HBO has given a series order to Damon Lindelof's The Leftovers, TVGuide.com has learned.
The 10-episode series is based on Tom Perrotta's book, which follows the people who survive a Rapture-like event and must figure out how to go on without their loved ones.

Okay, I love this cast and the plot sounds interesting. I'm in!
ReplyDeleteHave to read the book first, though\.
This is excellent news. Damon is back.
ReplyDeleteSWEET. This hopefully means after this season of Teen Wolf those twins will be gone from it forever so they can focus on this HBO show. HBO shows take a super long time to film per episode compared to other shows, right??
ReplyDeleteLonger than usual yeah.
ReplyDeleteGoing to watch it first and then read the book, seeing as how when I do it the other way around I seem to get disappointed. But hell yeah, Damon is back and on premium cable no less, this should be good.
ReplyDeleteNot necessary, especially for supporting roles.
ReplyDeleteI thought he meant from a ordering-->airing point of view.
ReplyDeleteI feel like HBO has ordered a lot of new series lately. How many of their current shows are ending? Or are they simply expanding the original line-up of shows?
ReplyDeleteYeah that's what I mean, they're filming Teen Wolf 3B right now, but I'm hoping The Leftovers production schedule will bleed into Teen Wolf 4A enough that they have no choice but kill off the Carver twins.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to this.
ReplyDeleteWill it be a limited series?
They needed a new drama because of Criminal Justice that was aimed for late 2014 will probaly not end up as a series with James Gandolfini passed (they could continue the show by re-casting the leading role, but i dont feel they want to do it). Also they probaly wanna pair Game of Thrones with a new drama, since True Detective is done when GOT is back.
ReplyDeleteEnding in 2013
Treme (will continue some over to 2014 i guess by a episode or two)
Eastbound & Down (sitcom)
New in 2013
Hello Ladies (sitcom)
Getting On (sitcom, six episodes not 8 like Hello Ladies)
Ja'mie (sitcom, paired with Getting On) - Not HBO-made series, just co-produced or so.
New in 2014
True Detective (1 hour drama, 1 season, 8 episodes) - Might get a new season if successful, but with new cast.
The Leftovers
Postponed/Delayed
Sillicon Valley (sitcom) - Was dated for first half of 2014, now delayed/postponed because of recasting and production
Criminal Justice (as said, 1 hour drama)
LIV TYLER :)
ReplyDeleteDamon Lindelof is a god to me lol..
