it! I loved the love pat Kate gave Rick on the A$$. I loved the kiss and wedding date planning. I loved Martha's advice to just do it!
