I realize that not all users will manifest physical changes but Laurel is looking a little too good for someone in the grip of a substance abuse problem. A rare miss from the makeup/wardrobe dept.
Finally, we will be seeing some Laurel. She looks good, despite all the hate and spiteful comments about her appearance. You go Laurel, and shut all those haters up. I want to see you kick some ass this time.
Laurel seems to actually be doing something this episode, good for her. But more importantly- SLAAAAAAAADE, Manu, why you have to be so hot while you're bad?
Yeah, Laurel will be very busy in this episode. She seeks out Arrow to investigate Blood, Blood gets her arrested when she gets too close to the truth, and looks to be kidnapped as well. Plus, Laurel has a very uncomfortable family reunion coming up in a later episode. This show is going to be putting her through the ringer.
I'm glad Laurel is finally getting something to do. I love Laurel. I think Katie's acting is fine,no worse than some of the females on the show. I don't make facial expressions either. I like that she tries to act normal, like a normal person would. Not overact like some i've seen on some shows. I actually want to see her turn into black canary.

I don't think of Deathstroke as a villain,I like him in the comics. He's cool. I consider him an antihero. Bad good guy. But he will be a great "villain" can't wait to see what he does to Oliver. I love Manu. He looks hot...
I'm glad their finally giving her a storyline. And something to do other than be a love interest or damsel in distress. I want to see her kick some major @$$...
Well he's THE mercernary, the veteran mercernary really, in the comics, so yes he's not a clear cut villain since he only cares about the pay check and getting the job done the most efficient way. Slade in the books doesn't care about all the superheroes and Supervillains' machinations because he's seen it all before. Now, if they show is able to capture that feeling of him being the veteran and knowing better than his younger counterpart, which they made headway with on the island, we'll be golden!
Agreed, I want her finish her "downward spiral" the writers are putting her on, so she can hit rock bottom and start her journey as a hero. I want her to start training (would love it if Sarah trains her- I don't want Oliver to have anything to do with her training, because I want her to be his equal, not protege) and I want her to kick some @ss finally. She hasn't exactly been a love interest this season, though she has been a damsel a few times- can't wait for her family reunion episode.
Unfortunately, I think Slade will be more of a villain on Arrow, rather than be closer to his comic book character (that seems to be 'Deadshot' on the show). I'd LOVE for him to be THE Mercenary, but with his personal vendetta against Oliver and whatever he's doing with Brother Blood, I'm guessing villain.
People dislike Laurel BECAUSE she doesn't have a good storyline and is being badly written, not out of some principle. If this new storyline finally fixes that (and if Cassidy steps up her game), you'll see more support for her character.
P.S. I know you're gonna pull out the "people would hate Laurel no matter what because they want Olicity" card. Wrong. These shippers are a minority. Laurel gets all the heat because SHE, an individual, is unlikable. Hopefully, that changes soon.
Well I want him to be a villain but he needs to be more resourceful and skilled than Oliver and Malcolm combined, and since he has grey hair, he should be more experienced
Yes, i get your point. But, maybe with these upcoming storylines with her, maybe she'll get right back to the way her character was in season 1, which is a tough lawyer who always went for the bad guys to put them away. I also like the fact that she is going to ask the vigilante for help, which she tried to turn him in, i now she should not have blamed him for Tommy's death. I feel she is going to turn around and realize that the arrow is not the enemy. Plus, people should not hate her for the lack of storylines she deserves and how her character is being written. All this falls on the writers part. I blame them for doing this to her character and now she getting hate from all over. It is not fair to the actress that is playing the character.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Slade :D

ReplyDeleteDoes any know/remember who Maya Resik is? I remember reading the name but I don't remember what was so special about her in the episode.

ReplyDeleteMe too. We know she can fight and knows some type of martial arts. Remember in the club when she beat up those guys? I loved that...

ReplyDeleteGood for Laurel. She deserves some attention on the show after all she is a regular. Slade... give me more.. Is there not much action in this episode?

As long as she actually gets to do something. And be interesting.
ReplyDeleteI am sure we'll find out.
ReplyDeleteAmen. That's everything in a nutshell right there.
