18 Sept 2013

TVLine has learned that James Frain — one of TV’s go-to guys for playing off-putting, imperious individuals — will guest-star on multiple episodes of Fox’s freshman hit as Rutledge, a modern-day nobleman who will interrogate Ichabod, who is being passed off as a “visiting Oxford professor,” about his past.

What’s more, Rutledge harbors a secret that could affect Ichabod’s future.

  2. I don't watch the show but what a great casting. Awesome in 24 - until he died of course.

  3. I have liked Frain in a lot of roles--sounds like another good casting choice!

  4. nice choice. I wonder if any of the other "go to guys", ie. Mark Sheppard, Sebastian Roche, or Titus Welliver will make guest appearances... I was going to include Mark Pelligrino, but he's busy with the Tomorrow People show this season...

  5. This is another reason for me to keep on watching the show.

  6. I loved him in Grimm, so I can totally see him in Sleepy Hollow.

  7. Ohh!! This getting epic!!

  8. And we can now officially add James Frain into the "typecast" category.

  9. James Frain ... perfect for this show.

  10. Cool choice, but I hope that doesn't mean Nick is going to kill Prince Eric on Grimm. I would love to see more insight on the royals this season.

  11. While I always have room for more Mark Sheppard, he is stretched a little thin right now too with a supposed expanded recurring role on Supernatural and a recurring role in White Collar.

  12. It sounds like he is playing a similar role too.

  13. But it's a great year for his typecast with all the genre shows coming out right now.

  14. Great pix, and yes, I did miss out on these. So thanks for pointing them out.

  15. Sure does Can't wait to see what evil schemes he das planned for Ichabod.

  16. I capped a few others and forgot to add them before. Its of one of the tombstones and has the all seeing eye on it. Also the Horseman's casket with the Chaos symbol on it.

Appears to be some Free Mason symbolism going on i nthe show. Well all kinds of symbols I guess. The 8-pointed star is the Gnostic symbol Octogrm of Creation symbolizing creation and balance. The 8-pointed Chaos symbol symbolizes destruction and disorder.... I'm guessing they will come up more as the story goes on, but if not, they fit the good coven and evil coven nicely enough!

  17. True that ... he fits in perfectly on that show as well. But I can live without Prince Eric just as long as Monroe hangs around.

  18. Agreed. Monroe is the reason I started watching. Sad that the actor could not make a guest appearance/cameo in the final episodes of Burn Notice though. I loved Seymour.
