Before we officially met Neal I would have been pro Emma/Hook but now I want her with Neal. They already both said they loved each other. This is just there was of creating a love triangle, a completely unbelieveable one.
I have no serious feelings about this yet. I haven't got too into either Neal/Emma or Hook/Emma yet, so I'm pretty open to seeing what happens if Hook becomes a real potential love interest for Emma, and not just the faint possibility of one. Apparently other people might be more excited than me, because look at all those screenshots ...
Poor Jen, keeps saying in her interviews is that all Emma is concentrating on right now is saving Henry, and then this is what the writers are actually doing with her character. Out of the blue, they have her shove her tongue down this guy's throat when she's meet him like four different times before Neverland where they have probably only spent like 5 days by the time this happening "concentrating on saving Henry" not on getting to know each other... Seems legit for this to be happening already. And just made the reaction to Regina's "boyfriend" comment hilariously stupid with all that indignation from Emma and Snow.
I don't understand the writers. If they want to go with this ship on the long term, shouldn't be, I don't know, a gradual build up for it? Because what they did so far was little bit more than nothing and the last time they did this with a LI for Emma he ended up dying pretty soon but I guess that's not the fate they are planning for the pirate...
"Poor Jen, keeps saying in her interviews is that all Emma is concentrating on right now is saving Henry, and then this is what the writers are actually doing with her character"
Well, I guess her tight contact with Hook has a lot to do with the fact that he helps her to find Henry and that he is a strong backup for her.
Good for you for seeing it like that but I, unfortunately, am still stuck at the point where he is making inappropriate comments and she is grimacing but sure whatever floats your boat.
A) He is making innuendos B)if you mean the "quite fancy you" thing, he said it because she almost died and he came in terms of his feelings for her. C) if you don't think there isn't ANY build up in their relationship, were obviously not watching the same show
I ship both Swan Thief AND Captain Swan. So, in the end, it's about what makes Emma happiest -- not me. If Hook makes Emma happy and it will work out -- YAY. If Neal makes Emma happy and it will work out -- YAY for that, too! You can't deny the chemistry Hook and Emma have and this scene looks really intense. To me, it's the same as, 'Tallahassee' when we saw a great episode with Neal/Emma.
To me, it flabbergasts me when people call this fanservice -- there's been hints of it and Hook seems to truly be changing. He really is following through with helping Emma and the gang where as Neal left her and caused a giant hole in her heart. Perhaps Captain Swan won't be endgame, but perhaps Swan Thief won't, either. The writers have their storylines mapped out /way/ before we even know about it.
Then you obviously haven't read the article. It is clearly said that it's not any vision, dream etc. It's as real as the heart attacks fangirls are going to have when we see the ep :D
c) Sure I can say that, it's called perception varies from person to person. For me, that was a pathetic built up. They barely met, they barely know each other, they barely had any contact, NO HISTORY AT ALL. Big relationships simply are NOT built up like this.
I am so sick of them I want to know More About the People on the show . This BS Will just take time away from better Story lines we Fans would want to be seeing
I don't like the idea of the triangle but I was willing to accept it as long as it wasn't too stupid or forced. This seems incredible rushed and forced. Emma is supposed to find Henry not make out with someone guy that did plenty of questionable things last season. Thanks for ruining Emma writers.
WoW Emma U really have proven to be a real classless tramp, really making out with your son's grandmothers leftovers is she really that desperate and pathetic.
Whoa whoa whoa! So much Emma hate. Give it some time, guys. Remember that this is two episodes away, a lot can happen! As Adam constantly says: context!
I'm so glad Emma and Hook/Killian are kissing. It's about time that Emma be with someone who won't turn his back on her, nor belittle her like Neal does. They know each other 100%, while Emma clearly doesn't know a thing about Neal. The fact that some of you think it's gross for Emma to be with Hook, a man who has done nothing but help her, is disturbing. Neal had a fiance, but regardless of the fact she was evil, he got over her way too quickly. And if he did get back with Emma, he'd only break her heart again. Plus, as Ginnifer said, Neal is becoming Voldemort Jr. aka his father. He's going dark. Emma doesn't need that in her life.
Oh, and another thing, it's been confirmed that this is 100% real. So kindly stop being immature brats and go play in your sandboxes. You clearly don't care about Emma's happiness or well being if you think she's suppose to be with Neal. And no, not poor Neal. Neal made his choices and went down the wrong road. Emma never made the choice to be lied to, abandoned, etc.
And if you think Emma is a 'slut', then why are you watching the show? You're disgusting!
You do realize Emma said she loved Neal because she thought he was going to die. Plus, saying she loves Neal doesn't mean she is IN love with him. As for a love triangle. It's not really one. It takes three people. Emma is not in love with Neal and Neal shows a very poor example of supposedly being in love with her after being engaged and the shit he's done to Emma.
Oh, so Emma and Neal's history is fine? I mean, Neal belittled her, ditched her, never believed in her, and got engaged to another woman because he was too much of a coward to go find her.
Yes, people don't all view it the same way, but saying that there is no build up, basically makes me view you as unobservant since this story-line has been confirmed by Adam and Eddy to have be planned for a long time.
Totally agree. Anyone who has not seen the build up to this must be watching a different show. Not to mention, as you said that this storyline has been alluded to by the creators themselves.
Yup! I think a lot of people just rather remain in denial because they love their ship, I get that, I've done it before with other ships, but this one is very, very obvious. And I do think that there isn't a whole lot of a reason to have Hook stay on the show. I mean, I love Hook, but they could've easily gone many other ways, but no, they kept Hook, and put him and Emma together. They know their story. They know how the show will end, and as Jennifer said, nothing is an accident.
