I'm just gonna vote awesome, b/c i love this show. But i probably caught five minutes if that. I'll give a much more thorough comment tomorrow or later on tonight, after watching it again. (my head is so full of Arrow, it's 11:10pm and i'm still thinking about that episode).
This felt like an ordinary episode, in that it felt calm. It's either that, or it just paled in comparison to the packed midseason finale of Arrow. I cannot get over that episode.
For some reason my DVR did not record it, had to go on line..FANTASTIC ep. John is still my favorite character. Wow, when Morgan was shot I said WTH, but I am thinking if she does finally get killed it will push uncle over to TTPs side.
This was a good episode for me - not as strong as Thanatos, but I enjoyed it. On the whole this is a *good* show which occasionally frustrates me because it could be *great* and I'm occasionally left wishing the writing were a little cleaner, a little more show-don't-tell, and a little more consistent in portraying character journeys and characterizations. The actors clearly have it. They're great. They bring it and I love that.
My biggest gripe - the way they write Russell. I wish they could move past always using him as the reason plans don't go well. It's insulting, kind of lazy writing, and creates a one-note character when you've got an awesome actor in Aaron to work with. For the record, I'd feel insulted if they pigeonholed any character into the role they are giving Russell - I'm just especially insulted that he is the one Asian character on the show.
You know what I would like to see? After John had his confrontation with Jedikiah a few episodes back where John told him they were done running and were going to fight instead. I want to see that. I kind of want The Tomorrow People to go to war with Ultra, as improbably as it may be. Secret jumps into limbo land aren't raising the stakes for me enough.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI like Cora's current status of love for Stephen that caring attitude kinda reminds me of how Katniss is with Peeta.

ReplyDeleteConsidering it was a midseason finale, it was rather disappointing. I expected a lot more of it.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree about Russell. They definitely need to give him better material.

ReplyDeleteYou should definitely watch the promo for the next episode then. It looks like what you said in your comment is what happens next.
ReplyDeleteI'll go check it out. :)
