    I'm genuinely sick of Barry, he is simply a quirky character with less life in him than a Barbie doll. I cringe everytime I hear his theme music.


    Kinda dissapointed that Malcom already left


    They didn't really need to cover Slades face first, Manus voice is too significant for that. But I'm glad he's alive and okay. BUT he has a stupid wardrobe


    overall the episode was 'eh'


    the only thing that made me cheer internally was Oliver seeing Tommy

    I heard a lot of ambulances outside. I think many of my fellow Olicity shippers died tonight. The autopsy will reveal serious overdose of feelings, which resulted in screaming, probably a little flailing, and then dying with a smile on their faces.

    Dude!! I'm rewinding TTP like crazy, b/c I was SO BLOWN AWAY!!! By what we just saw....My head is spinning!!! That was....F*UCK!!! That was so badass. It SUCKS that we have to wait a month!!! Season 2 is just WOW!! If it's like this now....Season 3 is gonna put me in the hospital!! Omg...i gotta breathe. I'll be back when TTP is over.

    The anticipation is killing me, too!!!! Season 3 will drive me to scream like Randy was chased in the Scream movies if the quality continues to be strong! Tomorrow, the Scandal finale will air and I hope this winter finale of it is just as crazy as Arrow was tonight! I compare those two because those are two of my favorite dramas!

    Amazing episode!

    The reveal that Slade is behind Sebastian's maneuvering was brilliant. I am so excited to see where this will go! This will not be easy for Oliver.

    I teared up so much when I saw Tommy's ghost even if it was for a few seconds. "I know I called you a murderer, but you are not. You are a hero". God, I miss him so much.

    "Even the Arrow deserves a Christmas present!"
    Loved that line.

    Once again, my Olicity heart was raging tonight! When she put on Oliver's mask and the hug at the end!!!! That just made me smile so hard.

    I have to be honest, I'll miss Barry working with the Arrow team. He had a great dynamic with them.

    The final scene was awesome! I loved how it played out and it just makes me want The Flash show even more!

    I can't wait till this fantastic show comes back in January. Like Stephen said "I swear to god, we are just getting started."

    The one issue I do have: I hope their is more to Oliver and Slade becoming enemies than just Shado's death. I hate when friendships break over a girl in tv. Its a damn good starting point, but I hope they have Slade and Ollie still friends on the island for a while whilst butting heads.


    Also, why the fuck lie to Slade about how Shado died? Even if you do end up confessing the truth later, he will NEVER trust you again after being lied to like this. It was a pointless lie at that. He would have accepted the truth.

    I think Sarah was afraid Slade would kill them too if he found out, right then. I expect Slade Sarah and Oliver will be working together on the island for a while before Slade finally find out what happened to Shado and things go really bad between Oliver and Slade.

    Oh boy...what are you doing now?? Something to keep you busy i hope. I'll tell u this much, there weren't that many commercials. You'll kinda feel like the episode went too fast. But it didn't. It had a great rhythm. Can't wait for you to see it. I'm excited for you! And anyone else that has to wait.

    Is there an option above awesom? Because that's what the episode was. I think this was the best episode they've done this season maybe even for the series. Everything about it was perfect. All of the Island flashbacks worked to advance the plot.

    We got the Oliver/Diggle bromance in full effect. The Team Arrow + Barry scenes were great. The Tommy Ghost scene was beautiful and made me cry...I still miss him. The Olicity stuff was great but I didn't need jealous Felicity. However, they made up for it with the Slade Monologue and the hug.

    The Thea/Roy/Sin scenes were made of win, I love this team up.

    Slade wouldn't have killed them. He would have understood, and focused his rage on Ivo and all of those loyal to him.

    I thought there was little blatant Olicity, or what there was once again came from Felicity. But the voice over at the end made them canon. It would have been so easy to show Laurel there, especially as Blood is already corrupting her, but they showed Felicity instead.


    But yeah, lots of fanfic, especially bad fanfic I fear.