Plus, Freya aka Wendy Darling has been filming and she's currently in Vancouver filming the mid-season finale aka 309, so I am betting you there will be a Baelfire/Wendy reunion, and if he's getting a happy ending, I vote on it being with Wendy!
I don't ship Swan Thief, Swan Queen, or anything with Emma and I'm not happy about this. You shippers are so obsessed with ships, that's all you think this show is about. People are expressing genuine displeasure because we want to see more of EMMA sans romance so that we can see her grow as a character. How is that immature?
They have spent some time together. The beanstalk, time in storybrooke, etc. Relationships can start really quickly when 2 people have either an instant, intense attraction to each other, or are polar opposites and an event/circumstance forces them together. One of the most intense relationships of my life started with a girl I barely knew and really disliked at first. We were forced together to work, an it ended up to be one of the best, most intense relationships of my life. Yes, relationships that begin in such circumstances usually never work in the long term, but to say big relationships never begin this way is naive.
Adam and Eddy don't roll that way. If they were pleasing fans, they'd also being doing stuff with other ships people adore. There are three ships that stand out, as far as I have seen. That is SwanFire, SwanQueen and Captain Swan. Now, SwanQueen is pretty popular, I won't deny that, and if Eddy and Adam were fan servicing, they'd be pushing more SQ stuff, that'd make SQ shippers flail big time.
And they won't have Emma kiss and such with Hook only for it to be short term. That would be horrible for Emma, who has already been hurt enough. Eddy and Adam ain't dummies. They're smart writers.
Well said! I would love to see that for Neil. Would be much more interesting to me than the boring 'Emma and Neil live happily ever after'. People grow, people change, and who was your perfect love 10 years ago may not be today. Thus the 60% divorce rates in real life, lol.
Awe! And yes, I agree. I think many are hooked on the SwanThief they saw before Neal ditched Emma. They aren't those people anymore. And as one of the sneak peeks has shown, Emma doesn't really know Neal at all. She never knew his real name, she didn't know he drew, etc. But she knows many things about Hook, and Hook knew exactly who she was when they met.
Not to mention that Neal straight up said he'd never would've been with her if he had known who she really was. So for me, I don't believe Neal's love for her at all. I've seen far more chemistry of Neal with Mulan than anyone else. I barley saw it with Tamara even. Plus, the only two woman that Neal has interacted with that he hasn't screwed over is Wendy and Mulan.
That is another thing, I think Neal and Emma would be utterly boring together. All they'd probably do is fight. I get far more entertainment out of Hook and Emma than I will ever with Neal and Emma.
And I guess you could say Emma is his rebound, since it took him far too quickly to get over Tamara and want Emma.
You do realize that Emma starting a new relationship would be the definition of growth as a character. Real people DO have romantic relationships. What other aspect of her character do you want to see grow?
This completely. If people could step back and look at Neal for the shitty boyfriend he's been, instead of looking at him with rose tinted glasses, more people would be on board with the writers decision in this.
And totally noticed that too. Neal and Mulan had more chemistry in one scene than Neal and Emma have ever had on screen. Too bad Mulan is for another.
Nope, not on Tumblr, sorry. But have been meaning to get into it. hard to find the time these days. You are I take it? How would I look you up there? Leave me a reply and I will do so in the morning if you are, got to head to sleep now as its 4am here.
I'm neither a swan thief shipper or a captain swan shipper, but I'm finding this hard to find okay.
Seriously, what I don't get it how it was literally ONE EPISODE AGO, when Emma and Snow judged Regina for saying the 'boyfriend' comment, because Neal had just died. Plus the fact it was only 3 EPISODES AGO, in their time 3 NIGHTS AGO, when she said I LOVE YOU to Neal, and yet she's kissing Hook. What the actual hell. I'm trying really hard to understand the logic.
I thought Emma's main goal was to find Henry anyway?
I agree with you too. I don't ship Emma with anyone so I don't care about that. But they completely undermine Emma and even Jennifer Morrison and what she has said about Emma's journey in Neverland with this. It makes no sense at all for the story too. Like you said. They just told us that Neal "died" only three days ago and Henry is still missing and with creepy Pan and his lost boys. It's cheap, contrived drama because the writers or ABC want another one of those dreadful love triangles and they sacrifice the characters' and especially Emma's credibility for it. It's disappointing. I always thought and hoped OUAT would be better than this.
What about her magic? Overcoming her belief that she's alone in the world? Her life in the foster care? Her skills as a bail bondswoman? More development in her tentative teamup with Regina? A one-on-one scene with her father that we've been promised since mid-season 2?! There are stories to tell that do not involve romance, and these are stories about Emma I've been waiting to be told since before Hook or Neal were even mentioned by name, and I'm so goddamned tired of people making out like they're the most important thing about her, because they are not.
This is so true. There are so many things they keep promising us, but then it all comes down to ships again. Since they first said they will introduce suitors for Emma in season they keep reducing her to that. Like that's all fans care about. Well it's not.
I've wanted a real scene between Emma and her father since the s1 season finale and it has still not happened. The brief conversation with Snow in "Lost Girl" was the first meaningful one between them since early season 2 too. Even the Emma and Henry relationship did not get as much as attention as it did during the first season.
This is why I can't ship Emma with anyone yet. Why should I care about forced romance when there is so much about her backstory, about her relationship with her parents, with her son, even with her son's other mother - all people who've been in her life since season 1 - they keep brushing aside, keep promising they'll explore "later" and then it either never happens or it's only a single short scene. It's not enough. Focus on Emma as a strong, individual character first! That's what I care about. That's part of why I started watching OUAT.
