  2. It was a good episode but there are too many regulars in this show. Poor Fusco barely gets screen time anymore. I really liked Carter in this, and good job by Warren Kole as Guest Star.. I am not crazy for Root but it was an interesting ending with her taking everybody down and getting out of the hospital..
I enjoyed that they gave us confirmation of Zoe and John's relationship.. It was nice to see Shaw bonding with Bear. Hopefully we will get some good material for Fusco in the future.

  3. Wow! Fantastic episode!
Who else got a mayor River Tam vibe when Root pulled shot without looking!

  4. Shaw is all class. End of story.

  5. Which is really appropriate considering her ties to the whedonverse lol.

  6. Loved it as this was the second "victim number" case in a row after not having one for a long time. Loved all the banter between all of the Team Machine Queens, and Shaw giving Reese a hard time about Carter.. Before the season, I was wondering if having Root as a regular would work, but at this point the unknown of her arc is perhaps the most intriguing so far. I imagine that they will develop arcs for Shaw, Fusco and Carter soon enough and I cannot wait to see what's coming.....

  7. Wow, this one blew me away. POI back into true form. Amazing episode. So great to see Zoe Morgan again.

  8. Awesome episode for me, I loved it the right balance between humor and suspense. I love Carter, Zoe and Shaw scenes. I love the dialogues between John and Shaw on the roof. The end of the episode was the last piece of a delicious cake, Root is amazing and take down Hersh so easy coool.

Root is a instrument for the machine now, wow this is gonna be huge.

  9. Awesome episode. Loved having Zoe back and with it the weird relationship between her and Reese. Shaw was great too, glad she found a friend who likes her for who she is. And Root, you kick ass when you got the Machine watching your back.

  10. Love how Root exited the facility and the shell shocked Doc witnessed it all. I loved how Finch came in to survey the damage.

  11. I giggled when I saw the polar bear painting!
Reminded me of LOST... "It's a polar bear." XD

Love Zoey, but she was basically wasted in the episode. Too brief an appearance for my tastes.

At some point they have to move on from Shaw wanting to shoot everyone... Right? Right?
Maybe her bonding with Bear will mellow her out.... Doubt it!

I liked Root forecasting her plans and how calmly the Dr dismissed them as delusional... Until the phone rang of course! XD

I was a little put off by how easily Hersh was dismissed by Root honestly. He was a bad ass operator for a long time and he was just spanked. Yes, the Machine was aiding Root I know. I just hate when seemingly bad ass characters are dismissed in a nonchalant fashion. It feels hollow to me.

I think this episode was "great", but still lacked some of the chemistry between Finch and Reese that I grew to love in the first 2 seasons. MY fear is that they will kill one of the regulars to streamline things. Sadly, that will most likely be Fusco! I would prefer more Fusco time to Root time or Shaw time... and even to Carter time if I am honest.

  12. I enjoyed how the Doc got to see everything go down too.
I'm guessing he will never look at his patients the same ever again! XD

  13. oh my gosh! I loe the chick version of a d**k measuring contest! Very friendly hee hee.

I kind of liked the ep but I can't help but feeling it was more interesting when the POI was a bud guy and the grew was hunting rather than helping.

While I am loving Shaw's integration into the team (she's got a place! and has been wooed by Bear) I am not quite so happy about Root's continued presence. I think a little Root goes a long way. Her escape was a bit fun but it was too "apart" from main thrust of the episode. But these writers have earned a little trust. I'll see where they're taking it.

Hmmmm. Root shot two men dead through an elevator door last year. This time she has a clear shot from five feet and only wings him. Sigh.

  15. Maybe the Machine instructed her to aim lower. When she pointed the gun at his head, the Machine told her to let him live.

  16. She follows the dictates of The Machine. I believe the entire encounter was staged to give Control something to think about.

  17. im looking forward to the reason why SHE doesn't want Hersh dead

    ReplyDelete
  18. I was wondering about that too...
Did the Machine truly want Hersh alive or did it just not want Root to kill him? Maybe it was a way to show Root has a new control over her homicidal tendencies?

Maybe Hersh still has a role to play, like Gollum in TLoR? XD

  19. I felt like there is something missing. Either on purpose or they cut a scene that would explain this. But I still feel the dude might be killing women. It felt to me as if it was not over yet.

  20. Horray for Zoe, but she was so wasted. But I loved the ladies all getting together. Maybe if Shaw and Carter kind of hang together and give Finch and Reese some alone time, it would get people off her back? A very mellow episode until it came back to Root. She's on loose and I can't until Team Machine has another encounter with her.