    Lying to Slade is definitely going to come back and bite them in the ass. However I don't know if he would have been okay with the truth either. If Oliver told Slade that Ivo gave him a choice Oliver picked Sarah (even if it was accidentally or unknowingly) Slade would probably go nuts.

    It was a great episode to go into hiatus on. So many things set up.


    Roy's shooting was justified, Diggle was great as a mentor, and even Barry proved his worth. I thought it was funny how Felicity's reaction to finding out about Shado mirrored Shado's finding out about Sara.

    Thank you. I mean i know this is the "spoiler site" but not everyone on this site wants to be spoiled. And i REFUSE, to spoil one person, and then getting someone else upset b/c they accidentally read my post. As much as i love the fanbase (for all my shows) I can't give them spoilers. It's a rule i've had for yrs. My friends used to get so mad at me about that. But over the yrs they've gotten used to it. And then they thank me when i don't answer their questions. B/c be surprised, to me, that's the best part. It's like watching a Sports game after it's aired live, and you want to see the game, then someone calls you up and tells you your team lost. Takes all the fun out of it.

    Awesome episode. I enjoyed seeing the three ghosts and I was racking my brain on trying to figure out who the third ghost would be, and I was pleasantly surprised to see it was Tommy. Oliver's dead best friend giving him the boost he needed to kick the crap out of Cyrus! Totally bad ass!


    The reveal with Slade was interesting and good, but I do wish we had been kept in the dark a bit longer about Slade's apparent death. Curious if he's working with the H.I.V.E. or not, as that was where I was expecting him to come into the present day from. It was really weird seeing him in a suit as opposed to the soldier garb he's been wearing on the island. Poor Shado though. I wonder how long (island-time) before Slade finds out what really happened, cause that's really the only thing I can think of why Slade wants to destroy everything around Oliver.


    Barry was nice too, and set up his own show nicely. Curious if he'll cross over with Arrow anymore with his show coming up sometime.

    If they don't word it right, yeah he'd go nuts. Simply say Ivo tried to make him choose between Shado and Sara, and he decided to offer himself instead but Ivo wouldn't have it and killed Shado.


    The truth, in a way where Ollie can't be held at fault. Yes, Slade would be angry, and he'd possibly attack them in grief... but better that than whats going to happen now.

    I don't trust past!Sarah. These past few episodes it felt like she was keeping an eye on Ollie and the others for Ivo. Maybe she's trying to turn Oliver and Slade against each other. After all, she is no angel and does join the League of Assassins yet.

    enjoyable ep that introduced some good things: aka the looong overdue mask, and furthering the island tales and what eventually led to the fallout between Oliver and Slade as well as establishing that Slade is the evil mastermind to this season's arc. Not sure how to take a seemingly superpowered Roy, but will le the writers work their magic. I'm still on the fence about this version of Barry Allen, but will see how his evolution into the Flash goes ( I figured that the particle accelerator would play into his origin, but the writers paid homage to the comic version with the lightning and the chemical bath - nice touch)..... I get that they were setting things in motion for a backdoor pilot before, but his whole arc felt forced to me and required quite a bit of disbelief suspension... bummer for Det Lance's old partner, but they really hardly used Roger Cross anyway... can't wait to see where the rest of the season goes from here

    it was teh ebst episode of teh season, so much happened OMFG, Barry getting his powers at the end, wa great, Slade alive i knew that was coming since season one i always thought one of tyhem was alive, and Slade is coming for Revenge ! i can wait to see that final Figth between the two, Roy also getting his powers was kind of cool from now on Oliver need to watch out for the guy cause he knows the effect he is going to have

    FREAKING AWESOME. Damn, I rarely get this excited over shows anymore, but ARROW has just gotten so damn good! So much stuff to look forward to when it gets back. I really hope the Flash pilot goes well; I want the show to tie in with Arrow next season! :D