EXACTLY, I think people who like all this SwanThief "couple" only loved the small bits we saw in flashbacks, imho. I truly can't understand how someone would want a woman to be reunited with a guy who totally broke her, who said that if he knew her true self, he would never be with her. He's the father of her child? Aaaand what? my parents had never been married, they are with other peoples and are truly happy, we're all a big FAMILY. And that's how things should be. As for the "hook and emma don't have a build-up".. I don't understand how one can't see it, but that's all right, opinions are opinions.
Again, read the bloody article as to why she is kissing him! Seriously.
Also, she told Neal she loved him because she is under the assumption he died. She's not IN love with him. Learn how to read subtext and listen to Adam and Eddy, who confirmed that.
Okay, all you Emma haters and Emma/Neal lovers really need to learn how to read an article and how to observe. Don't you dare dis Emma because she is kissing Hook and not Neal. Neal doesn't deserve Emma at all after the bullcrap he put her through!
Although I think this is a fair argument, I think given the season is about rescuing Henry and that Henry is what "True Love Creates", which is how Emma was able to break the curse and become the savior (and possibly will be how the other characters better themselves this season), I think it's very likely that she still has feelings for him and is her long term love interest.
Yeah, and these guys are from the Lost writing team. They were all "we have a plan for the series!!" and then when it: "lol jk, there was no plan". I'm not going to hold my breath, I know better by now.
Actually, Adam and Eddy knew they wanted Hook to be apart of Emma's life, they just had to wait for the rights for him, they confirmed this. And, if you haven't noticed, all the endgame canon couples - we saw their first kisses. Snowing, Rumbelle and now Captain Swan. We never saw Emma and Neal's first kiss.
Maybe you need to read up more on confirmed stuff by the writers before trying to win an argument against me. They've planned CS for a long time. Neal has his own story that may be attached to Emma, but it's not the way you think it is. Us, CSers have yet to be wrong about our theories. Adam and Eddy have confirmed we were accurate all along.
Whatever floats your boat. I am going to utterly enjoy this victory of CS being canon. Oh, and by the way, Once Upon has been in development SINCE around the end of Lost.
That person said they don't ship Emma with anyone, so why are you freaking out? Also, criticism for character motivations now validates someone as an "Emma hater"? Did you know... that you can love a character without liking a ship they're in? That you can point out the failings of the writing staff and their decisions about certain characters? I'm assuming you, yourself, think you're an Emma "lover"? Why, because you ship Captain Swan? This is all incredibly rich and wildly entertaining, to be honest. The logical fallacies you've brought up in your comment are fascinating.
"Once Upon has been in development SINCE around the end of Lost."
...so? I was referring to the fact that they didn't plan for Lost, and they're likely to repeat that, or at least think up some other inane storyline like the taser thing.
And by all means, go ahead and enjoy your canon! I'm going to enjoy watching you rage at people who don't like the turn of events in the comments below. It's kind of hilarious. That shit is hilarious.
The whole shipping nonsense will eventually destroy this show. Lame as hell, but what can you do. It looks like the show can offer only this - couples, triangles, shippers. Cheap drama for teenagers. Shame.
They are hating on Emma for being romantic with Hook. Being romantic with Hook, no matter if you ship no one or not, is rude and immature. I am fed up with people bashing Emma for being with Hook.
She may still have feelings for Neal, but she isn't in love with him. He ruined that a long time ago. He's not trust worthy and people seem to ignore the fact that Neal seemed to have gotten over his fiance very quickly. And Neal isn't a long term love interest, he's barley one.
The show is amazing, it's the shippers who are pressed that they're ships aren't canon. The majority of CSers I am friends with are super polite. And if this was a cheap drama for teenagers, it'd be The Vampire Diaries.
That is not "hating", that's called having an opinion about disliking romantic drama. You're just overreacting. Your comment was the only one rude or immature, accusing someone of hating Emma and putting words in their mouth. If you can't handle a difference, go back to your cs tag where your opinion can be coddled and leave the discussions to people who can formulate arguments without acting like a child over a stupid ship.
To say that the writers are undermining Emma? No, absolutely no, that is not hate. That asshole above who called Emma above a "slut"? THAT is hate. I'm an Emma fan, I've seen what hate looks like; that is not it. If you're going to use a word, learn what it means. And go ahead! Post in the swan thief tag, do you think I give a shit? Do you think I'm secretly a Swan Thief fan or something? Both ships are the worst, which is why I hate them. They lob balls of shit at each other and both treat Emma like an extension to the man involved instead of a woman on a mission, which is what the poster was saying before you charged in and threw in your delusional input.
He got over his fiance because she used him and never really loved him, which is why he realizes how important it is that he tries to get it right this time (and FYI last time it was partially August's fault and not Neal's alone).
I don't think Emma is in love with Hook, but he's there being helpful at time where Emma is feeling pretty blue thanks to painfulness that it took to get the map to appear to her. I don't think this issue is black or white.
You mean they have planned for and end game that they didn't know they could write at all? That's smart way to waste their time SINCE they couldn't have been sure they could use him on the show, ever! If they don't get the rights there is no Hook on OUAT, or Neverland at all and they'd probably be prancing around in Oz right about now where Emma's love interest would be the Tin Man or something, and some people would be 100% sure that they are endgame. That's a stupid example probably but should get the message across or not.
