The ABC drama has tapped Gil McKinney (Supernatural, Friday Night Lights) to play the pivotal role of Prince Eric in a multi-episode Season 3 arc, TVLine has learned exclusively.

    I loved him on SPN, but not who I pictured as Prince Eric. Can't wait, though!

    He doesn't look like Prince Eric at all. If I had my way it would have been Matt Bomer, but that was never going to happen. Oh well. I haven't this guy in anything, so maybe he will be good. I hope he has a sheepdog named Max.

    I was kind of hoping Tom Welling would get the role. That being said, I liked him in FNL and I can't wait to see what he adds to the show.

    Agreed, he was great as Henry Winchester and I bet he will make a great Eric. The actor's ability to portray the character is much more important than "this person doesn't look like Prince ___ or Princess ___".

    Maybe Tom gets something more permanent if he'll ever be on the show because from the looks of it neither Eric nor Ariel will be around for a longer time and I want to get more regular preferably weekly TW dose if he starts an other tv show.

    :D I love Prince Eric, I may have to watch season 3 just for the Little Mermaid arc. I hope we get to see them all in love, TLM always was one of my favorites.

    I hope he surprises me with his acting (haven't seen him on anything), but he does not look like Prince Eric IMO.
    Based only on what I am seeing, I am not happy about this casting.