    * I'm thinking Lance just might become detective again.
    * I need more Sara Lance back in the present.
    * I liked Shado. :( :(
    * I wonder how exactly Ollie and Roy's relationship will be affected. Would he go solo instead of becoming Arrow's sidekick first?
    * I want Blood gone. GONE. Just because.
    * Laurel's back, and... eh. I'm trying to cut back on the negativity, because I know she's meant to be BC and Ollie's wifie, but so far, I don't have much nice things to say.
    * I teared up when Tommy's ghost showed up. I knew he was gonna be in the episode, so I don't know why my hormones acted up lol
    * I guess Deathstroke was too good a character to just kill off, especially given his history on the show; also, I still think Ollie think he killed Slade on the island (arrow through his eye). How he survived and got out is the question. (I liked the hallucination scene with him more, though. :D)
    * I also loved the scenes at the end.. except maybe the bit with Oliver and Felicity. Don't get me wrong, I like those two and think they look really adorable together, but the mask scene felt odd.

    Another question that constantly pops into my head is how much more happened on the island and Ollie. Each season = 1 year's worth of flashbacks on the island (so far). 5 years, 5 seasons (hope we get more), but at this rate, will Ollie run out of guests on the island soon, or will there be more new ones, and will he maybe get off the island again (onto another ship like the Amazo) at some point? That would be great, really: more opportunities to introduce more DC myths and stuff. Also, they haven't explored Ollie's relationship with Anatoli on the ship yet; there's gotta be more to it right? I mean he became freakin' fluent in Russian, fcs.

    ya seems like Ivo will tell them what why he killed her, about their being a choice when Slade kills him. And this starts them being enemy on top of the serum effect. Man I really liked them 2 being friends. I hope after some showdown this season or whenever, later there is a bigger enemy that allies them together again!

    Thiis was "ok".
    Still better than most TV, but I was terribly underwhelmed by it.
    Mainly because they tried to cram like 3 episodes into 1.
    They gave no time for bombshells to sink in & feel them.
    It was literally "heres this shocker, now heres another, and another" they didn't give the viewers any time to actually process what happened.
    Roy gets juiced
    Shado killed
    Slade alive & evil
    Lucas killed
    Barry gets his powers
    Oliver gets a mask
    They shoved all this into 1 episode. Most of those things should have gotten a full episode, and at the least 1/2 an episode, instead, they all got 1-2 minutes each.
    This should have been enough for 3 episodes, and it should have BEEN 3 episodes, instead of the run on storyline they duct taped together & threw at us.

    Just when I think I can't love this show more, it surprises me again.
    Tommy's ghost!
    Slade is the big bad!
    Laurel has a purpose now, I can see Blood turning against Slade and helping Oliver stop Slade to protect her.
    Barry is the Flash now! We're going to see an all-grown-up-with-responsibilities Barry when his spin-off starts.
    Oliver told Diggle and Felicity about Shado and Slade!
    Sara standing up to protect Oliver!
    Thea, Sin, and Roy are fun together!
    I am sad about Shado's death and I will miss her but at the same time, I'm also okay with it. Much more okay with it than I am with Carter's death on POI.

    They showed Slade's face a minute after? And the reveal that he's on Starling City was still epic even though I knew it was him from looking at his hand and hearing his voice. I didn't expect this reveal before the end of this season.
    And sorry, but I love Barry already.

    Isn't it funny how Slade has a list now too? Oliver went after people in his father's list, Slade is going after people close to Ollie. I can't wait till Ollie finds out, then he will really have to open up and start explaining what happened between them on the island.

    Oliver was in shock and I don't know if he wanted to lie to Slade, but Sara did. She doesn't really know Slade, knows he is supposed to have super-strength now, and the woman he loved just died when Oliver tried to save them from dying. Her instinct was to try and protect Oliver too.

    I thought Oliver jumped in front of the gun that was held against Sara at that moment, I didn't think he jumped to protect Sara but to protect both of them. I guess the problem is that Oliver didn't say "take me instead of them."

    Also, we didn't really see much of Shado teaching Ollie Chinese either. Would someone else also arrive to teach him or should we assume she taught him Chinese during those five months she, Oliver, and Slade were alone together on the island?