Anyways, that long planning you seem to believe so strongly in could only have been since after season 1 ended, and it probably happened the exact same way as what they are doing with Robin and Regina now, meaning an idea during the summer hiatus. That's why they had to recast Robin after they originally cast Tom Ellis who they knew wouldn't be available for a longer period of time. And the extra bonus is that he didn't have his lion tattoo in 2.19 yet so yeah, years of planning is showing or now that they are popular they are bidding their time until they can do what they originally wanted and knew they actually could.
I agree with you. I just hope that Adam and Eddy are telling the story that they want to tell. If they were to write according to what the fans want all the time, then ouat would just become more like a fan-fiction story. :/
Need to interrupt for a second.. Name calling and/or personal attacks will get you banned. You might want to read the Comment Policy for this site.Just wanted to give you a heads up. :)
You may now resume the never ending shipping battle! ;)
Personally, I just want to see where it goes. I can't understand how people can flip out over something like this. I would like to see what THIS Emma is like in an actual relationship with someone. She hasn't had a real connection like that since this show began. Well...unless you count that VERY brief thing with Graham.
People need to calm the hell down. So they kiss. Big freaking deal. When Neal shows up it's just going to complicate things. I'm almost certain that will be their first and last kiss for quite some time, but people are treating it like it's an epic declaration of love.
So many people are overreacting to it in here it's just pathetic.
True! We haven't even seen the episode yet. After 4x05/6 I think everyone is going to be saving henry and then (OH!) getting the hell out of Neverland.
Excuse me? I'm giving my opinion. I'm disappointed because I love Emma and I expected more from the writers of this show than predictable love triangle clichés. That's not hate. It's you who's overreacting here. Jeez.
Always seemed like more of a simple flirtation to me. I mean, I'm not saying they weren't always attracted to each other, I just wasn't ever sure anything was ever going to be done about it, what with Hook's kill Rumple quest and Neal popping up and everything. I guess by "real" I just mean now their flirtation might get a drive behind it, maybe start evolving into something more than just random banter fun.
no, Sage, unfortunately OUAT is not amazing. It really looks like the show will never reach its full potential. And that's the main difference between OUAT and TVD.
This is a reply in terms of your 'Neal doesn't deserve Emma at all after the bullcrap he put her through' line.
I'm going to be biased here and say that I understand both points as to why certain people think Neal should be with Emma, or why Hook should be with Emma.
From my point of perspective, at one point or another, I can say that they have BOTH betrayed Emma at one point. Neal allowed her to be arrested by the police, while Hook left Emma, Snow, Aurora and Mulan in the cave without any means to get out. However, both character's have changed and adapted. Neal wants his second chance with Emma, and Hook also has a liking to her too. They both have valid reasons to be her lover, people are just denying everyone else's points because they just think about THEIR ship.
At this point in the plot, I'd rather Emma just concentrate on finding her son, then they can do the horrible love triangle stuff afterward :)
Though I found your reply to be quite rude, telling me to 'learn how to read subtext', I'll let it slip. 'She told Neal she loved him because she is under the assumption he died.' Okay, I understand how you many believe she said 'I love you' to Neal because she thought he was going to die- and fair enough, it could have been an in the moment sort of thing- however I don't believe so. I think the 'I love you' was something quite genuine, and though this is only my opinion, I'm going to say quite a few people agree. From what I have read, this Captain Swan kiss IS an 'in the moment' sort of thing. And I'm not hating on it! I was stating in my earlier comment that I am confused as to why she would have a change of heart so quickly, from saying I love you to Neal, to then kissing Hook. :))
I do believe that by creating the love triangle, they have made a bit of a problem. Sure, it's nice drama. But, at the end of it, some fans are going to be angry because their ship wasn't chosen to be canon. That's why I hate love triangle plots.
Emma was able to break the curse because she loved Henry, not because he was what true love creates... The love a mother shares with her children is true love, it doesn't matter if she loved or not the father...
They really don't know their fanbase. What about the Neal/Emma shippers? There's a lot. What about the Regina/Emma shippers? There's a lot who will leave the show after this. It's stupid to pair her with Hook. Regardless of who I ship, I'd say the same thing for ANYONE she's paired with. It'll alienate more than half the fanbase and cause a war between ships again. It's not worth Emma getting some-finally.
Both things are true or it's the same difference because Emma parallels Henry as Rumple explains that [children] are what True Love Creates, which is why Emma is The Savior, but also since there is FATE in this universe, the we see that Emma couldn't be The Savior alone, it relied on Henry, which is why they are also using him this way as a plot device currently.
Go watch Fringe, see a REAL lovestory, and come back. Has she said she ships Swan Thief? NOPE. Yet ya'll take it as such. Get over yourselves. Yay, your ship is canon! *bakes a cake for you* Not everyone ships it. There's no law that says we have to. Nor will I either, as I believe Emma ending up with ANYONE so early in the show for good is a stupidass decision that will end up alienating more than half the fucking fanbase.
Neal hasn't changed at all. He's only going back to Emma because he lost his fiance. Regardless of the fact she wasn't who she said she was. Neal used a child, which Robin said no to, then he blackmailed Robin Hood. Neal is still being selfish and will continue to become his father.
I do agree the love triangle is stupid, but at the same time, I don't view it as one because it takes three to be in one. I don't believe Neal actually loves Emma. He loves 17 year old Emma. He doesn't know this Emma at all. Hook may have done a few shady things but Neal has done far worse. And Emma doesn't even know the real Neal.
I just get super pissed off at people saying that Neal is the one for Emma when Neal is a total douche bag. No woman wants to be involved with a guy that will leave them and find an easy way out instead of sticking around. No woman wants a man who lies or belittles them. And no woman would want a guy who'd do anything, even kill, to save their child. Neal being in Neverland alongside his father spells bad news for him.
