I loved seeing Abaddon again. She is such a bad ass villain and I am hoping we will see more of her. My jaw dropped when I saw Sam with the shadow of angel wings. So cool. Awww, at Dean telling Kevin that he is family. I love how Dean always looks out for him.
This season is already becoming one of my favorites. Hopefully it can keep up.
I have to mention I really liked having a new shot of the Impala on the road. Haven't had any in a while. It makes it feel a bit more like the first seasons of the show.
I loved it. Abaddon is the most formidable villain we've seen in quite some time and there were some really sweet moments in it too. Ezekiel telling Dean that Sam knows that he loves him and Sam loves him back, Dean telling Kevin that he's family. Feels overload! Plus, can we ever go wrong with the delicious Mark Sheppard as Crowley? He's amazing.
SWEET LORD.This was one of the best episodes EVER :O !!!The action, the dram EVERYTHING!!!That Ezekiel scene WOW.The Wings!!!Aaaaaaaaaaaa!!!I loved the talk he had with Dean!!!And how he said "What you did,you did because of love".And Dean called him Zeke!!!And the end guys...the end...what Dean said to Kevin about family I CRIED!!!But what topped it off was the brotherly TALK.MOTHER OF ALL BROTHERLY TALKS :') I am so happy Sam feels good!!!I almost broke my screen when that Tracy talked sh!t about him and he felt so guilty.AMAZING EPISODE!!Going to rewatch it 435623 times!!
Welp, there are the first manly tears of the season from me. Dean telling Kevin they were family and Kevin's reaction brought some tears to my eyes.
Zeke's quickly hopping up my favorite character list. Jared is such a fantastic actor, it's so easy to tell the difference between Zeke and Sam because Jared acts a lot different in both roles. I really hope Zeke stays for most of the season.
Crowley is still at his best. I think the new slightly more human side of his has changed his character enough to work with Sam and Dean. He still screwed with Kevin's head so his asshole/manipulative side is there, but it's certainly better. I hope he becomes a sort of Cas season 4 character, who was good, but was kind of a dick.
Speaking of Cas, the complete lack of him was good in this episode. This means Misha is only missing 3 more episodes this season and he really wasn't needed this episode.
Kevin is really developing this season, I loved what he did with that policewoman and how he talked to Abaddon, but I really feel scared we might lose him this season. Abaddon has a vague idea of who he is, which makes him a target.
Abaddon was in top form as usual. I assume she's the big bad of season 9, and even if she probably doesn't make a lot of appearances, the ones she will are gonna be fun. Her little speech to Dean gave me chills and was probably my favorite scene.
As for Tracy, I don't know if we'll run into her again, but I wouldn't mind if she appeared in a future episode or two. She seemed like an alright character.
Next week's gonna be fun with the very Cas-Centric episode, and I'm super excited to see his new love interest, especially since it is the lovely Shannon Lucio
This episode was amazing...but i missed Cas terribly!! Looks like next week will be making up for that! But my favorite scenes of the night, hands down had to be Zeke coming out and spreading his wings, that was badass!!! Loved the effects on that one. And when Kevin pulled up the dirty on that cop. Good move Kev!! That was awesome!!
It is certainly interesting to see a villan with an entirely different take on how demons should be handling there role in the bigger picture. The creep factor of whacked out Crowley/loose cannon Kevin/not in the driver's seat Sam/only guy in on the bigger pictue Dean was pretty heavy. It will be interesting to see how Castiel fits into that setting. None of this even factors in whatever may be going on in Heaven. Very interesting.
OK, I doing a happy dance, 2 eps in a row that were awesome. Sam with Zeke's wings was so hot..Good solid ep, hoping for 3 in a row. Abaddon is a good villain and looking forward to seeing her and Crowley together, that should be some great action.