    Some people do not feel confident to express their opinions online (because of all the bullying that happens when you do- as showed by all this down votes on a person's opinion), so they use the up and down votes for that. I myself never vote down unless I see something that is offensive but I usually vote up to express my agreement - because a post saying "agree" is just useless when there is such a tool.

    I share your worries concerning Felicity, but what I like about her is that she doesn't pine over Oliver. She like Barry, so she will get out with him, she is not sitting around waiting for Oliver to come around. But I really hope that they tone it down, too.

    Honestly I hope this is about more than just Shado...the whole love triangle came a little bit out of the left field in the first place (yes, I know, a lot of people were predicting it, but I think they were mostly predicting it because of spoiler hints and the fact that this is CW than based on what was actually there in the show), and making it now the motivation for Slade turning against Oliver would be very contrived in my eyes. There has to be more than that.

    I don't think he did...he offered himself for both of them. It was Ivo who interpreted it as "choice". But Oliver would have reacted the some way if Shado had the one about to get shot.

    Agree...for me, Season one started out as "okay" and only picked up when Felicity joined the team. It made for an interesting dynamic, but it was also around the time Thea got better storylines than just "spoiled teen" and Moira's motivation became clearer. Since then Arrow has become better and better, though I hope that some of the stuff they apparently dropped will turn up at one point...like the list and the mysterious woman from season one.

    The list dropped out because Oliver realized he misunderstood its meaning. It was the list of those that helped the Undertaking, and for all Oliver knows, The Undertaking is old news now and the list doesn't matter anymore.
    As for the mysterious woman from the island storyline, I'm sure we'll get an answer to it eventually, but I'm not sure if it'll be this season.

    Yes, but having a list of people who were corrupt enough to be involved in the undertaking is handy nevertheless. You just have to weed out the ones whose motivation was fear from the ones who did it for their own gain.

    The list members were not active part of the Undertaking, they did not know about it. They were contacts Malcolm used to get more resources for his lovely project, but they weren't in on the secret. That was made clear at the 3 last episodes of last season. Thus, there's nothing to check about their motivations, Most of them are bad guys but Oliver has more bad guys to go after, where there are actually lives he can protect.

    This episode was beyond awesome! It's was perfect!!!
    I was sure Slade was still alive and I hoped Shado was too.

    Finally Oliver has a mask :) it was getting a little obvious that people would recognize him without one. I loved all the Olicity moments and Tommy coming back as an hallucination even just for a few minutes. And the final scene with Barry, it just makes me want to see The Flash tv show, like now.



    January seems so far away after an epic episode like that!

    It was an ok episode. I totally understand Oliver getting upset with felicity about telling Barry his secret. At the same time I totally do not trust the writers of this show to totally make Barry a good guy when we see him become Flash. I loved Tommy coming in and telling Oliver "you have a job to do now suck it up and do it" I have to be honest they could hurry up with the whole Roy becoming red arrow already. The Felicity/Oliver hug was great I still have hope for them. Overall it was ok. January can't get here fast enough.

    The show is trying to create enough storylines for the long run, and I'm fine with not everything being resolved in a few episodes.
    Finding Isabel's name on the list will be more relevant when we find out more about the history she has with Moira, and about whether she's a bad girl or not. According to the showrunners, Isabel is not one of the big bads of this season, so who knows, she might end up being a grey character or a pawn in Slade's game in the long run.

    The opening was a little slow, but by the end it was awesome.
    I feel like they cheated by giving Roy Mirakuru, but I am they had to fast-track him becoming Red Arrow.
    Really sad that Shado died, I liked her.
    Slade is in Starling City. What?!?!

    I hope so too. Shado will likely be a huge piece of Slade's anger, but I'm hoping to see some more things pop up for the rest of the season to show why Slade turns on Oliver. And you're right, the whole love triangle thing did just pop up this season and it seems mainly there to be the catalyst for Slade's turn against Oliver.