I wasn't expecting this to happen so soon, but I guess it was only a matter of time. I'm kind of indifferent to the pairing, but I am still interested to see how this will play out.
If the writers confirmed that, then fair enough. However I believe they should make that clear on the show. I myself, am I big fan, so I read all the spoilers and tweets, and like you, would know that 'Emma said she loved him because she thought he was going to die'- due to interviews we've read online. Although, regular viewers, such as my sister for instance, don't know this because they haven't made that clear on the show.
Ah yes, I saw that interview with Jennifer, though I'm very happy for the Captain Swan fans, I do have to say that a 'very human moment' doesn't necessarily mean true love, which many people have been insinuating.
I think you can tell Neal is extremely determined to save Henry, and to hopefully be able to find Emma again, and tell her what he truly feels. But I don't feel he's doing this just because he lost his fiance (frickin tamara though). I think persuasion would be a better word than blackmail, yes, I do agree that is was wrong for him to have used Hood's child, but I understand his urgency to find Henry. Especially because he knows what Peter Pan is like, I think I'd be eager to get my son back too.
Haha, glad you agree the love triangle is stupid. But I do potentially see it as that, because I do think Neal is in love with her. But I'd personally say that Hook and Neal are just as bad as each other, in fairness. And also, Emma doesn't know about Hook and Milah, and she also doesn't know that Hook essentially gave Bae up to Peter. Whereas, she does know the bad things Neal has done. So I'll judge when she knows everything about both of them :)
Just to let you know, I don't want either of them to be with Emma. I think I stand alone here when I say that I believe Emma hasn't even found the right person yet. but I'd have to say that I think your last paragraph is a bit contradicting, as Hook had done most of those actions himself :)
It's an interesting theory, but I don't see Neal and Emma as end game, and I'm not a Captain Swan shipper, I actually like Emma with anyone or no one, I think she'd be fine with or without someone. But I simply can't see her in love with Neal, I think once your heart was broken like that, you never "go back"
I disagree, because in this past episode, "Nasty Habits", she gets extremely upset thinking about Neal being dead, as she seems to have major regrets...I think their relationship is just uniquely build backwards.
And Emma knows that Neal did what August said, because of The Savior aspect...so in theory no one intentionally wanted to break anyone's heart, but rather it was a matter of circumstance in relation to the course. Emma's whole purpose is to accept herself and that includes fighting for the ones she loves and the same goes for Neal...This whole show is about fixing the past by becoming better people (eventually). Which means we everyone has to get over themselves and their broken hearts.
Then lets agree to disagree. You can love someone and you can be upset than someone is dead and it doesn't mean you are in love with them.
Neal might have acted by what August said, but that doesn't make it less painful. Just think if someone would leave you like that, would it really be the way it used to be? And how do their lives are screw up because of their parents? If the show tells us about something is that we create our own destiny, not our parents.
If the writers would have just killed him off in the finale, then I would agree with you, but until they decide to that I see him serving 3 purposes being a father, a son, and a significant other.
This is what their parents did: Milah was unfaithful to Rumple and made him feel cowardly for not wanting to participate fully in the Ogre War, which made Bae have a false perception of whom his parents were....Then becoming the dark one, due to Rumple loosing Milah and feeling like a disappointment to his son along with the impeccable timing of the former dark one (fate), pushed Bae away further and cased him to leave FTL....
Rumple (as the dark one) and after requiring the gift of the seer pushed Regina to enact the curse, which causes Snow White and Charming to abandoned Emma in a strange and unknown world, where she did have a horrible childhood, making her an insecure adult, with this horrible need to punish others and those in lousy relationships (Bail Bonds Person) Then during this Time August (who probably also didn't have the best life) is take to make sure Emma isn't happy so she will end up going to Storybrooke...
The show has yet to say we create our destiny, because what destiny is ins't clear, let alone "IF" they even have to prove destiny wrong, as fate or destiny is about were you end up (destination) and therefor "who knows" what it all takes to get there.
The seer pointed out that seeing visions of the future (which can't exist without fate) doesn't mean you have "all of the answers", because they are just pieces to the bigger puzzle and some visions could be catch 22's in terms of the actual circumstances of them (they are out of context, as Rumple did not know his own grandson could relate to his 'undoing'). Let alone the Henry/Rumple prophecy doesn't actually state what "undoing" means, as it could easily mean that he undoes 'the dark one' and actually saves Rumple.. None of them know the whole truth of reality and/or their own fates, because fate is something on going and yet to be determined, until we get to a final point...
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
They sure know their fanbase :3
ReplyDeletewell we saw it coming, wonder how that will go over when she finds out Neal is alive and well-and on the island
ReplyDeletepfffffff not excited about this.... I really want to see Hook's backstory but I don't care for CS...
ReplyDeleteIf you look at the last picture this was the cover of Enetertainment magnize. Are you sure these are the promotional pictures released by ABC?
ReplyDeleteI think they're screen shots from the gif of the kiss that EW just posted.
ReplyDeleteBefore we officially met Neal I would have been pro Emma/Hook but now I want her with Neal. They already both said they loved each other. This is just there was of creating a love triangle, a completely unbelieveable one.
ReplyDeleteEwww, that's disgusting.
ReplyDeleteI have no serious feelings about this yet. I haven't got too into either Neal/Emma or Hook/Emma yet, so I'm pretty open to seeing what happens if Hook becomes a real potential love interest for Emma, and not just the faint possibility of one. Apparently other people might be more excited than me, because look at all those screenshots ...
ReplyDeleteFACEPALM.