Wow, I actually liked this very, very much. Abbadon is amazingly bad ( I loved her speech to the demons!), Crowley trying to play Kevin and almost succeeding, Sam as Ezekiel I found better than last weekend when he seemed too robot-like for my taste. They addressed most of the stuff that people very wondering and complaining about - as if they collected complaints from different parts of fandom and tried to fix it in one episode:P.
It was great that they mentioned Lucifer and the past things.
The image of burnt wings didn't work for me but I liked the idea of it. It just seemed too much - as the transformation from Sam to Ezekiel - is he really that powerful? is he healed already then? I didn't like the two hunters - all the time I was thinking that sth was off with them, especially since only two soldiers appeared at the beginning.
Fight between Abbadon and Dean was great, though I wished he mentioned remembering hell. I don't know what to think about Ezekiel. I don't think he's bad but they making him to much Cas 2.0 but better - powerful, good, perceptive, trying to not make him feel guilty and complimenting Dean and he got nickname already. It is good that they have him as an ally, but I don't want him to replace Castiel. (just IMO)
Talk between Kevin and Dean was very moving even if it seemed to me a bit out of nowhere - I mean I never saw they that much close. But It is good that Dean included him because he's really alone (if his mother is really dead) and they went through much. Brotherly angst wasn't that bad andit is nice to see Sam finally happy. But I'm wondering what made him be that much of an optimist.
I was wondering about Crowley - the idea of torture as leaving him on him own is great but since it is the tortures that makes human soul a demon, wouldn't it slowly reverse the residual effects of the unfinished curing?
Dean is happy and unhappy - nothing new but I liked the way they included it. And I always like the way JA shows Dean's emotions.
Overall, although I think they tried to put too much in one episode. I loved it and can't wait till next week. :) From what I saw tonight, maybe we dodn't need to fear it ;)
just Loved it the wing part was way too Awesome so love that. I am starting to trust Ezekiel in Sam I just do not want it to turn bad and hoping it does not and Dean talking to Kevin AWWW SO SWEET! love that one and the Sam being fine now part and Dean's look at the end got me because of what will happen if Sam finds out I do hope he is ok with but will get alitte pissed off so I am waiting for that to happen but good Ep anyway.
Well, you can, but you may not understand the plot, or the characters. If you really want to understand the storyline, you need to watch it from the beginning :) Believe me, seasons go fast!
This was an awesome episode. So it should be. Carver has repaired all the injuries from seasons 6 and 7 and now we forge ahead and I'm loving it. I love how Dean works so hard to care for his family....Sam, Cas, and Kevin. I just hope Crowley gains no control over the Bunker.
Yup. The guilt was written all over his face. He knows his brother was ready to die and now he's suddenly happy and he's wondering how much Ezekiel has to do with that. Heartbreaking.
Ok if i am being honest this episode was TERRIBLE ....................
PML just joking ! ..No in all seriousness i felt as though the "bat cave " is a kinda boring place it took some of the tense'n out of the episode until they talked to Crowley ,then it got kinda flat for me ... I was praying it would pick up because the trailer i saw was awsome ...But god answered my prayers lol it kicked ass ! the seconded half of the episode..I loved the army truing into demons,Sam blasting his wings , dean flirting with Abaddon, Tracey she's interesting , seeing some fighting (even though they got there but's kicked)..But if i am being honest sam used to be a better fighter , i douno maby he''s rusty , yes dean got his ass kicked to but he was fighting "a knight of hell" ...FYI i aint picking on Sam before people start i do think he was just a bit rusty ....Also just out of hospital so...Abaddon omg i have a total girl crush on her haha and she is the best ! baddy since Lucifer they better not pull a s6 and kill her like they did with Eve half way through the season... Ezekiel hmm douno weather or not i trust him he seem's legit however is he Lucifer ? hmm when he said " i suppose i would say that" i say a bit of Lucifer...
I was thought that once all the cation had finished and they headed to my less favorite place "the bat cave" that it would get flat , but when dean gave the speech to Kevin my eyes watered up ! no lie...Then i liked the wee talk with sam and dean about sam felt bad about the whole "ending the world" .I didn't like how it ended though , it seems to always end with ether sam and dean in the car or in the "bat cave" i wish they would change it up a bit , maby put a cliffhanger at the end.
