All the episode was amazing, but Walt telling the truth to Jesse about Jane's death made my cry. Just the look on Jesse's face made my heart break :( Bryan and Aaron deserve so many awards for their amazing performances.
I am not a sexist pig. I've just tired of Skyler's whining over the last 5 seasons. Lol. In reality, she's the better parent. I mean let's face it, Walt is a damn drug dealer, but the it makes for good TV. Oh and no I will not stop watching the show.
Excuse me but not everyone is a Skyler hater and you should know better than that. I don't think poll options should be so evidently biased. I'm not voting.
Your opinion is taken under advisement. I will be sure to add the Other - Leave a Comment option next time. Actually forgot to add it here. Thanks for voicing your opinion respectfully.
I agree. You can see how much saying all of this is tearing him up inside but he believes it need to be done to save the mother of her children from the consequences of his crimes.
please tom. Nothing Walt said had to do with sexism. Do I have to remind you she just basically ordered a hit on Jesse? Now she goes at Walt with a knife. Am I missing something. I'm not being sarcastic.
I loved the death scene in the desert. Walt collapsing after Hank was shot made it feel like Walt himself was shot. His world was fallign apart since his breaking bad had family come home and hit his family.
Also I loved the phone call. I have disliked Skyler for most of the series, but I do not think this scene was about Walter berating Skyler. I think Walt was trying to provide a motive for the police that Syler was forced into everything by Walter. One final attempt to save his family and keep Skyler out of jail.
You know you are an unlikable character when your husband is a meth-cooking drug kingpin and multiple murderer and yet he is the likable one in the reationship! XD
Skyler was written to be the foil and "bad guy" for most of the series. If people overlooked or chose to ignore that they may in fact be the ones that are biased.
Viewers who still think Sklyer is a 'bitch' and that Walter is a badass hero we should all love and root for are misinterpreting the show so badly that frankly I have no idea what they are watching every week. Skyler isn't meant to be 100% good or pure but she isn't evil or the enemy, the entire show is about how Walter's ego and pride has sent him down a path to hell, his abuse of his wife and of Jesse are truly vile acts.
His lies and ridiculous justification for his acts of murder and mayhem have corrupted all of those around him. If you think he is a hero then you are watching the wrong show. Go and watch Dexter where the writers and actors seem to think he is still a hero and a good guy.
Agreed. Although I think Walt has to be included in that "grey area" to be honest.
One of the major themes of the show is bad people can do good and good people can do bad - no one is purely one "color." - things are not black or white. Even the family name has irony to it!
I'd just like to write this comment in honor of Hank and Steve Gomez. You have been part of the heart of the show and I litterally shed a tear when Hank died and my heart stopped for a minute. RIP.
Where Walter is concerned, I think everyone has a point where they decide he's gone too far and should have stopped. For many, it was the decision to even attempt a cook in the first place. For some it took a little longer. I'm not sure exactly where the jumping off point would be for me, but I think it has to do with causing harm to those who weren't a threat to him. Only example I can think of is Brock.
In the beginning, I really identified with the struggling family man dynamic. I hate the way it emasculates a man and Walter embodied that for me. That's not to say I'm not a family man, but I just hate the way life tends to hold you down so that you get just barely enough until you can't function anymore. By the time you have time and money to do the things you'd like to do, you can't because health problems and getting old kind of kicks in.
I know there are moments along the way where I felt a certain satisfaction when he got his way. Quitting the car wash was one -- buying the car wash and using Bogdan's first dollar to buy a Coke was another. Taking out Gus -- because he threatened to Kill Walter's whole family was also very satisfying.
I agree this is how the character was built, but the problem is people are completely blindsided by their like for Walt and totally unable to differentiate between that and the fact that Skyler is, at least in some ways, NOT to blame for what he did. She is not a monster send to earth in order to destroy his life, but, honest to god, that's how I've read her described more often than not.
Jesus when Walt stole Holly, it was the most powerful scene I have ever seen in history of television, no overreaction, no exaggeration. Anna Gunn is getting a fu**ing Emmy for that scene or I will officially quit life.
Yes! I was so worried about that poor baby. And he puts her in a fire truck with a note pinned to her. What if the firefighter had just turned off the lights and missed seeing her?
Agreed. She is not responsible for Walt's actions...
I think she may have influenced Walt's initial frustration with life and his unhappiness, but even that did not make her some monster exactly. Walt is responsible for his own actions and his own issues to a very large degree.
I interpreted the last scene just like you did. Walt was trying to save his family and I am fairly sure that by the end of that conversation Skylar understood aswell.
I was much more disappointed with the way he treated Jesse. He tried to save Hank, but just wanted Jesse killed.....so disappointing.
Walts conversation with Skylar in the end. Once more he tried to save his family and took all the blame upon himself. it was sad to see him getting in the car end the end and leaving it all behind.
Ofcourse Hanks final scene was also very well made as was the fight in the house.
:-) The way you feel about Skylar is the way I feel about most of the characters on the show. I mean, it really sums up how I feel about Walt (and Skylar and Hank), I respect some of the things he does, but really doubt his motives with other things. All of the characters feels very real to me though, so I trust the writers to take them to the right place. It always felt as if they had a bigger plan for Skylar.
It still bothers be that Walt told Jesse about Jane. It was the first time ever on this show that I felt like the writers should have left it out. They must have done it to make Jesse hate Walt even more. Maybe so that he will kill him in the end.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
all!
ReplyDeleteMarie confronts Skyler and has her explain everything to Walt Jr.
ReplyDeleteI concur.
ReplyDeleteReally, the last option?! More like Walt saves Skyler from jail after being nearly knifed by her.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to say that to Skyler, you're a sexist pig and the writers think so too. Stop watching the show.

ReplyDeleteEvery scene duh

ReplyDeleteI knew one day Walt will tell Jesse the truth about Jane. I was just expecting it to happen in the series finale and not in the third-to-last episode.

The opening scene makes me wonder -- how did Walt make it this far when his lies are so lame?
ReplyDeleteAll Of The Scenes.

ReplyDeleteThank you for listening to it respectfully as well and replying :)

The knife fight at the White's was so intense, I voted for the whole scene, including the "you killed hank" and Walter taking Holly.