ReplyDeletePoor Jen, keeps saying in her interviews is that all Emma is concentrating on right now is saving Henry, and then this is what the writers are actually doing with her character.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand the writers. If they want to go with this ship on the long term, shouldn't be, I don't know, a gradual build up for it? Because what they did so far was little bit more than nothing and the last time they did this with a LI for Emma he ended up dying pretty soon but I guess that's not the fate they are planning for the pirate...
YESSSSSSS!!!
ReplyDelete"Poor Jen, keeps saying in her interviews is that all Emma is
ReplyDeleteconcentrating on right now is saving Henry, and then this is what the
writers are actually doing with her character"
Well, I guess her tight contact with Hook has a lot to do with the fact that he helps her to find Henry and that he is a strong backup for her.
Good for you for seeing it like that but I, unfortunately, am still stuck at the point where he is making inappropriate comments and she is grimacing but sure whatever floats your boat.
ReplyDeleteThis pleases me greatly. I really have nothing more to say. Haters to the left!
ReplyDeleteWorst Promotional Photos , for me.. <3 Neal <3 :(
ReplyDeleteA) He is making innuendos B)if you mean the "quite fancy you" thing, he said it because she almost died and he came in terms of his feelings for her.
ReplyDeleteC) if you don't think there isn't ANY build up in their relationship, were obviously not watching the same show
I ship both Swan Thief AND Captain Swan.
ReplyDeleteTo me, it flabbergasts me when people call this fanservice -- there's been hints of it and Hook seems to truly be changing. He really is following through with helping Emma and the gang where as Neal left her and caused a giant hole in her heart. Perhaps Captain Swan won't be endgame, but perhaps Swan Thief won't, either. The writers have their storylines mapped out /way/ before we even know about it.
Emma/Happiness FTW!
Then you obviously haven't read the article. It is clearly said that it's not any vision, dream etc. It's as real as the heart attacks fangirls are going to have when we see the ep :D
ReplyDeletec) Sure I can say that, it's called perception varies from person to person. For me, that was a pathetic built up. They barely met, they barely know each other, they barely had any contact, NO HISTORY AT ALL. Big relationships simply are NOT built up like this.
ReplyDeleteewww nope
ReplyDeleteI am really sorry for Hook. Emma will break his heart again. I hope they will be together!
ReplyDeleteI am so sick of them I want to know More About the People on the show . This BS Will just take time away from better Story lines we Fans would want to be seeing
ReplyDeleteI don't like the idea of the triangle but I was willing to accept it as long as it wasn't too stupid or forced. This seems incredible rushed and forced. Emma is supposed to find Henry not make out with someone guy that did plenty of questionable things last season. Thanks for ruining Emma writers.
ReplyDeleteThe destruction of Emma's character is in full swing.
ReplyDeleteVIVA LA SWAN QUEEN!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy while it still last
ReplyDeleteWoW Emma U really have proven to be a real classless tramp, really making out with your son's grandmothers leftovers is she really that desperate and pathetic.
ReplyDeleteWhoa whoa whoa! So much Emma hate. Give it some time, guys. Remember that this is two episodes away, a lot can happen! As Adam constantly says: context!
ReplyDeleteI'd rather Emma be with Hook than Neal, who is an untrust worthy jerk. Also, you seem to need a therapist, so I suggest running to one now.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Emma and Hook/Killian are kissing.
ReplyDeleteOh, and another thing, it's been confirmed that this is 100% real.
ReplyDeleteABC tweeted them, too. They are legit.
ReplyDeleteUhm, I think it's been established that Hook is a real love interest. Been that way since the moment they met.
ReplyDeleteOh, so Emma and Neal's history is fine? I mean, Neal belittled her, ditched her, never believed in her, and got engaged to another woman because he was too much of a coward to go find her.
ReplyDeleteYes, people don't all view it the same way, but saying that there is no build up, basically makes me view you as unobservant since this story-line has been confirmed by Adam and Eddy to have be planned for a long time.
Break his heart? Clearly you're watching the wrong show.
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to go read the article, where they will learn why she kisses him. My god.
ReplyDeleteThe only why they'd ruin Emma, is if she returned to Neal.
That'd be accurate IF she returned to Neal. How dare you!
ReplyDeleteThey are just angry that their ship isn't sailing still. It's immature.
ReplyDeletei cant agree more .. Neal doent deserve emma
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. Anyone who has not seen the build up to this must be watching a different show. Not to mention, as you said that this storyline has been alluded to by the creators themselves.
ReplyDeleteIf they want to go with this ship on the long term, shouldn't be, I don't know, a gradual build up for it?
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure it won't be long term. They're probably putting out the picture now to appease the shippers :/
ReplyDeletePlus, Freya aka Wendy Darling has been filming and she's currently in Vancouver filming the mid-season finale aka 309, so I am betting you there will be a Baelfire/Wendy reunion, and if he's getting a happy ending, I vote on it being with Wendy!
ReplyDeleteThey have spent some time together.
ReplyDeleteAdam and Eddy don't roll that way.
ReplyDeleteAnd they won't have Emma kiss and such with Hook only for it to be short term.
ReplyDeleteAwe!
ReplyDeleteNot to mention that Neal straight up said he'd never would've been with her if he had known who she really was. So for me, I don't believe Neal's love for her at all. I've seen far more chemistry of Neal with Mulan than anyone else. I barley saw it with Tamara even. Plus, the only two woman that Neal has interacted with that he hasn't screwed over is Wendy and Mulan.