So on the whole it was a good episode , last week's i gave 8/10 ..This week i give it 8.8/10
I keep wondering how cast, writers & crew can make the show any better, but tonight's episode was better than last week's, which was awesome. There was greatness on so many levels beginning with "Zeke" (love that Dean calls him that) coming out (with wings and those amazing blue 'angel" eyes) to save Sam, Abbadon threatening Dean that she would take over his body and make sure he was aware of all the horrible things she would do in his body, Dean telling Kevin he wanted him to stay because they were "family" and that they would die for him, Kevin beating up on Crowley but not letting him go, Abbadon's speech to the demons (and we thought Crowley was a horse's rear). And next week we get to see HUMAN Cas trying to cope. Can't wait. This season is AWESOME!!!!
Pretty good episode. Still withholding any optimism for the show since Season 7 had the first 2 episodes be extremely solid and then the rest of the season (except for Death's Door) suck pretty bad. Still hate more secrets, seriously, how many times can you rehash the brother secrets?
Liked Crowley messing with Kevin, Mark Sheppard is great at that. Kevin, I'm so glad he didn't let Crowley go and didn't end up dying. I never expected him to stick around this long, and Dean's right, he's family now.
I felt the same way about S7. The first two - I would even say I didn't hate TGND though it set up that pointless, waste of time Amy arc - episodes were excellent. I thought the season was going to be great, but then it all went downhill after TGND. I didn't even like DD. I thought Plucky's was a good episode but that was about it.
I really enjoyed it, especially that amazing scene between Abbadon & Dean. She really spooked me, and no demon moment has done that to me in years. And very cool angel moment. I thought I wouldn't like it but I'm still on board the story. I loved what Dean said to Kevin - it was really needed. The lack of any relief for him was getting painful after the last 2. (But man, there were about 3 chick flick moments in this episode. I hope they tone it down for awhile before the next one.) A lot to love in this episode!
the one that was twisted in 4x22 "Lucifer Rising".While the original voicemail had Dean saying sorry to Sam and reaching out to him the twisted one refered to Sam as a vampire,a monster that had to be put down.
One of the worst episodes ever, from trivial details like Abbbadon's nail polish and make-up apparently being restored along with her body (tohugh not her clothes, apparently) to the colossally idiotic trap/attack sequence. Really? Three demons possessing Special Forces guys, and the best they can come up with is, "let them go in and release the other hunters [why are they even still alive?] and then walk at them with guns"? *rolls eyes* There were several good moments, yes, notably the bunker scenes, but man, the main plot was badly-plotted.
This is a real opportunity for the writers to address Sam's feelings about a lot of things. That voice mail, the Samulet, so many other things. Maybe finally Sam's emotional POV will be shared with the audience. I kind of like the thought of that.
I enjoyed it, but to be honest, I've "dumbed down" my expectations, in order to keep enjoying the show. This crop of writers is mediocre compared to older seasons, and so I cut a lot of slack. I guess, if I feel entertained, and there are few canon problems, and the boys are mainly in character, I'm easily pleased. lol
Does anyone besides me think "Zeke" isn't telling Dean the whole truth (and the angel he was fighting with in the hospital garage) about 'being injured in the Fall?' Zeke had 'wings' and the angels wings who fell were burned off. Dean didn't see Zeke's wings, I think Zeke was already 'on earth' before the Fall and was injured by something or someone else. Plus there is new Promo pic - "Sam" facing forward with Shadow Wings. I saw it on Jared's twitter.
I'm not sure he can fly with those wings, they're all burned out and barely have couple of feathers left in it. It's like he only has the structure of them. maybe that's the case with all angels
You and me both. I got so excited when I heard that the Samulet would be making a reappearance and I had all sorts of ideas about how that could be done. Like say Dean goes into Sam's room at the bunker looking for something and finds it tucked away in a drawer, realizes that he took it out of the trash and has held onto it for all of this time. That would be amazing. But alas, it seems that we'll only be getting to see it on Teen Dean in the flashback episode and that doesn't really count.
