ReplyDeletethis isn't surprising at all. The Goldbergs has been relatively okay in the ratings and was steady despite it's lead-in dropping rapidly as a repeat.

ReplyDeleteOh im happy about this one, it`s my favorite new comedy of this season! it`s doing steady the ratings hasnt drop that much i tought they will choose BITG and TG but BITG was canceled i mean really¿?

ReplyDeleteI watched a couple of episodes, it was okay but not very funny, more cute than anything. I gotta say I support ABC's decisions except SFN maybe.
ReplyDeleteThis one was expected! This Tuesday appears to have sealed its fate in the battle against BITG and I maintain that it has a much harder timeslot than Back in the Game does.

Except for the random week 3, The Goldbergs actually had the lead. In the last 4 episodes, they have basically the same average. Remember, when it comes down to such marginal differences, it will not be that ratings difference that determines which one gets it and which one doesn't. Issues such as the rounding error and margin of error make those differences meaningless. It comes down to other factors such as skew and which show shows the most promise to grow. I've maintained that Back in the Game had a very good timeslot and was still pulling the same ratings as TG in an easier timeslot - it appeas that ABC thought so as well.
Yeah, I was mistaken, but still BITG had been pretty stable.
ReplyDeleteSo was the goldbergs. Ratings between 1.6 and 1.9, which was what it got followings it initial two weeks were pretty stable. Remember, variations of 0.1 or even 0.2 are often meaningless due to margin of error and rounding error, as I was commenting before. There is virtually no difference between that and the 1.8-1.9 range in which Back in the Game was for the last 4 episodes. Neither of them were in a "declining" trend.