  21. Even though this was kind of an average POI of the week episode, I still really liked the episode. Obviously, I think Root stole the show there in the end with one of the most best escape scenes EVER! XD

It was a fun play on 'Lady Killers' all around, but I wonder if the story is really resolved yet? Carter too I thought was especially good and of course I'm always happy to see Zoe and putting Shaw with them was pretty fun!

One question though....When Zoe and Reese go to the kid's Grandfather's place and Zoe makes introductions, he says something like how is "our mutual friend" (wink to LOST/Charles Dickens/Desmond) and she replies something like, "She's doing fine"...do we know who "She" is? Could this be "Ma'am"???????

    ReplyDelete
  22. Did you also notice the ""our mutual friend" reference?! XD (which may be why Zoe wasn't wasted because she might have revealed something. She mentions another "she" went talking to the boy's grandfather after making introductions with Reese)

"At some point they have to move on from Shaw wanting to shoot everyone... Right? Right? Maybe her bonding with Bear will mellow her out.... Doubt it!"

Ha! I'm so with you on this! Please give her a story so she can emotionally evolve and eat properly already!!XD

I also agree it's lacking some Resse and Finch chemistry, but I also would really love a great dash of Fusco at some point in the near future too!

  23. I think there trying to maintain it's story of the week feel, but also keep the bigger story/mythology alive. I agree it seemed out of place in way, because it was such a major contrast, but what's curious is that Finch is SO worried about her escape, even though this is what the Machine wants...

  24. I did catch it while I was watching the episode, but forgot about it when I commented!

I took the comment to be about some mistress he had honestly... Something that Zoe may have covered up for him. It would be interesting if it did turn out to be "Ma'am" though!

  25. I thought it was weird too. All I gathered was that he was gathering information on women, but I don't know i they said if it was like for a business venture or something...but the way the episode ended, (and something I may have noticed with Zoe and kid's grandfather), almost makes me think that maybe we are not done with this POI and/or the connections to his son's family...

    ReplyDelete
  26. I had the impression that Finch doesn't know about her continued relationship with The Machine. I thought he was freaking out because 'crazed killer on the loose again'

    ReplyDelete
  27. I totally get that, but considering what happened before, Finch should consider that the machine might have helped her. He should try talking to machine to see if he can figure it out for himself.

I think it sets up a really interesting argument in that can Finch or the Audience trust the machine? -the situation parallels his skepticism with Shaw as well...

  28. Fun episode! I loved seeing the ladies interact, the ladies night out (both times), and seeing every one of them playing a significant part in the overall plan. I liked how the POI in this episode took a different turn than the team, and audience, were lead to believe. My fangirl heart squeed a little with all the John and Zoe stuff. I really hope we get to see more of those two. Overall, a great, entertaining episode! I look forward to any time when all the ladies get to be part of the team again.

  29. Ah, I see why Finch's extreme worry didn't seem curious to me. I'm operating on the assumption that Finch doesn't believe the machine would possible help someone he considers a villain. (despite the fact that she's always maintained that her motives, with regard to the machine, were to help the machine.) You're right....Finch has all of the evidence to see it, but i don't think he does yet so his worry made sense to me.

I love the fundamental story question you mention. Can we trust the machine. Is the machine one of the good guys or, despite all fo the well intentioned teachings that Finch programmed in....once sentient....and able to choose. Will the machine choose 'good' or 'evil'? I know it's been floating out there but I haven't allowed myself to get very involved in pre-season discussions and spoiler for this show. I hadn't really thought about it until now. It's an exciting thought! Kewl.

  30. Wow it was awesome. The case was cool and it gave such awesome interactions between everyone! I love Zoe, everytime she is there I am happy! I loved seeing all three ladies and I also loved John admitting to have something with Zoe ahah fun! The stuff with Root was very intense and creepy, loved it and it balanced out an otherwise more fun episode, it was very well done! Awesome!

  31. I walked away from this episode a little confused. Why did the POI change his appearance early in the episode? Why was he following Carter only to disappear? I get the main story and all but these details eluded me.

    ReplyDelete
  32. More than likely Doc became a patient after that.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I know its early in the season but i don't care for addition of Shaw. I find her character takes away from the dynamic that was POI,Finch & Reese. I think i said this last week but i rather they kept her as a recurring..

I do love what they are doing with Root. They don't give her as much screen time, but the time she does have she doesn't waste a second of it...She is delicious! That really is the first word that came to mind thinking of her i that scene last night...

Why,oh why didn't they make Zoey a regular?

  34. That scene was perfect!