That's what I'm thinking too. All of the fallen angels minus Cas because he's human now probably have the same burned up looking wings. And Zeke definitely can't fly with those crispy looking things either.
Oh that thing. Thanks for the detailed description otherwise I never would've remembered it. I just assumed they talked about off screen at some point. The amulet would be a nice touch to address at one point, but given those things happened so long ago I highly doubt they'd come up again.
i agree that the demons attack plan felt a bit stupid and made me go huh? but i thought the rest of the episode was amazing. i wouldn't call it one of the worst epsiodes ever. there's been a lot worse than this
i think i may have preffered this to last weeks. was soooo good. that abbadon dean scene was amazing and seeing sam/ezekial with the burnt wings was epic!!! bonus for extra crowley in this too and i didn't even miss cas, thats how much i was enjoying it
As long as you don't mind a few groaner episodes, start with season 1. It's one of the most frightening seasons, and the chemistry between Jensen, Jared, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan is extremely powerful.
I thought the episode was uneven, not one of the worst ever, but I'm voting you up as I don't see how your opinion deserves so many low votes.
My main complain was when the young lady hunter and the old hunter kept stopping to talk while they were being followed/shot at. How did these two survive a day as hunters?
Overall, I thought this was a solid episode. Osric Chau was fantastic. He's so good! His face when Kevin was trying to process Crowley being there...so much talent. I loved seeing smooth leader Dean, even if Ezekiel had to bail them out. Loved seeing Abaddon again, with her contempt for the candyland demons we started seeing pop up around season 5. Abaddon is a tough character to keep around long-term but they did a decent job of it so far. Everything with Crowley and Kevin was riveting to watch.
I felt like they were telling us things about Tracy, the girl hunter, instead of letting us get to know her, but the guys were both mature with her, which was a relief. I'm sorry we never got to see Sam talking with her about her parents, as that felt a little pointless.
I'm still very uneasy about everything with Ezekiel and Dean's relationship with him. It made me feel somewhat sad that Sam said this was the happiest he's been in a long time, because it made me realize just how far he's fallen and he is just trying to scrape through with getting by each day. That's now his happiest. And even that is a lie.
Jensen and Jared did a good job in their scenes together. I want to see more of how this is eating at Dean.
About time he repaired things, season 8 was the worst and you did not mention it. I will take 6 & 7 any day over 8. This year is looking awesome...so far, waiting for the other shoe to drop. lol
I'm with you..it is NOT real and a lot of things they do, in real life would be very stupid, but as long as they don't mess up canon I'm OK with it. Last season was so bad with canon I have not even bought the DVD yet..waiting for it to get much cheaper and will buy for the bonus material and to fill out my set.
I loved the show from the pilot and Papa John was outstanding, but my favorite season IS season 4 and favorite ep Swan Song from S5. But I would not have gotten as much out of the series without knowing all their back stories and there are some super eps in the early season.
I liked the episode. That being said, you make excellent points. It really bugged me when Abbadon was "reborn" with makeup and covered in ashes. What is wrong with a woman on TV without perfect makeup? I didn't mind the whole special forces thing, but leaving the tied up hunters alone was kinda dumb.
Procedural shows are not my favorite - which is basically what season 1 is. In season 2 it moves more toward a myth arc and by season 3, the seasons are just chapters in an overall story up until season 6. While I strongly recommend watching all of SPN, if you start at season 6, you can probably pick up the series with only a few questions. In a user submitted poll, the 1-5 seasons where much more popular as a favorite season than the later seasons. That being said, season 6 and 7 are weak overall but have some great individual episodes. Season 8 messed up a lot of cannon, had some pretty bad episodes, but I personally feel it moved the story to a good point. (set up Sesaon 9) So far, season 9 has been awesome and I hope it continues to stay that way.