Jesus, calm down. Relax. Me thinks you were jilted once or twice. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is another thing, I think Neal and Emma would be utterly boring together. All they'd probably do is fight. I get far more entertainment out of Hook and Emma than I will ever with Neal and Emma.
ReplyDeleteAnd I guess you could say Emma is his rebound, since it took him far too quickly to get over Tamara and want Emma.
You do realize that Emma starting a new relationship would be the definition of growth as a character. Real people DO have romantic relationships. What other aspect of her character do you want to see grow?
ReplyDeleteDamn man. So great to see a voice for reason here. Couldn't have said it better. kudos.
ReplyDeleteOff topic, but are you on Tumblr at all, Setheriel?
ReplyDeleteThis completely. If people could step back and look at Neal for the shitty boyfriend he's been, instead of looking at him with rose tinted glasses, more people would be on board with the writers decision in this.
ReplyDeleteAnd totally noticed that too.
ReplyDeleteMine is Melanieexox.tumblr.com
ReplyDeleteIf you get one and message me, I would be happy to help you figure it out! :)
I'm neither a swan thief shipper or a captain swan shipper, but I'm finding this hard to find okay.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, what I don't get it how it was literally ONE EPISODE AGO, when Emma and Snow judged Regina for saying the 'boyfriend' comment, because Neal had just died.
I agree with what you are saying.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you too.
ReplyDeleteWhat about her magic? Overcoming her belief that she's alone in the world? Her life in the foster care? Her skills as a bail bondswoman? More development in her tentative teamup with Regina? A one-on-one scene with her father that we've been promised since mid-season 2?! There are stories to tell that do not involve romance, and these are stories about Emma I've been waiting to be told since before Hook or Neal were even mentioned by name, and I'm so goddamned tired of people making out like they're the most important thing about her, because they are not.
ReplyDeleteThis is so true. There are so many things they keep promising us, but then it all comes down to ships again. Since they first said they will introduce suitors for Emma in season they keep reducing her to that. Like that's all fans care about. Well it's not.
ReplyDeleteI've wanted a real scene between Emma and her father since the s1 season finale and it has still not happened.
Bless you, you two. Took the words out of my mouth. A-fucking-men.
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY, I think people who like all this SwanThief "couple" only loved the small bits we saw in flashbacks, imho.
ReplyDeleteAs for the "hook and emma don't have a build-up".. I don't understand how one can't see it, but that's all right, opinions are opinions.
Again, read the bloody article as to why she is kissing him! Seriously.
ReplyDeleteAlso, she told Neal she loved him because she is under the assumption he died.
ReplyDeleteHey, they make mistakes. All writers do.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I think this is a fair argument, I think given the season is about rescuing Henry and that Henry is what "True Love Creates", which is how Emma was able to break the curse and become the savior (and possibly will be how the other characters better themselves this season), I think it's very likely that she still has feelings for him and is her long term love interest.
ReplyDeleteYeah, and these guys are from the Lost writing team. They were all "we have a plan for the series!!" and then when it: "lol jk, there was no plan". I'm not going to hold my breath, I know better by now.
ReplyDeleteActually, Adam and Eddy knew they wanted Hook to be apart of Emma's life, they just had to wait for the rights for him, they confirmed this. And, if you haven't noticed, all the endgame canon couples - we saw their first kisses. Snowing, Rumbelle and now Captain Swan. We never saw Emma and Neal's first kiss.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you need to read up more on confirmed stuff by the writers before trying to win an argument against me.
ReplyDeleteThat person said they don't ship Emma with anyone, so why are you freaking out? Also, criticism for character motivations now validates someone as an "Emma hater"? Did you know... that you can love a character without liking a ship they're in? That you can point out the failings of the writing staff and their decisions about certain characters? I'm assuming you, yourself, think you're an Emma "lover"? Why, because you ship Captain Swan? This is all incredibly rich and wildly entertaining, to be honest. The logical fallacies you've brought up in your comment are fascinating.
ReplyDelete"Once Upon has been in development SINCE around the end of Lost."
ReplyDelete...so? I was referring to the fact that they didn't plan for Lost, and they're likely to repeat that, or at least think up some other inane storyline like the taser thing.
And by all means, go ahead and enjoy your canon! I'm going to enjoy watching you rage at people who don't like the turn of events in the comments below. It's kind of hilarious. That shit is hilarious.
The whole shipping nonsense will eventually destroy this show. Lame as hell, but what can you do. It looks like the show can offer only this - couples, triangles, shippers. Cheap drama for teenagers. Shame.
ReplyDeleteThey are hating on Emma for being romantic with Hook. Being romantic with Hook, no matter if you ship no one or not, is rude and immature. I am fed up with people bashing Emma for being with Hook.
ReplyDeleteShe may still have feelings for Neal, but she isn't in love with him. He ruined that a long time ago. He's not trust worthy and people seem to ignore the fact that Neal seemed to have gotten over his fiance very quickly. And Neal isn't a long term love interest, he's barley one.
ReplyDeleteGlad I can entertain you!
ReplyDeleteThe show is amazing, it's the shippers who are pressed that they're ships aren't canon. The majority of CSers I am friends with are super polite. And if this was a cheap drama for teenagers, it'd be The Vampire Diaries.
ReplyDeleteThat is not "hating", that's called having an opinion about disliking romantic drama.
ReplyDeleteOh, so saying that they are undermining Emma isn't hate? Okay then. Thank you for the lesson.
ReplyDelete'Without acting like a child over a stupid ship'
I think that comment needs to be posted in the ST tag.
Thanks for the lovely conversation and I hope you enjoy the rest of the glorious Captain Swan season.
