POLL: Which new fall TV show will be cancelled first?

4 Sept 2013

So the question is what new FALL TV show will be the first to be cancelled (and possibly pulled from the schedule). In other words, what will be this year's Made in Jersey?
Note: fall shows premiere in September or October.

  1. I could have chose numerous of these shows, mostly comedies I would say. Better not be Agents of SHIELD though, that better be good.

  2. Well last year everyone (myself included) thought Neighbours would be gone and it lives another day so sometimes its hard to know what will be a hit or not. I hope though Dads gets pulled everything I've seen and read about it makes me despair at the TV industry - it will probably be a huge hit.

  3. DADS! - looks bloody awful

  4. As long as it is neither Agents of SHIELD, nor The Blacklist, it's ok IMO.
Not that the other ones can't be great, but I am just interested in these 2 and I don't know enough about all others to vote.

  5. I wish we had multiple options since there are number of I think will get cancelled at almost the same time.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Either a FOX-drama or CBS-comedy

  7. I'm not sure exactly which show will be cancelled first but I'm willing to bet it will be an ABC show. Tuesdays on ABC after SHIELD will be a disaster. The competition is too tough and and ABC's 9-11pm lineup is weak. Other than that, ABC's Betrayal in the Sunday 10pm slot looks like a real clunker as well.

I'm going with my gut and saying Lucky 7. If not that show, other likely candidates are Goldbergs & Betrayal. A lot of people will probably say Dads and that show will get canceled but it won't be the first.

  8. But one show will always be the first ;)

  9. there are a few shows that i think could get cancelled and they are dracula , lucky 7 , trophy wife and betrayal maybe dads as well but im not sure on that one.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Dracula premieres almost a full month after all the other network premieres so it would have to be canceled very quickly to end up being the first to get the axe.

    Originals.

Sorry but with the negative backslash towards the last few TVD seasons, horribly dwindling audience and all the bad press around the pilot, the LAST thing they need is to split up what remains of show's fanbase into two.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Yeah, that's not going to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  13. i dont think it will be the first to get the axe but i think it will be cancelled as there are multiple ones that i think will get cancelled , the main one being lucky 7 which will be the first to go.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Dads might very well get canceled but that show has already received more press coverage than a lot of these new shows will ever get. Dads probably won't last but I think it'll initially draw enough eyeballs to outlast a few of the other clunkers debuting this month.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Probably Dads, it got a lot of hatred already and it hasn't even aired the pilot!

  16. Likely candidates for cancellation are, IMO: Betrayal, We Are Men, The Goldbergs, Trophy Wife, Lucky 7, Dads, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Back in the Game, Super Fun Night, Welcome to the Family and Sean Saves the World.
Of these, I believe Lucky 7 is the most likely one to get the axe first.

Not first but Reign will be canceled...

    ReplyDelete
  18. People actually think SHIELD will be cancelled first? They actually think it will be cancelled? xD

    ReplyDelete
  19. I made my bets on "We Are Men". I hated the trailer, to be honest. But also, upon thinking more about it, I also want to say "Dads" will be quick to go.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm going to say one of the half hour shows, probably Dads or We Are Men will be cancelled first. As for full hour, as long as SHIELD doesn't suck, which I hope it doesn't - I'm going to go with Reign or Betrayal as the first full hour show to get cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Sean Saves the World or Dads

    ReplyDelete
  22. I don't think it'll be canceled first. Though Joss does not have the best track record with his tv shows. He hasn't had one that went beyond 2 seasons in about nine years.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Dracula is a 10-episiode series, so I don't see it getting cancelled at all.

    ReplyDelete
  24. We Are Men since CBS has a full season of Mike and Molly to replace its worst comedy.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I can't recall some of these, but from what I do recall, my initial feeling is Dads or We are men, but the past couple of season when I thought that a horrible comedy would be the first, it was usually a drama (Lone Star, the Janet Montgomery Jersey lawyer show...)... so maybe Reign if it doesn't capture enough of the typical CW demos.... who knows, I think last year the odds on faves for canx were Neighbors and BaTB, but both are still doing well enough still

    ReplyDelete
  26. My bet is on Betrayal.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I was seriously considering voting for We Are Men because it looks absolutely awful but CBS has a track record of turning crap comedies into hits so I gave my vote to something else.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I agree, but again it`s FOX and it is Seth MacFarlane.