I definitely want to see Sam kicking butt soon, but even though he feels good, I believe he's still in pretty bad shape. Zeke said it was going to take some time to repair his organs. I wonder how long it will take.
Yeah I liked those also, but my favorite comic one was French Mistake and them trying to act..I laughed until I cried. And I love when they make fun of the show, Not many people watch or in the case of the books, not many people read them. Dang I love this show. lol Alpaca in the back yard. So much to love.
Well, it's okay if you didn't like it. Maybe you'll like season two more than season one! Try it. Oh, and season 4 is my favourite, so I recomend you to watch it!
I though s8 first half sucked, but liked the second half especially the last 15mins of the final were outstanding ..But that's just me , but yeh this season does feel back on true form am touching wood
You're right - I was wrong. I've re- watched and it was evident that they were barely skeletal wings. But I still there's a reason why they showed Ezekiel's wings when they could simply have gone with the cool eye affect. It's not my theory - I read this on IMDB Supernatural - but maybe they showed his wings because they're regrowing, possibly because Zeke may unknowingly be tapping the power of Sam's soul to regenerate the wings. I know this theory is not very likely but if true-ish could have perhaps devastating impact on human vessels- imagine the weaker human vessels that could have their souls drained or destroyed by angels anxious to 'fly back to Heaven'.
"But alas, it seems that we'll only be getting to see it on Teen Dean in the flashback episode and that doesn't really count." JMO but I'd rather 'teen Dean' have taken the amulet off because he's mad at Sammy about something than see the amulet again in the FB; seeing in an FB would just infuriate me all over that the show never brought back the amulet in the first place ... Grrr! The show went to the trouble to give the amulet a touching backstory (just a random piece of jewelry that JA picked up apparently) and then turned it into a stupid "God Detector" because (per what I read years ago), Kripke intended to have the boys see/find "God" during season 5 and then discarded the plan and the amulet.
Yeah, that whole using the amulet to "find God" plot was stupid. The amulet was symbolic of the brothers' relationship, plain and simple and I hated the fact that it was shoehorned into the apocalypse storyline the way that it was. Having him throw it away knowing that it was little Sammy's gift of protection towards him just seemed so wrong. I get that he was pissed at Sam and God at the time but still. It was just a really mean thing for him to do, just throwing it out the way he did.
The real reason they got rid of it was because Jensen kept forgetting to take the metal one off before fight scenes and replacing it with the rubberized one he was supposed to wear during those and apparently almost took out an eye doing that. Why they didn't just have him wear the rubberized one all the time is beyond me.
"The real reason they got rid of it was because Jensen kept forgetting to take the metal one off before fight scenes and replacing it with the rubberized one he was supposed to wear during those and apparently almost took out an eye doing that. Why they didn't just have him wear the rubberized one all the time is beyond me" I empathize and sympathize with JA but I think you're right and why not have him routinely wear the rubber one and reserve the metal one for "static' close ups when the 'fake' would be noticeable. I have zero hope that the amulet or the changed VM will be brought up again in real time.
That's a really good point about Zeke tapping into Sam's soul to heal his wings. I never even thought of that but you just reminded me of Frontierland when Cas tapped into Bobby's soul to heal himself. Jesus, hopefully this doesn't screw with Sam's soul again. Hasn't that thing been through enough? 180 years in a cage with Lucifer and Michael and the thing was fileted raw. Now he's got an angel tapping into it. This can't be good.
That's what I was thinking about, too, Frontierland, and how severely wounded Cas healed himself sufficiently enough to pull Sam and Dean back through 150 years by tapping the power of Bobby's soul. As I said, not my theory but it could make perfect sense, or Zeke's wings could never be displayed again (to either support this 'regeneration theory' or not). I recall many fans - including me - being excited by Dabb/Loflin's 8.02 and Sam's reciting the exorcism backwards and matter-of-factly and hoping it would lead somewhere in "future" or "Flashback" episodes but the reverse exorcism was never brought up again.