ReplyDeleteHe got over his fiance because she used him and never really loved him, which is why he realizes how important it is that he tries to get it right this time (and FYI last time it was partially August's fault and not Neal's alone).
ReplyDeleteI don't think Emma is in love with Hook, but he's there being helpful at time where Emma is feeling pretty blue thanks to painfulness that it took to get the map to appear to her.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, that long planning you seem to believe so strongly in could only have been since after season 1 ended, and it probably happened the exact same way as what they are doing with Robin and Regina now, meaning an idea during the summer hiatus.
ReplyDeleteNeed to interrupt for a second.. Name calling and/or personal attacks will get you banned. You might want to read the Comment Policy for this site.Just wanted to give you a heads up. :)
ReplyDeleteYou may now resume the never ending shipping battle! ;)
Oops, my bad! Won't happen again :)
ReplyDeleteI wonder how different the comments in here would be if it was Neal and Emma. Would there be less rampant hatred?
ReplyDeleteIMHO, I think there would way, WAY more hate if it was Neal and Emma.
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't you guys just post the GIF instead? :/
ReplyDeletePersonally, I just want to see where it goes. I can't understand how people can flip out over something like this. I would like to see what THIS Emma is like in an actual relationship with someone. She hasn't had a real connection like that since this show began. Well...unless you count that VERY brief thing with Graham.
ReplyDeletePeople need to calm the hell down.
ReplyDeleteExcuse me? I'm giving my opinion. I'm disappointed because I love Emma and I expected more from the writers of this show than predictable love triangle clichés. That's not hate. It's you who's overreacting here. Jeez.
ReplyDeleteCalling this a "victory" actually says a lot about how some of you approach the show. Just saying.
ReplyDeleteAlways seemed like more of a simple flirtation to me.
ReplyDeleteI think I see that you're now following me on Tumblr? Click the ask button and message me since your ask isn't enabled.
ReplyDeleteYes 😃
ReplyDeleteno, Sage, unfortunately OUAT is not amazing. It really looks like the show will never reach its full potential. And that's the main difference between OUAT and TVD.
ReplyDeleteThis is a reply in terms of your 'Neal doesn't deserve Emma at all after the bullcrap he put her through' line.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be biased here and say that I understand both points as to why certain people think Neal should be with Emma, or why Hook should be with Emma.
ReplyDeleteI do believe that by creating the love triangle, they have made a bit of a problem. Sure, it's nice drama. But, at the end of it, some fans are going to be angry because their ship wasn't chosen to be canon. That's why I hate love triangle plots.
ReplyDeleteEmma was able to break the curse because she loved Henry, not because he was what true love creates... The love a mother shares with her children is true love, it doesn't matter if she loved or not the father...
ReplyDelete"And I guess you could say Emma is his rebound, since it took him far too quickly to get over Tamara and want Emma."
ReplyDeleteI've always hated Neal, but I never saw it like that :O
If you don't like their writing, then why do you watch the show?
ReplyDeleteThey really don't know their fanbase.
ReplyDeleteBoth things are true or it's the same difference because Emma parallels Henry as Rumple explains that [children] are what True Love Creates, which is why Emma is The Savior, but also since there is FATE in this universe, the we see that Emma couldn't be The Savior alone, it relied on Henry, which is why they are also using him this way as a plot device currently.
ReplyDeleteGo watch Fringe, see a REAL lovestory, and come back.
ReplyDelete1. The writers confirmed that Emma said she loved him because she thought he was going to die, so I am not making it up.
ReplyDelete2. Kissing Hook is a 'very human moment' as Jennifer stated in the article.
Sorry if I came off rude, but I wouldn't say such stuff if it was simply an opinion. These are all confirmed by Jennifer, and the writers.
TVD lost it's full potential along time ago.
ReplyDeleteNeal hasn't changed at all. He's only going back to Emma because he lost his fiance. Regardless of the fact she wasn't who she said she was. Neal used a child, which Robin said no to, then he blackmailed Robin Hood. Neal is still being selfish and will continue to become his father.
ReplyDeleteI do agree the love triangle is stupid, but at the same time, I don't view it as one because it takes three to be in one.
Because I love the cast, especially Jennifer Morrison. I also love the characters, and I want them to be written to their fullest potential.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't expecting this to happen so soon, but I guess it was only a matter of time. I'm kind of indifferent to the pairing, but I am still interested to see how this will play out.
ReplyDeleteIf the writers confirmed that, then fair enough.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, I saw that interview with Jennifer, though I'm very happy for the Captain Swan fans, I do have to say that a 'very human moment' doesn't necessarily mean true love, which many people have been insinuating.
But thank you for the apology :))
ReplyDeleteHaha, glad you agree the love triangle is stupid.
But I simply can't see her in love with Neal, I think once your heart was broken like that, you never "go back"
ReplyDeleteI disagree, because in this past episode, "Nasty Habits", she gets extremely upset thinking about Neal being dead, as she seems to have major regrets...I think their relationship is just uniquely build backwards.
ReplyDeleteAnd Emma knows that Neal did what August said, because of The Savior aspect...so in theory no one intentionally wanted to break anyone's heart, but rather it was a matter of circumstance in relation to the course.
ReplyDeleteNeal might have acted by what August said, but that doesn't make it less painful.
ReplyDeleteThis is what their parents did:
Milah was unfaithful to Rumple and made him feel cowardly for not wanting to participate fully in the Ogre War, which made Bae have a false perception of whom his parents were....Then becoming the dark one, due to Rumple loosing Milah and feeling like a disappointment to his son along with the impeccable timing of the former dark one (fate), pushed Bae away further and cased him to leave FTL....
