Will Beckett say yes? This is the very first question that Castle and fans have been asking for the whole summer. Now, in the season premiere opens exactly where we left in May with “Watershed.” Richard Castle is still here under his kneels, he’s just proposed when Kate Beckett all of sudden says “OMG you’re proposing!” as if she was shocked or upset.

Indeed, the scene is so funny because Castle makes his puppy eyes, feeling like a little dog who just did something bad. Fans can be calm: Beckett basically says yes to the proposal. I loved how the lovely scene turns into an action one – we jump forward in the future, few months ahead – in which we see Beckett facing her training at work on the field in Washington DC. (raise your hand if you screamed when the blonde woman shot to Beckett)

Her partner is Agent McCord, a tough woman who recognizes Beckett’s quality at her job, and because of that, she covers her when Castle makes a trip to D.C. and interferes in Beckett’s federal investigation. Meanwhile in New York, Alexis’s new boyfriend makes his first appearance: Pi is a sunny guy who immediately feels – too much – comfortable in Castle’s house – and perhaps our favorite writer could feel some concerns for her lovely daughter. At the 12th precinct, Kevin Ryan has started to do some proof for his first baby’s arrival with a fake doll in a cradle.

Elsewhere, Castle can’t wait to see her fiancĂ©e in D.C. that he gets in trouble with her case, and he is soon abducted by a criminal – who dies afterwards. That criminal turns out to be the man Beckett and McCord were looking for.
But another cliffhanger is behind the corner when Beckett discovers that Castle’s blood has been mixed up with that criminal, and now there’s a toxin running through Castle’s veins...
The episode ends with a “To Be Continued” on the screen, and we learn that Castle has less than a day to live.

What will happen next? What about you? What are your expectations for the season?