Right. Or like how the first 2 episodes of season 7 Sam's hell hallucinations were off the charts creepy as hell but then later on in the season they were mostly played for comedic effect. Sometimes the follow through on this show isn't all that great.
Yes, that. I though Repo Man's "Lucifer" was more creepy that bratty but by 817 TBAI I thought Luci was down to playing juvenile pranks; so I agree the S7 Sam's hellucinations was like a Holiday toy that the writers became disinterested in.
Aaaawww, I actually kinda like most of the Ghostfacers ones. But then, the more comic episodes tend to be my faves--the rabbit's foot one, Gabriel's first episode (when he was just the Trickster), the TV-land episode, etc.
On the nails/makeup - They were done when the body Abbadon is possessing was torched. That's why they showed up along with the soot when they brought the body back.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I loved it! It was such a great episode, especially with the brotherly moments at the end.
ReplyDeleteAnd while we're there, can Ezekiel please bring up the voicemail and amulet so that can be resolved? Still not over it. FIX IT, EZEKIEL. FIX IT.
Sam's probably happy because Ezekiel's trying to fix him and make him happy, but I don't care.
Aww at what Dean said to Kevin about family. They really are one. And I'm 100% convinced Kevin's mom is still alive.
Can't wait for next week!
Awesome episode!

I know my favorite scene of the episode?

ReplyDeletePML just joking ! ..No in all seriousness i felt as though the "bat cave " is a kinda boring place it took some of the tense'n out of the episode until they talked to Crowley ,then it got kinda flat for me ...
So on the whole it was a good episode , last week's i gave 8/10 ..This week i give it 8.8/10
BRING ON NEXT WEEKS
ReplyDeleteWhat voicemail are you talking about?
ReplyDeletePretty good episode. Still withholding any optimism for the show since Season 7 had the first 2 episodes be extremely solid and then the rest of the season (except for Death's Door) suck pretty bad. Still hate more secrets, seriously, how many times can you rehash the brother secrets?
ReplyDeleteLiked Crowley messing with Kevin, Mark Sheppard is great at that. Kevin, I'm so glad he didn't let Crowley go and didn't end up dying. I never expected him to stick around this long, and Dean's right, he's family now.
Sam was fighting three demons though. He needed the assist in TM7 too b/c he was, again, fighting three demons.
ReplyDeleteHe was taking a beating though.
ReplyDeleteyeh i agree , and like i say to be fair he just like nearly died last episode lol...Just hope we see the boys kicking ass again
ReplyDeleteGreat point about the new Impala shot!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed it, especially that amazing scene between Abbadon & Dean. She really spooked me, and no demon moment has done that to me in years. And very cool angel moment. I thought I wouldn't like it but I'm still on board the story.
ReplyDeleteI loved what Dean said to Kevin - it was really needed.
ReplyDeleteIf they adress the samulet and the voicemail I'm gonna be the HAPPIEST PERSON ON THE PLANET!!! :D
ReplyDeleteOne of the worst episodes ever, from trivial details like Abbbadon's nail polish and make-up apparently being restored along with her body (tohugh not her clothes, apparently) to the colossally idiotic trap/attack sequence. Really? Three demons possessing Special Forces guys, and the best they can come up with is, "let them go in and release the other hunters [why are they even still alive?] and then walk at them with guns"? *rolls eyes*
ReplyDeleteThere were several good moments, yes, notably the bunker scenes, but man, the main plot was badly-plotted.
