Top 25 markets 18-49 demo ratings - Dads 2.7, Brooklyn 3.0 and more

18 Sept 2013

In the top 25 markets Dads scored a 2.7 18-49 demo rating while Brooklyn 9-9 improved on that with a 3.0 demo, New Girl topped the FOX sitcoms with a 3.2 and Mindy was the weakest link with a 2.4.
Sorry critics you're wrong again this season on the worst reviewed sitcom - Dads is no flop.
Note: these ratings are for the top 25 markets only and national ratings may have slight variations, yesterday for example Sleepy Hollow and Bones both increased 0.2 from top 25 markets to national.

  1. Yay for Brooklyn Nine-Nine and New Girl! I really hope Brooklyn Nine-Nine can hold up well with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and NCIS starting next week.

  3. I Really Don't Know How To Read Ratings Would Someone Tell Me Which Ones Are Good And Which Ones Are Bad.

  5. "Mindy Kaling Underperforming"

    "Mindy Kaling Flop"

    "Mindy Kaling Cancelled"

  6. Basically any show from a broadcast network above a 2.0 rating is doing good. Any show below a 2.0 is in danger (except for CW and sometimes NBC.)

  7. Great night for FOX!
Really happy for Brooklyn and New Girl! Didn't expect them to be so high!
The real test is next week, but if the comedies can hold up and just lose some tenths, FOX will be really pleased

  8. FOX last season ratings were so bad that a 1.6 actually was kind of a 2.0, but seeing how well this season started for them, maybe a 2.0 is the bottom line for good again

  9. if you're a retentionista otherwise Mindy still did well for FOX.

I'm sorry but ratings aren't a real indicator about the quality of a show. The pilot just wasn't funny, the sneak peeks for the second episode didn't make want to give the show another chance and even a 4.9 won't make me wanna watch the show because it's just not funny.

  11. :( I want mindy project to do well!!!! everyone watch it,
    IT IS SO FUNNY!

  12. FOX, CBS and ABC also renewed shows that were regularly hitting blow the 2.0 mark last season.

  13. all ratings a relative- a shows ratings are relative to the other shows on the network they air on

The shows above can be considered as good for FOX at this stage of the season.

  14. will have to wait and see how many viewers tune back in for the second episode, but it was well sampled so barring a massive drop of in the next couple of weeks then it probably cant be considered a flop. But we shall see.

  15. Against no competition. The true test of all these shows is next week. The Voice traditionally crushes on Tuesdays. The new ABC comedies will also drain audience from Fox.

And for those proclaiming DADS is a hit, please refer to "ROB," the 2012 Rob Schneider CBS comedy that premiered to 13.47 viewers (4.1 in the demo), and was cancelled 8 episodes later after the audience realized it was watching garbage.

  16. As well as Timeslots. Live one show to another is different as well as one show on the same day but different time. Everything really is relative

  17. It went up from the season finale, and it did exactly what it did last year when it premiered. 2.4 is a good number, and not many shows manage to rise like that. You should be happy, also the numbers will probably be adjusted up in the nationals

  18. Sorry to spoil the party, but Mindy's actual number was a 1.9. Stay tuned for the posting.

  19. Well, 1.9 is way up from the 1.3 it was getting by the end of last season, so it's still good, just not as good as it seemed beofre

  20. Factor in that it had (a) a flood of advertising promotion and (b) no competition, and something tells me the show will be looking nostalgically on that 1.3 pretty soon.

  21. New Girl getting 3.2 in the key demo is considered a HIT. Actually, Brooklyn Nine Nine getting 3.0 is a hit now, too. Anything above 3.0 is a HIT. And, shows with 2.0 are also considered solid and good enough for renewal.
