Yay! At least I'll have this show for a full season.
ReplyDeleteOoh, awesome! Now I can start watching this show.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy right now!
ReplyDeleteWhat? I liked the show, but this was the lowest rated comedy and ABC give full order to it, but didn't to BITG. I am confused.
ReplyDelete...crap. Well I'll make sure it won't make it survive the season.
ReplyDeleteYESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI AM SOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes! Yes! Yes!
ReplyDeleteI just read the deadlinr article and I have new found respect for the show. It apparently has almost no promotion and airs with no marketing promotion. Somehow and someway the ratings are sort of justified. All of this shocked me considering its the only ance owned comedy of the bunch
ReplyDeleteDidn't you say that about The Neighbors and yet it stands this season. Hmmm....
ReplyDeleteKay, lemme dice it for you. You are not a good Cancellation Bear, you are besmirching a name that stands for something far greater and that it might not even exist on a interactive form.
ReplyDeleteThe cancellation bear is greater than life itself, it exists beyond our human comprehension; it's ouvre only to behold, it motivations hidden from us. You feeble attempts at humor and levity are sacrilegious at best.
Surprised and happy. While the last 2 episodes weren't as funny as the first couple, I like how this show combines laughs and heart. That's very rare in comedy these days.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy, it hasn't been as instantly funny as my fave new comedy B99 but it is certainly improving every episode and I love Burt and Warren especially.
ReplyDeleteIt's my favorite comedy this fall, by far. It gets a lot of harsh criticism, but I find Ackerman super charming, and her relationship with her husband is cute, who cares about age difference? It's not too drastic at least. And the ex wives are both fantastic too, the kids are hit and miss with humor but I like them anyway.
ReplyDeleteOverall I find the show pretty hilarious and I laugh out loud several times per episode, but what makes me really love it is that most of the actors convey that these characters have a relationship and with each other, and they mostly seem to love/like each other. It's the most underrated show this season IMO.
And people call me crazy?
ReplyDeleteVery surprised and happy about this.
ReplyDeleteThis is great news! :)
ReplyDeleteIf anyone is wondering why, per Deadline:
''While the lowest rated among the four first-year ABC comedies,Trophy Wife – which drew a 1.4 this week — is the only one without an established lead-in, the only one owned by ABC, and it has a lot of support at the network. The Malin Akerman starrer also has been airing with virtually no marketing support.''
These are very good news!! I watched the pilot and liked it, but then stopped because I thought it was as good as dead
ReplyDeleteThey are, however, surprising, because I thought ABC would let go of Trophy Wife instead of this one. I should have learned already that ABC will always save its ABC studios comedies from the its freshman pack. I don't know why I keep making the same mistake. It's the Happy Endings vs. Better with You and The Neighbors vs. How to Live all over again. As long as the ratings differential is small, the own-studios comedy will get picked up, that much is clear now. I doubt ABC will move the pair to Wednesdays though, they are likely o try to make them grow on Tuesday!
I am sure it is the reason. ABC has a history with this:
ReplyDelete- Happy Endings vs. Better with You and Mr. Sunshine
- The Neighbors vs. How to Live
- Trophy Wife vs. Back in the Game
The comedies on the left were all renewed while the comedies on the right were cancelled despite the fact that the comedies on the left had lower ratings. I think that as long as the ratings differential is not large enough, ABC will always pick its own comedies from the pack, it's the only thing these 3 situations have in common.
You know not the meaning of insanity and despair *otherworldly evilish cackle*
ReplyDeleteYES!
ReplyDeleteIt means more Jackie! haha!
Great decision. TP is the best new comedy so far.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite new comedies were Welcome to the Family and The Goldbergs, but Trophy Wife is third. It was also the bigest surprise for me. You really can't judge it by its unfortunate title. What all three of these have in common is the heart and like you said, it really feels like they love/like each other in the end. I am sick of comedies where the entire humor is based on insulting people, raunchiness, and stupid human tricks. This year we've been given a trio that break out of that mindset and I really hope that Goldbergs and Trophy Wife make it to a second season. It would be a refreshing change for comedies in general.