This is a real opportunity for the writers to address Sam's feelings about a lot of things. That voice mail, the Samulet, so many other things. Maybe finally Sam's emotional POV will be shared with the audience. I kind of like the thought of that.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed it, but to be honest, I've "dumbed down" my expectations, in order to keep enjoying the show. This crop of writers is mediocre compared to older seasons, and so I cut a lot of slack. I guess, if I feel entertained, and there are few canon problems, and the boys are mainly in character, I'm easily pleased. lol
ReplyDeleteI kind of LOVE the thought of that!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone besides me think "Zeke" isn't telling Dean the whole truth (and the angel he was fighting with in the hospital garage) about 'being injured in the Fall?' Zeke had 'wings' and the angels wings who fell were burned off. Dean didn't see Zeke's wings, I think Zeke was already 'on earth' before the Fall and was injured by something or someone else. Plus there is new Promo pic - "Sam" facing forward with Shadow Wings. I saw it on Jared's twitter.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure he can fly with those wings, they're all burned out and barely have couple of feathers left in it. It's like he only has the structure of them. maybe that's the case with all angels
ReplyDeletethe worst episode ever ? ..A guess your free to your own opinion but do you not think "bugs" was the "worst ever" LOL
ReplyDeletestart with s1 and watch all , you'll not understand it .Puls if you skip the season's your missing magic writing ! and class moments ...X
ReplyDeleteBut if you defo dont wanna , i would suggest watching s4 as that's when angles and stuff comes into it , not giving away to much but ....
ReplyDeleteYou and me both.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I'm thinking too. All of the fallen angels minus Cas because he's human now probably have the same burned up looking wings. And Zeke definitely can't fly with those crispy looking things either.
ReplyDeleteOh that thing. Thanks for the detailed description otherwise I never would've remembered it. I just assumed they talked about off screen at some point. The amulet would be a nice touch to address at one point, but given those things happened so long ago I highly doubt they'd come up again.
ReplyDeletei agree that the demons attack plan felt a bit stupid and made me go huh? but i thought the rest of the episode was amazing. i wouldn't call it one of the worst epsiodes ever. there's been a lot worse than this
ReplyDeletei think i may have preffered this to last weeks. was soooo good. that abbadon dean scene was amazing and seeing sam/ezekial with the burnt wings was epic!!! bonus for extra crowley in this too and i didn't even miss cas, thats how much i was enjoying it
ReplyDeletesamzikiel is so bad ass
ReplyDeleteWhy would you have interest in a new show but not in watching from the start? Looking for something to kill time? *g
ReplyDeleteAs long as you don't mind a few groaner episodes, start with season 1. It's one of the most frightening seasons, and the chemistry between Jensen, Jared, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan is extremely powerful.
ReplyDeleteI thought the episode was uneven, not one of the worst ever, but I'm voting you up as I don't see how your opinion deserves so many low votes.
ReplyDeleteMy main complain was when the young lady hunter and the old hunter kept stopping to talk while they were being followed/shot at.
ReplyDeleteI felt like they were telling us things about Tracy, the girl hunter, instead of letting us get to know her, but the guys were both mature with her, which was a relief.
The first 5 seasons are the best ones so far, but s9 looks very promising, 6 & 7 were ok, but 8 was one I want to forget. lol
ReplyDeleteAbout time he repaired things, season 8 was the worst and you did not mention it. I will take 6 & 7 any day over 8. This year is looking awesome...so far, waiting for the other shoe to drop. lol
ReplyDeletelol! "One of" not THE . . . you're right about "Bugs." The dragon episode from a couple back is up there too.
ReplyDeleteNo Bitten and then anything with Ghostfacers. I liked Bugs. lol
ReplyDeleteI'm with you..it is NOT real and a lot of things they do, in real life would be very stupid, but as long as they don't mess up canon I'm OK with it. Last season was so bad with canon I have not even bought the DVD yet..waiting for it to get much cheaper and will buy for the bonus material and to fill out my set.
ReplyDeleteAwesome :)
ReplyDeleteI watched the full first season a few years ago on DVD and got SO bored (don't hate me!) I shall try with seasons 4+ and see how I go.
ReplyDeleteI loved the show from the pilot and Papa John was outstanding, but my favorite season IS season 4 and favorite ep Swan Song from S5. But I would not have gotten as much out of the series without knowing all their back stories and there are some super eps in the early season.