You are free to believe that TVD is not dying.
You are free to believe that Originals will survive on JoMo's shjrtless scenes alone.

you are wrong on both counts, though.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I am free to comment on and stick to the topic at hand which is "which new fall show will be canceled first?" You picked The Originals and that show being canceled first is not going to happen. Period.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Dads will probably get a full season pickup because press will draw eyeballs, I predict it will be canceled before all episodes are aired or produced like Ben and Kate. My next choice goes to Lucky 7 as I have yet to single ad for it, literally all I know or have heard is that it's about lottery winners.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Agreed. The CW is the least cancel happy and at the minimum it will get and air 22 episodes. It would have to be an utter disaster to get pulled early, like Cult disaster. Which ain't gonna happen.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Sighs you are probably right, even bad press is good press.

    ReplyDelete
  34. We are Men despite a cast I like looks bloody awful!

    ReplyDelete
  35. "Horribly dwindling audience" whatever hate you feel towards the show is clouding your judgement because tvd's ratings have been relatively the same for the past 2 seasons. You might want the originals to be cancelled and it might but staying in context of the question it definately wont be the first to get cancelled ecpecially being on the cw and having a built in audience already

    ReplyDelete
  36. Exactly. This is the same network that gave the abysmal The Carrie Diaries a second season when the show's ratings were lower than some public access channels. In the history of the network, only two scripted shows have been canceled before their initial episode order had finished - Cult & TBL: The Beautiful Life. Both shows were utter disasters.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The topic is not, "which new show are you least looking forward to?" which is very subjective. The topic is "which new fall TV show will be the first to be cancelled." Given that The Originals has a solid, established fanbase/audience already and that The CW has lower ratings expectations than ABC, NBC, and CBS, I think it is safe to say that The Originals is not a candidate for first cancellation of the season.

And I don't begrudge you your opinion. I too have some issues with the recent quality/plotlines for TVD. But even if I wasn't skipping around in glee waiting for The Originals premiere -- make no mistake, I totally am! -- I would acknowledge that it will not be the first show to go. It will at least have a season to see how it plays out in the ratings.

Fox Chancel most of there shows after 1 or 2 seasons even if the are good or not. Almost human and sleepy hollow look promissing. But i dont believe in FOX. The channel have made some bad decision the last few years..

    ReplyDelete
  39. Both suck equally.

    ReplyDelete
  40. We Are Men, Dads or Lucky 7.

    ReplyDelete
  41. One could also say the same about NBC and ABC.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Apparently FOX has the best batch of pilots out of all the main networks.

    ReplyDelete
  43. InvestedInYourFuture4 September 2013 at 23:11

if by "relatively same" you mean the show reaching the SERIES LOW TWICE in same season, then sure.

    ReplyDelete
  44. tvd's series low is 1.0 it reached that point once in season 3 and a few times in season 4 and hasn't gone below that. shocking right a show's ratings decreases as it gets older im sure that doesn't happen to any other shows.

    ReplyDelete
  45. The series low isn't really a red flag and hardly worth mentioning. The Vampire Diaries series low (1.0) was still better than the season averages of every single show on the network except for Arrow.

    ReplyDelete
  46. This is bigger than Joss. This is a show based off the secobd highest grossing film of all time. No way Agents gets cancelled this season.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Mom looks like an unfunny comedy,, so I voted for that to go first. I must say I don't like the looks of Hostages, but I think it will stick around a Few months.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hey I'm fed up with TVD - have been for a long time - but everything you're saying and predicting is just obviously wrong. Behind Arrow this is The CW's biggest franchise by a long shot and there's simply no way The Originals will get any less than 22 episodes. i

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think it could be Reign, maybe not first but I don't see it working.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Last year I chose Neighbors, so that shows what I know. This year I think it will be a comedy. It will not be Reign. Too many shows will have bombed before it premieres. Same thing goes with Dracula.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Agreed. Originals may or may not end up struggling for ratings in the spring, but it will definitely stick around through then. Nothing on the CW is going to be the first one cancelled, partly because they start so much later than most shows. Partly because the CW doesn't have as many choices for replacements. Partly because the CW doesn't expect much. Even Emily Owens got 13 episodes last year. Heck, The Carrie Diaries got renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm voting hostages because of their plans for being too long. As for the others well we need to wait and see for them.

    ReplyDelete
  53. The ONLY reason I am going to watch Originals is for Danial Gillies,Elijah, never a fan of JoMo shirtless or not. Klaus just does nothing for me.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I voted for We are met but it was a three way tie between that, Dads and Betrayal....

    ReplyDelete
  55. Ah! But it's not multicam! They might be willing to NOT stick with it for the reason alone...

    ReplyDelete
  56. That is a valid point. All of CBS' successful crap sitcoms have been multicam.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I bet you half of those show won't make it to January.

    ReplyDelete
  58. The Crazy Ones: I don't care if I'm the only person in the world who thinks this but Robin Wiliams just isn't funny, and the premise of this show looks SO stupid!