    I cried like a baby when Tommy came on. That was so great! This show is blowing my mind! I have always liked it but never thought it had the potential to be what it is now! Ever week is better and better!!! Wow Wow Wow! I felt guilty putting awesome cause this was as you said EPIC!

    I am still one of the few that likes Laurel so the only thing for me they could improve on is injecting some redemption for her and taking her out of the victim state she is stuck in right now. While this reaction is valid for what she has been through, I really want her character to grow like Tommy did for me last season.

    Great to see Tommy again. His motivational speech was what Oliver needed all along, as he was released from survivor's guilt.


    BTW, it was an awesome scene when Barry got hit by the lightning. Can't wait to see him as the Flash, the first superhero with real superpower.

    Yeah I have a feeling im going to be resenting him more and more, especially when they said his presence is going to be felt in throughout the remaining. And I dont want them to constantly use Felicity to talk about him either.

    Its a shame because The Flash is one of my favourite superheroes, thought the actor is decent, he just isnt Barry to me. Something about him says miscast.

    The chemistry worked because it wasnt forced and it was natural in the first episodes of the first season now I feel like Im watching a fanfiction that is overly directed with Emily & Stephen trying to act. They showrunners just dont know when to have limits and boundaries.


    And they have made me even dislike barry more by using him to prop Oliver/Felicity.

    Y'know, I would prefer some pining from her part, it would at least be from her own volition. Obviously nothing too obvious, just a hint that her feelings might be evolving. Pining might not be the word for what I mean tho, I just want them to show how deeply Felicity has come to care about Ollie in a nice, nuanced manner.


    I just really hate when other characters come around to drop the bombs "You totally have a thing for that guy" It's just too blatant and it robs the character (Felicity in this case) the opportunity of realizing those feelings on her own.


    And it about just not trusting the audience to catch hints; they just made a character basically yell "OLICITY IS A THING" and that is just lame writing. Olicity worked so well cause their interaction was cute and it had potential; but I'm just seeing that instead of fullfilling that potential organically, they are just slapping the ROMANTIC INTEREST tag, and that never works. it's just bad writing.

    Yeah, using Barry to "point it out", instead of having Ollie or Felicity noticing/doing something is just cheap. SHOW, DON'T TELL. Show us how their relationship might be romantic, the moments, the interactions (just like it had been) not just grab a mouthpiece to say OLICITY IS A THING. We don't need a character to tell us the stuff, you have to show us. You's think they would have learn with Laurel but nope.


    That is just bad writing for me and a disservice for the characters.

    They really don't have to spell it out, like they used poor Barry for(what a disservice to, til that part, was a solid character). Olicity worked because of their chemistry and interactions, we don't need the writers throwing blatant foreshadowing at us.

    This episode was great to me, but I have to agree about 2 things: Barry's "goofy" theme music is really annoying (if anything, it contributes to him looking like a kid), and the Slade reveal was dumb because once we heard his voice, it was obvious. He was on screen 5 minutes before FFS. They should have shown his face as soon as he spoke.

    LMFAO!!!! That was funny, thank you. Now that i've slept, and got some of my brain in a stable condition, i can post a thorough comment. Ya know, there really should be an EPIC option!! (Who makes this site, i think we should start a petition, create an EPIC option lol) There's a few Laurel fans left? Could've fooled me. Haha Sorry i am in the 80% (if not 90) that can't stand her. However, as I said in a poll earlier on what should be done with her character, i voted "Write her a different storyline and keep Sara as BC"...for me personally, i tried ALL of first season to like her, and it just didn't happen, so it's not going to by this point. And the fact that i tried all of season 1, well let's just say i was being very generous. B/c i really did want to like her.

    What a brilliant episode. Amazing. Arrow gets better and better with each episode and I feel like a broken record saying the same thing again and again. excellent episode.


    Like someone said in internet we got origin stories of Flash, Deathstroke, Roy Harper, Solomon Grundy all in one episode. What a brilliant series. Proud to be a fan.