ReplyDeleteThey need to go to 13 episodes like the cable shows these days. Much higher quality on AMC and FX.
ReplyDeleteThe old hunter was treated by Dr. House several years ago so he'll probably never die.
ReplyDeleteI liked the episode. That being said, you make excellent points. It really bugged me when Abbadon was "reborn" with makeup and covered in ashes. What is wrong with a woman on TV without perfect makeup? I didn't mind the whole special forces thing, but leaving the tied up hunters alone was kinda dumb.
ReplyDeleteProcedural shows are not my favorite - which is basically what season 1 is.
ReplyDeleteI definitely want to see Sam kicking butt soon, but even though he feels good, I believe he's still in pretty bad shape. Zeke said it was going to take some time to repair his organs. I wonder how long it will take.
ReplyDeleteI saw that promo pic, and it was pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteI don't think Zeke is lying b/c his wings were not full. They were broken and some speculated burned off in spots.
That would be awesome!
ReplyDeleteYeah I liked those also, but my favorite comic one was French Mistake and them trying to act..I laughed until I cried. And I love when they make fun of the show, Not many people watch or in the case of the books, not many people read them. Dang I love this show. lol Alpaca in the back yard. So much to love.
ReplyDeleteWell, it's okay if you didn't like it. Maybe you'll like season two more than season one! Try it. Oh, and season 4 is my favourite, so I recomend you to watch it!
ReplyDeleteSuch an outstanding episode. The character interactions in this one were off the charts.
ReplyDeleteYeh douno what to make of Zeke , (like everybody else , i dont think he's good)..Hopefully am wrong X
ReplyDeleteLOL i liked bitten and ghostfacers haha
ReplyDeleteLOL anyway's yeh your free to your own say ae ...Just I guess i read it wrong was tired lol...Sorry about that...
ReplyDeleteI though s8 first half sucked, but liked the second half especially the last 15mins of the final were outstanding ..But that's just me , but yeh this season does feel back on true form am touching wood
ReplyDeleteYou're right - I was wrong.
ReplyDeleteI've re- watched and it was evident that they were barely skeletal wings.
"But alas, it seems that we'll only be getting to see it on Teen Dean in the flashback episode and that doesn't really count."
ReplyDeleteJMO but I'd rather 'teen Dean' have taken the amulet off because he's mad at Sammy about something than see the amulet again in the FB; seeing in an FB would just infuriate me all over that the show never brought back the amulet in the first place ...
ReplyDeleteThe real reason they got rid of it was because Jensen kept forgetting to take the metal one off before fight scenes and replacing it with the rubberized one he was supposed to wear during those and apparently almost took out an eye doing that. Why they didn't just have him wear the rubberized one all the time is beyond me.

ReplyDeleteI empathize and sympathize with JA but I think you're right and why not have him routinely wear the rubber one and reserve the metal one for "static' close ups when the 'fake' would be noticeable.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I was thinking about, too, Frontierland, and how severely wounded Cas healed himself sufficiently enough to pull Sam and Dean back through 150 years by tapping the power of Bobby's soul.
ReplyDeleteRight. Or like how the first 2 episodes of season 7 Sam's hell hallucinations were off the charts creepy as hell but then later on in the season they were mostly played for comedic effect. Sometimes the follow through on this show isn't all that great.
ReplyDeleteYes, that. I though Repo Man's "Lucifer" was more creepy that bratty but by 817 TBAI I thought Luci was down to playing juvenile pranks; so I agree the S7 Sam's hellucinations was like a Holiday toy that the writers became disinterested in.
ReplyDeleteAaaawww, I actually kinda like most of the Ghostfacers ones. But then, the more comic episodes tend to be my faves--the rabbit's foot one, Gabriel's first episode (when he was just the Trickster), the TV-land episode, etc.
ReplyDeleteOn the nails/makeup -
ReplyDeleteThey were done when the body Abbadon is possessing was torched. That's why they showed up along with the soot when they brought the body back.
